Scenery from Asheville, North Carolina

Happy Tuesday Sweet Friends,

So what's happening with you this week??
Are you having your last summer flings
before school begins again??  or just taking
the time to enjoy summer cause you have
no kiddies to send back to school............

My Goodness I went to Wally World last
Friday to return something and it was like
Christmas was here,  the place was mobbed.
It was Tax Free School Shopping week.  I didn't
know since I don't have to do school shopping
anymore.  So baby,  I got out of there as quickly
 as I could.  lol

Had a nice quiet and relaxing weekend,  and
today I hit the ground running pretty much,
had to go to the  grocery store and spent most
of the day making a meal to take to my friend,
with enough for her daughter's family too,
cause they are all worn out.

Well, thought I would show you some of our
scenic travel adventures that we just happened
on, while we were out and about in Asheville.
All very pretty.

For your enjoyment  Be sure to click on any
picture and it will enlarge them all.  Gives you a
 view like the header picture.

See the smoke stack in the distance,  that is the next
exit up and my daughter lives about 5 mins. from that.
Think it is a power plant

The mountains can look so hazy at times, course, guess that is why
they call them the smokey mountains

All these narrow pics were taken out of the front car window,  so I cropped the
dashboard and a street out to get to the good stuff.   lol

Hope you enjoyed the scenic tour........
I know some are repeats but just thought they
 were all pretty.

I will show you more on Thursday,
so stay tuned for part 2.

  1. School, what's that? Ha! I am so enjoying my retirement from school (34 years of it!) I can't believe it's going on 4 years already!!!

I wonder if on-line shopping was tax free? I don't like to be among the "mobs" of people.

I made a stew I have been eating. Today I will finish it up!

It's so amazing how set backs can "knock you for a loop!" That was a little bit with me when I sliced my fingers last January!

It's amazing how much land our country does have that has not been cleared off and built upon!

The wildflowers are pretty! I was thinking this might be an idea to do with the "pretty" green weeds in my bay window flower bed. Find some colorful graffiti to throw over the top of them to make it look like flowers rather than weeds, ha!

Looking forward to your continued tour! Love you, Susan

  2. I'm so glad you linked to Cindy's party! I was thrilled to see these photos...they look a lot like mine right now! We are in Asheville! heehee! It's beautiful, isn't it? We've lived here for a long time and still love to see these majestic mountains! Hope you'll stop by and visit me soon! Sweet hugs, Diane

  3. I made the same mistake of going into Wal-Mart Friday! This is the second year of retirement from teaching and I still giggle when I think of my colleagues still getting ready for a new school year!

How lucky you are to live in such a beautiful area! Your photos are gorgeous!

    Visiting from Amaze Me Monday.

  6. Those are some beautiful photos, Nellie! Reminds me of all the greenery we were seeing a couple of weeks ago on our road trip to Oregon. It actually got rather claustrophobic for us after being so use to wide-open spaces here in AZ. It was definitely a fun respite from our AZ heat, however!

We have 4 WallyWorlds within 10 minutes of our home, and they are always crowded, but much worse this time of year for back-to-school shopping and then it will all begin for the holidays and run through New Years. We just try to pick a mid-week day and go in the morning -- still crazy-busy, but not quite as bad as other times.
