Dee's 28th birthday tablescape - lime green & brown

Hope it is going well...............

Mine is going well, have just been editing pics as a lefty

since my nerve is pinched off again,  so smarting some, 

so will be going to the chiropractor later this afternoon. 

 Thank the Lord for this man..............

Well, below you will see the Birthday girl, this is our daughter

 Dee with our furry blurry grandaughter dog, Rosie.

She decided to turn her head just as I snapped the picture.........

Since her fav color right now is apple green,decided to do a

 table for her in that color. Had planned something different 

using palmetto palm branches,  but they turn brown too fast,

 so hubby saved the day without even knowing it. and wound

 up seeing green flowers in a bouqet mixed with oranges and 

reds, when he went to Sam's  so just decided to grab them just

 for the green flowers, since  he  knew I was doing the table in

 that color.

So here are the chrysanthemums he got and

there are other small ones that are green

too.

 Had planned to put the palm seeds in the glass 

cylinders below,  but again because they turn  

brown so quickly, decided to use limes instead.

as the flowers came with these pretty green

leaves on a stems.

 So got the limes and decided to add some

leaves in with them,  then on Sunday hubby

cut me some palm see branches and I pulled

the seeds off a few hours before and put them

on the table,  that being the lil olive looking things.

 and of course, I also put them in the centerpiece

as well.  Was trying to accomplish a tropical

look as well,  since she loves that too.

Here is the center of the centerpiece and you can

see that I added palmetto seeds to it, and also this

adorable lil turtle my SIL Susan gave me on Friday.

Isn't he adorable...........he is a lil box that opens up
to put jewelry or rings in, but thought he was the
 perfect bling for this table.

I use the egg cups for butter for rolls.

and this was from the other end.

 The girls had fan napkins with a lil vases of flowers

 I just used a stretchy pony tail holder to cinch in the napkin,
that is of course, underneath the flower!

 The guys got folded napkins with these pretty leaves and a
fuzzy type carnation.........they sort of fell apart once I cut the
stems,  so just used pcs. here, and around the limes in the
central centerpiece.  Have never seen anything like it before
nor has my son who is in agriculture, but it defintiely had a
stem that looked just like a carnation stem.  Interesting!

Well, I went to the chiropractor and 

my neck and arm are feeling much

better..........that man really knows

what he is doing!  Today was their

last day before Monday too, as they

are going to a convention, so I was

a blessed lady.  Also, we heard that

they think they found the problem

with our car and hopefully it will

be done tomorrow.  That was good

news..............course, we aren't 

counting our chickens before they

hatch, if you know what I mean!! lol

Good Tuesday Morning to Ya!

This is just a sneak peek of the starting of Dee's Birthday table,

So how was your last 4 days....

since I have talked to you last???

Mine have been good...... fairly busy.  Spent most

of the day Friday with my Sil Susan, catching up

and solving the world's problems (lol),  then spent

 time working on the birthday girls tablescape.  Sat.

 we had to run some errands, and get a smoothie, 

that was a must you know, and do some food prep

and finished the table for Sunday's shindig.

 Managed to get in some wii tennis and exercise. 

 Watched a movie called "There be dragons", 

 that was pretty good with a very good message

from Netflik of course.

Sunday......it was sunday school and church, our

teacher was back this week.   I tell you I am sooo

 enjoying my new ministry at church of greeting new 

visitors and giving them a gift.  It is just so perfect

 for me,  and I truly love every minute of it.  It was

 cute, cause Dee said it was funny I was doing

 this job cause she remembered me saying when

 she was a kid, I could be a Walmart greeter!  lol

I have always liked that they have a greeter at the 
door......and we have had some goods ones,
very sweet and friendly, and you could tell
they loved what they did, but unfortunately,
that was more in the passed I have to say!

It is welcoming if the person is really into it,

and enjoying it,  not just making it a job!!

The family all got here in the late afternoon on Sun.,

and we had a simple yet lovely dinner to Celebrate

 Dee's 28th birthday, can hardly believe she is 28.

where does the time go?????????

All her favs,  London Broil, baked Potatoes, salad

with a creamy parmesan dressing, that  I make, 

 and strawberry shortcake.  We didn't do much

but eat,  yak and catch up, watch her open her

 gifts and be together,  but that is what it is all

 about....right??  A good time had by all.

She loved her table..........I did it in apple green,

as that is her favorite color right now.

tomorrow,  cause I do it on Wed. for Tablescape

Thursday,  since I do a Thankful Thursday post.

Monday I was just out of it and tired,  so didn't

do much but clean up after the party, and put stuff
away then played with leftovers from the table
 decorations..  Tried to see how many different
 things I could come up with using the same things
........that is so much fun to me!

Call me crazy............you will be seeing the results
of my playing in the next week or so.

Still don't know what is happening with our

car,  they actually sent it out to another shop

for diagnostics and to see if they could fix it

hoping to get it back to us sooner, but there 

shop is shorthanded too.  We have seen a Van

that looks like it is in mint condition and  that

 we really like and the price is right, just in case

 they can't fix our car, so still waiting.

We figure if the van is to be ours,  it will be

 there if and when we need it.  So far it is

still listed.................

Hoping to hear something more today 

about our car..................

We have been getting rain every
 day here, not complaining, just 
saying!  and the grass is loving it, 
 course, sometimes when we get
 so much then we get fungus in

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you have been having a 

good week, so far!

Mine has been good altho, we have had

a few bumps in the road,  but that is 

okay too............life is sometimes

all about bumps in the road!

These pictures have absolutely nothing

to do with the post, but they were just

some beachy pictures you haven't seen so

Thought I would show you the last of them,

they are in the living room, and  I know I will 

be changing over to Fall soon, since we only

 have a few weeks of August left. 

 I will probably start changing

over as soon as Sept. gets here, as I am 

starting to feel ready for it.  How about

you,  ready for Fall???...........I am ready

for cooler weather but that will be a

while off for us Floridians, we are just

 praying for a non-active hurricane

season, that will make me a happy

girl..............for sure!!

I am thankful

that whatever the loud noise was in our

house last night at 3 a.m. was nothing.

Think it might have been the ice maker,

but sure woke us up out of a sound sleep

it was soooo loud. Pretty unnerving,

I might add.

I am very thankful

on nights like that... for 2 verses

 I memorized years ago when hubby used

 to travel a lot, as they always help to calm 

me down when I hear noises.  I just keep

saying them over and over to myself until

peace comes,  many times out loud!

It is Psalms 34:7

The angel of the Lord encamps around those

who fear him, and he delivers them.

and 

the other one is Psalm 4:8

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you 

alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

I am thankful

for the verse below my header picture,

and the truth that it brings to us, altho 

it doesn't seem like it makes sense to us,

 it makes perfect sense to the Lord,

because He knows when we do it, that it

brings peace and a different attitude to

us, I call it the sacrifice of praise.

I am thankful that I have a sacrifice of

praise today.We have had our car in the shop

 for 2 days now, and thought we would get it

back today, but our mechanic called and said

 it was all fixed and running fine, and they turned

it off to put some antifreeze in, and could not

get it to start again. The mechanic who worked 

on it is going to be out of town until Monday, 

 and they are very backed up with work, and 

of course, we are praying and hoping that they 

can find and fix the problem as we already have 

about $900 worth of work done.  Anyway, the

 Lord says to praise him in all things, so we praise

 HIM cause we know he has some reason or plan 

in all this, so will be interested to see

 what happens.

I am thankful

that we have a wonderful and honest auto

 mechanic, and sweet brother in the Lord.

He is a fellow that goes to our church and he

 is so dependable and does such a wonderful

 job,  and we know that whatever he says is

wrong with the car is really what is wrong,

so takes all the concern out of taking it to

him, cause we know we can trust him,  and

 he has fair prices.  He owns the shop but

also has other mechanics,  but they are

all honest men.  So we can rest assured

we aren't getting a snow job.

I am thankful

that our whole family will be able to get

together on Sunday to celebrate DeeAnna's

28th birthday.  It has been awhile since we 

have all gotten together at one time.

I am thankful

for paper plates,  as I have decided to take

a lil hiatus this week from dishes.  Since I am

deep cleaning the kitchen,  I am tired of cleaning

it up just to mess it right up again!  lol

of course,  I know that is life with most things,

you clean it and mess it up again,  a lil like

spitting in the wind,  but I thought perhaps for

a few days I could pretend!  lol

This morning was great we had bagels on

paper plates,  so only had a dirty knife and

coffee cups,  and we are still using the cups!

and tonight we have leftovers, so that will

be easy too.

that the gift I was making came out so nicely, 

 and hoping the recipient really loves it!

that I think I have finally nailed down my table-

scape for my daughter's birthday.  Just hoping

it works out as planned, as I am using some

natural things from the yard...............

I finally got Dee's card to print in the right

color........that was good news!!

that hubby got to work at home again today to 

have him home on a Thursday was a nice change.

Wish it could be every Thursday and Friday like

it used to be,  but thankful that he gets Wed. as

we never expected it would get to do that as 

early as he did with it being a new job.

that hubby has had some extra work

from his old job lately.......which will pay

for these car repairs.  God is so good to

go before and prepare the way.
