Thankful Thursday September 23, 2021, and a neutral could be Fall kitchen table

 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.
For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.

Psalm 52:8-9 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

and

Welcome to the Fall Season!

It has finally arrived and hope you will be enjoyingall the wonderful things that Fall brings to mind. Fall makes me feel very nostalgic,  as I remember as a kid going to football games( mostly to socialize) and it was cold so we had to  bundle up, cause they were at night, raking and burning leaves,  getting to wear some sweaters and long sleeves to school (which you had to take off or practically die in by 11 AM...  lol)  Fall carnivals, and candied apples, and I could go on.........but I will spare you as I know you have your own sweet list....

Have to say Fall is the only time I love Fall colors in my home!  lol Cause Fall colors make the house feel warm and cozy which is not what we want here in Florida  during our Spring, Summer and quite a few Winter Days too. So enjoying the change of faking myself out that it is cool outside, course, I lose that illusion the moment I walk out the door.  lol

Pictures today are of a neutral kitchen table, from the past, so I am gonna ease you into Fall cause I think it also has a Fall look as well............

So on with my Thankfuls......

#1

Thankful to get to talk to another long time friend

recently,  it's like we just pick up where we left

off..........love that!  She lives in Alabama and

I live in Florida. I have know her for over

50 years,  I worked with her only months

before I married my hubby.

#2

Thankful my Sister-in-law continues to do well,

She is supposed to get moved to rehab soon.

Note;  She was moved to rehab on Sunday afternoon.

She is coming along well, but these things take time.

#3

Thankful for how chatty lil darling was this

week when we picked her up from school.

Sometimes she is tired and doesn't feel like

talking, so we get a kick out of it when she

 is so talkative.

#4

Thankful for ice cream sandwiches. They have been

 our go to dessert for about a month or so. we just

split one, and it the perfect amount to make us happy!

We have lil darling hooked on them now too.  lol

#5

Thankful for our church service this morning,

it was really a good sermon out of Habbakuk

chapter 1 and 2.  Didn't get to go out with our

friends today as we had to run to the store

and to take care of Susan's pets.

#6

Thankful that Susan finally got moved to the

rehab center today.  It is one that is affiliated

with our Church Denomination.  We have not

been able to see her cause of Covid, and was

hoping to go see her today, but visits are by

appt. only, so there was no one there to make

an appt. for today,  so have to wait and call

tomorrow and see when we can go.  She is

not in pain, and is walking with a walker

some,  so they just have to get her built up

physically with exercise and eating well, and

also get one of her meds straightened out

it was extremely high and might have also

been responsible for her fall.  Since the levels

are going down she is a lot more clear minded,

which is great.

#7

Thankful that we didn't wind up going just to take her

 phone charger and drop it off, because thankfully we

 found out she has a phone in her room, so we could wait

 till we go visit.  Cause later today we found out thru

 talking to her that we have the wrong phone charger,

so would have been a wasted trip.

#8

Thankful for a very encouraging conversation

with some young people at our church (in their late

 30's-early 40's) that we have known a long time,

 and what a great and faith filled outlook they

 have on life and how they are really trusting

 God in all the craziness there is going on.

 Really blessed our hearts.

#9

Thankful that I Talked with another longtime

 friend this week, that I haven't seen or talked to

in a long while other than commenting on face book

occasionally.  I saw on face book her Mother just

 passed away on Monday. I always marvel that

 it is like we just saw each other yesterday.  Just so

  natural and normal.  It was great to talk to her

 even under/ and because of  the circumstances.

#10

Thankful for Zyrtec...........or I think I would not

 have gotten any sleep at all last night.  Our allergies

 are acting up big time because I am allergic to birds,

 cats and dust, of which all 3 are at my sister-in-laws

house.  Hubby is allergic to cats too, but think maybe

 more,  as he had to take one too.  So we had no sleep

 until about 5 a.m., and got up at 10 a.m. so feeling

 pretty dopey headed today!!  lol

It just makes me so tired and drowsy feeling

the next day which is why I put off taking it so

long.............but so thankful it does work when

I have to take it...........hopefully we will sleep

like a rock tonight.  lol

#11

Thankful for a McDonald's "Caramel Frappe"

that helped pull me out of some of my tired and

 drowsy dopey headedness today, and it was

quite delicious I might add.

#12

Thankful for a fun night out looking for a new

computer chair, as mine just broke yesterday.

Didn't find one, but did get some ideas and saw

one online I really like, so gotta do a bit more

research before I decide.  While we were out

we went to TJ Maxx, our Fav Mexican restaurant

and even for Jeremiahs Ice cream, and it was

yummy and to cap it off we saw this huge

harvest moon as we turned onto our street.

It was really beautiful!

Have to say it was a much needed night

out as it has been a busy and crazy week,

and I really didn't even want to go, but

hubby did, and I am so glad I pushed myself

to do it, as it was good to get out and enjoy

life a little.

Well, that's our week at Cozy Place.

Thanks for swinging by.....

Have a great weekend

and

keep your light shining brightly!

Love, Hugs, and

Nellie

Happy Sunday Monday

Sweet Friends,

Here is the verse for today.

Sorry I am so late,  I had it all ready, but

with everything going on..... I completely forgot

to post it.   lol

Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

Thankful Thursday September 16, 2021, and Fall Flowers

In God we make our boast all day long,
and we will praise your name forever.
Psalm 44:8

Greetings Sweet Friends,

How you are all doing well and are
having fun decorating for Fall since it is
right around the corner.  Well, we had a
little excitement around here this week!
Some good and some not so good,
I was excited to finally be getting some
Fall decorating done, and then our 2nd
excitement happened mid week, my Sister-
in law took a Fall, and we had to evac
her to the hospital.  She is okay, better
than we anticipated Thank the Lord.
You will read about it below.

Pictures today are of Fall Flowers

Hope you enjoy them!

So on with my Thankfuls.....

#1 and 2

Thankful for a great day with lil darling on

Friday.  She did a great job on all her school

work, and we managed to have some fun

as well.  Also Thankful that she and our Son

got to stay for dinner and we all  played some

wii bowling.  It was a very good day other

than my limping around on my foot cause it

was hurting,  not sure what it is or if it

is possibly gout.  Just woke up that way.

crazy!

#3

Thankful for lil darlings sense of humor

and her hearty laugh, which makes me laugh

all the harder.

#4

Thankful that I had nothing I had to do

on Saturday and Sunday, so I could stay off my

 foot and keep it elevated all day, even tho I was

 bummed cause my plan was to do Fall decorating,

and to go to church on Sunday. Well, life is

what happens when we are making our plans.  lol

My foot seems a little better at least, so hopefully

that is progress. ( Written Sunday evening)

#5

Thankful my foot is better, and hoping to be

able to do some Fall decorating tomorrow (Monday).

#6

Thankful that my Sweet Hubby took such good care

of me so I could stay off my foot, and it sure paid off.

My foot was back to normal on Monday but was

still limping some due to the muscle in my leg from

walking funny when I did have to use it.

But could sure be worse.  lol

#7

Thankful that  Chick-fil-a and Tijuana Flats

made dinner for us the last few nights.  lol

Very grateful for restaurants and take out......

#8

Thankful for a new movie we saw in the Theatre,

 on Monday Evening called "Show us the Father".

It was excellent, and we would highly recommend it.

  It is another Kendrick Brother film: in case you

don't know they made "Fireproof" and War Room"

and many other good movies.  They do really great work.

#9

Thankful for a late dinner after the movie at

Perkins.  It was nice to get us out of the house

for awhile.

#10

Thankful that although my Sister-in-law fell and we

had to call an Ambulance.  She was not hurt too badly.

Since she has had both hips broken and had surgery

years back, It is a miracle that she didn't break any

thing in her hips. She does have a pelvic fracture

 but we thought she was going to have to have surgery,

 but she isn't....that is a huge Praise.  Not sure

what the next steps are yet, but think it might be

rehab and theraphy.

#11

Thankful that my hubby had the opportunity to help

a friend of ours Daughter with her Geometry, as she

is a great student but is having difficulty learning from

the teacher she has.  Think she has a better grasp

on things after today hopefully.

#12

Thankful that my Daughter had a patient write

a sweet letter about how kind and helpful she was to

her, and she sent 2 boxes of donuts along,  so the

whole office could have some, and she said it just

perked up the whole office.  What a kind yet

simple thing to do.....think we are gonna try to

 do something like that for the nurses/staff on

our Sister-in-laws floor at the hospital.

Well, that's it for Cozy Place this week.

Thanks for coming by

Hope you have a Wonderful Weekend.

Love, Hugs, and

Mid September Blessings,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday, September 12, 2021, and Fall decor from the past

 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe
Hebrews 12:28 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you have had a good week, and I am sure some of you might be experiencing some cooler weather, I hope so for you!  Cause it is still hot as blue blazes here. lol But It's been a very good week anyway.

Pictures today are from A Fall Past in our home.

So on with my Thankfuls

#1

Thankful that lil darling told me she was prayinfor her lil friends grandfather, cause he somehow hurt his leg and had to be in a wheel chair and her friends were very worried about him.   So precious..........

#2

Thankful for a great day at church and that we got to go to lunch with our friends as it's been about a month since we have seen them, as they were gone and we missed a Sunday, so it was fun to hear about their trip and to have a pleasant and fun lunch at Olive Garden.

#3

Thankful to find some low sugar/ Almond cookies that we love, and our Publix grocery store was out,  but we were able to find them at another Publix.  They are only 4 gms of sugar per cookie. They are great with a cup of coffee or glass of milk. I think They taste like gingerbread cookies.

#4

Thankful for leftovers from Olive Garden, which will probably be dinner for tomorrow night.  lol

#5

Thankful for a fun surprise drop by visit from a long time friend, We see her at church every Sunday but just haven't had a chance to sit down and really catch up.  So a nice way to celebrate Labor Day since we didn't have anything planned.

#6

Thankful for homemade brownie sundaes to celebrate Labor Day. They were truly yummy.

#7

Thankful for an amazing answer to prayer for some dear friends. They had a situation that could have really been a disaster socially, spiritually and emotionally, that the Lord just turned around in a day and left us all in utter amazement.  The Lord is so good, and awesomely amazing. Only God could have done it.

#8

Thankful that I finally have kicked off my Fall decorating.  Love decorating for Fall especially inside, cause it is so hot outside.....so it kind of fakes us out. lol

#9

Thankful for what we feel is a huge answer to prayer that we have been praying about for months.  We are beyond thrilled.

#10

Thankful that we have heard of 2 more things that they can use to help save the lives of covid patients if the CDC will just let them use it.

#11

Thankful  for several others answers to prayer this week as well.  It has been a very good week for us prayer wise.  lol

#12

Thankful that there were no problems in Florida that we heard about any way from TS Mindy. Some rain and thunderstorms were all we and our Daughter had.  Perfect!

#13

Thankful for a joke (or at least I hope it was a joke) I read on facebook last week, that just makes me laugh every time I think about it.

You may have seen it too, but I will tell you about it.

A man's wife sent him a picture thru text, of a dress she was trying on at a clothing store and asked him if it made her backside look big.

So wanting to be encouraging he text back right away.... with NOO!

After sending it he saw his phone auto corrected it with MOO!

When he saw what it said..........he said someone help me please!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So we thought this was hilarious but couldn't help imagining what his wives face must have looked like when she rec'd it.  lol
I am not fond of auto correct for that very reason, my phone has said some crazy things at times..........
So we have been Mooing a lot this week and laughing our heads off.
Laughter is good medicine,
the bible even say so... lol
So hope it is as funny to you as it was to us!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well, that's it for our week at Cozy Place

Thanks for stopping by......

Have a great rest of the week,

Love, Hugs, and

Happy September Blessings,

Nellie

Scripture Sunday

Happy Sunday Sweet Friends,

Here are the verses for today!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:5-7

I heard some great advice from
Pastor Jeffress from Texas.
(This is not verbatim from him, I am passing it on in my rendition of it)

He said to get out some paper and
pencil (or pen) and write at the top
of the page...... "Things
that are worrying, bothering or troubling me"
 at the top of the paper, then
go down and list all the things
that are worrying, troubling
or bothering you, then once you have
finished your list, go up and cross out
"Things that are worrying, bothering or troubling me" and write in
"Prayer List", and then make it your prayer list.

This describes exactly what
Philippians is saying.....and when
we do it, God hears, and we unburden our hearts and he gives us the peace
that passes all understanding.
It is also a good idea to thank Him
for those things as well, and you
don't have to want to, we just need
to do it, and it is amazing how HE
changes our heart.  I believe He
gives us these direction more to
help us than for any other reason.
So if we don't ever do what He
says we will never experience
what He promises.

Have a lovely Sunday

Hugs, Nellie
