Our Father's Day Table 2015

Morning Sweet Friends,

So how you been??  and
 What cha' been up to??

I am fine and things have been
so much better with our kitty,
Molly. You would never know
she had been sick. She is starting
to eat again, not just lick the water
off her food, and she even ran a lil
to get out the door this morning,
and responds to us, when I come
out the door, she gets up and
comes over to me now.
So...if you were one who prayed
for her,  then thank you from the
bottom of our heart!  Cause she
has truly made a miraculous
recovery................

This week I have just been doing
lil projects that have been nagging
and subconsciously bugging me for
a while and it has been so great
to get them done...........lol
Such a sense of freedom and
accomplishment,  I have to say.
(Will tell you about them in my
Thankful Thursday post)

Well, guess I had better get on
with showing you our Father's
Day table for hubby and my
son. It was hard to come up
with something that fit both
of our guys,  but happened
to see a sign online some-
where That said some "Super
Hero's" don't wear capes,
they are just called Dad,
so I took that and added a
bit to it,  and used a font that
look like Carpentry.

Since both our guys are handy
thought this was fitting, so made
the sign first.............made it red
and tan cause I knew these napkins
had a manly look, sort of like a flannel
shirt, so I could use those and my tan
tablecloth.
 Hubby really liked the sign!!

Then I decided to raid the garage to
see what I could find.

Found the tool box first, but never
thought to look inside until I was
 actually putting the centerpiece
together, and wow, what a nice
surprise, everything in it went so
well.  So just took that tray out
and added it to the table.

After finding the tool box.....
I just started gathering up the tools
or hardware that had red, blue, or
 black and that were
clean looking...........

I purchased the needle nose pliers
and the box cutters at walmart
(thought that would be okay since
we didn't have any TSA agents
coming for dinner. lol)
and added them to the plates to
complete the theme and figured
they would be like favors for the
guys afterwards. They were very
 inexpensive, but thought
they made a great addition.

Looked at 3 different stores to find
Dad's Root beer, but to No avail, so
thought Lord what can I do??  and the
thought came to just make my own
sign and put it on red hefty cups. So
looked up a pic of the label for
Dad's Root beer
and made it like that.....

I believe the Lord loves when we
celebrate, cause over the years
he has given me so many ideas
and has just made it easy to find
things I need, at a great price
and I remember years back when
we were a very small church, two
of my friends and I used to do the
 table decorations when we had
 fellowship dinners, and we would
all bring our decorations from home,
and we were always able to find
what we needed to go with it, and
 were always amazed how everything
just fit together so perfectly and
would come out so nicely...........
We never doubted that God had
his hand in that!!

Was going to look for candy of some
kind, and just happened to pass a
display with packages of these small
Kit Kat bars in Wally world, and
thought these would be perfect, and
as perfect as they were, they melted,
as we started noticing some problems
with our Air conditioning just about
the time we sat down for din din.
So no one got to eat them but me,
that was how I discovered the
melting. Oh well, can't have every
thing!!  lol

My Dad's Sign Says:

DAD
Since 1977 (for hubby)
and 2013 (for Scott)
Only put it on their cup, and
just used clear packaging tape,
since it just seemed fitting.
You know like Duct tape, the
handy man's secret weapon!!  lol

This is from the opposite end of
the table, where the window is,
you can see in the next picture.

This is from the other end
which faces the living room.

Got the blue candles at
Wally World too,
for a buck a piece........

An Overview

With posterized affect.  Had to do at
least one affect, ya know!!

So........ here is our Manly
"Tim the Tool Man " Table!!  lol
Hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks for coming by......

and hope to see ya again soon.

Thankful Thursday June 25, 2015, and random scenes from Cozy Place

 Those who know your name
will trust in you, for you, LORD,
 have never forsaken those
who seek you.
Psalm 91:10

Greetings Sweet Friends,

So how did your week go??

Mine has been like a roller
coaster ride of emotions as
I mostly have just been playing
nurse maid to our sweet kitty,
and bringing her in and out, and
trying to get her to drink or eat,
and putzing around the house, not
feeling all that great myself, a bit
queasy for some reason, and
NO, I'm not pregnant!!   lol
Wondering if it could be this
 heat + my own tropical
summer symtoms.

Thought I would just throw
in some pics from Cozy Place
I took this last week.

As usual, I am late again...
so just gonna jump right in,

I am thankful

#1
for the opportunity to share
some of my life story over at
Junk Chic cottage this passed
 week.
Just in case you missed
it and would like to see it.
Just click here.

#2
that the book I ordered for
hubby for Father's Day came
in last Friday and we have already
read 13 chapters (they are short)
but it is really a great book.  The
book is called "Heaven changes
everything".  It is sort of a sequel
to "Heaven is for Real".

#3
for a song they talked about in
the book by George Strait called
"I  saw God Today.  I had never
heard it before, but it really is
a great song.

or type in
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9h-SXxgws4

floral arrangement I did for our dinner
 hostess last week.

#4
for a really fun trip out with Megan
and Brooklyn last Friday to a place
called Lucky Monkey.  It was great!!
Such a nice clean and safe place for
toddlers to play, with fun things to do,
like ball rooms, things to climb on and
under, things to play with like giant
legos and magnetic pieces,  a few of
those big rubber bounce houses,  some
slow but fun rides, and it wasn't over-
crowded but just right, all the Mom's
and children were very nice and well
behaved and best of all it is reasonably
priced with air conditioning, so you
are not out at the park with these
100 degree temps. Lil darling loved
it.........and I sort of wish they had a
place like that for adults.  lol
Oh yea, and they were playing songs
from when I was a kid like "An itsy
bitsy teeny weeny yellow polkadot
bikini" and "Lollipop, Lollipop"
So that added to the fun for me.
Then we had a nice lunch at Olive
Garden, as well, so it was all a very
fun outing, and so sweet Megan
invited me.

Here you can see a lil bit of what the place
 looks like.......

and these 2 pics are of a satisfied customer
Our lil darling..............lol

#5
that lil darling is doing well with
her swimming lessons,  today will
be day 3, and Mommy will get in
the pool too,  so know she will
like that even better.   lol

All the rest of these Pics are from our
 guest bedroom

#6
that our sweet kitty seemed to be
doing better.  They have tested
her for Leukemia, which she has
been vaccinated for, but they did
say there was one type they have
no vaccination for......or it could
be her heart or cancer.  Should
get the results back today.
Note:  The results were negative
 for the leukemia.

#7
that one of our church leaders
called last night just to see how
we are doing and if there was
anything we needed prayer for
and I told him about kitty.......
and not even 10 mins. after his
call, miraculously Molly came
in the kitchen looking for food,
hubby offered her water and she
did not want that, so we had
just bought a can of Tuna for
her to see if we could get her to
eat it,  so I quickly opened it
and gave it to her and she ate
it, we were shocked ......cause
if you'd seen her the last few
days, you would have been too.
We definitely believe it was
an answer to his prayer cause
this fellow loves cats.
She also came and sat on my lap
last night (Wed.), and was acting
more normal, and she hasn't done
that all week, and she did that
again on Thurs. evening...
So things seemed to be looking
 up some...........

#8
that Molly does not seem to be
in any pain, cause today she is not
 doing well again, hardly drinking
not eating at all, just very weak.
Just decided to leave thankful #7
in so you could see what has been
happening, and if she does pass
at least we had a few sweet times
with her beforehand.  The Vet
said today she was reviewing
everything and thinks she
probably has cancer.

#9
for a really good rain last night,
we really needed it.  Our grass
is now burned in the areas that
used to be shaded by our big tree
out front.  Remember I told you
we had it trimmed back quite a
 bit...........
I am thankful too, we didn't have
to have the tree taken down or we
would have no lawn I think!!

Note: Got some more rain
 tonight!! Even my faux flowers
outside look better!!  lol

#10
for McDonald's new steak burgers.
They are delicious, and I love me
a good hamburger!!  That's a left
over from when I was a kid....my
grandparents and Dad owned and
operated a Diner,  and my Dad
made the best burgers...............

#11
for tennis shoes, cause when I wear them,
it makes my back  feel so much better.

#12
for a nice clean fridge.... that was
one thing I wanted to accomplish
today (thurs.), so was quite happy
 about that.

I am tickled pink you came by
and hope you will share some-
thing you are thankful for,
with us!!

Have a great weekend!

Love, Hugs, and
Last of June Blessings,
(Can't believe we are only 5 days away from July)

Kitchen table change, and playing with dishware and photo affects..........

Afternoon Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and happy,
and enjoying summer....if you can!
It is swelteringly hot here.....

We are doing well...... but  a bit sad
as our sweet kitty Molly is  not
doing well at all.  She has not been
eating/drinking for over 2 days now.
Took her to the Vet yesterday,  and
they did some blood work, but said
we wouldn't get results till today,
haven't heard anything yet, so will
call soon. The Vet is leaning towards
the diagnosis of kidney failure......
They gave her a shot and a pill to help
her be thirsty and have an appetite, but
it only worked on her thirst, but not
until this morning,  she drank a few
times but hasn't anymore, and she
wants no part of her food, and is
very weak and just laying around
not moving much.....So it isn't look-
ing too good.  We have accepted it,
but we really hate it for our lil darling
cause she loves Molly, and that is
typically the first thing she does
when she comes is go look for her.
Just called to get the report, and
they said her thyroid, diabetes and
kidney test came back fine.  That
is strange............makes me think
she must have cancer or something.
and the Dr. I saw yesterday is off
 the rest until Thursday..............
Course, she is so bad I don't think
it really matters, cause think she is
not long for this world.

Thought I would show you my
kitchen table changes,  made this
arrangement with the scones box
about a month ago and had it in
this vignette you see below here.
See that post here.

Then decided to change it up a bit by
adding the cake plate full of scones
and some reinvented lemon curd (out
of food coloring and milk).  For 2
people who never had scones before
this year........... we have become all
 about scones..........lol

With posterized affect

Gotta have something to spread it
 on with....right??

with photocopy affect

Just love some of these affects!!

Cutout affect

With lighting affect

Then decided to play some and make a
breakfast tablescape.

I love these scalloped plates,  they remind
me and hubby of the old restaurant plates,
as they are heavy.  Got them at Target
about 4 years ago on clearance.
 Only have 2 tho.......

Added the bread plate and then thought
it looked like a flower so it needed a
center.

So I added a muffin paper and
put a thin
lemon cookie inside.

With posterized affect

With Lens flare affect

We wound up using it as a dinner
tablescape, the fun outcome of my
 earlier playing!!  lol
See nothing ever goes to waste!!  lol

Happy you came by...........and hope
you will stop and say hello.

Hope you all have a fun
evening, chit chatting, eating and
having fun with your dear ones.

Love, Hugs and
Happy Summer Blessings,

Nellie
