Thankful Thursday March 10, 2022, and The last of our Winter Decor for 2022

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope some of you might be feeling better today

about life if you read yesterdays post, at least

that is why I feel the Lord had me write it.....


Photos today are from our Winter Family room,

I have been saying I was gonna show you but

just never got around to taking pictures,  so

thought it is now or never, cause we are about

to go into spring............so the next time you

see our home it will look like Spring has

Sprung.......lol

Also a few pictures of some cakes thrown in...


Well, on with my Thankfuls......

Thankful for a few hours with lil darling after

school,  then running errands, and out to 

dinner with hubby to Longhorn Steakhouse.

Thankful to hear that the precious wife of our dear

Governor DeSantis is cancer free.  I have to say I am

not surprised cause she has had practically everyone

in Florida praying for her, I'm sure!!

Thankful that we got our porch chairs all washed

and cleaned up, they were looking pretty shabby.

Thankful for a wonderful birthday party for lil darling

on Saturday.  They rented a bounce house with a

water slide and she and 11 of her lil buddies had a

really great time, and all the adults had a great time

conversing and eating as well, since the kiddle's

were all busy playing.  It was a sunny beautiful

day, about 83 degrees,  but there was plenty of

shade and it was cool in the shade,  so it made

for a lovely day for everyone.

Thankful that we finally got to meet and talk

to 4 people that we have heard about from

 lil darling, but had never met before, so that 

was really nice, and they were all very nice

 people.  So now we will know who she is 

talking about, and we met someone else

we hadn't heard about as well.  Always

enjoy meeting new people.

Thankful that one of our friends daughter

who is about 13 wks pregnant, is so far,

doing okay, the baby is fine, but she had to go

 to the emergency room because she started

hemorrhaging, but PTL she is home and

doing better and has to be on bed rest and

 can not pick up anything over 10 pds.(and she

 has a toddler), and is considered a high risk

 pregnancy now, so she is coming to stay 

with her family for awhile, which was gonna

happen anyway, since her hubby is in the

 military and they are in the process of 

moving, (long story).



Our mantle was decorated like this for Christmas but decided to just
                      change it up a bit and use it thru the winter.  We have enjoyed it.

Thankful for an answer to prayer about a situation

that could have been quite awkward and maybe

even a bit volatile, that turned out to be peaceful

and with no tension at all.  God is good!!

Thankful for a great report on a little baby named

"Owen" that we, along with many in our church

have been praying about for months now. Back

 before Thanksgiving he was still in the NICU

 (intensive care) fighting for his life cause he had

breathing problems and other problems as well,

 and they were hoping he would get to come

 home on Thanksgiving, but were told that it 

wasn't likely, but God.... he actually did get to

 come home on Thanksgiving and he still had 

liver problems and was supposed to have

surgery in the New Year.  Anyway, all his liver 

function tests are now coming back that his liver

 is functioning normally, and also there was a

 cancer scare and they have now ruled that out,

 and he is just the most adorable lil guy with

 these big bright blue eyes. So sweet!

Thankful my hubbies birthday cake came out so well. 

 I made him his favorite cake " Red Velvet" from  his

 Mom's recipe (from scratch) and it has been a

 lonnnng time since I have done that.  Now I 

remember why....it take a long time and makes

 a huge mess of the kitchen.  lol

But it does taste amazing!!

I have made boxed red velvet boxed cakes 

with cream cheese frosting, but he doesn't ever

 like them as much, but I haven't even made

 any kind of boxed cake in a long time, so

 I am definitely out of practice.  When it's just

 the 2 of you.......making a whole cake is just

 not practical unless we are having company. 

Usually if I am cooking a dinner for the whole

family, then I opt to buy a dessert since our 

grocery store has a wonderful bakery.

Thankful for my sweet hubby and that he had a 

few nice birthday celebrations. We like to drag

 them out for at least a few days, if we can do a

 birthday week, that is all the better!!  lol

Thankful for some encouraging and kind

comments I rec'd this week, from random and 

unexpected people, concerning age related

 things, so since I am heading toward 70 yrs.

 the end of this month, they were a very sweet

 and pleasant surprise gift!   lol

Thankful that Season 9 of "When calls the

Heart", just came out.  We love love love

this series, and have watched them all

over again many times.

17 Helpful and Practical Ideas for Getting thru this Crazy Life We are Living with our sanity still intact.





    Hello Sweet Friends,


This started out as my Thankful Thursday

Post, which was all done, but my opening,

 but as I was doing my opening it just 

morphed into something else that I really

 felt the Lord wanted me to share, cause

I think everyone could use right now.

So decided to do my usual Thankful

Thursday post tomorrow. 

 So here goes......


How are ya?? 

I know with all the things swirling around us: 

 the war on Ukrainian people, poor leadership,

 high prices at the pump, and high prices on

everything, issues with schools, and still 

struggling with covid restrictions in some

places, and I know for those up north all 

these winter storms, it can make us feel

pretty helpless some days, but just realize

we are not helpless and we are not hope-

less because there is a God who is still

on the throne and who knows what is 

happening and there are things we can

do.  Number 1, we can turn our hearts to

God, and we can pray like we have never

prayed before. Which I might add is the 

BEST thing you can do. Number 2, We can 

give to a good charity to be a help (We love

Samaritans Purse) cause they go all over

the world and they are ministering to the

Ukrainian people already. Number 3, you

can watch the news, so you do know what

 is going on but just don't camp there.  We 

have been watching the news on CBN,

 because it is from a christian perspective

and they only report the news not tell you 

what to think about the news, and we only

 watch it once a day!!

Number 4, start a Grateful or Thankful

journal and list some things every day,

or maybe go around the dinner table and

say something you are thankful for. This

helps give you perspective, that there are

still good things happening in our life and

the lives of others. Number 5, put on some

good Christian music and sing along or

maybe dance along...........

Number 6, which really could be inserted

anywhere in here, is read your bible,

especially the Psalms, and maybe read them

 out loud so you can see them, hear them, 

and say them. Number 7, Do something

intentionally nice for someone else, every

day, if possible. Maybe it's a phone call,

 a card or letter, a visit, a hug and I love you,

taking someone flowers or food or anything 

else you can think of. Just think of what you

would enjoy.  Number 8, Go out of your way

 to smile and be kind to strangers, as just

 about everyone is struggling these days.

 Number 9, Tell those that matter to

 you that you love them, and give them a 

hug, if you aren't used to that, it might

 seem awkward at first, but push yourself

to make it a habit, it's possible, as I didn't 

come from a background where that was

done, but it is such a habit with me now,

that I have even caught myself saying it to

 others that I don't even know, as I hang 

up the phone. lol  No one gets hurt from

 being told they are loved. Number 10,

Remind yourself how blessed you are to

live in the United States even tho we have

problems....we aren't being bombed and

having to leave our homes.  Number 11,

Do something creative:  Painting, floral

arranging, sewing, cooking or baking, or

decorating your home, gardening, land-

scaping, scrapbooking, card making, or

reading a book or magazine that inspires

you, or taking pictures, or blogging. Do

something you really enjoy.

God is a creative God and we are made

in His image, so these things make us

feel blessed (Happy).  Don't discard them

as being frivolous or useless. They might

just be the missing piece to finding more

joy in your life. Number 12, if possible,

sit out in the sun for a few minutes every

day or so, as it boost your melatonin levels.

I realize this is not gonna work for some

of you up north. Number 13, watch up-

lifting shows, movies, or comedians on TV.

Number 14, Be in touch with those you

love and care about as often as possible.

Now a days, it's easy to just send a text

or an email to say hello and brighten

their day, and yours!! 

Number 15, Make a Celebration out

of anything and everything you can think

of...I believe God is a God of celebration

and He loves when we celebrate good

things, ex; a birthday, a good report card,

a new job, a new dress, his creation,

someone else's having something good

happen to them, a new baby, and we

could go on and on. Number 16, put

verses from the bible or inspiring meme's

on your blog, facebook or instagram

accts., if you have them. Number 17

comes from another blogger "Create

with JOY", but I do this most of the

time as well, but forgot to mention it,

When you watch the news (like the

Ukrain situation) let it trigger you to

pray about it, rather than grousing

or complaining about it, which does

 no one any good.   


God's word say in Philippians 4:8-9 NIV

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, 
whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything 
is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.  Whatever you have learned or received
 or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. 
And the God of peace will be with you.


If we are consistent with thinking about and

 practicing the things on this list, I feel it's God's

 way of giving us a sense of empowerment and 

hope using practical ways to live out what the 

above verses in Philippians tells us.

great ideas out there, cause I keep adding

Thankful Thursday, March 3, 2022, Last Winter Table to celebrate 3 Birthdays



                   The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! 

Exalted be God my Savior!

Psalm 18:46 NIV


Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and at Peace,

with all that is going on in our world

and around the world.  We are living

in unprecedented times for sure, but

we know that God is still on His throne

and nothing is taking Him by surprise,

and if you know anything about Bible

prophecy you may understand what

is happening.

Our Job is to do our best to keep our

eyes on Him and to tell everyone about

 Him, who is the only true Peace Giver, 

 Jesus!  and I feel a sense of urgency

to tell you.....If you don't know Him yet,

Please don't put it off any longer!!

Salvation comes only from Him, and

he can change your Fear into Peace.



Now with that said......

On a lighter note, Pictures today are from 

our Birthday Celebration last weekend.

  Our house is still decorated for Winter,

 in the family and dining room, so just

 decided to carry on the Winter theme

 for their Birthdays as well.  I typically

do a Spring table..........lol



So on with my Thankfuls...........

Thankful that we have pretty much worked out

plans for Susan, lil darling and Hubbies birthday

celebrations.  Hard, but fun too,  when there is

 3 birthdays within a week.

Thankful for a sweet day with lil darling, as always.

We had no school work today as she is out on

break,  so we just had fun all day, and she got

to have her lil friend next door over late in the

afternoon, and they both so enjoyed it.

Thankful we finally had some time to get outside

and water our plants, as we have had very little

rain lately. Maybe light showers that last like

5 mins. if that long.

Thankful that most of my dinner cooking is

done for Sundays birthday celebration in

 our family, next is to work on a pretttable

 and to make Banana Pudding.

Thankful for a sweet instant message from

a kid who used to go to our church but who

is all grown up now, and married with 3 kids.

We were able to write back and forth and it

was so good to hear how he and his family

are doing.  His parents are still go to our

 churcand when we see them we always

 ask about him, cause we have always had

 a good relationship with him and his wife.

We haven't know her as long as we have

him, as he grew up in our church and we

just met her once they started dating and

we got to attend their lovely wedding as 

well.  Such a blessing to hear from him.

Thankful for a lovely time with the family

celebrating all the birthdays this week.

I made yummy cuban food, and Banana

Pudding, the favorite dessert for all of

them.  Had fun talking, eating and

 opening gifts and playing some 

Wii bowling.  Fun time!

Thankful that I got 2 - St. Patrick's Day 

cards done, along with a number of 

Birthday cards for the family, and

several printables.

Thankful for a creative week.

I love that!

Thankful that after 3 days and a number

of phone calls I was finally able to get

thru to our Ins. company.  Anybody 

else just love automated calls!!!  lol

Thankful we are planning a trip

to the beach for a week with our

kids and lil darling this Summer.

We are all so looking forward to it.

Course, if the Lord comes we might

not get to go, but don't think any of

us will care.....lol

Thankful for a roof over our heads, 

food to eat, clothes to wear, and a

cozy bed to sleep in, and God blessing

us with the ability to pay for said things,

Thankful for our personal and religious

 freedoms and the country we live in.

Even with all the problems we have in

America, it is still the best place on earth

to live. We are so blessed and spoiled

 and take all these things so for granted

 at times, and some can't even see how

 blessed they are.

Thankful for the Bible and right now

especially for the book of Revelation,

(The last book in the Bible)

 which covers Bible prophecy, and 

which explains what we see happening

in our world today.
