Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you alive and well.  We have had 

a very slow quiet week this week.  We had rain 4

different times today.  Hubby keeps trying to get

out and mow our lawn but either it is wet from

rain or about to rain. Not fun mowing wet grass

as it stick to the mower and makes big clumps

in the yard which makes for more work.  Ugh!

But it will get done......eventually.  Actually it is

not as high as it would typically be which is

good news.  lol

thanks to Pixabay.  I love whimsical things,

and saw these and just couldn't not use them

cause somebody put a lot of work into doing

them.  So hope you enjoy them as much as

I do...........

Thankful to be feeling so inspired today.  Think we really

 needed that visit from our Daughter, as she always

 inspires me....  and always good to have some changes

 in routine as well.

Thankful I am starting to feel Fallish, even tho it is still

 in the high 90's. We are having early signs of Fall.........the

 grapevine is changing to fall colors already, and our

 Beauty Berry is turning purple too.  None of that

 usually happens until September or later. So I am

 wanting to break out my Fall decor and get busy.

Thankful for blogs like the "Crowned Goat",

I just so relate to so many things she writes,

and it just speaks to me.....also love that she

leaves you a list of things to check out if

you want.....that are typically fun and helpful

to us.  Just read one that gave a list of 100

things you could do to improve your life.

Our life is good and I already practice many

of them, but I am always up for something

 that is good and meets with my value system.

Thankful that our girl is having a great time

with her friend who just adopted a baby.

It's her first time to see the baby, and she

sent some pics he is adorable.

Thankful for a good day in the Lord's house,

and for a great service which ended with folks

giving testimonies of God's goodness.

Thankful to see a grown up girl, that we have

known since she was 4 or 5 yrs. old, and went

to our church till she married and moved

away to N. Georgia. We have always had a

great relationship with her, and she was

here visiting her in-laws and friends and

we got to see her and her lil girl.  We are

always delighted to see each other, She is

doing really well, as she had a long and hard

 bout of grief some years back when her wonderful

Mom passed away from cancer.  It is so good

to see her enjoying life again, and she is also

home schooling her adorable girl who is 

probably around 10 or 11 yrs. now. I know her

Mom would be so proud of her.

Thankful our Daughter made it home safely

 and uneventfully.

Thankful to read the good news that  Chick-fil-a

 is coming out with a new streaming service

with family friendly entertainment.  Not sure

when it will be starting tho. but so good to see

so many doing things to try to better our

families and country.

Thankful for another good school day with lil darling.

  She is so funny these days, she keeps us laughing.

She has always had a good sense of humor but as

she gets older, it is really coming out more.

She also had time to make a Fall card to put

in our shop.  Love it....

Thankful my Son and Daughter are feeling better.

They both came down with a virus or something

like what we had a few weeks back.  The first

few days you feel pretty bad, but then for about 

2 weeks after you just feel exhausted.  They are in

 the exhausted stage now, hoping it doesn't last as

 long for them, as it did for us. And we were

sooo happy when it finally left.....

Thankful that Dr. Phil did special interviews

with former Pres. Trump and JFK, and has offered

to do one with VP Harris, but hasn't heard back

from that yet.  They were good interviews.

Thankful that we know God has everything under

 control even when it doesn't look like it.  He is

the King of the Universe and nothing takes him

by surprise.

Thankful Thursday, August 22, 2024, and Pics that remind us of summer

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds yall settling back into your new

school routine if you have kiddles still in school.

or hopeful that Fall might just be around the

corner for you. Been a great week here in spite

 of a few inconveniences. Come on......I will tell you

about it in my Thankful post.

Pictures today are to remind us that Summer is coming 

to a close soon. Sooner for some of you than for us here

 in Florida. It will be a few months yet for us, but

I will be decorating for Fall soon anyway.....

We sort of have to fake ourselves out, inside at

least!!  lol

Now on with my Thankfuls...............

Thankful for a great first Day of homeschool with lil darling. She did a great job on everything and worked reallly hard. It was a stressful week for her too, as she started 6th grade and actually goes to school 2 days a week, so there were a lot of changes this year, as it is with

 most children entering 6th grade.

Thankful hubby is continuing to do well,  4 days down 3 to go for resting and no bending over. Caught him bending over a few times today........so hard to remember when you are feeling great!

Note:  It has been over his 7 days rest period, so he

is back to normal other than still putting some drops

in his eyes, and that he can't lift anything heavy for

another 3 weeks.

Thankful our Beauty Berries are starting to turn

purple.  I enjoy them so much every year cause

they are just the most beautiful shade of purple.

Thankful for getting to see 6 lil young Squirrels have 

a ball in our backyard, chasing each other, run and jumping like rabbits, and running up and down trees and through bushes.  So adorable,  and they came out of no where,

I was just wondering yesterday where have all our

 Squirrels gone, and thought it might be because it's too hot out, cause someone told me that about the birds, cause haven't seen many of them for a while either.

So it was an unexpected treat, as we love the

wild life here.......saw a black snake too! Yikes

Thankful to be able to be at church this week.

Loved the message by one of our younger

pastors about the Lord's blessings to us all.

Very Good.........and so true.

Thankful the Lord let us go to church, go to

lunch and then run to the store only to come

home and our car would not go into park,

only reverse, so we backed out of the garage

and then did the emergency break, and turned

the car off and it would not start again.

So we could have had this problem at anyone

 of those places in the blazing heat outside,

so we are so thankful if it had to happen, it

happened just as it did...........

Thankful we got our van safely towed to the dealership

 we use to be repaired, and thankful our emergency

car Insurance paid 3/4 of the charge. So that was

really nice.

Thankful our Daughter got in safe and sound

this afternoon from S. Carolina, and we have had 

a great time catching up.

Thankful anytime our Daughter gets to come visit us,

but it worked out that our Daughter just happened

 to be coming this week. (since our Van needed to

be repaired, so we didn't have to pay for a rental 

car, as hubby had a Dr. check up for his eye again,

 and we had to drive 20 miles to get the repaired Van. 

So we were able to use her car. Such a blessing!

Thankful to get our Van back from the shop, and

 thankful for God's provision, as it cost was way

more than we anticipated.

Thankful for the good time we have had with Dee, 

and that we all got to go shopping and out to dinner

to celebrate her birthday.  Always great to have her

 here even if it's for just a few days, but we all

sure hate to see her go...........lol

Thankful for a good school day with lil darling,

as I know it was hard to stay focused and get her

work done with her Aunt Dina here, cause she  

absolutely adores Aunt Dina, but she did get some

time with her, for a few hours before schooling

started which was good and a few breaks.

But was proud of her for being able to stay

on task.

Thankful Thursday August 15, 2024, and a birthday table from the past, for our Daughter

         Back to School Greetings

Sweet Friends,

Are you adjusting to your new routine ??  Hope so.

I always had a love/hate relationship with back to school

each year when my kids were growing up.  I loved having

them home all summer and having no routine and just having

a lot of fun and time to do whatever.  It was wonderful, and

I hated to see them go back to school,  yet at the same time,

I was ready and looking forward to getting back into a routine

and accomplishing some things and also seeing and hearing

about their new year and new accomplishments as well.

This year with lil darling we love that we get to see here

more since we are homeschooling her again on Mondays

and Fridays.  So I get the best of both worlds.  lol

Pictures today are of a birthday table for our girl from years past.

She is turning 40 in a few days,  so thought this would be a fun

post with  maybe some  fun ideas in case you need a girly table for

some reason.  I rarely get to do a birthday table for her anymore, 

 since she lives in SC and  most of the time we aren't with her 

on her birthday and if she does come it's usually just a quick visit

before or after her birthday,  so we go out,  so we can just spend 

our time together and usually we go somewhere to eat that she

loves, but that they don't have in S Carolina.

Thankful to get my toes painted today by none other

than lil darling...........lol

Thankful for our Daughter in a gazillion ways but this week 

We are thankful that she is in the medical profession.  We 

 went to hubbies heart Dr. this week, and we got a lot of

 good news, but he also said he wanted to do a cat scan.

 Anyway, our Daughter either has info or will find out info

 from Drs. she knows, that always make us feel more at ease 

with things.  Not that we were overly concerned, but

 thinking if there was a problem, it could mean another open 

heart surgery,  but she wrote and said that most of the time

 they do that procedure similiar to heart catherization.

So that was a huge relief,  just to know that!!

Thankful to see a video of our Vice Presidential  candidate

JD Vance, on u-tube talking about his faith. 

 It was very good and very encouraging.

Thankful once again that our church and other churches

do online streaming of their Sunday Services as we

are home again with colds........

Thankful for instacart.....we rarely use it but sometimes there are situations where it really comes in handy.

This is one of them....hubb6y having cataract surgery tomorrow and we are  recovering from a cold, so we are doing whatever we can to not   overdo. it.

Thankful that we were well enough to be able to keep the appt.

for hubbies cataract surgery, definitely an answer to prayer.

Thankful hubby is home, fed and napping after his cataract surgery.

It went well, 

Now just keeping him resting,  instilling eye drops around 

the clock and from bending over. lol

Note: He went for his post op appt. on Wed, and the

Dr. said all was well, and he couldn't even tell where

he had surgery.  That was from all the prayers from

so many church friends............

Thankful for so many who prayed for my hubbies surgery

 and recovery.  Such a Blessing!!

Thankful that our long time friends (the one who broke her

leg 3 times in the last years) have one of their Sons coming

to help them, as her hubby has to have his pacemaker changed

and she is really not in shape to take him for this procedure,

and their Son works in the heart field as well,  

So that is such a blessing to them as well.

Note; Our friends heart procedure went well too,

and he is home and resting.  PTL

Thankful that facebook is an easy and quick way to get

a prayer request out in a hurry.

Thankful for a picture I saw this morning of an old time built in

china hutch.  It brought back a flood of memories for me,  as

our very first apt. as a married couple had one that was built

into a corner, and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it

and that's what sold me on the apartment.  Loved that I could

display all my new wedding china in there as well.

Thankful that our Daughter and Son- in-love are having

a lil getaway for her upcoming birthday, near the beach

in North Carolina.
