Thankful Thursday May 27, 2021, Spring decor from the past #2

Greetings Sweet Friends,
Hope this finds you having a good
end of the school year.....know it
is much different for many of
you than in the past. We have
been enjoying getting to see
our granddaughter for the
whole day again, and actually
have time to do things with her.
Cause typicallly we just get to
see her for a few hours after
school, so not much time to do
anything very involved, course,
we are just happy to see her
anytime for however long we
can have her..........so not com-
plaining, just saying!

So on with my Thankfuls......

Thankful for a trip to TJMaxx
and for dinner at our favorite
Mexican restaurant.

Thankful for how breezy and
nice it has been here in Florida,
with low humidity, even tho it
has been in the 80's this past
week. It's very unusual for this
time of year, and we have been
so blessed to be able to enjoy
being in the yard and on the porch
a lot. This next week we are going
into the 90's.....or at least that's
what the weather report says!
Will see if they are right!! lol

Thankful for another big hurdle hubby
has accomplished with our card shop,
which is gonna be great when it is
finished..........

Thankful we got to talk to the hubby
of my friend that passed away back
in February. We can tell he is having
a tough time and are glad that he might come and visit her family that is here
in Florida and her sister and hubby
who only lives 1 1/2 hrs. away from
us, and will probably stay with us
some too.

Thankful for a Good Morning
worship service, and then a
nice late lunch with my Son
and Granddaughter at his house.

Thankful that his (our Son's)
leg is better, since he torn
a muscle yesterday, so can't
be walking on it a lot. Hopefully
it will be well in a few days.
Update: all better now!

Thankful for a long chat
with my Daughter. Hoping
she might get to come in
June sometime.

Thankful for a clean home.
It stays pretty clean but we
did some spring type cleaning
this week, and just knowing
it is cleaner makes it some
how look better too. lol

Thankful that I was able to
order some nice short out-
fits for lil darling this week
from Children's place, all
at a great price.
Note: In case you have never
heard of the Children's place.
I really like that store because
they always have free shipping
and their prices are good and
even better when they have
a sale. Also, I get no payment
or benefits from saying this,
I just really like them and think
they are worthy of a shout
out! lol

Thankful for another fun
day with lil darling. She loves
pumpkin pie but never eats
the crust, so we made a
crustless pumpkin pie and
she did most of it with a lil
help from me, did quite a bit
of drawing from a how to
animal drawing book I have,
she did a great job, you could
definitely tell what they were.
Played some wii.....did quite a
lot of reading today.
Thankful that her reading skills
are are so good, I hardly had
to help her, as She sounds things
out really well on her own.
Afterward all that reading, she
was very tired so took a 2 hr.
nap in the afternoon, then woke
up feeling better and did some
more drawing, when her Daddy
came so she could show him
her new talent. lol

Thankful for our backyard,
Our trees have grown so
much that they give us a nice
canopy of shade, so we have
been enjoying sitting out there
so much because it is peaceful,
pretty and a simple pleasure
for sure.

It's been a fairly good week here,
with some bumps in the road.
I've been better, but then I have
been worse too. lol
Pictures today are from Spring Decor from the past. Since we have another month of Spring left, thought it would be good.

Thankful for a fun night out browsing
at JoAnn's craft, and having din din
at Longhorn Steakhouse.

Thankful for our Gov. Ron DeSantis
and that he has lifted all the covid
restrictions. Got to shop and dine
without a mask on Sunday...........yayyy!

Thankful for some more backyard
work we did today (Sat.) tree limb
cutting, looks so much better.

Thankful for meeting a very sweet
young lady last Sunday at church
and we asked her if she wanted
to sit with us this Sunday, since
she was alone, as her children
were in Children's church. She
accepted and seemed very happy
we asked, so was glad I asked.

Thankful for a lovely worship
service, and then lunch out with
our friends to Cracker Barrel.

Thankful for a blouse I found
at Cracker Barrel. I have
been looking for a Navy blouse
for a long time in the right shade
of Navy, and just happened on it

aren't looking for them.......

same friend above.

Thankful for a new marriage book
we are reading which is generating
a lot of good conversations between
hubby and I, and that's always a
blessing.

Thankful for some truth that has
needed to be revealed to someone
we love and it has finally happened,
sad but unfortunately necessary.

Thankful for what was an emotional
surprise phone call from the Sister of
my dear friend who passed away back
in February. Wed. was not a good
day for me, and I was missing/wishing
I could call my friend and talk to her
cause she was a prayer warrior and
always very positive and had wise
advise or comments. She and her Sister
were so much alike, and they even
sound alike, so when I heard her voice
on our voice mail I just had a melt
down, but felt like it was such a gift
from God. We talked for hours and
it was such a blessing.

Thankful for another fun day
with our lil Granddaughter.
We played chick-fil-a drive
through had breakfast on
the porch as it was nice and
breezy, then played grocery
store, hide and seek with stuffed
animals, she and hubby put
a bird house kit together, and
she started painting it, watched
some planet earth animal videos,
and then in the later afternoon
her lil friend nextdoor was able
to come over and they played
drive thru again, and Grampy
took the for a wagon ride, then
we played restaurant, and we
were the customers. A full day
of fun.....we are tired but happy
campers........lol

new nephew arrived safely and
Mom and Baby or doing well.

Thankful Thursday May 13, 2021, Pictures of our porch re-fresh

Greetings Sweet Friends,
Hope it has been a good week for you.
It has been a good week here, not a
lot going on this week, which is not
a bad thing........so we did get a few
things accomplished which we are
quite happy about anyway and
it has to do with this rug below..
Pictures today are from our
finally finished porch redo
that we started in early Spring..
The cushions and pillows on the
swing were from my kids last
year for Mother's day, I think
it was. We put a fresh coat of paint
on our swing my Father-in-law
made us as a housewarming present
over 40 yrs. ago.
We pressured cleaned and put
a fresh coat of urethane on the
porch floor. Bought new rugs,
and regular bed pillow cases
that covered some older cushions,
which will be very easy to launder
if need be, and had the blue pitcher
and the hot pink flowers already.
So very happy to have it finished.
So on with my Thankfuls.....

Thankful we finally repotted a large Scheffler
plant we had moved off the porch into the yard,
but it was not liking all the sunshine and heat,
so we found some pretty pots at Sams and
got her done on Saturday. That baby was
really heavy, course, we made the mistake
of watering while it was still outside, so
that didn't help any! lol
Here she is below. Her leaves should
turn a nice dark green as she is out
of the sun more.

Thankful to finally have finished our porch
re-do. It was mostly done but needed to put
my new rugs down, that I got for my birthday
the end of March and our newly repotted
plant. Very happy with the results. Not
spectacular or anything, but looks great
to us.....

Thankful for a BLT Sandwich for breakfast
this morning. Haven't made one of those
in years, and it was really delicious.

Thankful that Lil darling and her Mom
are fine. Praise the Lord, as They were in a
car accident this week, that may have
totaled the car. She is still waiting
to hear.

Thankful for a truly Wonderful
and blessed Mother's day from
morning to night. My cup
is full an running over!! lol

Thankful for all the cards and gifts
from my family (even when my
Daughter can't be here, she always
makes sure she does some special
things for me, and I got to talk to her
several times as well. Also thankful
for unexpected text and facebook
messages from other family and friends.

Thankful for the lovely dinner
made by hubby and our Son.
Filet Mignon, Corn, Salad,
Strawberry fluff, rolls, and
Strawberry lemonaid.
All my Favorites and every bite
was delicious, so much so. we
didn't even have dessert which
we will definitely have tonight,
Brownie Sundae's,
Can hardly wait. lol
Note: We had them and they
were awesome as always.

Thankful to have had over 5 hrs
to visit with just us, and our Son,
which has not happened in probably
10 years for that length of time.
So that was a huge blessings for
this Mama.......and I think....
for all of us really.

feel of fresh linens on our bed.

Thankful to have had our lil
Granddaughter for the whole day,
now that she is out of school. We
will get to see her more now, so
we are happy about that.

Thankful for this adorable tablecloth
I found quite by accident last year.
It was perfect with all the colors and
the tropical look, that added
touch of whimsy to the porch.

Thankful that she was able to have
her lil friend from next door over
in the afternoon. They haven't
seen each other in a long time.
So they were overjoyed to see
each other, so sweet!
