Thankful Thursday January 25, 2018, Winters Past #3

 Praise be to the Lord,

 to God our Savior,
 who daily bears our burdens.

Psalm 68:19 NIV

Winter Greetings
Sweet Friends.

How are things going at your house??

They are going over here....lol
 In fact, my Christmas stuff has gone
and my Winter decorating is still
coming along........getting closer to
being finished all the time.  I am
so ready for it to be done.  As I
have other fish to fry....lol

Todays pictures are from another 
Winter Past......hopefully next week 
you will be able to see some from
 this Winter....lol

So on with my thankful list...........

So thankful that my daughters cat

 scan came back with no abnormalities.

Praise God..... from whom all 

blessings  flow.......She is also feel-
ing better, we now think it was a
pulled muscle under her ribcage.

Thankful we got both of our cars
serviced this week, and a dangerous
 airbag recall notice taken care of, 
another relief for this week!

Thankful that we were able to go
out shopping afterwards and to
dinner.  Thankful we also found
a cool new store, that has vintage
and antiques, and all sorts of cool
pieces like Joanna Gaines uses
while decorating, and they have
all sorts of different vendors.
What a fun store.....haven't seen
any stores like this in years, so
what a fun discovery.
Thankful too that we rediscovered
a restaurant we tried before but
weren't too impressed with some
yrs. back, so never went there again.
  They were packed out on Sat. night
 but we both really enjoyed it very 
much, and they are much more
 reasonably priced and have such a
 nice atmosphere and the service 
was good too.  They are called
Cheddar's........

Decided to change it up, since it
didn't show up all that well.

Thankful for the "Planet Earth"
video Series, they are just so 
interesting and educational, and
sometimes downright funny.
We were watching Planet Earth
part 2, Season 1 and episode 2,
and they had grizzly bears that
just came out of hibernation 
scratching their backs on trees
and then later a huge flock of
flamingos, marching together
and looked like an animated
Disney show, but was for real.
So funny and cute...........
We get it thru netflix in case
you are interested.............

The snow scene came from the
back cover of a Winter cottage
magazine some years back and
I stuck the lil sign on it.

Thankful I got all my laundry
done before the next cold wave.

Thankful for the blessing

of hearing lil darling singing
"This is the day that the Lord
has made" on Wednesday.

Thankful to have had contact
thru email with a childhood
friend this week, and for her
sharing some encouraging 
thoughts with me.

Thankful to have all the 
Christmas stuff down and packed
 away for another year.

Thankful to have the family room
and everything but the table redone,
in the dining room, due to it holding
 all the stuff I am using to redecorate.
In process with the foyer and living
room now..........

Thankful for Heaven and that we
know what a marvelous and
Wonderful place it will be where
there will be no more sorrow or
tears, and no more worries or
problems, and just a pefect and
Joyful, peaceful place..... just the
 thought of it is so encouraging!! 
Not that I am ready to go yet, 
 but readier than I used to be.....lol
The longer we live and the more
people we lose to Heaven and the
trials and tribulations of this world,
I believe God uses to make us 
more and more ready for Heaven.

Quick way to make new wall artwork

Hello Sweet Friends,

How are you??

Hope you might be having a bit of

 warmer weather too.  We are up to 80

 degrees here in Florida today, and we

are going back into the 60's tomorrow,

so happy about that, as I am not ready

for our Winter Season to be over.....

but the break was nice...and timely

as you will read. lol

I have just been trying to get the

 house back to normal and washing a

 ton of laundry.....as my washer and 

dryer are in the garage and when it

 was so cold..........I did not want to 

visit out there!!  lol  So now all the

 laundry is done but folding the last

 load, so quite happy about that!  

Thought I would share with you 

how I made some quick wall art

today......I have been decorating

the family room in greens, shiny

golds and white with some touches

of robins egg blue.....

So this is how it all started............

This was a picture I wrapped for

 Christmas and it was a subtle herringbone

 pattern in green,  which I used as a table

 runner a few years back, so since I didn't 

have all my wrapping paper out yet, 

 I grabbed it out of my stash and then 

hung some ribbon on it, and it looked

 way better than this picture makes it 

look for sure........lol 

Just a bad picture.!

Here is an upclose shot so you can

see how it really looks...............

It is a very thick good quality paper

as well,  so does not tear easily

which is very helpful.....

Since we happened on a new picture for 

over the fireplace,  I wanted this wall to

 have sort of a similar look, so kept thinking

what could I do with this wrapped picture

cause it would go....but what could I

do to make it look like art work.........

Well, after praying about it, I believe

 the Lord gave me an idea.........

I could string botanical prints on it......

So I went to google images and looked

for some,  but had trouble finding the

right size prints,  and then came upon

these pear prints......3 of them as you

will see below...

So I printed them all......

with the intentions of running jute 

across and pinning them on with tiny

 clothes pins, had the twine and thought

 I had the clothes pins, but can not find 

them anywhere,  so since I am not

wanting to slow down my progress,

just decided...................

to tape them on...........so I rolled  large

 pcs. of masking tape and stuck it on

the back and stuck them on the wrapping

paper.....figured I can always change it 

later if I find my lil pins.

So was happy with the way it turned out,

it solved my problem and has a unique

look to it, and now I can 

move on.............lol

but before I did I figured I should do 

a little something in this corner to make 

it go together as well......

So that's my story and I am

 sticking to it...........lol

Thankful Thursday January 18, 2017, Scenes of Winters Past #2

You will keep in perfect peace those

Greetings Sweet Friends,

All I can say is BRRRRR!
It is cold out there..... hope you are
 keeping toasty warm and cozy.....
 No snow for us tho..... so we have to
fake it here in Florida, which 
explains my winter's past photos
this week......


We have had a lot of stressful things
 going on these last few weeks, but
God has been good in the midst
of it all.............as you will read.....

#1  and 2

Thankful for a fun day out on Monday

since hubby was off. We went looking

for a new dresser and night stands in

 White, but didn't find anything we

 liked or that the drawers were made

 well...which is the problem we are

 having with our dresser we have

right now........

But thankful however, we did visit 

a Lazy Boy store which did not have

 any bedroom furniture but we did find 

out that they had reclining sofas that

 were electric and mechanical, which is 

what we have now and love,  but it is 

getting old and we have not seen any-

thing we like to replace it with, so we

 were considering just having it

 recovered, but the Lazy Boy sales

 person said you can have just about

any sofa or chair in the store made

 with just about any fabric you would

 like....which was music to my ears,

 cause most of the reclining sofas are 

leather or leather look, and it just

doesn't go with the cozy look that

we like, so that was good info to 

tuck away for future use.

Thankful for our fireplace.....as we 

have been having lots of fires at night

 lately, and they are so nice and cozy.

#4 and 5

Thankful that my daughter had a cat

scan Thursday and that everything 
went well and hopefully will get the

results tomorrow, and thankful

that her new Dr. took her seriously

and sent her right away to have it

done.......now just waiting to hear
the results........and praying they
are good.......

Thankful for a new ethnic restaurant

that we tried that we had heard about

and that is close by....they make

 fabulous Puerto Rican food.  They

make a shredded beef dish which

is like a cuban dish I make, called

Ropa Veija, and it tastes as good

as mine.............yum....gonna get

some tonight.

#7, 8 and 9

Thankful that we are close to finally

having my Mom's estate settled, as it

has been a longggg time in coming.

and

thankful that things got dispersed to

those I wanted it to.......

and

thankful we are in the process of getting
 a new realtor, which is a very good
thing....so the empty house can now
 be sold......

Thankful for some really sweet and
special to me blessings from the 
Lord this week....
I call them mini miracles....and I would 
tell you about them but it is just too long
 a story....but they have to do with
 receiving some of my Mom's jewelry
 last Saturday.  My Mom has been in
 heaven for over 12 yrs. now.

Thankful for facebook, as it helped me

find out that some dear friends of 48

yrs, lost their daughter a few months 

ago.....and we were able connect with
 them. So heartbreaking as she was 
 a sweet and beautiful young lady........
and her parents are just wonderful 
people.....the Good news is they are
 people of faith and know that their 
daughter is with Jesus.

Thankful that I have finally gotten
all the Christmas things down and
packed away.   yay!!

We are have been having some
 more cold days here again.....
but think it might be starting to
warm up some as it is going to
67 today and it is beautiful out,
sun shining and clear azure blue
 skies.......course it was like that
 yesterday and it was in the
 mid 50's.....

Still working on getting our
Christmas stuff down and put
away.  Tree is gone and most
of it down, then comes the
not so fun part -
of packing it away.  lol

Hoping to accomplish all of 
that today............will see???
