Welcome to Thankful Thursday - November 29, 2012 and impromtu pizza night table

Fall pic from last year...........last pics of Fall till Fall 2013  lol

Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above
 the earth and the heavens.
Psalm 148:13

Evening Sweet Friends,

Know lots of you are having a ball
 with your Christmas decorating,  have
seen some pretty sights in blogland
 already.

Looking forward to more, and looking forward to seeing
some in my house!!  lol
I am a lil slower getting started this year than usual, and
not too thrilled about it either, but life is what happens
when your making your plans, ya know!!  So I have
learned.........you might as well accept it and just go
with it,  cause the more you fight against it the more
 miserable you get......................do I hear a hearty
amen to that!! lol  I hear ya!!

Well, gotta get this finished up, so gonna get
started on my list.  I swanee, I always feel so much
better when I finish this post, especially if it has
been a trying week,  and this has been one
of those..............................so here goes!!

#1
I am thankful
for all the work we have gotten done in the garage,
it looks so much neater and we have so much
more room as well.  Also it is a project we have
wanted to tackle for quite awhile.  Not quite
finished but we wil get there,  may not be till
after the first of the year tho...............

These pics are of an improptu pizza night and have
absolutely nothing to do with this post but just had
them and never got to post them so thought
might as well post them!!

#2
I am thankful
that all my Fall things are packed away and
I am finally getting started on christmas a little
bit,  haven't gotten much done this week, due
to Dr. appts, my back, and a situation we have
 been helping someone with...............

#3
I am thankful
for christmas music....I really needed it today,
it is just so uplifting.............and I also took my
CD player and listened to it while they were
drilling my teeth.  Love that it drowns out some
of the sound of the drill, and keeps my mind
off the drilling as well,............well, as much
as it can anyway!!  lol

Even impromptu and paper goods can look nice.

#4
I am thankful
that my crown prep went well at our new dentist.
She did a great job and it was painless.............
love that part!!  She also called me today to
see how I was doing.......isn't that great the
Dr. herself called,  and her whole staff is
wonderful.  Such sweet ladies.

 I am thankful
for Megan and what a sweet Daughter-in-love
she is, and how perfectly she fits in with our
family, and today is her 30th birthday, and we
look forward to celebrating with her on Sunday.
We just love her to pieces.

#6
I am thankful
that my sister-in-law's house is coming along
well, and especially this soon.  She had a flood
in her house,  hot water heater broke, and went
all under her new wood floors she got about
5-6 months ago.  They have been working on
the floors the last few days,  so she will hopefully
we getting back to normal here in the next week
or so.  It took us a year to get back to normal
when our house flooded, course, it was our
entire house, and we had a Mother-in-law in
a nursing home that we were trying to attend
to as well,  so that slowed things a lot!!
But we were incredibly grateful when it was
all done and for the lovely results that we
could have never imagined.

#7
I am thankful
that it has been so nice so we can walk outside
again.  Cause that is all I can do right now, and
at a much slower pace, than I am used to doing
till this back and tendinitis thing completely clears
up.  My scales are rising.  I had lost 3 pds. and
have now gained 4,  but I am grateful I had lost
the 3 before or the scales would even be higher.

#8
I am thankful
for this really neat peacock blue open front
light weight sweater I found at Sam's on Wed.
It was only $17.00 and goes great with a skirt
I have,  so think it will make a nice outfit.

#9
I am thankful
that we will get to start teaching again this
quarter in Sunday School.  It has been a
while,  but we had some folks ask,  and we
had been feeling like we would like to.....
so those lil nudges helped make up our minds.

#10
I am thankful
that Dee and I are gonna get to do a lil
Christmas shopping and lunch together
tomorrow.  She finally has a day off,  so nice
I get to spend half of it with her.  Her hubby
gets off at 2,  so then it is his turn.

We actually wound up having till 3:30,
and had so much fun together,   it was a
delightful love gift that I really need.

#11
I am thankful
for Neutrogena anti residue shampoo,as my
hair has a wierd texture again on top and couldn't do
anything with it.  Hair spray build up again, and I only
spray the top lightly. This shampoo is great tho and
took care of the problem the last time I had it, so
hopefully will do it again, have to wait and see
as my hair is still wet.....................lol

Update:  Once I blow dried my hair it came
out so much better and was more manageable,
but  think I just need to use it once or twice  more.
Now that I think about it.....had to do that
the last time too.  I put it on my dry hair, then
let it sit a few minutes before washing it out.
This stuff really works well.................

#12
I am thankful
for Pastor Andy Stanley and what a great teacher
and bible story teller he is...........we are doing
on of his series this quarter called "Staying in
Love".  We have seen it already,  and it is really
good. it's a marriage class, of course!!

Well, folks..............
that's my list for this week!

Thanks for stoppin' in,
love reading your comments.

Have a wonderful Weekend.

Love, Hugs and
Last Day of November Blessings,
Nellie

Thanksgiving Table 2012

Hello Sweet Friends,

How in the world are you??
Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving
and by now you are decorating your
lil hearts out!!  lol

I thought I would be decorating by now,  but we
wound up working in the garage Friday and
Saturday, made a lot of progress that we are
very happy with,  but only got the decorations
out,  and got the Fall stuff  taken down and
packed away.  Still struggling with my back
at times, so have made 3 trips to the chiro-
practor in the last week and a half,   It keeps
popping out of place and then I am back in
pain again, so it is slowing me down quite
a bit.  Everytime I thing I am about there,
I throw it out again...................the word says
count it all Joy,  and I am trying,  but some
times I have to say I count it all Noy,  like in
annoying!!  lol

Well, thought I would show you a picture of
our new dining room light.  This was right
before I started setting the table for
Thanksgiving!  Meant to get one with the
table all set and the light,  but forgot!!
Too much ibupropfen!!  lol

I have to say we are really enjoying it!

Took me awhile to get used to it tho, cause our
other one was smaller and understated,  so this
one almost looked to stately at first,  cause that
was all I saw when I looked over there,  but I am
loving it now.......................

Just happened to find these napkins at Michaels several
months ago and thought they were so pretty and perfect
for Thanksgiving!

Sorry this is so blurry couldn't tell when I took it,
it say to be thankful for the lil things in life!

Found these adorable pine cones ornaments at the dollar tree
and thought they were a perfect compliment as well.  Didn't
wind up using the place cards after all, but thought it looked
cute stuck in the fork.

Since we  were having a brunch,  I used cups
 and juice glasses

Took this right after I finished the centerpiece

Here's my newest pumpkin again,  she got the
place of honor the whole season!

Decided to add a few others,  I remembered seeing
all those pumpkins made from Bathroom tissue rolls
last year, so had some gold napkins and just decided
to try it out............................

I thought they came out pretty cute,  and I cut some twigs to
use for stems.

I found these lil pinecone and acorn embellishments
at Michael's the same day I found the napkins, so
got them not really knowing what I would do with
them...........so decided to stick them on the candle
cups.  Was a lil worried they might be sticky and
messy when I took them off after the heat from
the candle,  but they peeled right off and I stuck
them right back on the plastic they came off of.

Did you notice that I also used napkins to do sort of a runner!

Decided to add the taller glasses just because they looked nicer!

 A nice overview

same pic,  just with a posterized affect.

 Cut out Affect!

 All lit up!!

It was truly a delight!!

Welcome to Thankful Thursday, November 22, 2012

Thou art worthy, O Lord to receive glory and honour
and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy
pleasure they are and were created.
Revelation 4:11

Good Morning
after Thankgiving to You!!

Hope your day was Wonderful
in every way!!

Our's was great, we really had a lovely day,
start to finish.  I will sort of tell you about
it as I give my Thankful's.

#1
I am thankful
for the special day we had, and that we
were able to see those that are the most
precious to us on this day...Scott and Megan,
Dee and Jerry and Susan my SIL, and of course,
Rosie our furry granddaughter dog.  Next year
this time we will have a 8-9 month old human
granddaughter.  We are so looking forward
to this blessed event.

#2
I am thankful
for the bountiful and delicious food we
were able to partake of........a breakfast
casserole, Brocoli, ham and cheese quiche,
Bacon and Turkey sausage, Pillsbury orange
and cinnamon rolls,  and a fruit salad.
All good.........nothing not to like!! lol
and it all turned out splendidly.

In case you didn't read one of my earlier
post,  we just hosted brunch this year,
as the kids all went to their in-laws
homes for dinner this year.

I wish I could tell what he is eating!!

#3
I am thankful
that Dee and Jerry came really early
just so we could cook together,  haven't
had a chance to do that in a while, so
that added to our fun!  She found a recipe
for a to die for breakfast casserole which
will definitely probably be a new tradition
anytime we have brunch from now on.
One of the best I have ever had,  so
will share the recipe with yall hopefully,
next week.

#4
I am thankful
for games, as they make for fun times
with the family.  We played one called
"20 questions" yesterday and have many
times before.  Great game for just sitting
around the family room.  They give you
the category,  people, place, date or
thing........then you have 20 clues to
try and guess what it is......quite fun!!

This lil squirrel likes to move around a lot as he eats.

#5
I am thankful
that after the kids left we had a lil
time to take a nap, which refreshed us
all and made the rest of our night even
 better I think.

#6
I am thankful
that we (Hubby, I and my SIL Susan)
did go to Cracker Barrel for dinner as
planned.  We got right in, no waiting, and
everything was delicious there as well,  and
no cooking or clean up after.............Yea!!
Course, hubby said it was good but our
brunch was way better...........lol

and it was really fun checking out the
gift shop as they had all their Christmas
stuff out.  They have had it out before, but
there was way more than the last time we
 were there,  so many pretties.

Adult Ibis w/ one youngster (the gray one)

#7
I am thankful
for Cracker Barrels Chocolate pecan pie,
it is one of my fav's,  I usually order one
from there every year for Thanksgiving.
Didn't this year but had a piece after
our dinner, and it was scrumptious as
always............it is best if you just pop
it in the microwave about 30-60 seconds.
just enought to melt the chocolate.
and YUMMO!!

#8
I am thankful
for the sweet and pleasant server we
had there,  a really sweet young man.
We left him an extra big tip for being
so positive when he had to work on
Thanksgiving.  Not everyone is like
that for sure................

Such pretty birds............love their orange bills and legs

#9
I am thankful
that hubby and all the kids have the
long weekend off.  They are each
really looking forward to it.

#10
I am thankful
for and to the Lord for his mighty Love,
 provisions, promises and incredible
blessings to us all year long and our
whole life long.........................
He is the BEST!!

#11
I am thankful
for God's lil love gifts to us..........last
Sat. morning I woke up to a front yard
full of reminders of his presence. First,
a lil squirrel eating away in our tree, and
as he caught my eye, as I was walking
by the window, then I saw a group of Ibis
and they came over into our yard, and
right after that a Hawk touched down on
the ground and scooped something up,
don't know what, then he flew up in the
tree and scared the squirrel who ran up
the tree and then he flew away.  All of
this happened within about a 2 mins.
span,  if it was that long.  I love these
encounter with God's creatures, they
just really bless me!!
All pics compliments of last Saturday! lol

#12
I am thankful
for traditions that we have that are
just fun to look forward to like putting
on the first Christmas CD's,  and
drinking our first glass of eggnog and
kicking off our Christmas decorating,
those are our traditons for the day after
 Thanksgiving and there are many
others to come through out the season.

For us, it truly is the most Wonderful
time of the year.....Mostly because
of who's birthday it is we celebrate!!

Well, sweet friends..........

That would be my list for
this week.

Hope you have a Blessed
weekend, and that maybe you
are still enjoying visiting with
 those you love the most.

Enjoy all those leftovers!!  lol

Love, Hugs, and
Blessings Abundant
to You and Yours,
Nellie
