A repurposed light shade and update on crepes

*
Good Morning, Good Morning
*
How are you this fine morning???
*
I have to say I am feeling much peppier the
last few days,  think I have finally caught up
on my rest, and also that the pollen must not
be as bad either!!  Yea,  that works for me!!
*
I have decided to use this older post as
a White Wednesday post today!!
*

I wanted to show you something I repurposed
on Saturday, and am really quite pleased with.
*

*
I had this..............in fact, 6 of these

*
That came from this,  actually it is upside
down to how we used it, but couldn't get a
good pic the other way.  I actually like it
this way too!!
*
*
This was the replacement in our bathroom
re-do.  Actually I was sort of bummed cause I
liked the other one better, but the sockets were
sizzling so we thought it best to get new lights as
we have had a flood in our home,  we certainly
wouldn't want  to have a fire!!
Had trouble getting a good picture so
turned the lights way down.  It is brushed
nickel and really does look better with
our new look, but I really loved the
light covers and am so happy I found
a new way to use them.
*
*
I turned it up like this..............
So I dropped a tea lite candle in it,
and got this........

*
I was quite happy with it, but was concerned
the aluminum or plastic tea lite might not be
good against the tablecloth or wood,
so my brilliant hubby said well what
 about this
*
*
Remember these from my December blog
that we repurposed as tea light candle holders,
another brilliant idea from hubby.
*
*
For those of you who don't.... they were lids
off candle jars.  click here for the link to see how
to get the plastic off of them. You will have to
scroll down a lil bit,  in that pic I am using a
yankee candle lids but it works the same
with all of them really.
*
These were lids off candle jars from Michaels
crafts,  and they have a flat bottom,  I tried
the yankee candle lids but they are a little
too rounded to work for this.
*
*
Just put her underneath and it solves the heat problem
and  now look at this!
*
*
Aren' t they pretty all lit up.
*

*
I am sure at some point they will find there
way into a tablescape for a nice dinner,
but meanwhile,  we are just enjoying
having them out on our porch.
*
I would like to find one more flat lid
so I can have 3 to put in the middle
of the dining room table for a nice
tablescape,  but if not,  I will just
use something else in the center
like I did here!
*
*
Now I have another repurposing idea.  Our mixer
broke,  so I have 2 of these leftover.
*
*
I'm thinkin that beater painted bright
yellow and secured to the bottom in
the right position could look like the
stamen on a flower.  I was thinkin
it could make a cute yard ornament
but then it would hold water, so it  would
have to be an inside ornamentation just
don't know where I would put it,....
 on the porch somewhere probably.
*
Maybe I am going a bit too far with this
repurposing thing,  but ya never know
another project for another time!! lol
*
Oh,  and here is an update on browning the
crepes!
*
DON'T
*
or they will look like this!!

*
This is banana and cream with a lil strawberry
juice and pecans on top.
Now it was scrumptious but....
*
*
it  made it stiff and it cracked to pieces, when I tried
to fold it......it taste great but doesn't look so great,
it probably would NOT get raves revues on
Foodie Friday,  due to presentation!!
and I would understand I like pretty
presentation too!! lol
*
Once on the plate it really didn't look any
different color wise, so it was a waste of time.
but I did better this time.
*
This one was not browned and I rolled it
where it looked like theirs on the package.
This was peaches, whipcream and pecans.
Delightful as well!
Oops.......my whip cream is melting quick
cause it has been out of the fridge awhile
I guess!
*
Lois over at wife of the colonel says she
makes her own crepes and has a recipe on
her blog,  so gonna go over and get a link
for those of you who might like to try it.
You will see that it says manicotti,  but look
right below that word and you will see it
is the crepe recipe,  she uses crepes to
make manicotti,  how cool is that!!
*
If you decide to try it.... make sure you
let us know!!
*
Well, sweet folks that is it for today!!
*

Have a super great evening and if you think of it,
say a prayer for wisdom for hubby and I as we
are counseling a young couple with marital problems,
and we can always use all the help we can get!! lol

  3. I just love the repurposing - and so bummed I missed the December post...cause I throw out all those candle jar lids and what a great idea - tea light holders! I truly have a bad habit of throwing everything away but I really like your new candles. (Not exactly sure about that beater?!?!) :) You were an inspiration tonight:)
