Thankful Thursday December 3, 2020, pics of Christmas past #1
Greetings and Welcome to the Christmas Season,
Sweet Friends!
Have to say We Love Christmas at our house.....
It's our all time favorite holiday for sure......
So with every tree, ornament, light, wreath,
stocking or anything for that matter that reminds
of Christmas..... it also reminds us of what this
season is really about.....and that ,of Course,
would be
The Birth of Jesus
.So we are busy decorating away over here
and listening to Christmas music and will
soon we having some egg nog, and have
already had some gingerbread cookies!! lol
So I am guessing most of you are doing
the same......Happy Decorating to you!
Pictures today are from Christmas's passed
at Cozy Place.
So on with my Thankfuls.....
#1
Thankful that our Thanksgving altho, it was quite different did not mean it wasn't very enjoyable. It just meant it was quieter, less family at the same time, less preparations/work, and more one on one time with family members. Since our children married we are sort of use to different and having to work around schedules and stuff...so that has sort of prepared us, since this was just more different than usual, but all in all it was very good.
#2
Thankful that we live in America, the land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. We have been so blessed to be able to live here all of our years.
#3
Thankful for a new dessert we tried out for Thanks-giving, and I didn't make it... and it came from our favorite grocery store...Publix.
It was a New York style cheese cake with a Dulce de leche topping. It was really rich and yummy, and pretty.
#4
Thankful that our Daughter and Son-in-love
had the company of his Mom and Dad for
Thanksgiving, so they didn't have to be alone
for Thanksgiving.
#5
Thankful that I read in a Magnolia Journal Magazine that Chip and Joanna Gaines will hopefully be starting their new TV network in 2021. They said their hope is that every time you tune into their Magnolia Network, you leave feeling like it was time well spent. So I am looking forward to it, as their line up sounds really neat.
#6
Thankful all our Fall decorations are now down, and still need to be packed away. The tree is up, not decorated yet, and part of the outside lights are up, so we got a lot done on Black Friday.
#7
Thankful the Fall things are all packed away, our manger scene for the yard is up now too, and will be bringing in all the Christmas decor on Monday to get the inside of the house done.
#8
Thankful for a great morning at church singing and listening to 2 of the kids that used to be in our young marrieds class who are in training to be missionaries in France. They were explaining how things are coming with their training and why they aren't on the field yet, of course, becauseof Covid and the restrictions in France.
#9
Thankful that we got to take our friends Dad out for lunch after church, as they are gone away to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. We got married in the same year and the same month, and we didn't even know each other way back then...lol We love spending time with their Dad, he is just such a wonderful man and he is 96 yrs. old, and sharp as a tack and such a blessing to everyone!
#10
Thankful that I discovered Chocolate almond milk when we were at my daughters. I really liked it. Bought some when we came home and yesterday we bought some regular plain almond milk, and this morning I made hot chocolate with !/2 cup choc.almond milk, 1/2 cup of reg. almond milk and 1 heaping teasp. of powdered peanut butter, and it was very good, less calories and more good things in it than regular milk and since I am lactose intolerant that is even better.
#11
Thankful that during the night when the old devil was trying to get me to worrying about things I can do nothing about a song we sang in church on Sunday came flooding thru my mind so I started singing it to myself and went right back to sleep. It actually happened 3 nights in a row. The devil hates praise or singing that goes to the Lord.
We get to give it to her today!

Scripture Sunday, 1st week of Advent
Happy Sunday Morning
Sweet Friends,
Here is the verse for today.
This is the first week of Advent
The first week represents Isaiah
and other prophets in the Bible
that predicted the coming of Jesus.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 NIV
Hope you are Blessed beyond measure
during this Wonderful Season of the year!
Hugs,
Nellie

Thankful that we got to come back
to our Daughter and Son-in-loves
for another 41/2 days before
returning home this passed Monday
from our Anniversary trip
We are so grateful to Dee and
Jerry for doing so many nice
things to make our 50th
Anniversary so lovely! They
truly went above and beyond
all that we could imagine.
#2
Thankful for an uneventful and
safe trip home on Monday, and
dinner out at Perkins once we
got into town, and best of all
we met to really nice ladies,
one was 88 yrs. old and we
thought she was alone and she
was sitting near us so we
struck up a conversation with
her, then her daughter came
back from the restroom, I
guess. Anyway, we really
enjoyed them as we chatted
back and forth., and the Mom
said we had made her dinner,
cause we were such happy
people and she loved seeing
happy people, and we said
us too!! She was so sweet.
#3
Thankful for a fun time out
shopping. We went to the same
antique mall in Charleston, we went
to last time that has lots of different
vendors. Such a fun place to go,
we all enjoy it.....
#4
Thankful that we all got in the
mood for Christmas because
the Antique mall already had
a lot of Christmas decorations
and was playing Christmas
music, we so enjoyed that.....
Think they are trying to perk up
every ones spirits, course, Dee
says that she has noticed that
they do Christmas stuff earlier
here in Charleston. Maybe it's
a tradition.. Once I got home
I turned on our local Christian
station and they too, were
playing Christmas music, and
I thought what a great way to
keep our eyes on Jesus, since
most Christmas songs are
after all, about HIM!
#5
Thankful that we got some
Christmas clothes shopping done
for lil darling as well. We love
doing that too, and found some
really cute things.
#6
Thankful for just such beautiful
fall weather, and the rain, we had
that too, which thankfully went
away once that TS Theta went
passed us. Also for the lovely
weather we have had since
we've been home too. Enjoyed
our porch some this week.
#7
Thankful for the fun of working
together on a Thanksgiving table-
scape for them, as her hubbies
Mom and Dad - in- love are
coming to visit for Thanksgiving.
