Tablescape Thursday

Hello Sweet Friends,

How has your day been???

Thought I would share pics from our
birthday celebration on Sunday.

As you can see it was my Son Scotts birthday,
he turned 33 yrs. old!!  This was the sign over
the table, and also the front of his birthday card.

Here  is the birthday boy with his sweetie, Megan!
This is an older pic taken at Easter because I forgot
as usual to take any pics once they got here!!
As you can see poor Megan was pretty sunburned,
 bless her heart!!

*
Here is a shot from above the table I was trying
to do something that looked a lil more manly!!

*
And I think pinecones and leaves and fall
colors look pretty natural and manly!!
*

*
I love these lil plastic leaves in 5 different colors,
they have been used over and over again!!
Everywhere!!
*

                                                                                  *
                                                  Can never have enough leaves!!
                                                       *

I have also had these natural leaves
forever, but they were a lil knarled up
so I put paper towel over them and
                                          pressed them!! lol

                                                                                     *
Made the centerpiece by using my elongated
                        platter, pillar candles,
                        dried lentils, natural leaves, pinecones,
                         faux apples and nuts taken
off an old candle ring I have had for ages.                                                                                      *

I really liked the look of the lentils on the
bottom,  hubby thought it looked like a
                                            forest bed.

Finally remembered to light the candles.

Always like to add some candy at each place setting!

Decided to do the place settings at each end
a lil differently, so put the napkin on
the plate and added the apple to match
                                     with the centerpiece.

Here we are all lit up!!

Have always loved these Amber plates
I got at Target some years back.
I use them for dessert or everyday plates
all the time in the Fall.

*
Time for lights out to enjoy the glow
*

*
Aren't Candles so warm and lovely!!
*

*
I love these glasses cause the color
is so versatile,  they sort of pick up
the colors you put them with!
They are actually a pink color,
but look like a rusty color with the
golds and rust.  I was gonna use clear
stemware but we decided they looked
 more guyish.

Sorry this all looks so wierd, for some
reason I had a hard time uploading
the pics and typing the whole thing.

I almost gave up it was so aggravating
but I took a break for awhile and came
back.

Hope you enjoyed your visit!

Thanks for coming by,  and be sure
to go over and visit Susan at
between naps on the porch to see
all the creative ideas these ladies
come up with.

Also, thanks Susan for always doing
such a great job on your posts and for
 hosting this tablescape party!!

Have a Good day tomorrow!

Hugs and Blessings,
Nellie

  1. Nellie,
The birthday table is lovely - oops, I mean handsome.(So is that son of yours!) The centerpiece is great. You did a terrific job with it. I'm going to be on the lookout for some little leaf scatters like the ones you used. I thin they would have been a good addition to the table I did this week.

Thanks for leaving such a nice comment on my blog. I am new to blogging, so the time you took is really appreciated.

  2. Good morning Nellie! Wow what a fantastic job you did for your son's celebration. It DOES look "manly"...I buy those atificial leaves that come in a bunch at the dollar store, and cut them apart into individual leaves...I have them scattered on my dining room table as well as in a few other places. An inexpensive way to bring in fall! The apples were a great touch too! I have been using those tiny pumpkins, one at each place setting.

Nice to visit you this morning...I've had a little flu bug that isn't totally gone yet...still trying to babysit my grands...thankfully they are such good and sweet kids!

    Have a blessed day!

I love the table. All the beautiful fall colors. You son is very handsome and his girl is cute. I know you a very proud mom. What a great celebration.

Thanks for visiting my BLOG. The olives are Queen with pimentos and we used regular bacon. I bet turkey bacon would be better. I am thinking you could broil. They are yummy.

    Have a good day!

  6. Nellie, the table is beautiful. I absolutely LOVE your centerpiece. It is stunning!!!

And Scott and Megan are a beautiful couple. Scott is a very handsome man. But that shouldn't be a surprise, as I remember him being a very good-looking teenage boy.

    Blessings and love,
    Patti

  7. Love your table setting!! Looks so pretty and festive! And we have a Hobby Lobby by the mall, about 40 minutes from here and I've never been either! I think I need to stop in when I'm down by the mall soon!

  8. Nellie, you did a great job doing a masculine table...which I find difficult to do most of the time. I like the amber plates, they would be so versatile. Have a great weekend!

  12. I agree, you've achieved a wonderful Fall/manly tablescape to celebrate your son's birthday. Such fun! I've had problems uploading pics for my post on a couple of occasions. The second time I realized that there was a little message at the top telling me that blogger was going to be down for maintenance...during the time that I was posting. Since then, I've been better at 'reading instructions.' Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
