Thankful Thursday March 10, 2022, and The last of our Winter Decor for 2022
Greetings Sweet Friends,
Hope some of you might be feeling better today
about life if you read yesterdays post, at least
that is why I feel the Lord had me write it.....
Photos today are from our Winter Family room,
I have been saying I was gonna show you but
just never got around to taking pictures, so
thought it is now or never, cause we are about
to go into spring............so the next time you
see our home it will look like Spring has
Sprung.......lol
Also a few pictures of some cakes thrown in...
Well, on with my Thankfuls......
#1
Thankful for a few hours with lil darling after
school, then running errands, and out to
dinner with hubby to Longhorn Steakhouse.
#2
Thankful to hear that the precious wife of our dear
Governor DeSantis is cancer free. I have to say I am
not surprised cause she has had practically everyone
in Florida praying for her, I'm sure!!
Thankful that we got our porch chairs all washed
and cleaned up, they were looking pretty shabby.
#4
Thankful for a wonderful birthday party for lil darling
on Saturday. They rented a bounce house with a
water slide and she and 11 of her lil buddies had a
really great time, and all the adults had a great time
conversing and eating as well, since the kiddle's
were all busy playing. It was a sunny beautiful
day, about 83 degrees, but there was plenty of
shade and it was cool in the shade, so it made
for a lovely day for everyone.
#5
Thankful that we finally got to meet and talk
to 4 people that we have heard about from
lil darling, but had never met before, so that
was really nice, and they were all very nice
people. So now we will know who she is
talking about, and we met someone else
we hadn't heard about as well. Always
enjoy meeting new people.
#6
Thankful that one of our friends daughter
who is about 13 wks pregnant, is so far,
doing okay, the baby is fine, but she had to go
to the emergency room because she started
hemorrhaging, but PTL she is home and
doing better and has to be on bed rest and
can not pick up anything over 10 pds.(and she
has a toddler), and is considered a high risk
pregnancy now, so she is coming to stay
with her family for awhile, which was gonna
happen anyway, since her hubby is in the
military and they are in the process of
moving, (long story).
#7
Thankful for an answer to prayer about a situation
that could have been quite awkward and maybe
even a bit volatile, that turned out to be peaceful
and with no tension at all. God is good!!
#8
Thankful for a great report on a little baby named
"Owen" that we, along with many in our church
have been praying about for months now. Back
before Thanksgiving he was still in the NICU
(intensive care) fighting for his life cause he had
breathing problems and other problems as well,
and they were hoping he would get to come
home on Thanksgiving, but were told that it
wasn't likely, but God.... he actually did get to
come home on Thanksgiving and he still had
liver problems and was supposed to have
surgery in the New Year. Anyway, all his liver
function tests are now coming back that his liver
is functioning normally, and also there was a
cancer scare and they have now ruled that out,
and he is just the most adorable lil guy with
these big bright blue eyes. So sweet!
#9
Thankful my hubbies birthday cake came out so well.
I made him his favorite cake " Red Velvet" from his
Mom's recipe (from scratch) and it has been a
lonnnng time since I have done that. Now I
remember why....it take a long time and makes
a huge mess of the kitchen. lol
But it does taste amazing!!
I have made boxed red velvet boxed cakes
with cream cheese frosting, but he doesn't ever
like them as much, but I haven't even made
any kind of boxed cake in a long time, so
I am definitely out of practice. When it's just
the 2 of you.......making a whole cake is just
not practical unless we are having company.
Usually if I am cooking a dinner for the whole
family, then I opt to buy a dessert since our
grocery store has a wonderful bakery.
#10
Thankful for my sweet hubby and that he had a
few nice birthday celebrations. We like to drag
them out for at least a few days, if we can do a
birthday week, that is all the better!! lol
#11
Thankful for some encouraging and kind
comments I rec'd this week, from random and
unexpected people, concerning age related
things, so since I am heading toward 70 yrs.
the end of this month, they were a very sweet
and pleasant surprise gift! lol
#12
Thankful that Season 9 of "When calls the
Heart", just came out. We love love love
this series, and have watched them all
over again many times.
Well, that's it for Cozy Place this week.
Thanks for coming by
and
Have a great rest of the week.
Love, Hugs, and
Early March Blessings,
Nellie

17 Helpful and Practical Ideas for Getting thru this Crazy Life We are Living with our sanity still intact.
This started out as my Thankful Thursday
Post, which was all done, but my opening,
but as I was doing my opening it just
morphed into something else that I really
felt the Lord wanted me to share, cause
I think everyone could use right now.
So decided to do my usual Thankful
Thursday post tomorrow.
So here goes......
How are ya??
I know with all the things swirling around us:
the war on Ukrainian people, poor leadership,
high prices at the pump, and high prices on
everything, issues with schools, and still
struggling with covid restrictions in some
places, and I know for those up north all
these winter storms, it can make us feel
pretty helpless some days, but just realize
we are not helpless and we are not hope-
less because there is a God who is still
on the throne and who knows what is
happening and there are things we can
do. Number 1, we can turn our hearts to
God, and we can pray like we have never
prayed before. Which I might add is the
BEST thing you can do. Number 2, We can
give to a good charity to be a help (We love
Samaritans Purse) cause they go all over
the world and they are ministering to the
Ukrainian people already. Number 3, you
can watch the news, so you do know what
is going on but just don't camp there. We
have been watching the news on CBN,
because it is from a christian perspective
and they only report the news not tell you
what to think about the news, and we only
watch it once a day!!
Number 4, start a Grateful or Thankful
journal and list some things every day,
or maybe go around the dinner table and
say something you are thankful for. This
helps give you perspective, that there are
still good things happening in our life and
the lives of others. Number 5, put on some
good Christian music and sing along or
maybe dance along...........
Number 6, which really could be inserted
anywhere in here, is read your bible,
especially the Psalms, and maybe read them
out loud so you can see them, hear them,
and say them. Number 7, Do something
intentionally nice for someone else, every
day, if possible. Maybe it's a phone call,
a card or letter, a visit, a hug and I love you,
taking someone flowers or food or anything
else you can think of. Just think of what you
would enjoy. Number 8, Go out of your way
to smile and be kind to strangers, as just
about everyone is struggling these days.
Number 9, Tell those that matter to
you that you love them, and give them a
hug, if you aren't used to that, it might
seem awkward at first, but push yourself
to make it a habit, it's possible, as I didn't
come from a background where that was
done, but it is such a habit with me now,
that I have even caught myself saying it to
others that I don't even know, as I hang
up the phone. lol No one gets hurt from
being told they are loved. Number 10,
Remind yourself how blessed you are to
live in the United States even tho we have
problems....we aren't being bombed and
having to leave our homes. Number 11,
Do something creative: Painting, floral
arranging, sewing, cooking or baking, or
decorating your home, gardening, land-
scaping, scrapbooking, card making, or
reading a book or magazine that inspires
you, or taking pictures, or blogging. Do
something you really enjoy.
God is a creative God and we are made
in His image, so these things make us
feel blessed (Happy). Don't discard them
as being frivolous or useless. They might
just be the missing piece to finding more
joy in your life. Number 12, if possible,
sit out in the sun for a few minutes every
day or so, as it boost your melatonin levels.
I realize this is not gonna work for some
of you up north. Number 13, watch up-
lifting shows, movies, or comedians on TV.
Number 14, Be in touch with those you
love and care about as often as possible.
Now a days, it's easy to just send a text
or an email to say hello and brighten
their day, and yours!!
Number 15, Make a Celebration out
of anything and everything you can think
of...I believe God is a God of celebration
and He loves when we celebrate good
things, ex; a birthday, a good report card,
a new job, a new dress, his creation,
someone else's having something good
happen to them, a new baby, and we
could go on and on. Number 16, put
verses from the bible or inspiring meme's
on your blog, facebook or instagram
accts., if you have them. Number 17
comes from another blogger "Create
with JOY", but I do this most of the
time as well, but forgot to mention it,
When you watch the news (like the
Ukrain situation) let it trigger you to
pray about it, rather than grousing
or complaining about it, which does
no one any good.
God's word say in Philippians 4:8-9 NIV
If we are consistent with thinking about and
practicing the things on this list, I feel it's God's
way of giving us a sense of empowerment and
hope using practical ways to live out what the
above verses in Philippians tells us.
Thanks for reading............and hope you
will take away at least one idea away
with you....if you aren't already doing
these things.
and I know there are lots more good and
great ideas out there, cause I keep adding
to my list, so if you have a good idea
please share it with us, so we can add
it to our list of things we can do too.
Love and Hugs,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday, March 3, 2022, Last Winter Table to celebrate 3 Birthdays
The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!
Exalted be God my Savior!
Psalm 18:46 NIV
Greetings Sweet Friends,
Hope this finds you well and at Peace,
with all that is going on in our world
and around the world. We are living
in unprecedented times for sure, but
we know that God is still on His throne
and nothing is taking Him by surprise,
and if you know anything about Bible
prophecy you may understand what
is happening.
Our Job is to do our best to keep our
eyes on Him and to tell everyone about
Him, who is the only true Peace Giver,
Jesus! and I feel a sense of urgency
to tell you.....If you don't know Him yet,
Please don't put it off any longer!!
Salvation comes only from Him, and
he can change your Fear into Peace.
Now with that said......
On a lighter note, Pictures today are from
our Birthday Celebration last weekend.
Our house is still decorated for Winter,
in the family and dining room, so just
decided to carry on the Winter theme
for their Birthdays as well. I typically
do a Spring table..........lol
So on with my Thankfuls...........
#1
Thankful that we have pretty much worked out
plans for Susan, lil darling and Hubbies birthday
celebrations. Hard, but fun too, when there is
3 birthdays within a week.
#2
Thankful for a sweet day with lil darling, as always.
We had no school work today as she is out on
break, so we just had fun all day, and she got
to have her lil friend next door over late in the
afternoon, and they both so enjoyed it.
#3
Thankful we finally had some time to get outside
and water our plants, as we have had very little
rain lately. Maybe light showers that last like
5 mins. if that long.
#4
Thankful that most of my dinner cooking is
done for Sundays birthday celebration in
our family, next is to work on a pretty table
and to make Banana Pudding.
#5
Thankful for a sweet instant message from
a kid who used to go to our church but who
is all grown up now, and married with 3 kids.
We were able to write back and forth and it
was so good to hear how he and his family
are doing. His parents are still go to our
church and when we see them we always
ask about him, cause we have always had
a good relationship with him and his wife.
We haven't know her as long as we have
him, as he grew up in our church and we
just met her once they started dating and
we got to attend their lovely wedding as
well. Such a blessing to hear from him.
Thanks Daniel
#6
Thankful for a lovely time with the family
celebrating all the birthdays this week.
I made yummy cuban food, and Banana
Pudding, the favorite dessert for all of
them. Had fun talking, eating and
opening gifts and playing some
Wii bowling. Fun time!
#7
Thankful that I got 2 - St. Patrick's Day
cards done, along with a number of
Birthday cards for the family, and
several printables.
#8
Thankful for a creative week.
I love that!
#9
Thankful that after 3 days and a number
of phone calls I was finally able to get
thru to our Ins. company. Anybody
else just love automated calls!!! lol
#10
Thankful we are planning a trip
to the beach for a week with our
kids and lil darling this Summer.
We are all so looking forward to it.
Course, if the Lord comes we might
not get to go, but don't think any of
us will care.....lol
#11
Thankful for a roof over our heads,
food to eat, clothes to wear, and a
cozy bed to sleep in, and God blessing
us with the ability to pay for said things,
#12
Thankful for our personal and religious
freedoms and the country we live in.
Even with all the problems we have in
America, it is still the best place on earth
to live. We are so blessed and spoiled
and take all these things so for granted
at times, and some can't even see how
blessed they are.
