Thankful Thursday August 21, 2025, and Beautiful flamingoes

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”

Rev. 5:13 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

How are you doing this week!

Great, I hope.....and if you are

in the Hurricane Erin areas know

we are praying for your safety

and for no damage to your home.

Pictures today are inspired by my header picture,

that is a picture in my Daughters office.  I

think it is so cute....and I just love flamingoes

as well,  guess it's a Florida girl thing!! lol

On with my Thankfuls

#1

Thankful for a new dessert recipe I saw on another blog. It's called a chocolate layer

dessert and it looks amazing. Got all the

stuff to make it this week, cause a friend

was supposed to come over, but it didn't

work out, so decided to wait to make it

when we are gonna have company cause

it makes a lot...too much for just us

You can find it at

Southern Hospitality Blog

where you can print out the recipe.

#2

Thankful for Good News for hubby from

his Cardiologist today, and nice we are all

on the same page about a situation he is

watching.

#3

Thankful for a fun dinner out with our

Son and lil darling. Great to see them

as it's been awhile.

#4

Thankful to be schooling for lil darling

again.  We will get to see her at least

once or twice a week again. Was a

good day getting back on track.

#5

Thankful for our sweet and beautiful

Daughter.....today is her birthday and

we think she is the best Daughter in

the world.

#6

Thankful for a lovely morning at church,

and for a nice lunch out with our lunch

buddies.  Wasn't real crazy about my

food, but being with our friends made

up for it.  lol

#7

Thankful to hear their Son got a new job

in his field. He has had a job but it really

wasn't in his field, but needed a job so

did what he had to do...........So happy

this job came available and he starts

this week.  He's very happy about that.

#8

Thankful for frozen yogurt from

the rac-trac station.  It is so good!

and cooled us off cause it is beastly

hot out there.........lol

Maybe I should be hanging out with

these flamingoes below.  lol

#9

Thankful for the things God has

and is teaching me about giving grace

to others in hard situations.

#10

Thankful that a letter I wrote to some

one about a serious situation seemed to

be rec'd in the spirit in which I wrote

the letter, which is a real praise!!

#11

Thankful we get to pick up lil darling

from school today!  She actually goes

to school 2 days a week and home

schools the other days.  Which is

a perfect way to do it we think.

#12

Thankful that we and our Daughter

and Son-in-love dodged the Hurricane

Erin bullet, and hoping and praying

N.Carolina and Virginia do okay.

That's it for Cozy Place today.

Glad you came by

Have a great rest of the week.

Thankful Thursday August 14, 2025, and sneak peeks from my Daughters house

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.
Psalm 145:3 Niv

Morning Sweet Friends,
Hope this finds you well and happy
this morning.  Been a quiet week here.
Will let the post do the talking.  lol

Pictures today are of some peeks of our Daughter and Son-in-loves house.  I took
these awhile back and just came across
them and realized I don't think I ever
posted them for you to see.  She has
a Coastal theme at her house.
A friend of hers painted rainbow row.
One of Charleston's famous sights.

So on with my Thankfuls..............

#1

Thankful for "Sweet Loren" ready made

but bake yourself cookies, we have had

the fudge brownie and the salted caramel

cookies and they are really good, and they

have good ingredients.  Our store has

them on sale at times, so I usually wait

for then to get them.. lol

#2

Thankful that it seems we have finally

entered the monsoon season here in

Florida and all the rain is definitely

made our temps more bearable.

Note: At least that is how it appeared

at the first part of the week. lol

They had the board and batting installed.

Really added a nice look since it is such

a long hall way.

#3

Thankful for a fun night out, just going

to Sams club, the grocery store, and

Home Sense store, then out to our

fav Mexican restaurant.

#4

Thankful I found a really cute new scalloped

piece to use in my decorating, and was able to

purchase it with a gift card my Son gave

me for Mother's Day. Scalloped things

are trending, and I am not very trendy

but I think this trend is quite cute, so

sometimes I like to just add a couple of

things just for a fun touch of whimsy.

#5

Thankful that I am sort of starting

to get the itch to decorate for Fall,

so will be really be ready by the end of

August, so will get my Fall things

up early this year.  It's hard to think

about when it is so hot, but now that

it is cooling some.........yea!!

#6

Thankful that I got my Daughters

Birthday card and something I made her

done in time for my Son to take it to her,

when he picks up lil darling on Sunday.

#7

Thankful my sweet hubby took it over

to my Son's house and thankful our

Son delivered it to her on Sunday.

#8

Thankful for the good message we heard

this morning from a Pastor in Tennessee

that we really enjoy. We typically watch

our church, but for some strange reason we

could not get the livestream from our

church this morning.

Hubby was really not feeling too good

this morning, think he has a flu bug, and

think I have a touch of it too.  He is

back to bed sleeping now.

#9

Thankful that hubby and I are both

feeling better, hopefully the bug has

done it's work and is outta here!  lol

#10

Thankful to have heard from 3 of my

friends this week, they all said they

had been thinking about me and thought

they would let me know.  Guess the

Lord knew we needed some prayers.

I so appreciated hearing from all of

them, and thankful for their prayers.

It was a blessing for sure.

This pic and the one above are pics from a

 South Carolina artist.

Love the colors and ladies.....

Aren't they cute!!

#11

Thankful for a clean and organized

pantry.  My long over due job for

 this week.  lol

#12

Thankful for the folks who take

care of the waste management in our

area.  They sure make life easier for

us all.  We had friends that used to

live in a very rural area, and they didn't

have that luxury, and had to take their

waste to the dump themselves, and it

was quite a distance from their house

as well.

Can you tell at one point in my life

I liked (still do) and sold wall accessories???

I think they are like jewelry for

the home............

Well,  that's all today from Cozy Place,

Happy you came and  hung out with us

Thankful Thursday August 7, 2025, and Fun Summer vibes

The day is yours, and yours also the night;
you established the sun and moon.

It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth;

you made both summer and winter.

Psalm 74:16-17 NIV

Morning Sweet Friends,

And  Happy August,

can't believe we are already a week in to it.

Been a quiet week here, not much going on,

have had quite a few thunderstorms this week,

but good to get the rain as we have needed it.

Pictures today are just some whimsical and fun

Now on with my Thankfuls............

#1

Thankful we are all unpacked and back to normal,

after our trip last week. Good sleeping in our bed again, even tho we were comfy at our Daughter's,  just something about your own bed!!  lol

#2

Thankful to see our Son and Granddaughter, aka lil darling.  It has been 3 weeks since we have seen them, as she has been having so much fun with friends and family this summer, but school will be starting soon and we will be seeing her weekly again. Looking forward to that but been a nice break for all of us.

#3

Thankful she is gonna be going to see our Daughter again just before she goes back to school, and they are both so looking forward

 to it.

Note: She arrived there yesterday.

#4

Thankful for things in the news that are just plain

laughable.  I just read where several cancer drugs

are found to be able to cure Alzheimer's, get this...

in mouse (not even mice) who have Alzheimer's.

I so wanted to leave a comment,  but there was

no where to do it unfortunately.  My comment

would be... an how do they know....

 a mouse has alzheimers????  lol

#5

Thankful I finished and put 4 new cards in our shop this week.

#6

Thankful Gorgeous and Beautiful  (our new

hydrangea plants) are looking okay....

we had drip lines set up and they did

okay but they had turned  from white to

green cause they were getting so much water

before we left, and newer flowers that opened

were still white.  Unfortunately while we were

gone , they were only getting water from the dripline, and we weren't getting any rain here

so some of the flowers and leaves look burned,

and turned brown, but mostly they did survive...

they just don't look as pretty!!

It was just so hot, so they needed more water

evidently.  Hopefully next year it won't be so

bad since they will hopefully be more established.

#7

Thankful for a good day back at church,

great message, and good to see all our

Pastors, friends and congregants.

#8

Thankful we got to go out to lunch

with our lunch buddies,  it was very

nice as it has been a month or so

since we have seen them due to our

schedules.

#9
Thankful  for a sweet blast from the past on Sunday, While having lunch with our friends, a young man, who is now in his upper 40's, and used to be in our College and Career bible study 25+years ago. Some how recognized us, (which was a shock!  lol) and he came over to talk
with us. He had a beard so at first we weren't sure who he was until he said his name, then
we knew immediately. It was so good to see him, and he looked good. Been trying to find him on facebook so we could find out more about how
he is doing, but so far, nada!

#10

Thankful for frozen yogurt from our Race Trac

gas station.  It's been quite awhile since we have

been there cause their machines were never working well for some reason, so we just stopped going which was probably good in the

 long run.  lol

But it sure was yummy yesterday.

#11

Thankful that I happened to see on

Newsmax about a Christian Credit

union that is like a bank. So we are

checking it out.  So far, so good!

The bank we use that was very close

to us closed, so we have to travel a

little to get to a branch now, and sometimes

it's not very convenient, but this one

wouldn't still be as close, but it is

a lil closer than the other, and has

has good  perks as well.

#12

So Thankful that God loved me and my family

and anyone in the world so much that He sent

us Jesus, to rescue us.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:16-17

Thanks for coming by.....

That's it for Cozy Place this week.

Have a Sunny rest of the week,

Love, Hugs, and

Happy August blessings,

Nellie
