DeeAnna and Jerry's Painted cabinets & Kitchen Tour

Hi and Happy Tuesday to you
Sweet Friends,

Hope you day is going well.......

Spent part of mine with my daughter, She came over,
we had lunch and she did my hair while we visited,
and then she had to go into work for a few hours after
wards.  Sure was good to see her,  as it has been
awhile, actually not that long but just seems like it
for some reason.

Not much going on here but rain still............can't believe
the tropical storm has passed and we are still getting rain,
think it  must be because our temperatures are rising fast
here in Florida.

Since I haven't been doing any creative playing other
than with Brooklyn,  and no projects I think I told yall
awhile back that  Dee and Jerry (My daughter and
son-in-love) had taken on the big
project of painting their kitchen cabinets, and it was
the first time they have ever done anything like that,
well,  they did a superb job and their kitchen really
looks awesome.

So the last time we were there I asked her if I could
do a post and show yall, so she let me takes some
pictures.  It makes me want to do my cabinets but
I wouldn't want to do them in the expresso, altho
they look awesome, they just wouldn't go in my
house.  She did the bottoms ones in expresso
and the tops ones in white.  Anyway,  see for
yourself................................

This is the right side of the kitchen,  and as you
can see they are in to black, white and red.

In case you don't know you can click on any
picture to enlarge them...in fact, I think when
you do that it enlarges them all now.

This is the lil plaque you see there
above the trash can.

 Their fruit stand

This is their new sink area.....
They just recently had the granite counter tops
put in and the subway tile backsplash.  Thankfully she
works with someone who's hubby does that,  so he
gave them a great price.

This is going on around to the left side

A close up shot.................
This color is called Expresso and they used a kit to do it,
that they got from Home Depot that was on sale.  If you
are interested in knowing the specifics about the paint
just let me know and I will find out for you.

The cabinets were a birch before and had no hardware,
so they had to drill the holes and put the hardware on as well.

This shows the stove top and the beginning of the oven area.

Don't know why I forgot to take some close ups
of the top cabinets.  You really would never know
these cabinets were hand painted,  they really
look professionally done, a few of her friends
were so impressed when they saw them they
painted theirs as well.

This is a nice look at the whole area.  What an amazing
transformation of their kitchen, wish I had some before shots.
Tried to lighten this picture but it didn't look as good.

She bought those topiary balls and then put them on top of
candlesticks.Thought that was a very clever idea, and that
 they look really cute.............

Their eat in kitchen is right next to the oven
there and they have a nice bay window that
overlooks a pond.  wish you could see their
light better,  it is really cute,  it is from Ikea.

Her sign up there says
"kitchens are made to keep families together"
very cute!

These cabinets are right across from the dining area,
We loved her cute rooster,  and it shows a better picture
of the white cabinets,  and then to the right of the cabinets
is her pantry.
Below those cabinets and next to the fridge is a desk area.
Thought I took a picture of that,  but guess I didn't!!  lol
Couldn't find it.................

This is wall art,  and it is on
the wall on the other side of the fridge.
A huge fork.....

Well, hope you enjoyed the kitchen tour.
We were very proud of them,  cause that
is a huge undertaking and to have never
done it before they just did such an amazing
job.......cause truthfully we were a little worried.
Cause painting isn't one of our fav fortays!
They are become quite the DIYer's I have to say!!

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - June 6, 2013

2nd Sunrise captured @ the beach

 May the peoples praise you, O God;
may all the people praise you.
May the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you rule the people justly, and
guide the nations of the earth.
Psalm 67:3-4

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Am running a lil late .............
as you can see!

Hope you are having a wonderful day
and hope you are not in the path of the
 tropical storm.

It has rained here all week, but today the sun is finally shining,
and it is still nice and breezy,  so I have been sitting outside
reading and drinking coffee, and then came in to have some
breakfast....a smoothie, cheese sticks and rice crackers.
Fit the bill...........while I perused a new issue of Summer
Cottage I got for Mother's Day.  It is my 2nd time to look
at it, but seems like the first.time..........
I really enjoy these seasonal magazines.

Thought I would share another sunset we took pics of
while on vacation.......please indulge me,  it is like reliving
vacation again...................lol

I will let the rest speak for itself........................

#1
I am thankful
for fresh clean sheets,  I love the feel of them,
and there is nothing like getting into bed when
they have just been changed.
Physically delicious!

#2
I am thankful
for the gift of prayer.  Because sometimes
when things are out of our control it is the one
and only thing we have,  but really it is the best
thing, because we know who is really in control,
and that is truly a gift that helps are own hurting
and worried hearts.

#3
I am thankful
for vinegar cause it is inexpensive and great for
all sorts of things like cutting the hard water buildup
on the shower tiles, cleaning the coffee pot,  iron,
or dishwasher or for putting in the rinse water to
soften clothes just to name a few.

#4
I am thankful
for the love that my hubby has for our children
and our new grand-daughter.  He is just so
cute with her,  and would do anything for her,
just like he did with our kids.

#5
I am thankful
that we only had a Tropical Storm off the coast
of Florida rather than a hurricane. Course, I know
sometimes they can be bad too,  so hoping that is
not the case with this one.  So am praying to that end.

#6
I am thankful
for my daughter, and for the wise words that she
sometimes speaks to me when I really need to hear
them.  She is a true friend.....

#7
 I am thankful
for a quick resolution to a family situation we had.
God is so good!!

#8
I am thankful
that one of hubbies Father's Day gifts arrived
today,  sooner than I expected,  so that is always
nice,  so I'm not wondering is it gonna get here
on time...........lol

Update: I went ahead and gave it to him early.
It was oatmeal raisen cookies from Tate's
Bake shop!
He loved them...............Cause they are delish!

Thanks Suz for putting me on to these great
cookies, they are really a fun treat for special
occasions.

#9
I am thankful
for all the rain we have gotten in the last 2 wks.,
cause our yard looks so lush and green,  and
because our water bill will be much better this
month,  it was 4x the amount it usually is......
 last month.

Now if we could just get a dry day so we could
 mow it!!  lol
Think today might just be the day!!

#10
I am thankful
that it is so nice and cool outside, and that last week I
decided to put 2 chairs from our back porch onto our
front porch, as we got to sit out there for awhile last night.
It was very nice to be able to enjoy the front yard for a
 nice change of pace.

The sun was getting so bright it made everything
else look dark.

#11
I am thankful
for a movie a friend of mine told me about
some time ago,  and we just got it from Netflix
and it was so good.  It is called "The Help",  it
really shows how people can think they are so
much better than other people.  It was a very
heartwarming movie, and shows how people
should be treated vs how people should not
be treated.  I have seen that many times just
going out to eat and how people treat servers
and stuff,  like they aren't  people or something.
They don't acknowlege them, or thank them.
I find it very odd myself, but a very good
reminder to be careful how we treat anyone,
we come in contact with.

#12
I am thankful
that is was still cool and breezy this morning,
so I sat out front and drank coffee and finished
reading a novel  that Sue over at I need Mom
blog suggested to me.  It was great,  and I
will probably get some of her other books.
The author is Denise Hildreth Jones and the
title of the book is "Secrets over Sweet Tea".

Very enjoyable book, and I must say,
Thanks so much Sue for recommending
it to me.............she is the same Sue that
put me on to the cookies.............she has
great recommendations on her blog all
the time,  so if you have never visited her
you might want to check her out.
Just click here!

Also if you would like to check out
Denise Hildreth Jones website

Well, that is a rap as they say...............

Glad you could stop by,  and totally look
forward to hearing from ya,

Have a super Duper Weekend!

Love, Hugs,  and
Special Sunrise Blessings,

Nellie

Inside Vacation condo - part 2

Good Morning Sweet Friends,

Hope you are having a great day so far.

Our's has been delightful......as our lil darling arrived
early this morning and is  spending the day with us.
She is taking a lil nap,  so figured I would just add this
part,  as the rest was done yesterday.

Well,  here is some more beach themed decorating,
hope you enjoy it..............

Here is a close up of the header picture.  These were
such creative and lovely pictures, tho I thought having the
background maybe a teeny bit darker would have made
things show up a bit more.

I am only showing you the wall decor in the guest bedroom.
cause I just didn't think about the beds for some reason.

Their were 1 of these pictures hanging over each bed,
you can see that the shells are on the opposite side
on each picture.
Sorry for the glare, but it was the best I could get!!

Since we have stayed here before I noticed quite
a few changes and these were one of them,  think
the owner must be working towards that chic white
look.  Cause things were a lot more colorful
the last time.  She still has some of the same
things, but she has changed quite a few too.

If you would like to see last time
just click here!

This was here last time and I just loved it,
but it was in the master Bedrrom.
Sorry it is so blurry but had to take it from
the side so you could see it,  too many
reflections,  but can you see the one
bed that was still made.

You can see a reflection of the bed in
the picture!  lol

Isn't this lil manatee just the cutest!

This was a very colorful picture of this fish,  and just
remembered he was in the guest bath not bedroom.
It reminds me of pictures we used to do in art class,
You would do all these different colors in crayon,
and then cover it over with black crayon,  and then
draw a picture and scrap off the black, and leave
the color,  and that became your picture.

The dining room kitchen area, and entrance on the right.

Kitchen Border

Sign in entry way across from kitchen

Cute tablecloth

Simple but cute beachy centerpiece

Another white beach scene picture to the left of the table,
larger than the bedroom ones.
Sorry for the glare,  but best shot I could get.

They had this last time too.  Made me laugh........and
it is so like lil sandpipers,  they make me laugh
cause their lil legs run so fast.  So cute!

This was taken
right before we left to come home,  hubby was
watching one last epidsode of  HGTV,  looks
like some kind of warning or something on the
screen right now.  The waves were really
churning out there the morning we left.......
it had been very calm all week.

and another lovely egret picture, it was on the
wall  just to the left of that chair you saw in
the foreground.  Both of the egret pictures
were new  too.  The other one was in the
Master bath remember!!

So glad you could stop by, and
sure hope you enjoyed the tour.

Be sure and say hello so I know
you were here..............

If you happened to miss part 1 and
would like to see it Just click here.

Have a Delightful Day!

Hugs and Beachy Blessings,
Nellie

Some inside looks at the vacation condo - Part 1

Morning Sweet Friends,

Hope your day is sunshiny
 and bright!

Mine has been rainy, and overcast, and the sun
is out right now, but I don't suspect it will be for
long as there is a lotta lotta cloud cover today!

Know how we all love decorating and some of
you are really into Coastal decorating,  so thought
you might get a kick out of seeing the inside of the
condo where we stayed, they have some very cute
touches.............and is perfect for a fuss free
 fun time.

The bed in the Master bedroomis covered with
a quilt top, altho it is very pretty, it didn't seem
all that beachy to me, other than it is blue/with
 brown and sand colors,
until I took a close up...........

It sort of reminds me of sea urchins or
 sand dollars.

Loved this lil metal tiki hut that was hanging
in there.

and really liked this fish lamp.
this was a night time shot.

A daytime shot.

and a close up.  Not sure why I like it
so much but I just do.........
Love the color and the detail.

Not the best picture,  but thought it was just a
compass decoration, but on closer inspection it
was actually a clock, but very nautical looking.

Loved this pretty shell dish they have.

Looking down on top of it.  A very beachy
piece I would say!

Loved this adorable lil palm tree lamp
they had on the vanity in the
Master Bath.  Too, bad they have to
have cords.   lol

This pretty Egret picture was in the
 Master Bath as well..................
hard to get a good shot, cause not
that roomy in there...........

Another metal piece....this was in
 the guest bathroom.

These metal flowers were in there too!.

Next post, I will pick up in the Guest
Bedroom and finish the rest of the
pictures inside the condo.

Thanks for coming by .....
hope you enjoyed the
coastal look.......

Look forward to hearing
from you.

Hugs and Coastal Blessings,
Nellie
