Blissful White Wednesday - Playing with leftovers from son's birthday table.

Hello Sweet Friends,

I hope you have had a good week

 preparing for Thanksgiving, and 

that you are doing well.

I haven't had to do too much preparation other

than grocery shopping because we are having

brunch instead of dinner.  Made 2 quiche and

will make a fruit salad in the morning.  Other

easy stuff will be done in the morning too.

Have been trying to get to this all day,  got the

pics downloaded earlier, so have a few minutes

before bedtime,  so thought I would try to let 

you know I am feeling significantly better.

Turns out my sacroiliac was out of place which

brought on tendinitis, so that is why sitting

was so painful, still is if I sit too long.  I have

 been taking Ibuprofen again since last Friday 

for inflammation, so that has definitely helped.

So am ecstatically grateful about that!!

Definitely nice to not be in so much pain.

This was a centerpiece I did using some of the

elements I used for a birthday table for my

son a few weeks back.  Will show you the

table soon hopefully.

 Here is with the candles all lit.  Just in case you are 

wondering what the dark brown stuff is in the jars and 

candleholders,  it is coffee beans...........I did a latte

 theme for his birthday,  and you know how I like to 

play with the leftover elements afterwards.

So just left it this way until today when I did our

 Thanksgiving table.

 Done in palette knife affect.

This was my new pumpkin this year,  actually bought

it for the white living room,  but looked so nice on

my dining room table,  it never made it there!!  lol

Sorry I am late again,  am gonna have
to start calling this Thankful Friday
if this keeps up!!  lol

How has your week been going??

Well,  I hope.....

Mine has been going pretty well until yesterday.

Off the ibuprophen,  so back to square one with]

my back,  but..................

I am thankful

that I am feeling so much better today emotionally.  

Had a lot of crazy things happen, to do with this tooth

 that had the root canal,  the Dr. said something wierd 

in a written report he sent to my regular Dentist and to 

me., so was concerned about how that sounded, and 

what it meant and I thought the temporary filling was 

falling out, and because of the temp filling... my teeth 

are hitting wrong at times, and gives me a jolt when it

  happens, thankfully it doesn't last, but am concerned

 I might crack the tooth it is hitting on,  and then my back

 was really hurting again, and I was tired, and pretty much

 just felt like I am falling apart here, and it was just a 

cloudy icky rainy day on top of it all,  and it was just

 getting the best of me, so I came home kicked back

 in the recliner and had a long talk with the Lord about

 it,then took a nap and woke up feeling much better,

and after a good nights sleep, more prayer with hubby

 and talking with the Dr. this morning I am feeling

 way way better. 

Not looking for sympathy....just keeping it real

and to let you know that we all have struggles,

it's just what do we do with our struggles.........

I have a chiropractor appointment this afternoon.,

and hopeful that will take care of my physical

situation.

I am thankful

that my root canal is over and went well,  no pain

 at all,  and it is really a blessing that we have Drs.

. who can do things like that to save our toofers!!  lol

for all my Drs. that take good care of me,  they 

really are a blessing even tho, sometimes we don't

always see it that way.  lol

I am thankful

for running and clean water from our faucets.

This week there was a break in the line somewhere

so the water was off a while and was all rusty and

ukky looking afterwards, so a great reminder of the

blessing we have all the time that we can so easily

take for granted.

that we have this laptop I am typing on right now,

and that hubby was able to move it to the kitchen,

so I can be part of the blogosphere again!!  lol

and that I was able to do my TT post.

I am thankful

that we got our new lights put up this past week, 

 and  are really enjoying them, but also getting

used to them.  I am very wierd about getting new

things.................there is a side of me that likes 

them but another side that isn't sure, because 

it is such a change,  but then once I really get

used to it..............I really love it!

Am I the only one or are you like that too??

that we got some furniture moved from one

room to another,  swapped a couple of things

around,  something I have been wanting to do

for awhile now.

I am thankful

for  our kids who are willing and offer to give a

helping hand to their parents when need be, and 

also for my sister-in-law, and neighbors that are

willing to help at times. I am just not able to lift and

 move things like I used to.......well  I can, but it comes

 with a heavy price of pain,  that I have learned is just

too high and  I am no longer willing to pay!!  lol 

 and sometimes the help is just lending a hand on

 holidays so I don;t have to do it all...................

So these things are a all special blessings.

I have gotten quite a bit of Christmas shopping

done already.  Need to get out there and try to

finish up more before Thanksgiving.

I am thankful

that with all I have had going on, that Thanksgiving

will be a bit easier this year,  as the kids are all

 coming for brunch instead of dinner this year.   So

think hubby and maybe my SIL, will  just go out

to Cracker Barrel for dinner later.  That will be a

 first,  but we are really fine with that,  might even

 take in a movie if we can find a decent one to

 go to.....................and hey another first!  Some-

times you feel like all your firsts are behind 

you.................but no sirree..............every once

in awhile you get another one!!  lol

I am thankful

to hear that the White House has decided

to back Israel in there response to Hamas.

That was a wise move that was certainly

unexpected from this Administration.

I believe it could surely be the hand of the

 Lord directing the kings heart... as it says

  in Proverbs 21:1

We need to keep those prayers going

for our Governmental officials.

Well, that is my list .................

Table Top Tuesday - Fall Coffee table and Mantle

I hope your feeling fine,

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning

It's time to rise and shine!

Well, most of you have probably risen and are

 shining by now................but those are the words

from a song off of a christian children's album called

"Bullfrogs and  Butterflies" that I used to sing to my 

kids sometimes in the morning when I woke them up!! 

They just came to me I think cause I am feeling

sooo good this morning.  My back is still giving me

trouble but I had a root canal yesterday so they

have me on heavy doses of Ibuprophen for a few

days and I am feeling no pain and it is glorious!!

Hubby also put the lap top on the kitchen counter

for me.............per that great idea from another

blog friend.  Feel like I have been out of the

blogosphere foreverrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Have really missed you guys! and blogging just

 makes me an even happier camper.  Hopefully

I will be around to visit you soon,  since I can

do this standing up now.......am trying not to
sit much at all these next few days, to see if
my back issue will just clear up,  if it is caused
 from inflamation.  Have an appt. with the
chiropractor on Friday,  would have gone
sooner but what they do to clear up my
back issues usually get my neck going!!  lol
Have to say have been feeling my age these
last few weeks.................lol

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - November 8, 2012

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope yall have had a better week than I have.......
it has not been one of my better ones in some 
ways, but then in other ways it has been great!

First, I have been missing from the blogosphere
because I can't sit for too long, as my back is
acting up again, fortunately that is the only time 
it hurts, thank the Lord, yesterday was a week.
Then there was the election,  enough said,  then 
today I went to the dentist and found out I need
a lot of dental work... including a root canal!!
yikes!! But ...................

for dental insurance,  that is for sure!!

I am thankful

for our 42 Wedding Anniversary that we celebrated 

yesterday. We didn't celebrate exactly how we thought 

we would, but it turned out great, and left us both happy,

so that is all that matters really.

I am thankful

for what a wonderful husband and friend I have in my

 hubby. We have had so many wonderful times together,

 as well,  as weathering many storms of life,  but we

have done it all together. and 42 years later we still

like it like that!  lol

I am thankful

that our Pastor and another Pastor we heard on

Sunday morning prepared us for the election

results, even when they didn't know what was

gonna happen.  The Lord did.............

that we serve a God who goes before us and

knows how to prepare the hearts of His people

for whatever is to come.

that both  Pastor's shared scriptures from the

bible, that tell of God's sovereignty over our

world and our government.

I am thankful

that we have a God who is in control of this world,

even when it doesn't look like it.  Even when we

question,  he says in his word,  "That He works

all things together for the good of those who love

Him and are called according to His purposes"
Romans 8:28

I have experienced it and seen it in the lives of

others that love the Lord many many times,

so know it is so true and that brings me mucj
peace in these troubled times we live in.

I am thankful

that I am finally getting my teeth cleaned today.

Since we changed dentists it has taken about 

2 1/2 months to get in,  but once we are in the 

system, it want be a problem. 

Wrote the above this morning....... 
Got all that disturbing news but no cleaning,
have to go back on the 19th for that!!  lol
but did like the new dentist and her staff,
they are all very sweet.

that our whole family was able to get together

to celebrate Scott's 35th Birthday last Sunday.

We had such a good time..

that Megan continues to do well in carrying our

lil sweetheart to come.  She really looks great

and has not gained much  weight at all.  She

is all baby.................

and I am having the joy of buying some cute

lil things for baby..........such fun and JOY!

that at long last we have finally found a dining
room  light fixtures we both like,  and we got
it.......Happy Anniversary to us!!
Can't wait to get her up,  and hoping I like her
as much up as I do down.................lol

that we have gotten more done in the garage,
 2 more shelving units up, and have thrown a lot
 of stuff out, and it is looking better all the time.

and more space too........yeah for that!

longer.................

Greetings Sweet Friends,

How has your week been??  Course,
If you are in the storm affected area
I suspect it has been not been one of
your better weeks, I am sure, and I am
 so sorry for all you are going thru and
 praying for you, and that you have what 
you need.  If you aren't in the affected 
area, as we weren't I am thinking you
 are probably like us, very grateful....

I know a lil bit about that as we went
thru 3 hurricanes in a row about 7-8
years ago,  one every 2 weeks, and
the first one wrecked our yard, and
we had about 12 trees on our house,
most of them small but we did have
some very big pine trees as well, one
fell on top of our screened porch and
across our garage.None of them 
amazingly did any structural damage, 
no holes in our roof, which was a
 miracle in and of itself, but we did
 need a new roof on the house and
 porch, as they were beat up. What
 an ordeal to go thru, and to clean
 up, but as we worked to clean up
 the Lord did so many neat things
 to help us. We will never forget all 
of his provisions for us during 
that time!

Well, better get on with this 
post now....................

for a good report on my annual

Drs. physical.  He said my bloodwork

was about as perfect as it could get!

Can't help loving that report!!

we finally got rid of our old Van,  it
was sad to see her go... I have to say
but .....it was nice to get her out of our
driveway as it has been a bit of a nuisance
at times shuffling cars around.

that I finally heard from my cousins today
that live in Virginia,  and they are both fine.
Had not been able to reach them by phone
or email,  and finally got an email today.
So that was great news.

 that we will all get to celebrate Scott's

birthday with him this coming Sunday
 as that is his actual birthday.  
So looking forward to that and am thankful
I have finally and happily come up with a 
cute table idea.  For some reason I have just
 been drawing a blank until last night, saw 
something that sparked an idea..........and
it has grown from there.  Nothing like a 
lil inspiration...........

for a fun day at bible study,  lots of great
sharing today, and then I started my Christmas
 shopping.  I made a day of it ........then met
 hubby for dinner at 6p.m.  I just love Christmas
 and buying gifts for people!  Rings my chimes.

for the wonderful dinner we had at Olive
Garden. I love their Chicken Marsala but
  they prepared the wrong thing for me, so they
had to take it back,  but it was well worth the 
wait.  It is always good,  but for some reason it
 was way better than usual,  and a very full plate.

that our server was so sweet,  that she took
 my dinner off our bill completely because she felt
 so bad I had to wait so long, what a nice blessing,
So needless to say we left her a nice tip!!
and I am happy I don't have to concern myself
with what to have for lunch tomorrow.....
chicken Marsala it is..................yeah!!

the Imaging center called to offer me an appt.
 to get my bone density test done today,  so did
 that too,  so one more thing off the list!!  lol  
Now I have to go to the dentist next Thursday, 
 and make an appt. with a dermotologist.
Think that is why I put off going to the Dr.,
cause it isn't just one appt., by the time
you are done there is at least 3 more. lol

for all the coupons I have been getting
in the mail lately,  I used 3 of them today,
and saved $50.00, so what a nice blessing
that was..................

for the truth of God's word, and for the
encouragement it brings to my heart
during these trying times we live in.

Dee and Jerry are better now.  They had
a stomach virus the first part of the week,
 Dee got it first, then Jerry got it a  few days later, 
 and he had a worse case that she did...........but 
they are feeling mucho better!  Praise the Lord!

for a Christmas Cottage magazine I found at
Sam's,  it is a lil pricey,  but way better buying 
it at Sam's, and it is full of Christmas inspiration,
can hardly wait to dig into it!!  lol
Lots of  festive Christmas eye candy! It is not
full of ads either..........anymore, it seems like 
most of the magazines are, and you almost feel 
like they should pay you to buy the magazine!! lol

Well, That ends my list for now.......
