Thankful Thursday April 10, 2025, and Family room qussied up for Spring/Easter

See! The winter is past,  the rains are over and gone.

OOPS...Just posted this and realized 

I forgot to do my opening greeting!! 

So in case you were wondering what  

happened to that post,,,,

So had to pull her back in.....lol

So how are you today??

I hope you have been having a truly

blessed week.  Ours has been good,

doing some work in our shop this

week, since Easter is coming up soon,

 and also starting to think about what to 

make for Easter din din and what to do

 for our Easter table. Had thought about

doing a Ham, but have changed my 

mind and am going to do my Party

Chicken recipe, which is always a hit.

is all about Jesus.

So on with my Thankfuls....

Thankful for a great deal hubby got

on a new coffee pot.  It would have

been $40 at Amazon and he got it

for $20. at Wally World and it was

delivered the next day, which was

really nice since ours was broken.

Who doesn't love a great deal.

Thankful that I finished all my Spring

Easter decorating and pack everything

away, and it is such a refreshing change.

Thankful for a good day with lil darling,

Not a lot of work as she will be on Spring

break next week.  She had time to make

an Easter card for our shop. 

 She did a great job!!

Thankful we found a new season of a

fairly new series we weren't sure if it

was going to continue or not.  So we

found Season 2 of "When hope calls"

and it's on "Pureflix".  If you have ever

watched "When calls the Heart" then

you will love it.  Hoping another season

of that comes out too.

Thankful for a really great evening

with our Son and lil darling celebrating

my birthday a lil late,  dinner, talking

and playing games, my favorite kind

of day. Guess my birthday is officially

 over for this year!!  So it went out

with a bang,  My Mom heart is full....

Thankful for peanut butter pie my hubby

got for us from Perkins.  It was delicious,

and enjoyed by all of us.

#7, 8 and 9

Thankful to be able to attend church today,

and also thankful to finally hear who is gonna

be our Pastor now that our other one has

retired.  We were very Thankful for the

news.......turns out it is gonna be both of

our younger Pastors, (when I say younger

I mean they are in their 40's, so that is

young to us.  lol)  The church has decided

to let them Co-Pastor our church, they are

both men who are very committed to our

Lord and are very Good friends, and have

worked well together in other situations.

So hubby and I are beyond thrilled cause

one of them and his wife we have watched

grow up in our church, and the other

one has Pastored in our church for quite

some time, but moved away to Pastor a

church in Tenn. for about 6-7 years,

all the while some of us were praying 

for the Lord to send him and his family

back, which HE did, and his wife also

grew up in our church for a lot of years,

so we also knew her as well.

To say we are excited about the Lords

direction would be an understatement.

Isn't she cute!

Thankful that we saw and were able to

get a snake out of our garage very quickly.

We opened our side door to take out 

some trash and I was standing outside

and hubby thankfully inside, and the

door was still open, and I saw the 

snake go right in the edge of the door

and screamed, of course, (I take that

scripture in the bible about the woman

having enmity with the serpent very

seriously. lol) Anyway, hubby was able

to get the broom and run him right

back out........my Hero!!

Thankful for Post "Great Grains" cereal.

We enjoy the Cranberry and the blueberry

cereal the most, and I am

Thankful for Better Homes and Gardens

magazine and this months cover especially.

I woke up hungry at 6 a.m., and knew

I wasn't gonna get back to sleep unless

I ate something, so I got up and had

a bowl of great grains, an when this

happens which is not very often, I like

to look at a magazine while I am eating

cereal, which is typically Better Homes

and Gardens which I really enjoy and

this months cover is just so stunning

it makes my heart happy every time

I see it.  See  pic below. Those flowers

are from Crabapple trees.  Gorgeous!

cause of the shadows and shinyness,

but I tried............lol

Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and happy

and enjoying some sunshine.  We

are in full swing for Spring here,

already 90 degrees today, I am concerned

we are in for a very hot  Summer!

Am sure hoping I am wrong as can be!!  lol

Thankful that I finally got all of our Winter Decorations down and packed away, 

 so now, I can start on Spring Decor.

Thankful for a good school day on Friday with

lil darling. She has school dance to go to on Sat.,

 so can't wait to see pictures and how she liked it.

This is a first!!

Thankful for take out from Chili's on my birthday,

  Since we just got back a few days before, we were still tired after unpacking our suit cases and

 stuff and then packing up all the Winter decor,

 so take out was perfect and quite delicious as we haven't gotten anything from there in a 

long time.

Thankful we can watch our church online,

when we were away, but also this Sunday

cause I feel like I am trying to come down

with something. I was freezing this morn

and sneezing and coughing my head off,

and having a gripy tummy, so we decided

we best stay home.

Thankful lil darling enjoyed her dance.

Actually it was a dinner and a dance.

She looked stunning and had a good time

Thankful for another good school day

and that she had a lil extra time so 

she got to do our Easter tree, and a

lil bit of the Easter decorating.

We always enjoy that time....

Thankful that I am getting started 

on the Spring decorating as well.

Note: just about finished,  just got

to pack up the leftovers.

Thankful for the Presidential Prayer chain

and I hope all Americans will realize how

blessed we are and keep on the prayers for

Our Country and current Administration.

Thankful I am almost done decorating

for Spring/Easter.  Always love doing

it, but then always glad when it is

finished as well.

Thankful for my dear hubby as he is

so understanding about trying to cook

while I am trying to get the house

together again.  So he is good with

take out or subs.

Thankful that our Daughter and hubby

got to their Lake House safely,  They had

to take some things up there and do a

few things, but then get to enjoy it

as well.  Such a blessing.

Thankful for dental picks that keep 

my teeth and gums healthy.  They are

so much quicker and easier to use

than dental floss, plus I haven't liked

the new wide dental floss they have

now, which prompted the change.

Thankful Thursday March 27, 2025, and pictures of Charleston SC

Spring Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you are totally able to enjoy Spring where

 ever you live. We sure have been.....

We just got back from SC last night, and we had

sort of cool Spring weather, which was delightful,

probably the last of the cool weather we will see

here in Florida, as it is 82 here today.

On with my Thankfuls...................

Thankful for a safe and uneventful trip to

 Charleston, SC  and back, to see our Daughter,

 Son-in-love and furry Grandson dog, Bentley.

So happy to be here........

Thankful for another sunny beautiful day 

and sitting outside while catching up and

resting up from our trip up.  The day we

went there it was a sunny and beautiful

azure blue sky with no clouds anywhere,

all the way from Florida to South Carolina.

We couldn't believe it....cause it was right

after all those storms.

Thankful for a really yummy dinner at a place called

"Page's "Okra Grill" in Mount Pleasant, SC

My meal was  grilled Maui, fried Okra,

 mac n' cheese and hushpuppies. and we split a piece of 

Peanut butter pie.  Every bite was totally delicious. 

 We want to go again before we go home.

Note: We did go again for my birthday dinner

and we got take out for Sunday Brunch, 

 All wonderful!  Could not say enough about

this restaurant.  Service was excellent as well,

and they had this big adirondack chair which

reminded us to take a few pictures.  If we

look a lil rough it's cause we were tired and

hungry after traveling all day.  lol

Dee and Hubby Jerry - there were 2 pics

and unfortunately he had his eyes closed 

in both, and we got called to our table,

 so that was that.  He's cute anyway.

Me and Dee - We wanted to get in the

chair but I was afraid I might not be

able to get out!!  lol

Thankful for brownie Sundae's made with

 a clean brownie mix called "Simple Mills" 

Almond flour baking mix.  We are all trying

 to eat with more wholesome ingredients,

 and every time we find something new

we all get excited.  lol

Oh, and the brownies were delicious with

 vanilla frozen yogurt.

Thankful for a new HGTV "Home Town show" 

with Ben and Erin Napier, where they are

working to restore a city here in Florida that

has sort of died because they built a major 

highway around it, which just caused the

downtown area to die.  It is in "Sebring

Florida".  Really enjoying the series so far.

Course, we love anything Ben and Erin do!!

Thankful for our Daughters ham and scallion

 quiche and strawberry and cream cheese

 coffee cake.  Our favorites that she makes us

 every time we come.

Thankful for yogurt bowls my Daughter has

 been making us. They are delicious and a great 

healthy breakfast.  Think they will become a

staple at our house now too.

Thankful that we are getting to celebrate our

 birthdays with our Daughter and hubby.

  Hubbies has passed and mine is coming next

 week, but I will be home by then.

Thankful for a fun day out shopping.  We went

 to a clothing store we had never been to,

called "Versona".  I have never even heard of it, 

 but it was such a fun store. Lots of brightly

 colored clothing, and the cutest hats, (like those

 Princess Kate and the English people wear, some

were a lil bigger)  but they were adorable,  Dee 

thought they might be for the Ky. derby, because

 a lot of people in Charleston have Derby parties.

They could be for Easter too!

They also had shoes and jewelry.  There prices

 were pretty reasonable too, so I got a pretty

 solid lime green colored linen blouse for my

birthday which should be great for spring

 and summer. The store was just a visual

 delight, and once I was home I was sorry 

I didn't think to take a few picture to show

 yall, especially of those hats.............lol

# 10 and 11

Thankful for long talks, sitting outside in the sun

(my legs are more tanned now)  and the shade,

when the sun got too hot, game playing, cooking

 (for us girls)  Watching HGTV's  "Home Town" 

as they fix up Seabring, Florida, and dry bar 

comedy (that made my sides hurt, we were 

laughing so hard) and March Madness

 (for the guys) and riding around in a beautiful

neighborhood, that is just so southern looking,

and  just the sheer fun and delight of being

 together.

Just so thankful we got to go visit them for a week. 

 It was the perfect birthday gift for me, as I will be

 Turning 73 in a few more days. So thankful we

can still do that.  The whole week was just lovely

and couldn't have been any better.....We had the

best weather, most all were sunny and clear blue

skies, with temps 70 degrees are less, 

The Lord just really blessed our week together!

and as much as we love going there (our home

away from home) we love coming home too!!

Always nice to sleep in your own bed....even

tho the other bed is comfy too!!
