Thankful Thursday November 10, 2016, Fall living room #3

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you are doing well and feeling
encouraged in spite of this past week,
as I know it has been quite a week.

Know I am quite late, but just been
living life.............

Thought I would add the photos of
the last of my Fall decorations in the
 living room...........

and
I am just gonna get on with it
as all my thankfuls are already
done, just need to get it
 posted.......lol

I am thankful

#1
for our Veterans who have given
their lives for our freedom and
for the Veterans and their families
who have sacrificed so much to
fight for our freedoms that we
have.  Where would our nation
be without them. We are grate-
ful to you from the bottom of
our heart.....and we pray that
the Lord blesses you in
Amazing ways.
Thank You for what you did
or what you are doing now
for us and our nation.

Happy Veteran's Day to You!!

#2
for the pleasant surprise last
Friday of a friend dropping
by unexpectedly and spending
some time with me.  Was nice
to catch up and great to know
she is doing so well.

#3
for a fun night out shopping
for our son's birthday and for
our anniversary. Then dinner at
a new to us, Mexican restaurant
called Habaneros, however,
we weren't overly impressed
with the food,  but it was a
 nice change, at least.  lol

#4
for a fun time with the whole
 family on Sunday as we
 celebrated Scott's birthday. He
is now Jack Benny age!  lol
Some of you will get that... but
others that are younger probably
not!!  lol

#5
for 46 years of marriage with
my sweet hubby.  Could never
imagine my life without him.

Here we are  in 1970

Just in case you might be interested
 in reading our story.

Click here for Part 1 How we met

Click Here for Part 2  How are
marriage was saved

It was written
7 yrs. ago................when I first
started blogging........not much
has changed accept both our
children are grown and married
and we have a 3+ yrs. old grand-
daughter that we adore and get to
watch every Wednesday. We are
still living in the same city, and
the same home, going to the same
church and still working with
married couples, and enjoying
our lives together.  What can I
say but.......God is good.

#6
for a very nice evening
 reminiscing over our many years
together, and looking at wedding
 pics, etc.
It wasn't exactly what we had
planned, as he was suppose to
be off work Mon and Tues. but
due to a crisis at work we decided
for him to move those days to
Thanksgiving week, but he got to
work at home at least, but it sort
of put a damper on the day, but
it actually turned out to be quite
a nice evening. We were gonna go
out to dinner, but my sciatica was
acting up a lot and I really didn't
feel like going out, and he was
gonna go get take out,  but we had
 leftovers from Scotts dinner, which
was cuban food, and that sounded
much better to us, and it heats up
well, so we had that and the next
night he brought home Italian food
from Carrabas, so we got to
 celebrate for 2 nights.
 Works for me!
and I set a pretty table and we had
our sparkling red grape juice we
bought just for the ocassion, but
totally forgot about the night
before.....lol

#7
for a new refrigerator even tho
we didn't need it yet.....Our old
one is 35+ yrs. old, and it is that
bisque, biscuit or almond color,
and getting very hard to find.
We have been waiting almost
2 yrs. trying to find a decent
dishwasher in that color. Still
Nada.....anyway, got to thinking
if our fridge went out, we would
be stuck having to buy staineless
steel, which would look terrible
in the kitchen with all our other
appliances..........and figured we
can do without a dishwasher
but we can't do without a fridge.
It was delivered on our Anniv.
and I really can't believe how
excited I am over the new fridge,
 guess practicality really does
 come with age!!  lol
I am absoutely thrilled with it,
as it has the freezer on the bottom
and the fridge up top.  Everything
is right up there where you can
see, and it means not a lot of
bending over.  Also will be easier
to clean.....  I can stand up to do
it rather than killing my back or
having to sit in a chair..........lol
So I am more thrilled with it as
the days go by.

#8
that my daughter has a new job
2 days a week in her field, which
is Radiology, but she specialized
 in Mammography. She will start
on December 5th,  and she is
very excited about it.
Then later in the week she was
offered another job doing Dexa
scans, and it is just one day to
1 1/2 days, but she sets her own
schedule and can work it around
her mammography schedule.
She starts there next week.
So she has accomplished her
goal of being able to work
when she wants and to have
the flexibility to take off when
she wants to come visit or when
others come to visit with them.

#9
very thankful, that my daughter
in love, Megan was not hurt in
an auto accident this week. and
yes, in their new car.....it was a
minor fender bender, so she is
fine and so was the other lady.
Unfortunately, the new car was
slightly damage and in the shop
being repaired, but it could have
been so much worse.  So thank-
ful for the Lord's watch care
over her as well. If you haven't
been by in awhile...my son was
just in an auto accident last
week..........and he is fine too,
and she was in the new car
that just got replaced from
his accident.
crazy!

#10
that her Dad and step-Mom
were able to loan her their car
until she gets her's back next
week.

With poster edges affect

#11
that God has heard the prayers of
his people about who the best choice
for President was, even tho it seems
the lesser of the 2 evils........
The Lord can use anyone He chooses
to accomplish His purposes. I believe
this election has been prayed over more
than any election that I have ever
known of, and now if we American's
will just continue to pray for our
leaders as much now, as we did when
the campaign was going on,  I believe
God will heal our land....but I
believe it is truly up to us,
according to 2 Chronicles 7:14

if my people, who are called by my name,
will humble themselves and pray and seek
my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and
I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

#12
for a verse that was in our up-
coming Sunday school lesson
for this Sunday.

It is Proverbs 21:1

The king's heart is in the
 hand of the LORD,
 as the rivers of water:
he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Just the fact, that it was in our
lesson for this week, with the
 election being this week,  it
just really spoke to me of
 God's sovereignty even over
bringing encouragement to
us when we need it most.
This is a 3 yr. study course we
are doing.....no one could have
planned that.....some will say
oh, that is just a coincidence,
but I believe it was a divine
word of encouragment to
God's children.

Well,  there you have it.....
another week at Cozy Place.

Thanks so much for coming by,

always happy to know you were
here............

Have a lovely weekend with those

 you love and hold dear.
AND
God Bless our Veterans and
the USA...........

Love, Hugs and Blessings,

Nellie

Don't have Fall dishes ?? An inexpensive solution!

Hello Sweet Friends,

Hope you are enjoying November!
and maybe some cooler weather
as well......

Got up to 62 degree weather this
morning.....what a saa- weet surprise.
So it was a fun morning on the porch!
This is our first cold snap here in Florida
and I feel a bit like a frisky squirrel....lol

So much to look forward to, this time
of year,  at least at our house anyway.
Two of those things to look forward
to.... have alread happened for us on
Friday and Monday.
Our Son's birthday and our 46th
Wedding Anniversary.  We actually
brought our baby boy home from the
hospital on our 7th anniversary......
He was our best Anniversary gift
ever!!  and he is like the gift that
keeps on giving all year long...
every year!

Since I always like to set a special
table for those I love , I am always
on the lookout for ideas, particularly
for the guys, as it is a bit harder to
do a guys table that doesn't seem
too frilly.......or feminine.

So last week I was able to visit
the Christmas tree store, and found
something that I thought fit the bill
for a guy and the Fall season all
at the same time..............

So want to show you the out-
come of my christmas tree
store visit.

Thought this would be a
perfect table to show for some
one who feels like they don't have
any tableware that is festive for
Fall or any occasion really, but
you do have solid colored or
white plates. And best of all
it cost a whopping $2.00,  yea,
 you read that right.........and
just used things I already had
around the house.

Used the white tablecloth to
compliment the white dinner plates,
  my everyday corelle ware......

Sometimes it is fun to combine
normal dinner ware with paper goods,
as it can give you a whole new look.

Had the gold pumpkins on the table already
but with a green tablecloth and a different
cake stand, that I made by using a candle
holder and that small gold plate you see
on the white cake stand. Used the white
cake stand to add more white to make
things blend more.

Also changed out the candles, borrowed
these from the mantle and replaced them
with the ones that were on the table before.

A nice overview

Just set the pretty paper plates on
top of the white plates....we used
them for salad.  If you look closely
you can see they actually have a
little white on them too.

 With Cut Out Photo Affect

It was either clear or dark brown glasses,
so went with the brown since  there was
some brown in the plates and napkins
and since it was a guy table.

With Posterized Affect

Wanted you to see how pretty the
napkins were too.....just used them
 like placemats to add color............
Loved the orange, white and
brown colors together.
Fresh but Fallish and Guyish!!
I so appreciate the artistry that goes
 into paper goods and packaging,
as their are some talented people
behind them.

Used modern/ unadored
silverware.

Had to have some candy,....leftover Twix
Bars from Halloween went well........

Then a few days later............
 it became our Anniversary Table.

Changed up the centerpiece just a little
and put it going across the table, so I
could set a table for two.

then just used the white plates with a
napkin on top, and also changed out
the silverware for my wedding silver
for sentimental reasons.............

With colored pencil affect

and used clear goblets for our
sparkling grape juice. Dinner
was delish..........

Well, hope this inspires some
one to try something new.

Glad you could drop by,

and
have a great rest of the week.

I am going back to watch the

election returns now.

Love, Hugs and
Exciting Cold Front Blessings,

Nellie

Are you still confused about voting ?? - This might just help......

Happy Sunday
Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and happy,
 and having a good morning.

As we all well know this years
Presidential election has been a
confusing, unheaval of craziness,
to say the least, and I know we
have...... or maybe all have been
struggling with it.....so, on that note,
I decided to share with you about
 a wonderful program hubby and
I watched last night from
"My Faith Matters, My Vote Matters",
that Dr. Ben Carson is involved with
and it was very good, very positive
 and  very informative.  There were
a number (8 to be exact) of great
speakers and we really enjoyed them
all, and altho, we have already voted,
it just help solidify our decisions.
Just thought you might be interested
in seeing it too......so thought I would
give you the link to it, just in case!

Just Click here or type in
https://www.myfaithvotes.org/faithincultureandpolitics/

Just so you know there is no mention
of any candidates, their main objective
is to get people out to vote, and to give
people an idea of what we should be
looking for in a candidate and to be
praying and seeking the Lord about
who we should vote for, and they also
talk about living out our faith in the
workplace and every place really.
If you go to the sight it will also tell
you about the speakers, many we
had never heard of, but they were
really good.......the only ones we were
very familiar with was Dr. Carson
and Rev. David Jeremiah.

Am hoping this might be helpful to
even one or many folks.

Have a Blessed Day,
Hugs, Nellie

Thankful Thursday November 3. 2016, Fall living room #2

And we know that in all things
God works for the good of those
who love him, who have been
called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

Greetings Sweet Friends,

How has your week been going??

Well, I hope.............

Been a good week here so far,
other than some ongoing sciatic
nerve issues......that keep coming
 and going.......waiting for them to
just keep going......lol

Here are some more pics from
our Living room done up for Fall.
In the header picture you can see
the free printable I was telling you
about on Tuesday that I got over at
Shabby Art Boutique
from Kerryanne.
I think it is just so beautiful, and that
she is a very talented artist.  If you
have never visited her,  just click here
or go to Shabbyartboutique.com
You won't be disappointed......

Did you notice the blue pumpkin...
that I selected both printables to
go with??

Love that  lil darling called it a
"Blueberry Pumpkin"!  lol

Well,  on with my thankful list...

I am thankful

#1
for a lovely time with our friend
from Seattle.  He spent a couple
of days with us, as we had lots
of catching up to do.  He lost
his wife to cancer about 2 yrs.
ago, and she was only 42.
They used to live here, so being
here in town and at our and the
homes of others and our church
brought back many memories
for him.  He is clearly still
grieving her loss. so it was a bit
of a weepy time as well , but
that was good too, As we
loved her too.

#2
that he is going to get some
grief counseling when he goes
home, think this trip will help
get the ball rolling...........

#3
that Scott, Megan and Brooklyn
got to go visit our daughter and
hubby this passed weekend.
Always love to know they are
having fun together, and thankful
that they got there and back
safely as well.

#4
for a very sweet and encouraging
card from one of our couples in
the young marrieds class.

#5
that my son was not hurt in a car
 accident on Monday while in
Charleston.  They had to get a new
car, but thankfully he is just fine!
They drove home in their new car.
Know I told you on Tuesday but
just have to say once again that
we are very thankful for God's
 protection over him............

#6
that we got to see a new movie
put out by Kirk Camerson
called "Revive Us".  It was
one of those movies that only
show once or twice in the
theatres all over the country.
Both times it showed here it
was when we were away in
Charleston, but they decided
to have another showing so
we got to go Tuesday night.
It was very inspiring and
exciting!

#7
for 2 new pairs of high heels,
black and nude patent leather
comfort shoes......very comfy.
Have wanted some in that nude
color for awhile now, they look
so good on Duchess Kate!! lol
and it was a buy one get one
half off deal,  which is
 always nice.

#8
for God's word, the Bible and
how it teaches us how to live
our lives in a way that honor
the Lord..........

#9
for Dr. Ben Carson and others who
have really tried to impress upon
Christians the need to get out and
vote on the issues.

#10
that by this time next week the
election will be over.........and
that no matter who wins we
know that it is the Lord's will
and that He is still on His throne.

#11
for a good old fashioned cleansing
cry over a bunch of things that have
made me sad lately.  Some times we
just get a pile up....and it has to find
a way out.........and really this is the
best way......I am feeling way better
about life now..........lol

It makes me think of this verse:

 You (meaning God) keep track
 of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears
 in your bottle.
 You have recorded each one
 in your book.
Psalm 56:8 New Living Translation

I am many times a crier whether I am
happy or sad, so I think it is so neat
that He cares so much for us that He
would do what this verse says.........

#12
that I finally got to use my new blue
tooth headset that hubby got me to go
with our new phones.  We have been
too busy learning how to use all the new
stuff on the phones that we hadn't gotten
around to it yet.  It was awesome I could
hear very clearly, and did the dishes and
made beef stew all while I was talking
to my sweet daughter on the phone,
and she could hear no back ground
noise either......where she did with
the speaker phone.  I love it......what
a great lil device.

Well, there you have it another week
 at Cozy Place.

So happy you stopped in...............

If you would like to see part 1 of our
Fall living room. Click here or just

Have a Super weekend with your
family and or friends.

Love,  Hugs and
Early November Blessings,
Nellie

Happy November - Fall Living room shots 2016

Happy November
Sweet Friends......

 Were you ready for November??
It just seems to have rolled
around sooo quickly.....
and now we are on to thinking
about Thanksgiving...and at our
house... birthdays and our 46th
Anniversary and Christmas
shopping too.  So the schedule
is starting to heat up a bit.....
but with fun stuff.....

Also looks like my daughter
and hubby will get to be here
a few days for Thanksgiving,
and she will possibly come
again around the middle
of December, so that is all
exciting stuff for us.

I was shocked to read on face-
book late Halloween night that
my son was in an accident earlier
that day as he and his family were
 visiting his sister in Charleston,
the car was damaged but most
 importantly,
He was not hurt in any way!!
Very thankful for that......
Probably good that he was in
 the car alone too.

Thought I would show you some
Fall shots from our living room,
etagere'.

For our Fall entrance wall......
Just threw a few things on this plain
green wreath that I already had.

For the Etagere' I just
started off with this free printable.
Love this free printable by
 Lilly Ashley @
http://www.thelatestfind.com/2015/09/
freebie-fall-printable-freeprintables.html

I chose it mostly because I loved the
blue with the autumn colors, and
thought it was perfect for the colors
of the pumpkins I have in there, as
well as another free printable from
Shabby Art Boutique.
Both of which you will see more
of in part 2, on Thursday.

Just printed it and taped it to the
glass on the frame.

Since the pumpkin was satin and
had a bit of bling, decided to make
it look even more elegant by adding
pearls to match and putting it in a
this urn...........

Then added my lil game letters!

Same pic as above but with
 a Photocopy affect

and I really do have such
a love for Fall and it
really does brings me great JOY!

Thanks for coming by............

See ya on Thursday!!

Have a great week.......

Love, Hugs and
November Blessings,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday September 18, 2025, and Fall decorating at Cozy Place #1
