Help for Adversity - Pt. 4 - Possible Reasons for Adversity

Happy Monday Morning
 Sweets Friends,

So how in the world are you????
Have missed you over the weekend.

We had a busy, yet fun weekend.  Friday we were
still getting ready for our dinner party on Saturday
with Scott and Megan and her family.  I am happy
to report it turned out to be quite a lovely evening.
So nice to know them now with all the wedding
fesitivities coming up.

Sunday was church of course,  then we had the
priviledge Sunday evening of watching them honor
Pastor Tony and Jessica (from over @ Jewels for the
journey and Mother daughter Tango) and then we
had a fellowship after so everyone could say their
good byes and love on them a bit.
Pastor Tony also preached in the morning service
and did an awesome job as always.

It was a very bitter/sweet day and evening!!
Cause they are really going to be missed!!
But we know that God has something really neat
in store for them, or he would not have allowed
this to happen.  So we are waiting to see what
the Lord does!!

Speaking of that .........guess I should get on
with the possible reasons for adversity.

I will probably only get to discuss one today
or it will be way too long, so I will just continue
it next week.

Adversity tip
#5

Remember that what you are going thru may not
have been caused by the Lord because we live in a
fallen world,  but it has passed through your Heavenly
Father's hands and he has allowed it in your life.....
even if the enemy instigated it. God will use it to
your best advantage.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good
to those who love God, to those who are the called
according to His purpose.

Sometimes we can't or don't see that right away, but I
believe we should be looking for anything good that
happens out of a bad situation cause they are there
but we need to be looking for them.

Also remember Satan is nothing more than God's
 errand boy!

Note:  The Job story chapter 1

Also remember Joseph with his brothers that betrayed
him,  and what he said, according to

Genesis 50:20
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for
good to accomplish what is now being done,
 the saving of many lives.

Sometimes the things that happen are just part
of God's plan for us, but  then sometimes......

Tip#6

This is one you might not want to hear, but for me
I think it is definitely one we need  to be  open to,
and very aware of  just in case!

Know that the Lord may have sent the adversity
 your way
because of some disobedience on your part.
(Known or unknown)

(Remember there are other reasons coming,  I
am not saying this is the reason, but there
are times in just might be since that is why
we need a savior in the first place)

Deuteronomy 8:5 says,
Know then in your heart that as a man
disciplines his son, so the LORD your God
 disciplines you.

Hebrews 12: 5-11 says,
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,

6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating
you as sons. For what son is not disciplined
 by his father?

8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone
undergoes discipline), then you are
illegitimate children and not true sons.

9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who
disciplined us and we respected them for it.
How much more should we submit
to the Father of our spirits and live!

10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as
 they thought best;
but God disciplines us for our good,
that we may share in his holiness.

11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time,
but painful. Later on, however, it produces
a harvest of righteousness and peace
for those who have been trained by it.

So for me, I always think it is a wise thing to start here,
by asking the Lord to search my heart to see if there is
any wicked way in me, or if there is any sin he is trying
to reveal, or if their is sin He has already shown me.

Psalm 139:23-24, says David asked

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
 Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

If we are wise.....
should He shows us something,
we should be confessing it quickly and
asking for his cleansing, and then the
adversity will probably cease quickly.

1John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins and
purify us from all unrighteousness.

But......................
It could be that your adversity is coming from
God's pruning shears.............
and we will talk about that next week.

Thanks for coming by
hope you enjoyed your visit............
and
Hope you have a Marvelous Monday!!

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - January 27, 2011

(Aren't these beautiful Roosters, I think they came from
Sonny over at 155 dream lane)

Well Sweet Peas
Can you believe it............
 time for Thankful Thursday
once again,

Hope you have had a great week,  but if not,
Welcome..........maybe you will feel a lil better
when you leave,  at least I hope so!!

It has been somewhat of a busy week,
mostly cleaning and planning, but a
very good week.

On Monday we went with my SIL
Susan, as she had to have a test done
 so my
#1
I am thankful
is that her test came out fine.
Those type of things are always a relief!!

#2
I am thankful
that she was feeling so well afterwards,
cause I thought she might be feeling out
of it and groggy,  but she felt so good
we were all able to go out to lunch
together,  her treat!!  How Sweet!
and such a fun surprise for us!!

#3
I am thankful
for the surprise visit we had from Dee
on Monday evening as well.  She has
been so busy between work, her online
schooling (cause she is trying to finish her
BA Degree by summer), and fiancee we
haven't seen her for awhile, and thought
it was gonna be another week  so that
was a sweet surprise, and we got
 to see Rosie too!!  lol

#4
I am thankful
for a fun evening we had with
Scott and Megan again on Sunday.

#5
I am thankful
that I have most of my cleaning done in
preparation for Saturday evening when
Megan's parents are coming.

#6
I am thankful
that Jerry (Dee's fiancee) is loving his
new job!!  We are so happy for him.
and it is a great job, with lots of perks.

#7
I am thankful
for such a sweet and heartwarming
movie we watched last night.  It is
a true story, and if you haven't seen it
you should.... it is wonderful.  It is called
"Hachi",  it is about a dog whose owner
died and he waited for him for 9 years.
Amazing Story, and make sure to keep
your tissues handy!!

I always say we could learn a lot from
dogs!!  They are such loving creatures,
sometimes I think the Lord uses them
like angels.  Cats too really!

One night we had someone here who
was crying, and our cat did not know
them,  but Molly our cat came right over
and stood up on her hind legs by the
side of her chair and just stared into her
face with such concern, like are you okay.
We had never seen her do that before.
The person was very touched by it too!
and said I want to take her home
 with me!  lol
and now I just have to say

#8
I am thankful
for loving pets and animals.  We have
had some precious pets over the years,
and now we have Molly and she is such
a sweet cat,  and then we have our grand
daughter dogs, Rosie and Joey.  They do
bring such fun and love to our lives.

#9
I am thankful
for a wonderful Christian lady, speaker
and author named Joyce Meyer.  I have
learned a boat load of great things from
her that have really helped me in my
walk with the Lord over the years.
I am presently reading one of her books
called "7 Things that steal your joy",
and it's great as always!!

#10
I am thankful
that I have my menu planned and my
shopping done, and my table planned
for our dinner with Megan's family
on Saturday.  We are really excited
about it and looking forward to it.
and
I am thankful
I was finally able to figure out what
I wanted to do with the table.  I was
playing for awhile last night trying to
come up with a centerpiece.  I came up
with quite a few but was having a hard
time making up my mind. I took pics of
all of them, so I could compare them,
so finally made up my mind today! Yea!!

Will probably post it next Wednesday.
Great thing is.... I can use the other
ideas for other times so I don't have
to work or think about it so much.
Here's a lil sneak peek.

This was my playing picture........

I have already changed it somewhat,
but these are definitely the colors
and bones of it, cause I have my family
and dining room done with red
accessories.

I made some cute lil place cards today!!
and was very happy with the way they
came out.  I just love doing stuff like
that!! I find it to be so much fun.

#11
I am thankful
for the gift of prayer.  Thankful that we
can move the hand of God by praying
for others, and that others can move
the hand of God by praying for us!!
What an amazing Gift!!

#12
I am thankful
for a nice long chat I had with a
dear friend yesterday, it is always
a joy to spend time with her whether
in person or via phone.

#13
I am thankful
for all the new bloggers that have
come by to visit lately, and that I
have found some new blogs to follow.

I really follow way more blogs than
are listed in my sidebar....just never
get around to putting them in my
sidebar cause I really don't remember
how to do it,  quite frankly,  so must
get hubby to help me one of these days.

Well,  Sweet Folks,

Thanks so much for your visit
 and
your sweet comments,

Hope you have a Fun Friday,

Love,  Hugs,
 and Florida Blessings,
Nellie
