Scripture Sunday

There are six things the LORD hates,

seven that are detestable to him:

 haughty eyes, a lying tongue,

hands that shed innocent blood,

a heart that devises wicked schemes,

feet that are quick to rush into evil,

a false witness who pours out lies

and a person who stirs up conflict

in the community.

Psalm 6:16-19 NIV

Have a Very Blessed Day,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday October 19, 2017, scesnes from Fall's Past #4

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
 and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and
 praise his name.
Psalm 100:4  NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you had a good day today!

Been a beautiful day here, very
sunny so got outside for a few
minutes to get some Vit D... but
did get some rain later.  Also
Worked in the yard some this
 morning, pulling weeds and
trimming my rose bush back,
thought it had died, but after
trimming it back think it may
just survive after all.  Have no
idea what happened to it, so
fertilized it good and hoping for
the best. Spent most of the rest
of the day talking with my sweet
daughter on the phone. Been awhile
since we had a marathon phone call,
so it was a nice way to spend the
day, as I can use my head set and
do some work at the same time.

Pictures today are again scenes
from Fall's past.  Now I will
get on with my Thankfuls....

#1
for some fun games of Catch
Phrase with hubby. At our age
sometimes we have to describe
a word in order to get the word,
we want to describe the word
that is one the card, so it can
get pretty funny!  lol

#2
that we finally took a big limb
off one of our trees that was full
of grapevine, and I was concerned
it was gonna kill our tree if we
didn't get that limb off.....so it
is gone and so is the grapevine.
Yea...........

#3
for a fun lunch out with some
church friends.  The food was
pretty good, the service was
great and the company
was delightful.

#4

for servers in restaurants that
do such a great job, when they
wait on us. Cause when you get
some that aren't so good or that
have an attitude it can definitely
impact your time out in a not
so good way and the reverse
is also true....when you get a
warm and friendly server it
makes your time there very
pleasant.

#5
that it looks like my daughter
and hubby will be here for
Christmas this year.
Makes this Mom a hap hap
happy Girl..........

#6

for the delight in seeing a
long time friend and her son
on Sunday.  I see her fairly
often, but have not seen her
son in years, and I have known
him since he was about 8 yrs.
old.  He was a great kid and
now he is a great adult, he is
now married with 2 children
and has his own business, that
he started back when he was
a teenager, never seen a more
hardworking kid with such an
entreprenurial spirit.

#7
for a precious story from light-
workers about a young boy who
has a disability and his new best
 friend......very sweet!
and worth the watch..............

Click here to watch it  or type it

in for yourself
https://www.lightworkers.com/original-series/the-golden-rule/

#8

for seeing some other longtime
friends that used to go to our
church years ago, while we were
out having dinner on Wed. It has
been years since we have seen
them and their son too, and his
girlfriend, she used to go to our
church as well, she was a child
the last time we saw her. We all
said lets get together soon, and
we would really love that. Our
daughter is best friends with their
daughter so we hear about each
other all the time as our girls talk
 on the phone quite frequently.

#9
that our Discover card fraud
prevention group discovered
what they thought might have
been fraudulent activity on our
card and cancelled our card and
 is sending us new ones.........
Thank the Lord for his watch-
care over us.

#10

for 2 really good movies we
saw this week.  They are Hall-
mark hall of fame movies.
One was called "Dear Viola"
and the other one "At Home
in Mitford".  They were both
really lovely movies and we
got them from the Feeln
chanel, which is now the
Hallmark chanel.

#11
for all of you, Sweet Friends,
that come by;  some on a daily
basis, some weekly, some every
once in awhile, those who leave
comments and those who don't.
It is always humbling to know
that someone is interested in
 what you have to say!!

#12
for God's word that keeps us
on track even when things
don't seem to make sense.

and that's all folks................

Glad you could stop by today.....
Always happy to know you
came by.............

Have a Great Weekend,
and Keep your light
shining brightly!

Hugs and Blessings,
Nellie

P.S. Sorry for the wonky
print,  tried to fix it but
it just wouldn't fix!!  lol

Broccoli Tots Recipe

Happy Tuesday Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and happy!

Remember last week I told you I found
a new recipe and it was called Broccoli
Tots, and if it was good I would share
it with you.  Well, I was quite happy
with it, as they are a good snack or
a good side for din din as well.

I have been using ours as a snack.
I put them in a container and put
them in the fridge, so I can just grab
one easily when the Hangries get
the better of me. lol

I like them room temp. best and
hubby likes them warm, so if that
is your story you can just pop
them in the microwave for a
few seconds.

I found the recipe at "the two
bites club blog, and she has some
other pretty good looking recipes
as well.......it was my first time
to visit there..........

or type it in or copy and paste it for yourself.
http://www.thetwobiteclub.com/2015/01/bro
ccoli-tots.html

Just for your Information:

I used frozen chopped broccoli and did
not cook it first, I just put it in a colander
and rinsed it with hot water, and let it
drain, and made sure it was as dry as
possible, then just mixed it with the
other ingredients, and I also used panko
bread crumbs eggbeaters and colby
and monterey jack cheese, as I just
used what I had on hand.

I also used this:

After it was all mixed up this cookie
scoop was perfect for putting it on a
cookie sheet.  Once I scooped it up,
I did sort of smash the mix down into
the round scoop, and that helped
 them to stay together better!

Anyway, hope you try them out,
don't think you will be disappointed
and they are pretty quick to make.

Enjoy!!
Have a Blessed Day!!

Nellie

Scripture Sunday - Seeking

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else,
and he will give you everything you need.
Luke 12:31
New Living translation

There are a number of ways this is written in
different versions of the bible, but I thought
this was the clearest as to the truth of what
it really means.  Notice it doesn't say every-
thing you want, it says everything you need,
and the Lord knows our every need....
and many times he gives us our wants
 as well...........

Have a Blessed Sunday,

Thankful Thursday October 12, 2017, scenes of Falls's Past #3

Now, our God, we give you thanks,
    and praise your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:13 NIV

Hello there and
 Happy Thankful Thursday
 to you!

Hope you are having a week full
of things to be thankful about.

Honestly, I write this post to
remind myself of all the things
I have to be thankful for, and it
changes the way I look at my
world..............
Then hopefully all of you that
read it will be reminded (if you
need to be) to look for those
things in your life that make your
 heart grateful, because many times
if we don't make a conscious effort
to look for them, they will literally
go right over our heads, sometimes
it is just a small unexpected thing,
 and sometimes it is something
expected and big, but I would be
willing to bet, if I was a betting
woman that mostly it is the small
simple things that bless our heart
the most.......and I think.....
 a grateful heart = a happy heart,
so want to spread that around as
much as possible in these crazy
days in which we live.

Pics today are of Falls Past
again..........hope you enjoy
them..........so on with it....

I am thankful

#1
for a new website birthed by Roma
Downey.  She got so tired of all the
bad news and she was awake thinking
about it during the night and woke
up and told her husband we need to
make a good news website, so they did.
They have all sorts of cool good news
or just funny/positive things on there.

Here is one about the Las Vegas
shooting....how people are battling
hatred by giving back.

Click here  to see the video or
type it in yourself
https://www.lightworkers.com/episode/las-vegas-residents-battle-hate-giving-back/

What a wonderful and well needed
idea this was.....Thanks Roma!

#2
for a sweet sleepover with lil
darling on Saturday night.
It has been quite awhile since
we have done one, and it was
pure joy.............

#3 and 4
once again for the Presidential
prayer team and for this wonderful
testimony of God's love and grace
from Steve Scaliese, that I saw in
their email on Sunday Morning.
  Very Encouraging!

Please Read Below.....it is a very
good read............

Louisiana Congressman
 Steve Scaliese,
who was shot at a baseball practice
in mid-June, returned to Capitol Hill
last week, praising God profusely for
 the many miracles and answered
 prayers since that day.
After walking in to sustained cheers
 and applause from House members,
Scaliese gave a speech from the floor.
“As you can imagine, these last
three-and-a-half months have been
pretty challenging times for me and
my family,” he said. And the outpouring
of love, of warmth, of prayer, sustained
him, he added. “And it starts with God,”
 he said to much applause.
“When I was laying out on that ball field,
the first thing I did once I was down and
couldn’t move anymore, is I just started
to pray. And I will tell you it gave me an
unbelievable sense of calm knowing that
at that point it was in God’s hands.”
He said he prayed for very specific
things and “pretty much every one of
 those prayers were answered.”

Great Testimony!!  Don't we so
need to hear more of those stories
of God's moving in people's lives.

#5
that Hurricane Nate did not do
any really devastating damage,
and that those we know in those
areas are all fine.

#6
to hear that Joel Osteen's church in
Texas has opened it's door to letting a
Jewish synagogue congregation whose
church was flooded and unusable have
their services there at Lakewood
.  Very cool!

#7
that we finally got our porch all
cleaned up and have started to
put things back in place.

#8
for  beautiful sunny days this week
We have had a lot of rain and a lot
of overcast days lately....so it is
a joy to see the sun, even tho it is
coming and going at times.  Lots
of  cotton ball clouds out there.

#9
for another good news story from
Fox News, it is about a lil girl
finding out she is getting adopted.

Watch it for yourself it is so heart-
warming and you will probably
need your kleenex,  I did..........

Click here or type it in yourself
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/11/11-year-old-girls-reaction-after-learning-shes-been-adopted-is-priceless.html

#10
that Kirk Cameron and friends are
having another rally in theatres again
this year all across the U.S.  We went
last year and it was so encouraging!
So if you have a chance to go, don't
miss it.............
Check it out here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0ZS5wCqUOg

#11
for a new recipe I happened on,
it is for broccoli bites, they would
go well with dinner or just for a
snack I would think.  Got the
broccoli to make them,  if they
turn out well,  I will share it with
yall..........

#12
that I got all my porch chairs
cleaned and they are back on
the porch with cushions and all.
Only have a few more finishing
touches and it will be back to
 normal but only cleaner.......lol
yippee!

Just had to throw this in
since I came across it....
lil darling when she was
just almost 8 mo. old.
So sweet........and so
hard to believe she is
over 41/2  yrs. old now.

Well, that's our week at
Cozy Place..............

Glad you could stop in......

Have a lovely rest of the week,

Love, Hugs,
and Pumpkin Blessings,

Nellie

Fun things to use for Fall Decorating #3

Happy Tuesday
 Sweet Friends,

Hope your week is going well.

Mine is.......
I am delighted that we finally got
our porch cleaned up (it was in need
of that before Hurricane Irma made
her visit) so figured while everything
was in the garage we should get that
done then put everything back.  So
waiting for it to finish drying, so we
can start putting it back together.
Still have chairs to clean, but at
least we are moving in the right
direction....and it will be nice to
be able to get around in the garage
 freely once again........lol

Today is part 3 of Fun things to
use for Fall Decorating, and I
am using pics from my living
room still.............

If you missed part 2 you can

So lets get started

Item #13

Use Dark colored metals
to add drama and warmth to the
 room. Decorating for any season
is sort of like how you dress your-
self for those season, we tend to
wear darker colors in the Fall and
Winter so we also dress our home
in darker colors, or colors of the
 season typically.

Or copper colored metals, they are
perfect for Fall...........like this
cute lil chair full of tiny pumpkins.

and copper metal looking
candle holders work too.

sometimes there is just a touch of
dark metal.......

Like on these pumpkins.........

and some things are all dark metal,
like these finials....

Items #14
using florals, fruit and berries
or picks with those items.

These make for easy peasy quick accents.

You can just add them to a shelf
or vignette

Apples............

mini Pumpkins picks..............

Berries.................

or add them to a vase, basket, dish,
cream pitcher or regular pitcher,
 like I did here below.
Perfect way to add color and
 texture and beauty.

Real or Faux will look lovely.

or you can just lay a spray of flowers
or berries against something as you
see below.............

or throw a fall floral arrangement
together. Most of the time if the
arrangement is not going to be
moved I simply stick the flowers
in without even using floral foam
or anything, just play with it till
it looks attractive to you.

or just add one single stem ......

Item #15

Two of my all time favorites are using
game letters and sprinkles.  You can
see both in the pic below. Those are
tiny lil pumpkin sprinkles on top of
the game letters. If you click on the
pic you will be able to see it much
better.

These are 3 dimensional sprinkles
that add a lil more fall color.

and here are flat leaf sprinkles that
add a lil extra interest to the
empty spaces on the tray.

Item #16
Gift Bag Stuffing and Pumpkins
Of course......

I like to use the gift bag stuffing
to add texture and for more of a
natural feel and to highlight that
white mini pumpkin and leaf.

It also works well for making
bird nests.......or just helping
to bump something up to give
it a little height or just so it
doesn't look so lonely or stark
on the plate or surface.

and Remember.....do use
Pumpkins..........

Anywhere from tiny and
resin..............

to Mini and ceramic......

to Large and fabric......

I love pumpkins in all
shapes, sizes and textures,
and bet you do too.

Well, hope you have enjoyed
your visit and hopefully maybe
picked up a tip or two.

Have a Great Week.

Love, Hugs and
October Blessings,
Nellie
