Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.
For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the
 LORD endures forever.
Praise the LORD.
Psalm 117 NIV

Greetings and Welcome to the Christmas Season,

Sweet Friends!

Have to say We Love Christmas at our house.....

It's our all time favorite holiday for sure......

So with every tree, ornament, light, wreath,

stocking or anything for that matter that reminds

of Christmas..... it also reminds us of what this

season is really about.....and that ,of Course,

 would be

The Birth of Jesus

.So we are busy decorating away over here

and listening to Christmas music and will

soon we having some egg nog, and have

already had some gingerbread cookies!!  lol

So I am guessing most of you are doing

the same......Happy Decorating to you!

Pictures today are from Christmas's passed

at Cozy Place.

So on with my Thankfuls.....

#1

Thankful that our Thanksgving altho, it was quite different did not mean it wasn't very enjoyable.  It just meant it was quieter, less family at the same time, less preparations/work, and more one on one time with family members. Since our children married we are sort of use to different and having to work around schedules and stuff...so that has sort of prepared us, since this was just more different than usual, but all in all it was very good.

#2

Thankful that we live in America, the land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. We have been so blessed to be able to live here all of our years.

#3

Thankful for a new dessert we tried out for Thanks-giving, and I didn't make it... and it came from our favorite grocery store...Publix.

It was a New York style cheese cake with a Dulce de leche topping.  It was really rich and yummy, and pretty.

#4

Thankful that our Daughter and Son-in-love

had the company of his Mom and Dad for

Thanksgiving,  so they didn't have to be alone

for Thanksgiving.

#5

Thankful that I read in a Magnolia Journal Magazine that Chip and Joanna Gaines will hopefully be starting their new TV network in 2021.  They said their hope is that every time you tune into their Magnolia Network, you leave feeling like it was time well spent. So I am looking forward to it, as their line up sounds really neat.

#6

Thankful all our Fall decorations are now down, and still need to be packed away.  The tree is up, not decorated yet,  and part of the outside lights are up, so we got a lot done on Black Friday.

#7

Thankful the Fall things are all packed away, our manger scene for the yard is up now too, and will be bringing in all  the Christmas decor on Monday to get the inside of the house done.

#8

Thankful for a great morning at church singing and listening to 2 of the kids that used to be in our young marrieds class who are in training to be missionaries in France. They were explaining how things are coming with their training and why they aren't on the field yet,  of course, becauseof Covid and the restrictions in France.

#9

Thankful that we got to take our friends Dad out for lunch after church, as they are gone away to celebrate their 50th Anniversary.  We got married in the same year and the same month, and we didn't even know each other way back then...lol  We love spending time with their Dad, he is just such a wonderful man and he is 96 yrs. old, and sharp as a tack and such a blessing to everyone!

#10

Thankful that I discovered Chocolate almond milk when we were at my daughters. I really liked it. Bought some when we came home and yesterday we bought some regular plain almond milk, and this morning I made hot chocolate with !/2 cup choc.almond milk, 1/2 cup of reg. almond milk and 1 heaping teasp. of powdered peanut butter, and it was very good,  less calories and more good things in it than regular milk and since I am lactose intolerant that is even better.

#11

Thankful that during the night when the old devil was trying to get me to worrying about things I can do nothing about a song we sang in church on Sunday came flooding thru my mind so I started singing it to myself and went right back to sleep. It actually happened 3 nights in a row.  The devil hates praise or singing that goes to the Lord.

Thankful that we were able to embellish this Angel (that you see above) that my hubby happened to see at Michaels last year after Christmas, when we were in Charleston .  Lil darling loves several of the angels I have, so we bought it for her knowing I could make it look even prettier.  She was holding what looked like a broken Christmas tree, so I took that off and added some ribbon ,some rhinestones, some holly and made a wreath and halo for her head which looks so much better cause she had nothing on her head and my angels do, so now she does too!!  lol

We get to give it to her today!

  2. Hi Kris,
So nice to hear from you as always.....and thanks for your sweet encouraging comments.
Yes, we do have to be very intentional in looking for the good during these times for sure.
I try to add to my list daily which makes it easier than coming up with 12 things off the top of my head on Thursday, cause sometimes I have to think really hard about what we did the earlier part of the week...lol
Hope this finds you doing well, and hope your Thanksgiving was better than expected.....
    Blessings hon,
    Nellie

  6. Hi Susan,
Yes, we enjoyed the time too. Don't know for sure how to get their channel yet, I read where the first one is going to be on the discover+ channel, whatever that is, think it might be new too, but not sure. Will let you know when we find out which want be until sometime in the New Year, Jan sometime supposedly, if all goes well.
Yes, and I am still busy decorating, have too many things to do at once, so having a hard time staying on task...lol Hoping to be done tomorrow, cause got a lot done today.
Yea, we are very grateful for live streaming too. Such a blessing.
Yea, that's what I typically do....but guess the Lord wanted to teach me something new! lol
Yea, I always think about that too about the Angels, guess somehow when we think of angels and that they are beautiful, we can't think of a man that way....lol

Well, have a good rest of the week,
    Love ya, Nellie

  8. Reading your blog post has warmed my heart, Nellie! It's so lovely to read your gratitudes, and very inspiring too. I'm very excited about the Magnolia Network as well. I'm just hoping we'll find a way to watch it in the UK. My husband and I loved Fixer Upper and we were lucky enough to visit the Magnolia at Waco two years ago. Take care, and thank you so much for sharing this lovely, inspiring post at the Hearth and Soul Link Party.
