Just a quick Hurricane Update!
Sorry this has taken so long, but we
have been without power since around
3:45 a.m. last Thursday when the storm
was arriving. Thankfully Scott and Megan
got their power back before noon on Sat.
so we went to their house, and just got
home about an hour ago. (Monday)
We are all fine......no damage to us or
any of our family's homes. Just debri in
the yard and no power or landline phones.
and maybe some frayed nerves!! lol
Have to say it wasn't what I would
call a fun time, but it definitely was not
as bad as Hurricane Charlie 12 yrs.
ago......Thank the Lord! The back
end of the storm was actually worse
that the front end. Crazy...............
So we had wind till around 9 or 10
at night.....which they said would
die down around 2 pm. It actually
was a blessing tho, as it kept us
cooler..........
Hope any of you that were in the
path did well too..........we were
sure praying and so were many
others, and the Lord did have it
downgrade to a cat 3, and it went
25 miles off shore, so think that
was HIS saving grace to Florida.
Praise God from whom all
blessings flow.............
See ya on Thursday,
Lord Willing...........
Love, Hugs and
Hurricane restoration Blessings,
Nellie
The LORD has surely blessed me! All is well but a short piece of the soffex (that's not spelled right!), 2 screws in a gutter around the porch, and an outside end lamp on the post. My fence on Linda's side is leaning due to all the overgrowth from her side keeping the wind from being able to blow through. The other side of the fencing next to Lillian's is find since it had no overgrowth on it. I need to hook one of Xena's cables to my truck and to the fence and pull it back in line. But Don't worry, I won't do it by myself! Praise the LORD for His blessing!
ReplyDeleteLove you all, Susan
Just found out the spelling (since my computer didn't recognize a word for it!) It is spelled soffit. I looked it up on yahoo. Still it isn't recognized by the computer, ha! Susan
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that you are safe and well!! My in-laws actually evacuated. (They are in Titusville, I think you know.) They went to some friends' over in Tampa. What would normally be a 2 1/2 hour drive took 6 1/2 hours! But they are safe and well! They have lived in Titusville for almost 60 years, and this was only the 2nd time they have ever evacuated. Had to be bad for that to happen!
ReplyDeleteHope Dee and Jerry fared well up there in Charleston.
How nice that Scott and Meghan live close enough that you could stay with them---bet y'all enjoyed that extra granddaughter time!
Love,
Patti
Hi Again,
ReplyDeleteYes, the Lord has really blessed us all so much........to have so lil to worry with....some had trees on their houses over in Deland, and I heard Jaxs and GA. got hit bad, also have you
heard about NC and VA with the flooding. Never expected that and I am sure they didn't either.
Yes, you make sure you wait for Jim to help with that fence situation..........
Blessings, Nellie
Hi Patti,
ReplyDeleteThanks, it is good to have it all over.....it was exhausting, and think I am feeling it more
now than before....lol So glad you inlaws evacuated. Did they go back home yet?? HOw were
things?? okay I hope.
Yes, Dee and Jerry had no problems either, praise the Lord. They did have a tiny leak, but
it was only a few drops then think it sealed itself.
We had a nice time with Scott, Megan and the baby, course, she is not really a baby
anymore. lol We will be watching lil darling Tues. and Wed. as school is cancelled Tues. due to the storms and power situation. So blessed to have them close by.
Take care,
Love and Blessings, Nellie
PRAISE GOD that you and all of your family are safe and sound. I have no doubt that all of those prayers and petitions surrounded you with HIS saving grace.
ReplyDeleteelizabeth
Oh my heavens...........so wonderful to hear from you Elizabeth....it has been such a long
ReplyDeletetime. Hope this finds you doing well too, hon.
Yes, I believe you are so right.....we all feel so blessed to be thru it all. Now my heart
is breaking for those in NC and VA who are flooded out, and I have heard JAX and Ga. have
been hit very hard too, not to mention Haiti.............
Praying for all these dear folks and for a quick recovery period. Have heard nothing about
the Dominician rep., Cuba or Bahamas, so hoping no news is good news. Seems like the new
media only wants to tell you if things are bad.........sad.......
Blessings to you, and hope I can find your blog again now.
Nellie
Praise the dear Lord you are safe and sound with no damage! Oh, God is so faithful to His trusting children! We owe Him so much praise. Thank you for letting us know that you are okay. God bless you and continue to keep you in His care.
ReplyDeleteMorning Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your loving concern for us, and yes, we praise the Lord for HIS
watch care over us and our family, we could never repay how good HE has been to us.
Hope you were not in the storms path......I heard that Ga. and Jaxs, Fl got hit really
bad, but haven't seen anything in the news accept about NC and Va......God bless them.....
what a terrible flood....
Have a lovely day hon,
Blessings, Nellie
