Part 2 of Let's take a tour of my Daughter's home

Hello Sweet Friends,

So are you enjoying March??
and
is it Windy at your house??

I can say yes, to both of those questions.
It is about 75 or so out right now,  but
with the wind it is delightful out on the
porch..........a perfect day, course, not
sure I would say the same if I was out
in the sun!!  lol

Today's post is part 2 of my daughter's
home..... The Dining Room.

This is how it looks from the outside.
This was turned into a dining room
from a screened in porch, and I think
they did a marvelous job.

So come on in and see for yourself.
This is the back entrance.....well, you
know what they say.....back door
friends are always the best....lol

Absolutely love all the windows......
so charming and cottage like.

As much as I love the windows
one of my thoughts was that is
gonna be fun, when it comes time
to wash all those puppies....but not
so.....because the window pane
dividers are inbetween 2 panes
of glass, so it is like washing one
big window pane. I could only tell
because I was looking at her herbs
she had growing on the window sill
and actually touched the window.
Who ever came up with that idea
was a genius.........lol

This bull head is just a fun find that
my Son-in-love liked so she put it
right where they come in the door
and figured they could hang their
keys there.  Not sure if they ever
do it tho...........lol
but it was a good idea.........

what a great ceiling idea.........between
 the windows, the shiplap and the ceiling
 it really is such a lovely room.
Definitely my fav room, which is hard
to choose cause I like so many things
about their home.

This pic looks a wee bit washed out
probably cause of all the light, but
wanted you to see her cute lil bench.
  She wants to get a cushion or some-
thing for her bench now that she has
 her chairs, but just trying to decide
still. They have another Sisal rug
 in this room,  just like the one in
 their living room.

(If you would like to see the
Living room/ Part 1)

Just love how the light streams in...
This is in the late afternoon.

She had this console table from their
other home, so they decided to try it
 in the dining room, since they had it
 in the entry way to begin with in this
 house, but then found the other bench
 and cabinet to go in the entry way.

  It looks quite nice there, but she
 didn't want anything to distract from
the view or her pretty table and chairs
 so she decided on this cute, yet under-
stated table top decor. Just 3 mason jars
 with silverware in them, and she then
 hung the cute lil  tin stars on them.
I thought this was a good decision.

Since we were leaving the day after
Valentine's Day to go to our daughters,
and hubby usually gets me flowers.....
I told him just to wait and when we
got to Dee's we would get some for
both of us, and enjoy them while there.
So I got the pink Tulips as she likes
 Tulips as well, then we got some others
 that she picked for a certain vase she has
 in her kitchen, which you will see in
 Part 3 that will be coming up next week.

You can see we used the Tulips in between
 the candlesticks and I draped her throw
over the bench to see how it would look
 with some texture on it.......

All her chairs are the parson chairs with
white slipcovers which is really pretty
elegant and easy to clean. I really love
 the skirted chairs.

Night Time View with Shades pulled.
I took this so you could see their shades.
They are great....they have that accordion
 fold look to them, and you just pull them
down and they go right back up and only
 show about 2-3 inches at the most.
Perfect....especially for this room so that
they still has that wonderful view
 and light coming in.

Morning View

Head on view of ceiling

Thanks for joining me to day,  hope you
enjoyed the 2nd tour............

Have a Delightful day.

Love Hugs, and
March Blessings.
Nellie

Thankful Thursday March 2, 2017, Golf cart House tour from Charleston

But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
 joy, peace, forbearance, kindness,
 goodness, faithfulness,
 gentleness and self control.
Galatians 5:22-23

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and happy,

and enjoying March and the hope
of Spring............

Our March always starts off with
Birthdays, first my Sil the last day
 of Feb., followed by lil darling,
then hubbies just a few days later
 then we get a break until the end of
March when my birthday comes.
So I have been busy planning and
 doing for their birthdays all week,
gotta do shopping today for food
and a few other things.......so that
will be my day............

Thought I would show you some
pretty and interesting houses today,
 from Charleston when we took our
 Golf cart tour..........lol
I get a kick out of seeing the
different style homes in different
 states and their areas has such a
variety and you will see what I
 mean about it being a picket fence
neighborhood as well....
Think you will enjoy it!

Hope you have a lovely day
and on with my thankfuls.....

I am thankful

#1
that I think I finally figured out why
 I always feel so good physically when
 we go away to our daughters, where-
ever she lives.....I think it is because
 we spend so much time outside in
 the fresh air.  At first I thought it
 was just having time with her and
 the cooler weather, which I think
it is probably a combination of all
3, but we have been spending more
 time outside on the porch, since we
have been home, as the weather is
 still nice, and I have been feeling
 really great and sleeping really good
too, so we will continue this as long
as we can and I will also be trying
to air out the house at least once
week, even when the weather gets
 warmer. Think I am gonna add
some live houseplants too, as they
help to clean the air too.

#2
for a really fun time over at
Scott and Megans on Saturday
to celebrate my SIL Susan's
birthday.  Was thankful they
offered since we had just gotten
 back in town, and it turned out
 wonderfully well......a great
time had by all.........

#3
that I have figured out a
theme for hubby and lil darlings
birthday celebration this coming
weekend.  Sorta hard to do a
table that is for both male and
female....so... happy about that.

#4
for a nice dinner at Longhorns
on Sunday after church. Since
our fav yogurt place closed
we have been changing things
up a bit, and it has been fun.
A good rut buster..........lol

#5
that I got the first issue from my
subcription hubby got me for
Christmas.  It was the "Magnolia
Journal" with Joanna Gaines.
So far, it is the only magazine
I have read cover to cover in
long time.

#6
for the great job President Trump
did with his speech to Congress
 on Tuesday evening.

#7
for the joy of little darlings
 laughter.....
it is just infectious.......

#8
that we found a fellow who is
very reasonable to help us with
some of our yard work, and he
does work for my SIL Susan,
so now we will have someone
we can call if we need some
extra help,  and he is a really
nice man as well.

#9
that Dee made it safely to Ashe-
ville for an appt. on Friday,
and she got to see 2 of her friends
that she misses.  We also had a
nice long chat as she drove.......
She got back home safe and
sound today.

#10
that we found a place to buy 2
beach loungers for our back yard.
We wanted the aluminum ones with
vinyl straps like they have at condos,
but they are very hard to find, cause
Co's. that carry them usually only
do it commercially. These type of
loungers last a long time...which is
perfect since ours sit out in the
 elements all the time, so we were
delighted to finally find them....
 They are our birthday presents to
 ourselves this year......course, it
will be 5-7 weeks before we get
them, but we are just thankful
we can get them!!

#11
for my sweet hubby and lil darling
who both have a Birthday coming
up in this next week.  They both
bless my life so very much.....

#12
that I finally got to go into a fairly new
Fresh Market store that is a bit closer
to us than the old one. haven't been to
 any in a long time and have been want-
ing to go there for ages, but for one
 reason or another it just never happened.
 So today was the day......and it was a lot
of fun!!  Only wish I had longer,  but it
 was sort of a whirlwind shopping tour
 today for hubby's birthday....so went
 lots of places, but we are gonna go
back soon, as he enjoys that sort of
thing too........

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There you have it.... another week
 at  Cozy Place...........
Thanks for dropping in..............
Maybe you have something you
are particularly Thankful for this
week.....would love for you to
share it with us.
Oh, and how did you like the
houses? There will be lots more
in the coming weeks.
Have a Really Great Weekend!
Love, Hugs and
Pre-Spring Blessings to You!
Nellie
Let's tour my Daughter's home - Part 1
Hi Sweet Friends,
Happy March to you!
Getting closer and closer to Spring,
and I am sure some of you can
hardly wait!!
 It is getting warmer here every day,
 so once our birthday celebrations
 are over this weekend,  just might
start breaking out the Spring
goodies......
Told you last week I got permission
 to take and share pictures of my
daughter and son-in-loves new home.
Figured you decorating buffs would
enjoy it.............
So Decided to start with the entry
and living room.
 For better viewing
pleasure you can click on any photo
to enlarge them all............just in
case you are new to blogging!!  lol
So come on in.......
(Sorry this one is blurry, but had taken
these pics back in the Fall, and didn't
remember it being blurry or I would
have taken another one - the rest are
all fine )
This is the front entry way.......
Love their floors and they are
throughout the entire house.
This entry was a lil hard to work
 with but she finally figured out quite
 a clever way to deal with it and to
 add more storage as well.
  Love what they did here, it is the perfect
casual coastal/cottage look. She just still
needed to get a lil something for up on
the top of the right cabinet....
Now try to say that 3 times
Casual Coastal Cottage.....lol
She is using different shades
of blue and then the grays
as neutrals.
You can see her gray sofa, and
they have a love seat to match
which you will see coming up.
Love this white mirrored cabinet
they have in there,  so Pretty.
Not easy to tell it is mirrored
from the pictures.
The brick is from an old fireplace
 that used to be in the house when
 it was originally built back in
 1955, I think it was. They loved
the character the brick added.
 This home was completely gutted
and redone, and a master bedroom,
 bath and huge walk-in closet  and
another bedroom were added on,
as well.
This industrial shelf came from
their last home, but seemed
like it was just made for this
spot................
Actually everything in the living
 room was from their last place,
 other than the Sisal rug. and
the bench and cabinet in the
entry and some throw pillows......
Many items on the shelf she
repainted to go with her new
 coastal look......
The house was completely
 renovated before they purchased
it, last Fall. They loved every-
thing about it, but it was a little
smaller than what they had before,
 which they didn't mind but they
 were just worried about storage
space since it had no garage,
but they have made it work
well..........
It was also in a quaint and safe
 neighborhood and the perfect
 location for both of their jobs.
It is a white picket fence neigh-
borhood.....and I am not kidding!
You will see in future pictures.
I just love it.....liked it even
better the 2nd time we were
there!  So charming!
When we saw it for the first time,
we said it looks like Chip and Joanna
Gaines and the Property brothers
were there.........lol
You will see why more and more
as you get to see the other parts
of the house.
They have nice high ceilings
Notice that her self on the right
behind the sofa, has something
on it now.....
It is an anchor plaque and a buoy.
They found both pieces when we
 were at Home Goods while there.
She and hubby seem to have the
same taste for the most part.
Which makes life easier.
They put this round piece up while
we were there, and it is quite cute.
  right behind where you can see the door
opening on the right is where the dining
 room is located.
I will show you that in Part 2.
Here is a close up so you can see
 what the plaque says...........
