Thankful Thursday Oct. 13, 2016, pics of Fall's Past #7

He is my loving God and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
Psalm 144:2

Morning Sweet Friends,

Hope this find those of you who were in
the path of hurricane Matthew having life
back to normal or at least are headed in
that direction, and for those of you that are
in those flooded areas or where there was
really bad damage, you are getting the
help you need.....our hearts and prayers
go out to you!  and for those of you who
missed the ravages of the storm....hope
this finds you well, happy and
especially thankful.....

Think most folks that went thru the
storm here have just been exhausted
all week. That sure describes us any
way.  Today is the first day I have felt
really good and am feeling more of
 a sense of normalcy again.

Just threw in some more past Fall
pictures since it was easy!!  lol
So on with my list...............

I am thankful

#1
that hurricane Matthew is over!!
and that we and our family and
 most everyone we know came
thru it well, other than yard debri
and no power or  land phones.
Thank You Jesus!

#2
that the hurricane downgraded
to a Cat 3 and went further away
from the Florida coast about 16
more miles before it hit us.
Thank You Jesus!!

#3
that we were able to get everything
cleaned up on Sat. along with throwing
out all the food in the fridge, that we
 couldn't fit in coolers........

#4
that Scott and Megan got their power
back a lil before noon on Sat, so they
invited us to come over there to stay,
so we finished our clean up and went
over there in the early afternoon, and
stayed till Mon. at lunch time.
Our power actually came back on
Sun. night but our neighbors couldn't
reach us by phone, so finally text
us, but we didn't get it till Monday
morning. We had a fun time in spite
of the situation, and it of course, was a
very nice, cool and hospitable respite.
It was nice to get to live with Scott
under the same roof again, since it
has been awhile, and it was our first
time with Megan and lil darling, so
it was really fun for us............
Thanks Scott and Megan!!

#5
for Electricity that runs everything in
 our life practically!!
Once again, nothing like doing
without it to make you really
really appreciate it.

#6
for all the Power Cos. that are
working hard to restore every
ones power as quickly as possible.
Last time we were without power
for a week, this time just 31/2 days.
As we were driving to Scott and
Megans we saw a caravan of
power trucks coming into our
area.......it just made my cry to
see that help coming to us. God
Bless those men who put their
lives in harms way to help all
of us............

#7
that Dee and Jerry got to take their
anniversary trip after all. They wound
up taking Rosie (their lil dog) with
them since we couldn't get there and
they knew no one to take care of her.
Their plane arrived safe and sound
 today on Monday afternoon and
 Rosie did great................

#8
for ice and coolers that we were
able to keep food cool in...altho
we had to throw out most of what
we had in the fridge, at least we
had what we needed to get us thru
the early days after the storm.

#9
for flashlights, candles, our storm
radio, cell phones and gas grill.
Don't even want to think about
what it wold have been like
without them.

#10
so very much, for Bible verses, and
songs about Jesus that helped to keep
me calm during the raging of loud
and very scary sounding winds
during the storm. My fav verse
that has helped me so many times
in so many different situations
is...........Isaiah 26:3 KJV

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee:
 because he trusteth in thee.

Just memorize it....and then when you
have a scary situation quote it over and
over again to yourself, as the quoting
keeps your mind stayed on HIM............
and peace will come.

#11
for those who emailed, texted,
phoned, and left comments about
our safety during the storm. Always
precious to know there are people
who care about you.......as well as
your family..........

#12

most of all for God's watch care
and protection over us and all those
we hold dear.........

Well, this has been our week at
Cozy Place.

Glad you could stop in.......

Hope you have a really really
 good rest of the week!!

Love, Hugs, and
 middle of October Blessings
(Already - can you believe it??)

Quick Hurricane Update

Just a quick Hurricane Update!

Sorry this has taken so long, but we
have been without power since around
3:45 a.m. last Thursday when the storm
was arriving. Thankfully Scott and Megan
got their power back before noon on Sat.
so we went to their house, and just got
home about an hour ago. (Monday)

We are all fine......no damage to us or
any of our family's homes.  Just debri in
the yard and no power or landline phones.
and maybe some frayed nerves!!  lol

Have to say it wasn't what I would
call a fun time, but it definitely was not
as bad as Hurricane Charlie 12 yrs.
ago......Thank the Lord!  The back
end of the storm was actually worse
that the front end.   Crazy...............
So we had wind till around 9 or 10
at night.....which they said would
die down around 2 pm.  It actually
was a blessing tho, as it kept us
cooler..........

Hope any of you that were in the
path did well too..........we were
sure praying and so were many
others, and the Lord did have it
downgrade to a cat 3, and it went
25 miles off shore, so think that
was HIS saving grace to Florida.
Praise God from whom all
blessings flow.............

See ya on Thursday,
Lord Willing...........

Love, Hugs and
Hurricane restoration Blessings,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday October 6, 2016, Fall's past #6

 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name
 may rejoice in you.
Psalm 5:11 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

I sincerely hope your week has
been less stressful than mine.......

It has really been a draining week
starting about Monday afternoon
when we saw that a tropical storm
down south of us, went from a TS
to a category 5 hurricane over night.
I had a bad feeling we might be in
for trouble. My worst concern was
for Dee and Jerry when I saw it was
gonna hit Charleston. They now live
near the ocean, not on it but very near
it.......there bliss of moving to their
new home last Thursday turned into
a very distressing time just a few short
days later, Monday to be exact. We
were already pondering what they
should do....Dee and I anyway, and
watching the updates, by Wed. they
had evacuation orders, which made
it clear they needed to leave, which
Dee and I already thought should
happen...so thankfully they are
both now settled in hopefully
 safe places.  Yea......
Then the rest of our family have
all been preparing ourselves as
we live in the Central Florida
area and we are going to be
getting the worst of it.  So now Dee
and Jerry are more worried about
our family and Jerry's family who
 are in Boca Raton. Fl.......amazing
how fast things can change.
Speaking of that, just heard from
Dee and the storm is past his family
and they are all fine, and they are
much closer to the coast than us.
So thankful to hear that good news,
and makes us feel a bit better about
what is coming towards us.  We
are getting heavy rain but no
winds yet, but I expect within a
few hours we will be..........
 We were suppose to be
leaving for Charleston tomorrow
(Friday) instead we are going to
be weathering a category 4
hurricane........Life is what
happens when you are making
your plans, as the saying goes.
Well, figured I would get this
 posted before our power goes
out, hoping it want, but the
probability is good that it will.
Any prayers would be greatly
appreciated for our family
right now..........

Just adding a few Fall Past
pictures again..............lol

I am thankful

#1
that our Sunday School get together
went so well.  We were small in #
(only 7 of us) but great in Fun.....
We had some good laughs playing
Guestures and Pit............

#2
that the house is all spic and span
so not a lot to do this week, other
than the daily stuff, and getting
us ready to go visit Dee and Jerry.

#3
for a restful Sat. as we were a bit
tired from the week.

#4
for a really fun time at Scott and
Megans on Sunday.  Good con-
versation and good food....just
really nice to spend some time
together for a change.

#5

for a tour of their backyard that
lil darling gave me.  She was telling
me the names of all the flowers they
have, accept she was giving me the
names of the flowers from a princess
 game we play.............lol
However, she did give me correct
flower names according to their color
tho, it just wasn't those particular ones
but thought she did was pretty darn
good job for a 31/2 yr. old, as well
as giving me a chuckle or two.  lol

Their backyard is gorgeous, my
son is a grower by profession, altho
he is a salesman for AG products now,
but we always have him give us a a
tour of their yard cause he is always
growing something neat. This time he
had lots of papaya's, and we couldn't
believe how big his papaya trees had
gotten since we saw them last.  Too
bad I don't like Papaya's...lol

So now Scott has competition as
he tries to give us a tour..........lol
Lil darling tries to do just what
Daddy does........so adorable!!

#6
that Dee and Jerry have gotten

pretty settled in already and are
enjoying their new abode.

#7
that I got all our hurricane
supplies in on Tuesday.

#8
that
 Dee and Jerry have friends
in Asheville, as they are being
evacuated and there were no hotels
left all the way to Greenville, and
Asheville is just another hour away,
but it turns out he has to be on call,
and will most likey be stuck at the
hospital, so Dee and Rosie, her lil
dog are on their way to Asheville.
Very happy about that but would
be much happier if Jerry was able
to go with her........altho, I am sure
he will be safe at the hospital.

#9
that I rec'd my new sport shorts
this week and they fit well and
the length was perfect. Quite
happy about that.

#10
that we are about as hurricane
prepared as we will be.....we did
board up a few windows, that
really took a rain beating the
last time and have secured or
brought in everything that we
can. Washed all the clothes
and making some food too.
I had forgotten how much
work all this is..............as
well as nerve racking as you
don't want to forget anything
that is important, as well as
your loved ones. As our kids
even tho they are adults they
have never had to prepare for
a hurricane before..........

#11
that I have the remembrance of
God's watchcare over us when
we had 3 (in a row) hurricanes
about 12 years ago.  The first
were category 4's and the last
one was a category 3, so feeling
a bit better about the storm with
 that remembrance, but this is
serious stuff folks, now they
are thinking it could possibly
upgrade to a category 5.......

#12
that Dee had good driving conditions
all the way to Asheville, and the
roads were not bad at all.

#13
for Gov. Nicki Hayey, of South
Carolina. That lady is on the ball.
She set evacuation orders into affect
early before Florida ever started
evacuation and had the roads from
Colombia to Charleston shut down,
so that way the evacuators could use
both sides of the road.  The reason
Dee had quick travel all the way.

Well,  there's the latest scoop at
Cozy Place.

Thanks for you visit,  and hope if
you live anywhere near the hurricane
affected areas....praying the Lord
protects you and yours.

Keep you light shining
brightly.............

Love,  Hugs,  and
Safe Hurricane Blessings,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday Sept. 29, 2016, Fall's Past #5

 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends.

How are ya??
Are you ready for October??
Well, ready or not, here it comes.........

I have to say I find it rather shocking
that we are about to enter October already.
Which means only 3 more months in this
year! and only 86 Days till Christmas
(if I calculated correctly)  lol  WOW!

Have been getting ready all week for our
Sunday School get together tonight, but
only 2 couples are coming that we know
of anyway. When we set the date which
is really the only time that we thought
might work, we didn't know that 3 of
our ladies had a ladies leadership retreat
to go to, and 2 of our couples had their
Life groups on a Friday night, so all
that took out at 5 couples, then one has
a sick newborn, and another Mom is
sick and on an on it goes.
Our group is not huge to start with,
and you know there is never a good
time for everyone, but didn't think it
would be this bad..........lol.......but we
also know the Lord has his reasons for
why it has turned out this way,  so we
will press on and be happy for the ones
that do come and and have a fun time
getting to know them better, and
 that will be that!

Thought I would show you some
more pics from Fall's Past, some
table tops..........
Well, on with my list.............

I am thankful

#1
that we were able to get a plumber
out here last Friday, mid-day, as we
had a leak in our guest bathroom
commode, (iwas in the off/on valve
underneath),  and it was leaking pretty
fast so we had to turn the water off on
 Thurs. nite and Friday morning.
Which lead to my my # 2 thankful.

#2
for running water in our home.
Nothing like doing without once again
to make you realize how blessed we are
to just turn on the tap and there is water.
Cannot tell you how many times I went
over to turn on the water to do something
and then remembered oh yea, we don't
have any water right now.  Was so very
happy when it was all fixed.

#3
that it didn't cost an arm and a leg, for
the plumbers and we thought it was
very reasonable for what they did.

#4
that we got a lot of work done on
Saturday.  You know how you have
those things that have been nagging
you and you have been putting them
off, so we got a few of those done
and also worked outside some too.
A productive and fun day!!

#5
that we got to sing the "Doxology"
in church on Sunday.  Even tho we
have great music, we don't often
sing the "Doxology", but when we
do it is a very fond remembrance
for me of the Methodist church I
went to with my neighbors as a
child from the age of 7-17 yrs old.
We sang it every Sunday and I just
love that song...........

If you aren't sure what I am talking
about,  here is a lovely rendition
of it.....Just Click here or type in
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBz7vuJ2b1A

#6

for a movie we actually came upon
 by accident called "Hidden Secret",
it just happened to be on the christian
station after we were watching the
 Pastors we typically watch on
 Sunday evening. It turned out
to be a really great movie.

#7
that I finally found a pair of sports
shorts online that are long enough
for me to wear.  Most of them are
so short they are ridiculous, and
definitely not for a lady in her......
60's.  lol  Believe it or not I have
been looking for some for well
over a year.  Just hoping they fit
and are not too long.....they are
a lil longer than my old ones.
So will see..........

#8

for seeing a lovely story on yahoo
news about some white police
officers who bought a bicycle for
a black male teenager, who was
walking 4 hrs. to work and back
daily trying to save money for
college.  One of the officers gave
him a ride home one day and
found out his story, so he told
his police buddies and they all
chipped in and bought the kid
a bike,  which cut his travel
time in half......the kids last
words were  "not all policemen
are bad"...........
So happy to see the news print-
ing something positive about
our law enforcement.

#9
that DeeAnna and Jerrys (our
daughter and son-in-love) left
permanently for Charleston
Monday afternoon, and that
the movers and all that had to
be done in Asheville, all went
well.  The closing on their house
there was Tuesday,  but they had
already signed papers so they didn't
have to be there, but it is all a done
deal as of  3p.m. this afternoon.

They are now officially.......
 Charlestonites!!  lol
So 2 hurdles down...........
 3 more to go!

#10

that the last 3 hurdles are done
and Dee and Jerry are now once
again proud homeowners. They
had their closing Thurs. morning,
then their furniture was delivered
right after their early morning closing
and everything was in good con-
dition and fit nicely in their new
 place.....and Jerry even wound
up having the day off.......

Their only bad thing was they
were greeted by a snake!!  lol
I told her well, it figures...right
after the Lord blesses...Satan
always shows up to try and
take your joy away!!

#11
that we got new cell phones
which arrived this week, but now
we are about the process of
learning to use them...........
ahhhhh!!
I am so technically challenged,
that is why we still had dumb
phones.........that were 16 yrs.
old, but they were starting to
give us trouble so I finally had
to concede......lol  Have to say
we certainly got our moneys
worth.  lol  It will be nice to
be able to skype lil darling
at times .....especially if we
are away. and learn to text...
and use the camera, so guess
it will be interesting and hope-
fully exciting to come into this
 century....lol
My daughter is very excited
about that..........lol

#12
that we are invited over to
Scott and Megans on Sunday
afternoon.  It has been a while
since we have been there.
Between my being sick and
both of them traveling, our
schedules just aren't gelling!!
So we are really looking for-
ward to getting together for
longer that a few minutes. lol

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another week passed.......
where do these weeks go......lol
So grateful that you come by
to visit when you can.
Hope you have a lovely day
 and Weekend.
Keep your light shining
Brightly!
Love, Hugs and
last day of September
Blessings,
Nellie
