Thankful Thursday June 19th. 2026. and A Patriotic Father's Day Table 2025

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.     Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

Thursday Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you are having a good week,

and that all your Dads had a great

Father's Day. Our's seemed to....

Looking forward to our Daughter

and family coming in later this week.

Pictures today are from our Father's Day

table 2025 I usually try to do a theme that

fits both of them, and was trying to figure

out a theme I had not done yet, and since I

saw it was flag day, I thought, great I will do

a patriotic theme since both our Dads are

Patriotic and already had everything I

needed to do it as well.

  Perfect!

So on with my Thankfuls............

#1

Thankful that my friend who's Daughter and

family are moving to California, made it

there safe and sound. This was not your

typical get to the airport and jump on a

plane and go....NO.... My friend and her

Daughter traveled with a 4 and a half yr.

old, an almost 2 yr. old and an almost 2

month old baby. It took 2 cars just to get

to the airport with all 3 children having

to be in car seats and with luggage and a

pack andplay, which all had to go on the

plane as well, and it was a 5 hr. flight.  Her

 Son-in-love drove 3 days by himself......12 hrs.

a day, and arrived there on Wednesday, so

he could have their base housing secured in

time for their arrival. Many of us have

prayed for this trip, as there was a lot to

be concerned about to say the least, but

the Lord has answered prayer after

prayer. He truly showed himself to be

with them every step of the way on

this air flight.

Note:  Please pray their furniture and

personal things will get there before they

told them which is not until June 23rd, so

they have been living in their house without

anything but clothing pretty much. So it has

been a longgg week I am sure!!

#2

Thankful to have been a part of their

journey and to know the Lord answered

so many prayers on their behalf,  just

makes me weep with gratitude knowing

what a loving God we serve, and how

much He loves us.

#3

Thankful that gifts are wrapped and dinner

planned and shopping done for Father's Day

dinner.  Working on the table today, and will

make Beef Stroganoff tomorrow for

Sunday, as it is best the day after.

#4

Thankful for a lovely visit with our new

neighbor Sat. morning.  We had invited them

over last week, and her hubby was sick,

so they couldn't come, so she text and ask

if she could bring us some banana bread

This morning, and we had a lovely visit.

she is our Daughters age, and such a

sweet young lady.

#5 and 6

Thankful for being able to attend lil darlings

dance recital tonight. It was quite good, and

she did a really great job and we can see

how she has really grown in confidence.

Then we went out to dinner with she and

our Son.  A very pleasant evening, I have

to say.  Also we have been wanting to

try our Sonny's Barbecue place for

awhile now, cause we had gotten where

we didn't like it for a long time,  but they

have redone it, so our Son suggested going

there, so very Thankful we really enjoyed it.

#7

Thankful for a nice restful and peaceful

Father's day.  We watched our Sunday

Service from home for a number of

reasons, and then our Son and lil darling

came in the afternoon to celebrate.

So we had a nice dinner, visit, and UNO

card games. Both Dads were happy

with their dinner, cards and gifts

and the fun time!

So Mission accomplished!!!  lol

#8

Thankful to sleep in this Monday morning

as Iwas exhausted as it had been a busy

end of the week.

#9

Thankful and excited that we will get

to see our Daughter and Son-in-love

for a few days again this week which

is very unusual.....

#10

Thankful for Cuban food, which we had

for dinnera number of nights.  Black beans

yellow rice, and a meat dish called Picadillo.

Learned to make this in our first year of

marriagetaught by a Cuban friend and

 work mate.

Click here to see recipe for Picadillo

Click here to see recipe for Black Beans

and rice.  Also another Cuban dish

called Ropa Veija, all on same post.

#11

Thankful that our Daughter, Son-in-love and

furry grandson dog got in safe and sound

from S Carolina.

#12

Thankful we had a good time with them

as always.  We all tried to go out to dinner

last night, but unfortunately, we went to

Target and I had been having a headache

but was better, but all of a sudden I

started to get whoozy headed and weak

and could not walk very straight,  so had

a candy bar, thinking it might be blood

sugar but it didn't help, so we all had to come home and we ordered take out.

I am sure they were all disappointed,

as I was,  but they all had a great attitude,

and took good care of me.  So thankful

for my sweet family and that Dee and

family got to visit again so soon, and

thankful that I am feeling better today.

So don't know if it was just a sinus issue

or what it was, but happy to be feeling

better today. Kids are on

the way home now.....sniff sniff lol
