Thankful Thursday December 26, 2024, and our Christmas Breakfast Table 2024

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
Matthew 1:23

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you have all had a Wonderfully blessed Christmas. Hard to believe Christmas had come and gone so quickly. Course, it always does. We are blessed that our South Carolina kids are still here with us, so we are still celebrating,  which is delightful.  It's been a really great time for all of us.

 thing put away in the guest bedroom.

Beef Stew is made for Christmas

eve dinner and for our dinner tonight.

#5

Thankful for a lovely Sunday.  Our

lead Pastor preached this Sunday and

next Sunday will be his last Sunday to

preach as our lead Pastor, but I am

sure he might be filling in here and

there in the future probably.  It

was good to see everyone and wish

them Merry Christmas along with

singing Christmas carols.

#6

Thankful we got to go out and celebrate an early Christmas dinner with our friends.  We went to this lovely place that is like a country Inn, although it is buffet style, but the food is great, and  it was decorated so nicely as well. So we had a great time.

#7

Thankful that we got to go by and visit with our Son on Sunday as well, and see all he and lil darlings Christmas decorations and they did a great job, everything was so festive.

Thankful Thursday December 19. 2024, and Christmas in the foyer and living room

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:21 NIV

Christmas Greetings

 Sweet Friends,

My guess, if you are like us, that you

are still in preparation mode.  We

are slowly winding down, today I will be

 making some cakes for our neighbors,

haven't done that for years, as I decided

to give that up years ago in order to

have a less stressful Christmas and

just bought something instead, but

for some reason I decided to make

cakes again this year.  So will see how

that goes................

Hope you are having a Merry time

with your preparations and are not

feeling overwhelmed or stressed.

Pictures today are of our Christmas

Foyer and living room decorations.

Now on with my Thankfuls...............

#1

Thankful for a fun evening out with our

 Son and lil darling.  We went to her School Christmas program, which was really nice,

and her class did a skit that was really cute and she had quite a few lines, and did a great job.  Then we all went out to dinner

together where she chose......Texas Roadhouse!!  It was cold and it was nice to get dressed up a lil Christmasy.!  lol

#2

Thankful that hubby caught a charge on

 our bank statement that was on my debit card, and we never use our debit card,

as we don't feel they are safe.  So hubby

called the bank and they have refunded

our money (fortunately it was only for

$48) while they are investigating, and

are sending me a new card. We have

no idea how they could have gotten it

as that card has not been out of my

wallet in I don't even remember when,

but thanking the Lord it is taken care

of and so far, no other charges.

Lil darling made us this JOY sign in art class,  so had to find a perfect place
to display it.  So the wreath was it!!

this window is also in the foyer

#3

Thankful that all our gift

wrapping is done and under the

tree now.  So now we can move

on to cleaning, which shouldn't

too bad.

#4

Thankful for a fun time being entertained

 at lil darlings dance recital today. (Sat.)

they did the "Nutcracker" and it was quite

 good.  She was a nutcracker soldier, and

 did a great job, and I really enjoyed a lot of the costumes, they were so pretty, and of

course there were beautiful ballerinas.

#5

Thankful for a good time after we left there, as we went to a shopping center we have only been to twice.  We looked around a lil bit, but it was just so crowded and we were hungry as well,  so cut it short and went to an olive garden near there. It was a nice time tho, Something a lil different.

#6

thankful for a wonderful Christmas presentation that was put

 on by our church on Sunday.  It was

really so wonderful.....it was like a

 musical and a play.  Very Good and very enjoyable.

We have so many talented people in

our church it's amazing.

#7

Thankful for another productive

day, mapping out Christmas meals,

 and creating grocery lists, and

 working on Christmas cards for

the family.

Hubby did the vaccuuming, so the

most of the house looks great,

need to dust in bedroom and office,

 then he can vaccuum in there too,

and it will all be done.  He also

helps me with a variety of other

tasks as well.  Very thankful

for all his help.

#8

Thankful that I finally got around

to making my own rendition of a

fruit cake.  Been gonna do that for

a number of years now. I just used

a yellow cake mix and put all the fruit

 and nuts in there, in a bundt pan.

It tastes and smells wonderful but

parts of the cake are a bit crumbly,

it did get more stable after  settling

 in over night.

Hubby thinks it's so good I should make

 them for our neighbors.

I am gonna make some cakes but they

won't be fruit cakes tho.  lol

#9

Thankful I got more cards made today,

and the ones printed that I made yesterday,

 also printed a scavenger hunt sheet for

 Christmas day game playing,  washed a load

of clothes, got my grocery list done   for Christmas eve and Christmas

 breakfast and dinner.  Refrigerator

 cleaned out, so we can now go grocery shopping in the next day or so.

been a good and productive day!!

#10

Thankful to talk with my Daughter

for awhile today,  and to get the

majoritey of our Christmas breakfast

and dinner shopping done, so all we

need to do is just get those last min.

items which should be quick. Also took

a blouse back that came in the wrong

size and it turned out to be flannel

as well, and even if it fit, it would be

too hot for our Christmas day here in

 Florida.  lol  Thankfully I had ordered

another top which came today and

 I am keeping to wear. So that was nice.

#11

Thankful that all things that were

ordered have arrived, and most are

wrapped and under the tree,  just

a few loose ends.

#12

 thankful that lil darling is able

to go with my Son to his Christmas

Party at his new job, since his boss

has 2  girls near her age that are

going.  It's in Miami ..... So it will

be a lil adventure for them too!

Thankful Thursday December 12, 2024, and Christmas Decorating in the Family room

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

John 16:33 NIV

Christmas Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you enjoying this time of the year!

We are enjoying all our finished decorations, and

 about finished with our Christmas shopping,

so now we are in wrap mode, and cleaning mode.

 We had some warmer and beautiful days,

 but today it is cold again, which is great

 as we are going to a Christmas program tonight,

and that just feels more Christmasy to me, when

it is cold,  plus I can wear my one Christmas

sweater  that I have.  lol

Pictures today are of our Christmas decorations

 in the family room, for 2024.

So on with my Thanfuls

#1

Thankful for another great school day, and that she

 got finished early enough to help me do more

 Christmas decorating.  She does such a great job

 cause she is very creative, and we have a lot of fun

doing it as well.

#2

Thankful for a new facebook friend, our server from

 Olive Garden,  she is such a sweet young Mom, and

 we got talking about Thanksgiving and what we had

 and I was telling her about the party chicken that I

 make.......so she wanted the recipe, so was able to

 send it to her.  I really enjoy young people.

#3

Thankful that I am finally finished with the Christmas

decorating............Halleleujah.....can you hear me

 singing!!

It takes a long time cause I have accrued 40+ years of

Christmas stuff,  much of it as gifts, so only get to use

 it once a year, so want to use as much of it as I

 can.....as I get such a kick out of the nostalgia for

it all as well, plus I may not always be able to do

 this............ since I am getting close to 73 yrs.,

  but I do really enjoy it even tho it is a lot of

 work............it's good and fun work.

#4

Thankful for a lovely Sunday.....getting to hear par2

 of last weeks sermon on our identity in Christ

 with another  week to go. Then after church, some

quick trips to Aldi's, Bealls, and Sam's club and then

 lunch just the two of us at Outback Steakhouse.

#5

Thankful for our Christmas presents that came early.

Hubby needed a new phone cause somehow he wrecked

his camera, and I needed a new bike, so they both came

the same day!!  lol     Merry Christmas to us!

My new bike is so cute - I stuck a pic in down

below.........so you could see it.

#6

Thankful for "Up Faith and Family" app for all their

 fun and clean Christmas movies that we have been

 enjoying this Christmas Season.

#7

Thankful that lil darlings school had like a market place

 for the kids to make things to sell.  She and one of her

 lil friends make bracelets, necklaces and earrings, and

 they sold $80 worth of their wares,

so they split the money.  $40 each........

 I thought that was so cool..............

#8

Thankful and enjoying my new bike. We have

 taken several bike rides now and it was so enjoyable

 as the weather is beautiful as well.  I love

 everything about the new bike, so I am the

happiest kid in the neighborhood............lol

And here she is in all her glory!!

Think it was meant to be since her first name inNel....lol

#9

Thankful for a long phone conversation with my

 girl today. Always enjoy that so much.

#10

Thankful for what was like a gourmet din din tonight.

Hubby wanted to try some steaks that were marinated

 in Italian dressing, cause he read somewhere that is

 what they do in restaurants.

So we made some Good Season's dressing and

 marinated them overnight to see if we would like

 to do that for our Christmas  Dinner. I made

baked potatoes and a nice salad to go with it.

  So it was an excellent meal. The steaks were great,

 and realized we can still season them with garlic

 powder and seasoned salt (which is what we

 normally do)........

They were so tender and delicious.

So his experiment was a success.

#11

Thankful for the ability to read and enjoy what I am reading.....

12

Thankful last, but surely not least, for Jesus, who is

 our Savior, Lord and coming King, and without

which their would be

 NO Christmas!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, that's a wrap for Cozy Place this week.
Thanks for coming by,
and
Let every Christmas tree, wreath, ornament, song,
 and decoration remind you of
Jesus, the true meaning of the Season.
Love, Hugs and
Merry Christmas Blessings,
Nellie
