Thankful Thursday August 27, 2015, table playing with green #4

But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign LORD
my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.
Psalm 73:28

Greetings Sweet Friends,

So what kind of week have
you had?? Hope it has
been a good one.

Mine has been good, not much
going on since I last posted, other
than watching lil darling, and having
fun with her and having some good
Mexican food from Chili's.........lol

Pictures today are Part 4 of my
playing with green series,
there are 2 more parts, but gonna
take a break from it next week
to show you some of my coastal
 bedroom pictures..............

If you missed Part 3 and would
like to see it, you can either scroll
down from this post or
just click here.

So guess I will get on with it,
since most of my week is in
the post.

I am thankful

#1
for a new banana discovery!!
Ever seen those special bags they
put bananas in to keep them from
turning brown so quickly??  Well, I
 decided to do my own
 experiment..........
so put a banana in one of those
 plastic grocery bags and wrapped
it up and stuck it in the fridge
about a weeks 1/2 to 2 weeks ago.
 Sort of forgot about it.....
and went to put something in the
fridge and saw the bag and thought
oh my gosh, the banana,
so took it out and to my disbelief
it had hardly turned color, and when
I peeled it I expected it to be brown
and super sweet, it was white and
normal.  It did taste a lil bit
different at first but as it got to
be room temp. it tasted normal.
So what a great discovery, cause
our bananas just seem to turn
 brown so fast...............and I only
like bananas that are just turning
from green to yellow....unless they
are in a smoothie or banana bread.
So try it out..........

#2

for the opportunity to help a
young boy who has the most
irresponsible parents I have
ever seen.......so sad!
No child should have to go
thru what this boy has.....
course, it has already made
him a great kid..........

#3

for a fresh batch of homemade
vegetable soup given to us as
a Thank You from a neighbor.
It was amazingly good!!

#4

that our toy organizer shelves
I told you about last week came
in on Friday,  so we were able to
 put them together on Saturday
and they look great!  Very happy
with them, and everything is nice
and tucked away and neat and
tidy............perfect..........
It even gave us more room, so
that even adds to the visual look
of the room as well.............
can't wait to see how lil darling
likes it!!

Update:  She seemed to really

like it and helped me carry and
put away the bins....so cute!

#5

that Lord Willing, my daughter
Dee will be coming for a short
visit here in a few weeks.
We are very happy about that,
Of course.............

#6

that my son, Scott has finally
gotten his business up and
 running again.....as hubby has
been working on a website for
him and they have been
conferring about it for quite
some time. It has taken so
long cause they can only do
it in their spare time, as
they both work full time.
So we are all very happy
to see this come to fruition.
Scott already had a very
successful business on ebay
and decided it was time to
 have his own website.
 He sells electronic items,
 such as;
Blue Tooth Speakers
Audio Systems,
Turntables/Record Players,
Home Theatre Equipment,
and will continue
to add more as he goes along.

Be sure and check out his website

below, as I am proud of both
my boys, Hubby for the great
job he did on the website and
for our Son for the great job
he will continue to do with his
business..............
Feel free to pass the info on
 to your hubby's, son's and
friends if you feel so inclined.
His link is also on my sidebar.

just click on the logo,

and it will take you there.

The logo color choice is reminiscent

of his college years as a University
of Florida Gator..........lol

#7
that hubby appreciates all my table
playing, as he knows and gets it, that
this is one of my ways and attempts
to make others feel special and to
make life seem like a celebration.
In my home of origin nothing was
celebrated very much, so  guessI
am making up for lost time........lol
and hubby says, he appreciates
that I bring beauty to his life........
I loved that!!

#8
for people who get me!
Don't you just love when people
understand you and who you are
and why you do what you do.....
It is one of the best feelings in
the world..............and you just
love being with those people.

#9
that I am finally finished (course,
I will proably still do a lil tweaking here
and there, you know how that is)
with my Coastal decorating in the
 Master bedroom.....now that
 Summer is almost over!! lol
Think we are just gonna enjoy it for
a while and probably it will take us
thru the Winter at least,  then I can
see what it feels like to live on the
 coast all year round.............lol

Sounds like fun to me............

#10
that I am almost done with our guest
bedroom as well,  did most of it on
Tuesday. I just swapped accessories
from one room to the other, so that
room will have a nice change too.
Just have to change the comforter
and pilows yet...............
I will show you both rooms soon.

#11
for a truly wonderful write up in
the Sunday Newspaper about
 NFL football player Tim Tebow,
and how he is just drawn to
special needs children, and all the
ways he is making such a difference
in the world.  He is truly a young
man to be proud of and a young
man who is a great role model
for today's young people.

Go Tim......We love You and
All that you stand for!!

#12
for a gloriously beautiful double
rainbow and dark sky with silver
lined clouds we saw last night.
All so beautiful..... and all by
God's Amazing Design.
We were suppose to get a bad
rain storm but somehow it dis-
persed around us, and the above
described sky is what we got
instead, so thankful we went
out to get take out, or we would
have never seen it.........lol

Seeing that double rainbow
reminded me of these verses
in Genesis 9:14-16 NIV

And God said to Noah after
the Flood:
Whenever I bring clouds over the
earth and the rainbow appears in
the clouds, I will remember my
 covenant between me and you
and all living creatures of every kind.
Never again will the waters become
a flood to destroy all life. Whenever
the rainbow appears in the clouds,
I will see it and remember the ever-
lasting covenant between God
and all living creatures of every
 kind on the earth."

(Italics print - mine)

Tablescape playing with Green #3

Evening Sweet Friends,

So how was your weekend??
Hope you had a good one.

Ours was good, we got our toy
organizer in on Friday and put it
together and in place on Saturday.
Very happy with the results.  Can't
wait to see lil darlings reaction...lol

Sunday was our normal, Church,
frozen yogurt and ran to the grocery
store for us and Susan.  Susan is
doing very well, but has not been
released to drive quite yet,  but
should be in a few weeks,  she is
chomping at the bit....
Just can't imagine why.....lol

Today I just worked on this post,
yakked for hours with my girl,
and made my Mom's potato salad
recipe and a pot of Kale.  Had them
with some Ham,  and it was a very
good meal if I do say so myself.  lol

Thought oh yea, I need to put my
Mom's potato salad recipe on my
blog sometime soon,  as it is really
a great recipe, and it will be another
recipe stored for my kiddos, and I
am betting you would really enjoy
it too.

Well, here is the 2nd place setting
from my playing with green series.

Remember this pic from last week
where I did 3 place settings with a
green tablecloth, placemats and
salad plates.
I showed you the first place setting
which was the green and yellow one.

This week I am showing you the
 2nd place setting.....
it is simply green and white.

This was the original centerpiece
I started with...............

I used my wedding china, silver and
stemware to make it a more traditional
and formal place setting this time.

and added in some photoshop affects
 as well.....this one has an
Equalized affect with lens flare

See the bird glowing,  that is because of
 the lens flare.

I used the grey ribbon to tie the napkin
because I found it in my stash. and the
print on my china has some grey in it.
So thought it and the lil birdie were a
nice compliment since I already had
some birds in the centerpiece.

with poster edges affect

I always love green and white
as it just has such a fresh look
to it..............

With Equalized Posterized affect

With  cutout affect

and Normal..............lol

Did you notice any changes between
the header pic and this one??
Just checking to see how observant
 you are!!  lol
Let me know what you think the
 change is.......

If you missed the posts from last week
 and want to see them.

Thankful Thursday August 20, 2015, tablescape playing with green #2

When Jesus spoke again to the people,
he said, "I am the light of the world.
 Whoever follows me
will never walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life."
John 8:12

Greetings Sweet Friends,

How are you today??

Hope it has been a good week for
you, know for some of you it is a
bitter/sweet week, glad to be
getting back on a schedule but
not happy to lose your lil darlings
 back to school again.
At least that was typically how I
 felt............I loved having my
kids around, at least 98% of the
time anyway~lol
I also felt like my kids got along
better when they were home
together all summer, and not
spending so much time around
their friends.

My...... it has been a quick week
here, can't believe it is already
Thursday.  I have been doing all
week but can't tell you what I
have accomplished........
Oh, two posts at least!!  lol
and watched lil darling and
made some chicken and dump-
lings but tried to make them
where they tasted more like
Chicken Gnocchi soup from
Olive Garden.  Came pretty
close I think,  but missed my
nice fluffy dumplings tho!
Guess you can't have every-
thing!!  lol

These pictures are a follow up to
 Tablescape playing with green....
from earlier this week. This is
when I did the table for hubby
 and I....and one morning for
breakfast..........

See Post #1 here if you'd like
or scroll down passed this
post..........

Well better hush and get on
with it ...............

I am thankful

#1
for a really great new movie that
just came out this Spring called
"Do You Believe?"
It is very inspiring and thought
provoking, want to see it again
as it is one of those movies that
you are sorry when it's over!
We rented it on Amazon!

#2
for Duke Energy Power Company
who had to come out on Sat. to
fix a blow fuse.  We were only
without power for 2 1/2 hrs.
They are always so efficient,
and we were so happy to have
our A/C back on as it was a
hot day!  So to all of you who
work for a Power Co. (or your
spouses or family do) we truly
appreciate your service to all
of us Americans.

#3
for the couple we team teach
and minister with in the Young
 Marrieds Class. We are almost
always on the same page about
everything, which makes things
so easy for all of us. They are
truly great folks, and we are
becoming better and better
friends all the time, as we
have only known them since
we began this ministry.

Same picture as the one above but with
a Water color affect from photosketcher

#4
that we decided to get a new
way to house lil darlings toys.
We used to just put everything
in her pack and play, but think
I have found the perfect
 solution and it should arrive
 some time this week........
Very excited about that, as it
will also look great with our
new bedroom decor, and sure
make the one corner of our
bedroom look much better too.

#5
for a good time with Scott
Megan and the baby on Sunday
In spite of poor Megan having a
bad headache and not feeling
real great...........

#6
that Dee and Jerry got home
safely from a weekend getaway
to the the beach, to celebrate
her birthday, which was Monday.
and they had a good time and
got a lil sunshine, which they
are starving for.........lol

#7
for my precious daughter!
Since it was her birthday on
Monday think I should give a lil
Thanks for her. she is such
blessing to me and everyone who
knows her and she has turned
out to be my best friend. (When
they are teenagers you can never
imagine that happening!!  lol)
So what a joy that is.......
She is beautiful inside and out,
and has a great head on her
shoulders, and is very thoughtful
and caring towards her parents,
and I am sure her patients that
come thru the mammography
clinic probably love her too, as
she is very cheerful and wel-
coming.  I love watching her
talk with people when we are
 out shopping or somewhere,
she is so gracious and kind to
people.........that's my girl!!
Just can't help but..........
Love love love her!!

#8
for a fairly new dark chocolate
candy bar by Ghiradelli called
Cherry Tango!  If you like dark
chocolate you will love this one.
Oh my.....sooo good!
and remember it's heart
healthy too!!

#9
that we were able to find the right
color bins for our new toy organizer.
I had bought 2 colors but needed a
third and they no longer had it online,
so I was concerned they were dis-
continuing them,  but I called our
Target on Tuesday and they had them,
so hubby was sweet to run by and get
them on his way home. He had already
checked another Target and they didn't
have the color I wanted........so I was
very happy to find them and happy
hubby was willing to go get them!!
He is such a sweetie......

#10
for the gift of prayer.  It doesn't
matter what mood I am in, whether,
sad, fearful, discouraged, angry or
happy, whatever the  emotion.
always feel better once I am able
to talk it over with the Lord.
He is always there to listen, and
hear our prayers, and nice to know
he is working on things even if it
doesn't seem like it right away.

This was my breakfast one morning......
lemon bundt cake with lemon greek yogurt
and whipped cream.  Yum! and coffee, of course!
Can you tell I like lemon!!!!

#11
for some really tasty
 Lemon Poppy seed scones
my hubby found at Target's bakery.
He got them on Tues. night and
they are almost gone,  I am having
a very hard time staying away
from them.............lol

Unlike the gluten free ones I made,
but did turn out okay, in the end.
If you'd like to read about
it click here

#12
for a new olive oil dispenser I got
back when I was in Asheville.  Dee
had one just like I had wanted, that
had the lil cover for the spout but
couldn't find anywhere, so when
we were at Home Goods, where
she found hers,  they had another
one which came home with me.
Hadn't had much reason to use
it up until this week, but have
really used it a lot this week,
so guess that is what reminded
me about it..........lol

Isn't it cute...........it makes
for a nice drizzle when you
are needing it......

Well, that's it for today folks,

So glad you could stop in.

Have a Fun and Fabulous
Weekend
