Thankful Thursday July 25, 2024, More pics of Summer golf cart tour #2

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

Peaceful Summer Greetings
Sweet Friends,
Hope this finds you doing well.
Been a good week here.  Quiet
but good. Not a lot going on,
too hot to go out for the most
part.  Course, lots of other crazy
stuff going on in our country
for sure.......and it gets crazier
by the day.
I am thankful the Lord is in
control of it all............

Pictures today are a continuation of last weeks Summer Golf Cart tour.
from when we were in Charleston S. Carolina a few weeks ago.  As you
will see they were taken over 4th of
July weekend.  lol

If you would like to see Part 1

Now on with my Thankfuls.......

#1
Thankful that we got to have the day with lil darling. Had her fav breakfast, Played a few games,  made brownies, and she did most all of it, watched her build a house on her ipad with something called Ro blocs? Not sure if that is the correct
spelling or name exactly!!  lol  But she is really good at it. Read a story, and I can't remember what else.  lol
Fun day tho....she talks with her
friends and loves that ipad.

#2
Thankful for a sweet and friendly
teenage checker at our local Publix
grocery store.  We had a nice conversation about her name, it was
"Brielle", have never heard that before but thought it very pretty and told her so which led to her nick name
Brie, and she said it was like the
Brie Cheese , then we got started
talking about Brie cheese, and a
lady came in our line and she got
into the conversation about cheese and was really nice too.  It was
wonderful, like a flashback of the
old days before covid. We were all
very intentional in trying to make
conversation........loved it!!

#3
Thankful for "Crazy Puffs" from
Lil Caesars pizza.  They are so good,
and we have started getting them
instead of a pizza.  They look sort
of like muffins full of mozzarella
cheese with just a lil bit of sauce.
Pairs greatly with a nice salad
and makes an enjoyable dinner.

#4
Thankful for a fun evening with our sweet neighbors, the ones who bring us delicious veggie soup quite often.
Had them over for dessert, as we haven't seen them much lately, so
it was really a nice evening.

#5
Thankful for a new cereal we found that it really good.  It is a new flavor
of Cheerios (Oat Crunch w/ almonds)
It is so good with fresh strawberries.
They both were buy 1 get 1 free this
week.  The strawberries were the organic ones too.  They taste so much
better, the have been very expensive lately, so have been getting the normal ones.  We also like Cheerios, that have the strawberry/Banana flavor too. We have really been into cereal lately, lol,  guess cause it is hot outside and it's super easy.

#6
Thankful for my hubby. We have a fun
in our kitchen but we have to put it on top of the fridge cause the ceiling is too low for a ceiling fan, so we have
to climb on a chair to turn it on and
off, so I just casually mentioned when we were at my Daughter that maybe
we should put on of these lil toggle
switches on the cord, anyway, hubby be the techy person he is....talked about making it one with a remote.
My reaction was do we really need
another remote controller, we have
a ton of them it seems now!!  lol
Anyway, he did remote it once we
got home and it's "Awesome", and we
just click the remote and it's on or
off, boom.... just like that, no more
chairs needed.  My Hero!

#7
Thankful for magazines,  I am still
and old fashioned girl,  I love to
throw my feet up and browse and
read through them.  Right now I
have a Southern living magazine.
such fun!!

#8
Thankful to be feeling a bit better
than on Sunday, as I really felt I
had a cold coming on, but thinking
it might just have been allergies,
cause we cleaned and dusted our
porch, and I am allergic to dust.
Doesn't that sound ridiculous.....
but it's unfortunately true.
Might be more than that cause
it is still hanging on.........

#9
Thankful we got our ballots done
and mailed for the August
20th election.

#10
Thankful that 2 of our friends text
us today to see if we were okay,
since we didn't go to church on
Sunday cause I wasn't feeling well.
Always nice to know you are missed,
especially when you have been
going to the same church for 44 yrs.  lol

#11
Thankful that a lil baby, named Jeremiah who had open heart surgery yesterday is doing well.  He was born april 30th and had breathing difficulties and has been in the hospital every since then.
This is his 2nd operation for his heart,
they were finally able to close the
whole in his heart that he had.
Hopefully soon he will be able to
come home.  His parents have 4
other children and the hospital is
about an hour away, so they have
been having to drive there daily.
So you can only imagine the stress
and strain on the family.
If you feel so led, please pray for
them as they sure have their
hands full,  but have had the best
attitude in spite of it all.

#12
Thankful hubby went for his dental
cleaning today, and got a great report.  Always happy to hear that.

Thankful Thursday July 18, 2024, and Summer Golf Cart rides in Charleston neighborhood. #1

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
Colossians 3:16 NIV

Summer Greetings Sweet Friends,

How are you today??  Hope you are having

a bright and sunny day............

Once we got settled in we haven't done a

whole lot accept watch the RNC at night.

It's really been enjoyable and encouraging.

Looking forward to seeing Pres. Trump

speak tonight.......as we have heard he

torn up his old speech and wrote a whole

new one.........interesting!!

Pictures today are scenes from our Golf Cart

ride in our Daughter and Son-in-loves

neighborhood in Charleston S. Carolina a few

weeks ago.  I love seeing how houses in

 other states look.............

On with my Thankfuls..............

#1

Thankful to be sleeping back in my own bed,  even tho. I slept very comfortably at my Daughters.  Just something about your own bed.   lol

#2

Thankful that we are all unpacked and everything put away, and that we have fresh food in the house again.

#3

Thankful that are lawn and plants all looked

great since we had a lot of rain at home while

 we were gone

#4

Thankful that our Daughter put us on to Aldi grocery store and the $ savings.  Our's is not real close to us, so we did an instacart shopping venture, and it turned out great.  Their prices are really good, I have to say, and our shopper did a great job.

#5

Thankful for a good day with lil darling. We hadn't seen her in a couple of weeks, so always great to be with her.

#6

Thankful hubby was able to get the lawn mowed as it was pretty long after being gone and it has been raining, and is supposed to rain again this afternoon.

 Looks mucho better now!!

#7

Thankful President Trump is okay, after the attempt on his life on Saturday. Talk about a miracle, it is truly a miracle he is alive, as it was such a close shot.

Feeling awful about the other man that was killed and others that were injured. Praying for the healing of Pres. Trump and all of the victims and their families, and for everyone that was there, as I am sure it was terrifying and traumatic to say the least, and is gonna take some time to recover from.

It was good to see President Trump at the RNC all week.  He is a courageous man!

#8

Thankful for all those secret service people who reacted so quickly and did their very best to defend and take care of Pres. Trump. They did an awesome job, and it was very heart warming to see what they did.

#9

Thankful for a good day at church, and a good sermon by our Senior Pastor, that is in the midst of retiring. Loved how he closed our service this morning....with 3 mins. of silence. He said, and I heartily agree, that people are always so busy no one takes time to sit in silence anymore, to our own detriment.

#10

Thankful to get to go to lunch with our lunch buddies,  we have been missing our lunches lately due to one of the other of our schedules.

So it was great to be together today.

#11

Thankful for a nice long Sunday nap, while it

rained outside. It's been a few weeks since

 I've had one.  So refreshing.

#12

Thankful for a new recipe I made last

night, that our Daughter had made for us

whenwe were there the end of February.

It's a one pot pasta dish, and delicious

andeasy to make.  Think the recipe is

for about 6 people.  It is a recipe from a blog

called "What's Mama cooking". Here is a link to it or go to her blog and look in her

recipes for "Creamy Rigatoni with

Boursin Cheese.

You won't be sorry!!  lol

As you can see the houses are all

different sizes and shapes which makes it

such a quaint, and charming older

 neighborhood, no cookie cutter

anything.  That's why there is so much

renovating and new builds; some older

homes are being either reno'd or torn down

an new ones built.  Most of these were new

homes or homes I just didn't remember

 from before.

#13

Thankful for some sweet Wedding pics

that we rec'd via text.....of the Son of a

Vietnamese young man we met over 30

yrs. ago, that worked with my hubby,

and who became like family. We went

to his wedding years ago, and now his

Son just got married in a small wedding

in Nebraska.  His Son and his bride

are both both Officers in the Navy

and went to the Naval academy.

The ship his Son was commissioned

on was the USS Militus, that was named

after a POW/MiA from the Viet Nam

war. I couldn't get over how fitting

that was, and if you knew his Dads

story, you would be amazed at his

legacy.....

He also has a Daughter who is

joining the Air Force and is gonna

be on a swim team for them.

They are all believers in Jesus.

So proud of them....

Thankful Thursday July 11, 2024, and Summer themed whimsical pictures

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort
2 Corinthians 2:3

Summer Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well, and enjoying

Summer vacation with your kiddles.

We have been away visiting our older

kiddles........Our Daughter, Son-in-love

and Furry Grandson Dog, Bentley.

Pictures this week are of whimsical summer themes, just for the     fun of it, Compliments of Pixabay.

   On with my Thankfuls.....

#1

Thankful we got to go visit with our Daughter, Son-in-love and Grandson Dog Bentley. We always have such good time just being together.

#2

Thankful we got there and back safe and sound with uneventful trips.  We had a near miss on the way up, so thankful the Lord protected us from an accident. Had very lil rain on the way back, which was unexpected,  but thankfully just got some about an hour before we reached our home land.  lol

I really don't like driving in the rain!!

#3

Thankful we got to spend 4th of July with them.  It was a fun relaxing day, hanging out in the pool, eating burgers and dogs, and a wonderful dessert we made with brownies with choc. chip cookies on top, and ice cream.  YUMMY!  Been awhile since we were together for the 4th!  So that was quite nice.

#4

Thankful we have had great pool weather everyday, so we really enjoyed that so much, and got a lil sun.  I just love a pool.

#5

Thankful that our Daughter always makes us our fav quiche and cream cheese/ strawberry coffee cake. So delicioso!! Also, thankful for take out, and for a fun times cooking together as well. We enjoy both!

#6

Thankful for online worship services. We couldn't pull our church up this time,  for some reason, but got to see theirs, and other Pastors we sometimes watch when we have to stay home.

#7

Thankful for a sweet photo we got of lil darling and her cousins from the 4th of July. They are all so cute and she is always over the moon happy when she gets to be with them.

#8

Thankful for a fun golf card ride around the neighborhood where our kids live. It is an old but wonderful neighborhood, and there is a lot of building and renovating going on.  Couldn't believe all the changes.  Love golf cart rides too, they make me feel like a kid again with the breeze blowing thru our hair, and greeting folks riding or walking around.

#9

Thankful for people who makes us laugh. We watched a number of dry bar comics this week, and they all have good clean and funny jokes. Laughter is good medicine for our soul as well

#10

Thankful for rest and relaxation and just having the time to talk and listen, and share life. We are all very present with each other, and I love that...............Her hubby did have to work,  but he was able to get off early most days so that nice, and was home all day a few days.

#11

Thankful for fun times playing card games.

We always enjoy that too.

#12

Thankful that we were able to squeeze in a lil bit of shopping too. Not quite as fun as normal cause the stores were just jammed with people,i t was a bit difficult navigating in Home Goods.

So many people moving to SC like in Florida, so not sure if that is it, or maybe it's tourists since it is summer. She said it is always like that on weekends, but has never seen it like that on week days. We managed to have fun anyway!

That's it for today at Cozy Place,

This is the vacation edition.

Hope you are enjoying Summer

Thanks for Swimming by.......

Love, Hugs and first of July

Blessings,

Nellie
