Thankful Thursday January 10, 2019, Christmas Brunch table

I will give thanks to you, Lord
with all my heart; I will tell of
all your wonderful deeds.
Psalm 9:1 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

If I were a betting woman,  which
I am not,  I would bet that you are
having cold weather where most
of you are............and I am happy
to report we are having a few
cold days here.  Yippee!! I am
so enjoying it.....

We are still in process of getting
our home back to normal.
Finished the family room then
took a break Wed. and Thurs.
since those are our days with
lil darling, so will start back
up again today. would love to
 finish by the end of the week-
end at least, so guess we'll see.
Hoping and praying for lots
of creativity today....

Pictures today are from our
Christmas Brunch table that
was done with paper goods
and real flatware, cups and
glasses. I love that we can
make pretty tables no matter
how we do it.

So on with my Thankfuls.

#1
Thankful for just being able to
rest all day last Friday, I did a
few things but nothing that I
just had to get done, which is
nice cause after 3 days of busy
I was worn out, and that one day
was positively rejuvenating

#2
Thankful for a nice long con-
versation with my daughter on
 Friday as well.  She has been
a busy girl training her new
puppy Bentley.  He is just
the cutest, but he is in that
teething stage and chewing
and biting them...so they are
working on that as well as
outside potty training.  He is
doing pretty well with that
and sleeping all night.  He
is a pretty smart lil pup it
seems.

#3
Thankful that hubby fixed the
lighting in my etagere' in the
living room, it had flourescent
lights and one side went out
and he replaced both sides
 with LED lights and it is so
 bright and white and looks
 fabulous.
Mr. Fix it, My Hero!!

#4
Thankful for a really fun
lunch out with our friends
and their Dad on Sunday.

#5
Thankful for a lovely
croissant strawberry dish
that came with bacon and
eggs at Perkins, it was really
 yummy and something
 different.

#6
Thankful we got all our
Christmas stuff down and
packed away on Monday.
It usually took 2-3 days
when I did most of the in-
door stuff myself, and that
 didn't include taking down
 the Christmas tree (just re-
moving the ornaments) and
packing it and the outdoor
 lights, as hubby has always
done that part, but we got
all the indoor and outdoor
stuff done in one day.
Very nice to have the time
and extra help from hubby
now to do things quicker.
and Very Thankful for
his willingness to help.

#7
Thankful that I can move
on with getting the house
put back together. One
room down 3 to go.  lol

#8
Thankful for 2 new food
discoveries this week, one is
Del Monte canned diced
Mangoes, they are so fresh
tasting and delicious, and
Mama's Chicken soup from
Carrabas, never had their
soup but it was a cold night
so tried it, tastes just like
home made.

#9
Thankful for the Lord's
 protection as I came close
to falling several times this
week, but somehow didn't.

#10
Thankful that our first week
back to home schooling went
very well.  Think lil darling
has actually missed it......
especially being at school
and seeing her lil friends.
She was very happy and chatty
when we picked her up from
 school on Thursday.

#11
Thankful for a new magazine
called "Entertain and Celebrate
Winter" formerly called "Winter
Cottage Journal", I think!
 Not sure why they changed it.....
but I was delighted with some of
their quick and easy projects that
 were so cute, which is perfect as
I am redecorating right now.

#12Thankful for a fun night
out window shopping and
having dinner out.  Some
thing we both look for-
ward to......

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, here's to another week
at Cozy Place.....
Thanks for dropping by, and
hope you have a delightful
Friday and weekend.
Love, Hugs, and
Chilly Winter Blessings,
Nellie
Christmas Dinner Table 2018
Happy Tuesday Sweet Friends,
Hope this finds you with your home all
 back together or somewhere in the
 process at least.
That is us....we took down all our
Christmas stuff yesterday and packed
it all away, so today we will begin
the process of redecorating for
Winter....altho we don't know how
 much Winter weather we will get
 I do enjoy decorating for the season.
Know it is late to be showing Christmas
things but I found pics of  3 of our
Christmas tables on my camera last
night... I had forgotten all about, so
will post them this week anyway.....
so I can have a record and in case
some of  you might want to pin
something for next year........
Love this white ceramic Christmas tree
I purchased many years ago at Cracker
Barrel, as she has come in handy many
times as a table decoration.  I can plug
her in or take the plug out and add a
candle underneath, which is real handy
when I use her in a centerpiece
I decided to pair my Christmas
dishes with my shabby chic
dishes this year. I think my
Shabby chic dishes look like
a wreath, if you can see the
embellishments on the edges.
My daughter gave me the lovely
 platter that the tree is sitting on
for Mother's day this year.
See the lil white and gold gift
 on the corner, it just plugs into
the platter. It was made by Nora
Fleming and it has all sorts of
other lil embellishments for
 holidays and other occasions,
and other serve ware pieces
as well. I thought it was a
really unique idea cause it
keeps you from having to have
so many different platters.
She gave me a Santa Hat for
 Christmas this year, looks so
cute on there.
 This unique dishware was
made by Nora Flemming,
and if you want, you can
check it out ..... Click here
or type it in for yourself.
www.norafleming.com
Disclaimer:  I get no profits/
benefits of any kind for sharing
 this; Just sharing it cause I think
it is a neat gift, and I really
like mine.
we just happened to see
this unique idea in a gift shop
 when we are out shopping in
 Charleston in the Spring
last year.
I rarely use the cups and saucers as we
like to use mugs, but this whole set of
Christmas dishes used to belong to my
late Mother-in-law and so it came with
the cups and saucers so decided to use
them as candle holders this year.
Also used clear glass ones with real
cranberries for candle holders as well.
I found these lil hor'derve picks a few
years back by accident,  so thought
they would make the napkins look
 more like candles.
lil darlings place with a salad and
bread plate.  Should have made that
candle napkin smaller, it would
have looked much better!  lol
Used the Christmas goblets
that go with the sets.  They
are clear with Christmas trees
on the front that match the
plates....if you have never
seen them.
Also used the light brown
tablecloth as there is brown in
the dishes as well.
Over Views
With Posterized affect
I always like to add some
candy, so the Andes mints
were the perfect shade
of green......
With Lighting affect
Christmas balls, greenery and faux
snow always come in handy for
 many things when decorating
 at Christmas time.
Glad you came by............
and thanks for the visit, and
hope your New Year is going
Splendidly.
Scripture Sunday
Happy Sunday and Happy 3 Kings Day,
Sweet Friends,
Here is today's verses.
The Magi visit the Messiah
 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem
in Judea, during the time of King Herod,
Magi from the east came to Jerusalem
 and asked, “Where is the one who has
been born king of the Jews?
We saw his star when it rose and
 have come to worship him.”
When King Herod heard this he was
disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
 When he had called together all the
people’s chief priests and teachers of
 the law,he asked them where the
Messiah was to be born.
 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied,
“for this is what the prophet has written:
 “ ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of
Judah, are by no means least among
the rulers of Judah; for out of you will
 come ruler who will shepherd
my people Israel.’ ”
 Then Herod called the Magi secretly
and found out from them the exact
time the star had appeared.
 He sent them to Bethlehem and said,
“Go and search carefully for the child.
 As soon as you find him, report to me,
so that I too may go and worship him.”
After they had heard the king, they
went on their way, and the star they
 had seen when it rose went ahead
of them until it stopped over the place
where the child was.
 When they saw the star, they were
overjoyed. On coming to the house,
 they saw the child with his mother Mary,
and they bowed down and worshiped him.
 Then they opened their treasures and
presented him with gifts of gold,
 frankincense and myrrh.
 And having been warned in a dream
 not to go back to Herod, they returned
 to their country by another route.
Matthew 2:1-12 NIV
Have a remembering and
Blessed Sunday,
Hugs, Nellie
Thankful Thursday January 3rd, 2019, Christmas in the kitchen
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:13 NIV
Greetings Sweet Friends,
Hope this finds you well and
enjoying the New Year.
We have been. Haven't taken any
Christmas decoration down as of
yet, still enjoying them.  Had lil
darling the last few days and she
and her lil friend next door have
been playing the last 2 after-
noons, so they are both
thrilled!!
Pictures today are the last of
our Christmas decorations.
So on with my Thankfuls.
#1
Thankful that I remembered on
Sat. morning that we have friends
in town until the day after New Years
 that we want to go visit with..........
Had completely forgotten about it
since she contacted me around the
1st of December.
#2
Thankful that we got new phones
for Christmas that we can actually
receive photos and videos on.
Our old phones were suppose to
do that but never did....we could
send pics but not receive them.
Strange......
#3
Thankful for seeing one lone
white Egret in our back yard,
first time ever....
#4
Thankful for a lovely new
bath and body fragrance in
my bathroom plug-in called
 "Citrus Pomelo"
Makes my heart sing every
time I get a whiff.....lol
#5
Thankful for the joy of taking
our friends, Father out to lunch
at Cracker Barrel with us, so
they could have an overnight
get away.  She dropped him
at church before they left, as
 he is fine alone but looks for-
ward to going to church and
out to lunch on Sunday. He is
 just such a wonderful and
funny man and just a delight
to be with.
He is a retired Pastor and is
96 yrs. old: he gets around
fine, is clear minded, and
healthy as can be other than
he has some hearing and
seeing loss.  Everyone should
have a grandfather like him.
#6
Thankful that we could help
our friends out in this way
as well.
#7
Thankful for a quiet and restful
New Years Eve...........
#8
Thankful for a great time
on New Year's Day visiting
with friends of 46 years who
were in the areas for Christmas
visiting with family. We got to
see their whole family as well.
Had a really great time.
#9
Thankful for these wonderful
friends, we love them so much
 and they have been such a
 blessing to us all these years.
#10
Thankful that I got to go
to a new store tonight that
I have ordered things from
for my daughter-in-love.
It is called "Marurice's"
and I really liked it.
#11
Thankful that we discovered
a whole new shopping area
in another city fairly close by
where we just never go,
 because of having to return
something at Maurice's.
We will definitely be going
there again soon. has all
our favorite stores.
#12
Thankful for dinner in a new
place called Malibu Grill,
It was very enjoyable and
a nice quiet restaurant as
well.....nice to be able to
hear yourself think for a
change!  lol  Since most
restaurants are so noisy
these days.
Well, that's it from Cozy Place.
Thanks for coming by,
Have a Lovely Friday
and Weekend with those
you love.
Love, Hugs and
New Year's Blessings,
Nellie
Christmas in the dining room
Hello Sweet Friends,
Hope you had a great New Years Eve
and New Year Day.
Wow, a whole new year ahead of us,
only 349 days till next Christmas!!  lol
Thought I would get in my last pics of
Christmas for this year!  I sort of like
having a record of it, so I can glean ideas
or who knows one day I might decide
to do a book or something!  Probably
not, but you never know!!!  lol
These are pics from our hallway
right off the dining room.
I love poinsettias, can you tell.....
they are just so Christmasy
to me!!
Bought these lil lighted battery powered
Angels back when lil darling was just a
 baby cause we thought she would
 like them.....
Well she loved them.... and still does
This is the framed print you
see above.  It is a lovely poem
written by another dear friend
and given to us as a gift, so that
is why I like to display it with
the stack of gifts.
click on the picture if you
are having trouble reading it!
This is a view of the dining room
 from the family room.
We had extra carnations left over from
doing a bouquet for lil darling for her
dance recital,  so I put them to good
use.....as you can see here!
Just added this fun Christmas sign that
was a gift from a friend years back
 and some red wooden beads.
The clock was a gift from my
sister-in-law and the pretty
Thomas kincaide plate a gift
from the same friend I spoke
about above.
Love this angel and she looks beautiful
on top of my china hutch. Course, I
know that in the bible all the angels
were men.....Gabriel, Michael, and
Lucifer....all Arch Angels...but like
her anyway.   lol
This arrangement sits on top
 of the other hutch.
A view from the dining room
into the family room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well, that's all for the dining room
and next post,  I will have a
few pictures of Christmas in the
kitchen.

Thanks for your visit.

Happy New Year to You

Love, Hugs, and
New Years Blessings,
Nellie
