Valentine's Decorating in family/dining room

Happy Tuesday Sweet Friends,

So what cha been up??

Making any Valentine's Day plans?
Sure hope so..........

Have to say we love Valentine's Day or really any
excuse to celebrate, for that matter!!  lol

We usually get Italian take out, or I make Italian food,
have a nice dinner by candlelight with some sparkling
cider, give each other Valentines and watch one of our
 favorite movies.......   "You've Got Mail".
This has become our tradition because typically race
week or something at Daytona 500 is going on and
everything anywhere near there is mobbed, so we
aren't into mob scenes, so we prefer staying home......
Since it is on Saturday, we might just watch 2 movies,
one on Friday and one on Saturday as I have seen a
trailer for a movie called "christian mingle"
and it is a comedy and looks like it is gonna be
a riot,  so might try and see if we can find it to
rent on Amazon.....................

Hope you are looking forward to some Valentine's
plans as well.............. even if it isn't with your
sweetheart, a friend  or other family member
would do nicely too...............cause after all,
we love them too!!  lol

Thought I would share some more of my Valentines
decorating with you since it is gonna be here soon.

Here's our coffee table.  Now have to say I always use
shades of red in Winter, so that makes it easy to
decorate for Valentines day,  so used my red roses,
and a lil heart shaped dish,  it did have candy in it
, but we emptied it just before I took the pictures. lol
Since I used some pink along with the red on the
mantle decided to use my lovely Jesus and children
figurine that was a gift from a friend/neighbor many
years ago, and always love to use some royal blue
this time of year as well.

Here's a better look at the figurine.
Thought he was perfect for Valentines Day!

Cause as the song goes
"Jesus Loves the little children"

and of course, the big children too!!

Just added an older version of a life beautiful magazine
to pick up the red and rose theme.

Love how the collages look, but not all that
crazy about making them...... But pleased about it
afterwards........lol

The lil girl statue is in the dining room, and the vignette
is a small table beside the sofa, and the pillows are the
same on the sofa and big chair.  I put a Happy Valentines
banner on both red pillows.  Just stuck in on with double
stick tape.

This is my serving cart between the family and dining
room.  See there is a heart in there,  it is Alabaster
given to me by another friend along with the cardinal
birdhouse .

Added the key which I already had, and the pocket watch
I found in some of my late mother-in-laws jewelry.
Liked the touch of blue from the porcelain ball.

Same pic but with a filmgrain affect,  thought it gave it
a old look.......................

From the other direction.

The whole vignette.  Found this storage
box some years back and liked it be-
cause it had 2 different shades of red,
which works well for my colors this
time of year.

The picture in the frame is an actual photograph
of our mantle a few years back, that I put a
posterized affect on and printed, then put in
this frame. This was the best pic I could get
cause of all the reflections,  if I get a chance I
might try taking it with out the lights on and
see how it comes out................can you see
why I liked the blue porcelain ball there....
actually I had it there first, and then the pic
just wound up making it look planned.

The large pic is of the breakfast bar,  and the candle
is from the dining room. the rest are located in the
family room ................and the candy was just a
throw in from another Valentine's years back cause
I thought I only need 4 pics, so couldn't find a 5th
that looked right, so the candy fit the bill.....lol
well, sort of................lol

Well, hope you have a good
 rest of the week,

Thankful Thursday February 5, 2015, and could be Valentine's Table

From the rising of the sun
to the place where it sets,
 the name of the LORD
 is to be praised.
Psalm 113:3

Greetings Sweet Friends
and Welcome to
Thankful Thursday,

Hope you have had a good
week so far...

Decided to show you some pics from a tablescape
I did for my daughter some years back, that could
definitely be a perfect Valentines Table as well.
If you would like to see the whole post,
 Just click here

Hope you enjoy the pics......and my thankful
 list of course.

So, let's get started...........

I am thankful

#1
that we finally got to watch a movie I had seen
the trailer for and had heard a lot about and
it was great.  It was the
"100 ft. Journey".
 Lovely movie, highly recommend it.

#2
that the weather was so nice on Saturday that
we were able to clean our porch and patio
furniture, as it has been bugging me for awhile,
and now it looks so nice!  Yippee
Hoping for a day to sit out there soon..........lol

#3
that we could just be outside in the fresh air
and sunshine for awhile, it felt so good.

#4
for my hubby and all his computer expertise,
cause there is so much stuff I could never do with it.

#5
Rolo pretzel candies, we just love those lil buggers.....
and they are just so easy to make If you want
 the recipe,   just click here.

#6
That we had the opportunity to counsel
and hopefully encourage a very sweet
 couple on Monday Evening.

with paint daubs affect

#7
I finally found my kitchen phone. Discovered it
missing on Tuesday morning and I looked every
where and couldn't find it, then called myself on the
cell phone but it never rang. So I just shot up a quick
 Lord, where is my phone?
and not long afterwards I felt I should go check in
the garage by the washing machine, and lo and
behold it was laying right on top of the dryer.
I do not remember putting it there............lol

But was sure happy to find it!!

#8
for movies called Dolphin Tale #1 and #2.
We saw #1 about a  month ago and #2 on Wed.
night.  What great heart warming movies that
are taken from a true story.
Highly recommend them.

#9
for the blessing of being a Grammy.
I never really thought much about being a
Grandmother
or dreamed about it as some ladies do, nor did
I urge or badger my children to hurry up and have
children, cause mostly I wanted them to wait until
they really wanted children, so that they would be
as thrilled to have their children as we were to
have them......because I really love being a Mother,
give or take a few of those teen years, lol
but I have to say that being a
 Grammy is just the greatest.......
and I truly love and cherish this sweet blessing

#10

for Chicken Gnocchi soup from Olive Garden,
we got some take out on Tuesday and it was
super, along with a nice salad and bread that
I made.................
Think I am gonna have to see if I can find a
recipe for it now. It actually taste pretty similar
to my chicken and dumplings. Maybe I should
just make much smaller dumplings.  lol

with a paint daubs affect

#11

that the sun finally came out today after it being
gloomy since Monday and I was able to steal
about 15 mins. out there, and it was delicious,
like calgon take me away moments, with
the squirrels chirping and the birds
 tweeting, and the sun
shining on my face.

#12
that my son was able to give me some
help with shipping info for my business.
He had his own ebay business for years
so was a great resource for help.
He is a very smart cookie like
his Dad.

Well, there she is another week

 at cozy place...........

Super Easy, Rolo Pretzel Candies Recipe

Hiddy Ho Sweet Friends,

How are you this dreary day??
Course, maybe it isn't a dreary day
 where you live.......lol
but it sure is here in Central Florida,
looks like a Winter day, for sure
but it is 70+ degrees. Go Figure!

Watching lil darling today, and she
should be waking up from her
nappy soon.  We have had a fun
morning.

Have been making these candies
you see in the header pic lately, as
I usually make them at Christmas
time, cause everyone loves them,
and just never did for some reason,
(oh I remember, cause I got sick)
so already had the things I needed,
so have made several cookie sheets
of them, and thought I really need to
share this recipe with you guys gals
cause these would be great for
Valentines Day. Since we all love
chocolate.
We made them as favors a few
years ago for Dee's friends baby
shower and put them in cute lil
boxes. Anytime I take them any
where people always want to
know who made them and how.
Also a great recipe to make
with your children. I have already
tried it with Brooklyn, but all she
did was scarf down the pretzels,
so maybe next year!!  lol

Rolo Pretzel Candies

Ingredients

Rolo Candies, either wrapped
or the new unwrapped minis
(I have been using the unwrapped mini's
lately and it even makes it quicker to make
them, but have to say for full flavor the larger
ones are better,  if you are trying to watch
your weight the minis are better.  lol)

Synders Pretzel Twists
(I use the gluten free Synders pretzels now)

Pecan Halves
(I buy a large bag of Pecan Halves at Sams
club, cause we eat them all the time)

How to make them:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Use a nonstick cookie sheet
or normal cookie sheet  (with
parchment paper), then add
the amount of pretzel twists,
you desire (I do about 35 at
a time, cause you don't want
them right on top of each
other or they will stick
together)

Now plop a rolo candy on top
of each pretzel, (that would be
 35 rolos, for me)

Then put them in a 350 degree
oven for about 3 mins, then test
one to see if they are ready......
they should still be normal but
looking like they are starting to
sweat or maybe melt just a tad.
(I test them by taking a pecan or
walnut half and putting atop
the rolo and squish it down, if
it squishes easily they are ready
for you to top the rest of  them
with nuts. Just be very quick
about it............cause they cool
quickly,  so have your bowl of
nuts right by where you plan
to put the cookie sheet when
it comes out the often, and
comence squishing!!  lol)

Get your pecans or whatever
type of nut you choose to use
in place,  take the pretzels
out of the oven and
commence squishing.

Once you are done squishing
You are done..... just let them
cool a lil bit, then..........

Enjoy!!

These were all I had left as
they don't stay around for
long.........

P.S. The last time I made these I
tried putting some Twix minis atop
the pretzels and they were great too.
You can probably do just about any
of the mini's but some do have
hydrogenated oils, so we stay clear
of that............

Hope you like them, we sure do!

Free Valentines Printable

Picture compliments of http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/

Morning Sweet Friends,
Happy Tuesday....

So did you have a good weekend

and Monday??  Hope it was....
real good.

Ours was real good....Had some
Outback take out, watched a good
movie I had been wanting to see
for awhile, had a nice breakfast,
and long chat with hubby, cleaned
our porch, which sorely needed it,
worked on my card business some,
went to Sunday School and church
Then got our fav frozen yogurt.....
had a nice nap, Watched the Super
Bowl and the team we were rooting
for won,we only picked them cause
they are East Coasters as well,
missed Dee and Jerry cause the last
few years before they moved we
got together with them for Super
Bowl Sunday.  It was quiet but
fun, had some fun eats.....while
we watched. We are not what
you would call football fanatics,
hubby likes to watch it once in
awhile and I pretty much like
it for the food and fun........lol
Monday I worked some on my
 card business again,  trying to
make it a daily thing, finished
some tweaks in the redecorating,
had a long chat with a friend I
haven't spoken with for a while
and then with Dee, and then got
 to spend time counseling and
encouraging a sweet couple.
So has been a good last 4 days.

Really can't believe it is Feb.
3rd already.............I do love
this time of year tho.

Well, I made this poster you will
see below for myself when I was
redoing the house, so thought I
would try and share it with you.
This is my first attempt at this...
and hubby did it for me,  so it
should work....if you want to
copy it and for some reason
it doesn't work, leave me a
comment so I will know and
then check back late tonight,
cause hubby can probably fix
it if need be, when he
gets home.  lol

You can print it on shiny photo paper,
card stock, or water color paper.  I
did mine on the shiny photo paper.

I simply double stick taped it to
our wall and then put an empty
frame around it.  Guess I should
have taken a picture of it,  but
oh well.............lol

Hope you like it and enjoy it.
