Thankful Thursday March 4th, 2021, More Winter Decorating 2021

Praise be to the LORD,

for he has heard my cry for mercy.

Psalm 28:6 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and happy and

 enjoying maybe some warmer weather,

and hope if you were without power you

 have it back by now.

As I was writing my opening, I realized

I might as well make it my Thankfuls

now, or I would just wind up being

 redundant. Pictures today are from

more of our Winter decor this year.

So on with my Thankfuls....

#1

Wednesday of last week our Daughter

came to visit, you might remember, so it

was a whirlwind visit, but we made

the best of every minute and we didn't

spend time cooking and cleaning up.

We went out and we got take out and

ate off paper goods, so that we could

visit with the short time we had.

It just goes by all too quickly but

We are indeed Thankful for that

wee bit of time, as it certainly beats

not seeing her.   lol

#2

It has been Bitter/Sweet week for us,

as while my Daughter was here, which

we cherish so much, We also lost our

Dear Friend Arlene late last Thursday

Evening. As we were in the car leaving

Cracker Barrel, her Husband was so

sweet to call us, so that we could talk

to her for a few minutes...she could not

talk but she could hear us, because he

put the phone up to her ear, and he said

he could tell she heard us. Then about

an hour or so later he texted us that

she was gone. We are very sad for her

precious family, and for ourselves, but

We are Thankful for her, and what a

lovely person she was, and for 47 yrs.

of wonderful friendship that we had

with her, but Thankful that she is no

longer suffering and is with her sweet

Lord.....and having the time of her life,

 I would bet....if I were a betting woman,

which I am not!! lol

Think we are all still trying to wrap

our mind around it, with melt downs

every so often......but that is to be

expected....but I know those who were

with her daily are having a much worse

time  for sure.  We want to reach out

via phone but what can we say really,

other than thinking of you and praying

for you. Just wish we could see them

and our comfort to them would

manifests itself iin hugs and tears,

cause there are no real words that

help when it is all so fresh.

#3

Thankful for a sweet card from

a real time/blogger friend letting

me know she is going to be a

Grandmother this year. Pattie used

to attend our church years ago, and

we reconnected through blogging

somehow. The timing of her card

was just perfect, so think it was

divinely inspired, for sure.

#4

Thankful our Daughter made it

back home safe and sound on

Saturday, and for what a great

time we had and that she had

with her brother and niece..

#5

Thankful that I found just the

perfect amount of Beautiful

paper plates to set a nice table

for my Sister-in-laws Birthday.

Since our focus had been on our

Daughter's visit and it was such

a busy week...., when I realized

 her Birthday was this Sunday,

not the next. So finding those in

my stash made it so much easier,

because by Saturday we were

pretty worn out.

#6

Thankful that we had a nice evening

 celebrating Susan's Birthday. We

had her favorite Beef Stroganoff

and Key Lime Pie.

#7

Thankful for our nice clean porch

and being able to enjoy it so much

with the March winds a blowing!

#8

Thankful we got to work in our

backyard again.  We took off some

limbs and cut down some small trees

that were dead and broken in the

 woods. Love watching the improvement

every time we work out there.

#9

Thankful for 6 new cards we put

in our shop this week.

#10

Thankful we got to work outside again

today, the weather was lovely and cool,

which makes it so delightful for us here

in Florida.  We have to really enjoy this

great Spring like weather as the Hot

weather approaches all to quickly.

#11

Thankful for my Daughters help....

since hubbies birthday is approaching

this weekend and it is very hard for

me to surprise him even if I order

online, he see's it.....so she has been

ordering things for me, so hopefully

 he will be surprised.

#12

Thankful for my Beautiful and Sweet

spirited Granddaughter(AKA lil darling)

who is turning 8 yrs. old yesterday.

Oh my goodness,  I can hardly believe

it, she has just matured so much in

the past months, I think due to lots

 of changes in her life.

With posterized affect

Well, that's it forCozy Place this week.

  1. I love that you're able to find so many things to be thankful for even in the midst of grief, Nellie. I'm so sorry to hear of your dear friend's passing. I know it must be difficult trying to navigate it all during this time. I'm thankful you were able to let her know how much you loved and cared for her. It's such a sweet gift. Lifting you and your family up in prayer. May her memory be a blessing. She sounds like such a treasure. Hugs, CoCo

  2. Hi Coco,
Thank your so much for your sweet comments and for your prayers....she truly was a treasure,
one of my biggest encouragers and cheerleaders, and just so much fun to be with.....she lived in Tenn. so we didn't get to see each other that much, but it was always a blessed time when we did get to talk or be together. In our earlier years she lived in Florida too, and that's how we met...we worked together for several years and just continued the friendship afterwards. Yes, it was such a sweet gift that her husband thought to give to us, and we are so appreciative of that, and her memory is definitely a blessings.
Thanks for your kind words they were a blessing as well.
    Have a lovely weekend,
    blessings, Nellie
