Part 2 of Let's take a tour of my Daughter's home

Hello Sweet Friends,

So are you enjoying March??
and
is it Windy at your house??

I can say yes, to both of those questions.
It is about 75 or so out right now,  but
with the wind it is delightful out on the
porch..........a perfect day, course, not
sure I would say the same if I was out
in the sun!!  lol

Today's post is part 2 of my daughter's
home..... The Dining Room.

This is how it looks from the outside.
This was turned into a dining room
from a screened in porch, and I think
they did a marvelous job.

So come on in and see for yourself.
This is the back entrance.....well, you
know what they say.....back door
friends are always the best....lol

Absolutely love all the windows......
so charming and cottage like.

As much as I love the windows
one of my thoughts was that is
gonna be fun, when it comes time
to wash all those puppies....but not
so.....because the window pane
dividers are inbetween 2 panes
of glass, so it is like washing one
big window pane. I could only tell
because I was looking at her herbs
she had growing on the window sill
and actually touched the window.
Who ever came up with that idea
was a genius.........lol

This bull head is just a fun find that
my Son-in-love liked so she put it
right where they come in the door
and figured they could hang their
keys there.  Not sure if they ever
do it tho...........lol
but it was a good idea.........

what a great ceiling idea.........between
the windows, the shiplap and the ceiling
it really is such a lovely room.
Definitely my fav room, which is hard
to choose cause I like so many things
about their home.

This pic looks a wee bit washed out
probably cause of all the light, but
wanted you to see her cute lil bench.
She wants to get a cushion or some-
thing for her bench now that she has
her chairs, but just trying to decide
still. They have another Sisal rug
in this room,  just like the one in
 their living room.

(If you would like to see the
Living room/ Part 1)

Just love how the light streams in...
This is in the late afternoon.

She had this console table from their
other home, so they decided to try it
in the dining room, since they had it
in the entry way to begin with in this
house, but then found the other bench
and cabinet to go in the entry way.

It looks quite nice there, but she
didn't want anything to distract from
the view or her pretty table and chairs
so she decided on this cute, yet under-
stated table top decor. Just 3 mason jars
with silverware in them, and she then
hung the cute lil  tin stars on them.
I thought this was a good decision.

Since we were leaving the day after
Valentine's Day to go to our daughters,
and hubby usually gets me flowers.....
I told him just to wait and when we
got to Dee's we would get some for
both of us, and enjoy them while there.
So I got the pink Tulips as she likes
Tulips as well, then we got some others
that she picked for a certain vase she has
in her kitchen, which you will see in
Part 3 that will be coming up next week.

You can see we used the Tulips in between
the candlesticks and I draped her throw
over the bench to see how it would look
 with some texture on it.......

All her chairs are the parson chairs with
white slipcovers which is really pretty
elegant and easy to clean. I really love
 the skirted chairs.

Night Time View with Shades pulled.
I took this so you could see their shades.
They are great....they have that accordion
fold look to them, and you just pull them
down and they go right back up and only
show about 2-3 inches at the most.
Perfect....especially for this room so that
they still has that wonderful view
 and light coming in.

Thanks for joining me to day,  hope you
enjoyed the 2nd tour............

Have a Delightful day.

Love Hugs, and
March Blessings.

  1. Hi Nellie, I'm sorry I haven't been around much, or at all-just life has gotten in the way if you know what I mean. Your daughter's dining room is beautiful! I'm going back through your posts so I can see the rest of her house. Yes, all four of my grandparents came from Ireland-so proud of my heritage. Hope you've been well!
    Hugs,
    Noreen

  2. Wow! I like all the light that come into the dining room from all the windows. I have the double pane windows too. I need to get Dolly's nose prints off as well!

A little white egret would look cute between the bull's horns, ha!
Waiting to see next week's pictures! Love you all, Susan

  13. It looks beautiful. In our very first house we used the sun room/sun porch as our dining room also. It was heated and we were able to have a nice size table as well. Your daughter's room brought back many memories for me! Thanks for linking up with Foodie Friends Friday!

  14. Thanks so much Lois,
Always a treat to hear from you hon. Isn't it neat how some many times when others post it
triggers a memory for us as well. Sometimes it might be that they have a certain art object
or glasses or pitcher or whatever that you yourself have or used to have or something that was given to you by somebody else. Sometimes it is a small world and it is another thing that makes blogging fun.

Hope this finds you doing well sweetie,
    Love and Blessings,
    Nellie
