Thankful Thursday October 26, 2023, with Fall Scenery

Praise the LORD. Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands.

          Greetings Sweet Friends,

How are you today??  Hope you are enjoying

 some good ole Fall weather.  It has been in 

                    high 60's at night and the about 80 degrees

        in the day time, which is better, but not exactly

              what I would call Fall weather. lol

 

       Pictures today are of Fall Scenery.

We don't change much here in Florida

so we have to enjoy the beauty thru

pictures in other states.  lol  So if

you are like us......todays your day

Thankful we are all unpacked and

suit cases all tucked away!!

Thankful for a Shout out for our card

Business by the Hive Drive on Instagram,

thanks to our Sweet Daughter, and also

for a number of new followers as well.

Thankful to hear the good news that our

Sr. Pastor's kidney removal surgery went

well, and that they didn't see any visible

signs of cancer anywhere else, PTL, but it

 will be 2 weeks till they get the biopsy report

 back. Think we are all expecting a good report

 as he has so many people interceding for him.

Thankful to hear that one of our best friends,

 Son and wife are going to go for marriage

 counseling with their Pastor. That is a long

 awaited answer to prayer for all of us. 

So happy to hear that news!!

Thankful to get to see lil darling and our

 Son last night for dinner and a fun time playing

 cards. That was nice since we had been away

 for over a week.

Thankful for a very productive day working 

on our shop. More to go.... but that keeps us

 busy and useful, and have to say we enjoy it.

Thankful for Samaritans Purse and other

Christian Organizations who are helping

the people of Israel.

Thankful for our Wonderful Governor

Ron DeSantis.  I read that he sent a plane

to Israel to bring back Americans who

were stuck in Israel and couldn't get out,

He also has sent 2 cargo planes with food,

water, and medical supplies to Israel.

Thankful for a devotional I read by Pastor

Paul David Tripp, from his Book

 "New Morning Mercies."  

It was talking about a reason we need to go

 to church that I had never heard spoken 

of before, but was struck by how true it was.

This is my paraphrase of it......

 He said, it is so easy as Christians for us

 to have what he calls "Identity Amnesia", 

and to forget who we are in Christ and 

what we have been given as His child. 

It is so easy to forget when we are under

 pressure or in the middle of a trial, or

 overtired or just on normal days, but

 God has given us a gift of His grace

 and that is, of gathering together with

 one another so we can remember who we

 are and what He has given us. 

The Church is a tool of his grace, so that 

we can remember, celebrate and grow.

Love this Reason and believe it is so true!

Thankful for my Dentist and Hygienist

and a good cleaning, and that even tho

I was hoping for no dental procedures,

 I do have a crown that is leaking and

 has to be redone, but thankful they

 caught that too.

Thankful for my sweet neighbor who

brought us some 15 bean soup with collards

mixed in.......we didn't eat it tonight because

we were going out, but if it tastes near

as good as it smells..........it is gonna be 

yummy!  I am gonna make some corn

bread tomorrow to have with it!

Thankful for a really nice dinner

at Carrabbas Italian, just me and hubby.

It was better than usual for some reason, 

maybe cause I haven't have chicken

 parmesan in awhile, cause they are

 always great, and we had a really nice

young man as our server, who is working

his way thru college for Computer Science,

so he and hubby had a nice chat since

he has worked in that field himself.

We love talking with young people!!

(Especially when they like talking

to old fogies like us!!  lol)

Thankful that they finally chose a "Speaker

of the House" and by unanimous vote, none

the less. Now there's a miracle for you!!

 came to mind.  Sitting here would definitely calm

 ones heart and mind.  It has a calming affect just

 looking at it......so I can definitely see why

 HE would lead us beside still waters.

For it is a quiet, peaceful respite where we can

 hear him more when we are still.

OOPs..... That should be Psalms 23:2

Good Morning Sweet Friends,

Hope you are all doing well,  know it

has been an intense week with all that

is going on in the world.  Very Sad!

We have been away at our Daughter's

home in S Carolina since last Tuesday,

and we managed to have a lovely time

in spite of it all......cause they are our

home away from home and one of our

Happy Places anyway!

Just got home last night, and woke up

to a yard full of white Ibises, which quickly

remindeded me, I was back in Florida. lol

On with my Thankfuls.................

Thankful for a safe trip to and back from

 South Carolina to see our girl and hubby.

Thankful for great days of conversation and

 catching up on things in our lives., Also

solving the worlds problems!!  lol

Thankful for those that are praying for me

as I was not feeling real great the day before

we left to come here, but feeling much better

due to those prayers, I am sure!

Thankful for God's word and how it teaches

us how to live our lives, and brings comfort

and joy in hard situations,

Thankful that our Daughter was able to

be off from work the whole time we are here.

Thankful for ham and scallion quiche, and

a wonderful Cream cheese with strawberry

coffee cake, our Daughter makes for us

every time we visit.  It is our fav and

we tell her, she is the Hostess with the

 Mostess!!  lol

Thankful that we got to celebrate our

Daughter and Son-in-loves 12th Anniversary

with them.  We went to dinner and had cake,

played some Yatzee and watched dry bar

comedy until our sides hurt.  lol

Thankful that they will be having an

 Anniversary get away after we leave.

Thankful for dry bar comedy...........

Most of the folks are so funny and their

comedy is very clean and enjoyable.

We always have fun watching that

when we are here.

Thankful we actually had a sunny day, on 

Sunday, as it has been rainy, overcast and 

dreary the whole time we have been here,

but we have had a great time anyway!

Happy to report the last 3 days were

 sunny and nice, so we were able to be out

side some, which is always great!

Thankful we did get to go out shopping

 before we left.  We went to their Tanger

 Outlet Mall for the first time, and kicked

 off some of our Christmas shopping,

 which was just so much fun, and something

 we all miss doing every year, as that used

 to be our tradition before she moved away

to Christmas shop together!

Thankful that our Son-in-love is such an

easy going guy and has no problem with

us staying with them for a week.  It is

just so nice to be able to have all this 

time with them one on one,  and it is

always a precious time!  

Never like leaving -If only we could

 bring them home with us. lol

Thankful to be home! Always love going to

 visit and always love getting home. Our home

always looks and smells so good and just

nice sleeping in your own bed.

Thankful our kids and lil darling all made it to Tampa safe and sound.  Our Daughter and Son-in-love flew in from S. Carolina, so they could all go to Busch Gardens together.

Thankful lil darling is feeling better, (she was sick all last week) and is able to enjoy the time together with her Dad, Aunt and Uncle, and at least a few days of her Fall break.

Thankful for my bed.....I really am,  I say it every night when I crawl into it!!  lol

Lil darling loves it too, and says it is just so cozy!

Thankful for a lovely day at church,  we saw 5 teenagers be baptized this morning, and had our youth lead the singing. A lil more lively than usual,  but that's good!!

Thankful our kids and lil darling had a great weekend in Tampa and at Busch Gardens.Thankful lil darling was feeling great the entire time.

Thankful for the 20+ people who prayed for her to get well.

The Lord certainly heard and answered.

Thankful we got to have lil darling today and she is over her flu or whatever she had,  and we had a good day schooling and it was nice she didn't have that much to do today, so we got to have a lil fun together too.

Thankful I made a few new cards this week,  and started another one.

Thankful I found some new cursive fonts by accident. This is one of them!!  lol

Thankful for a conversation lil darling

and I had about things we had to look

forward to from now till Christmas,

and she said we need to draw names

and I said, oh yea, we do.....we are

a lil late actually, so was glad for that

conversation, cause we need to get 

started for the kids in SC cause they

are coming for Thanksgiving but not

Christmas, so then we can send there

Christmas gifts home with them.

Thankful Thursday October 5, 2023, and Fall Decor Part 5

Greetings Sweet Friends,

How are you doing this week? Hope things are

going well,  and that you have entered the Fall

Season with real Fall weather.  Our temps are

cooling some, but still feels more like Summer......

but we see that next week is supposed to be

better............so we are getting excited about that!!

This week lil darling has been sick since last

weekend, she is out on Fall break,  so she has

been able to rest which is good, but she is not

there yet,  feeling much better, but not quite

there yet!!  In fact, she is sleeping as I am

typing this.....I have felt good just very tired

myself, so hoping it stays that way!!  lol

Thankful for face book and that they had a Nat'l Son and Daughter day.  I did a post on both my kids, and think they really appreciated it.  We can never love or encourage our family and friends enough.

Thankful that we finished the grouting of our floor tile in our master bathroom. We are so pleased with the way it turned out and so happy we decided to try it.  It looks so clean and fresh and brand new. Will do a post soon and tell you about it in case you might like to give it a try yourself.

Thankful for a lil kneeling/bench used for weeding That my Daughter gave me some years back,  We used it to clean and grout the floor, so much easier on the knees and also easier to get up and down as well.

Thankful that we got it done pretty quickly since we had to pace ourselves.  At our age, we have learned.....lol  We don't have tobe in a hurry cause we have plenty of time, and we are like the ants we are just steady plodders, and then all of a sudden it's a done deal...............love that!!

Thankful that if we know God, we can have the wisdom of God to guide us in our lives, and what an amazing difference that makes to our lives, our family and our world.

Thankful for a great day at church, and a great and true story our Pastor told about 2 of our other young Pastors and the encounter they and several other men in our church had with  helping to clean up a homeless man, that was in a wheelchair that was in great need, last Sunday morning before church started. His story was so sad, but the Lord couldn't have linked him up with more caring and Godly men than he did.  I am sure it had to have a huge impact on this man, who had an abusive father who beat him..... that he absolutely hates.

Thankful that I experienced 2 mini miracles at church this morning from 2 people I had prayed for this week. One I was having a problem with, the other one seemed to be having a problem with us. Wish I could share what happened but never know who is reading, so better not!!  lol

Thankful for lunch out with our friends to Cracker Barrel, even tho it took forever to get in.  lol

The food and fellowship were great!

Thankful that God has given us color......imagine how blah, boring and awful our world would be if we could only see it in black and white.  My husband said yea, when we used to have only black and white TV, it was usually comedies, so guess the comedy was what added the color!!  lol

Thankful that my hubby is so diligent about our

yard,  he spent quite a bit of time out there

pulling up sand spurs.  Our neighbor who has

lawn service and probably doesn't know it,

but they have a lot of them right on the edge

of their yard next to ours.  So guess we will

address that next Spring, as everything we 

have read says you have to spray them with 

weed killer in the early spring.  We typically 

have only had them out near the street and

 those babies hurt if you step on them barefoot,

 so def don't want a yard full of them.  lol

Thankful for a fun time with lil darling and I,

 face timing my Daughter/her Aunt this morning

 and talking about the fun time they are gonna

 have this weekend with her Dad and Aunt

and Uncle, at Busch Gardens.  We looked up all

 the roller coaster rides and they had videos of them.

Felt like we were there......  Too Cool.

If you feel so led,  Please pray that lil darling 

will feel good for the weekend.  She has been

 sick since last weekend, and has had lots of

rest since this was her Fall break and she is

 feeling much better but doesn't have much

of an appetite and tires out quickly.

Thankful that our church has a Women's

online prayer group, so we can share prayer

requests. Just put lil darling on there!!
