Sunday - Quotes to Ponder #13 - Love

Good Sunday Morning
to You, Sweet Friends,

Hope you have a really Wonderful
Day!

Here is our quote to ponder for today.

Do not waste time bothering if
 you "Love" your neighbor,
 act as if you do.

by C S. Lewis

I used to work for a wonderful

Christian lady named Mary Crowley
who owned a work from Home-
Party plan business called
"Home Interiors and Gifts."
Although, I never met this dear lady
in person, I learned a lot from listening
to her tapes and from what others who
had met her had to say.

One such taped lesson flew to

mind when I saw this quote......
It was really about marriage but
I think It can really fit with just
about any relationship really.

She was talking about what to

do when you weren't feeling
 particularly loving towards your
spouse.  She suggested that you
think of all the things you do for
your spouse when you do feel
loving towards them, like maybe
 making their fav dinner/dessert,
or give them a back rub, write
 them a complimentary note, give
a hug, or an offer of help, etc.
 You get the idea.......
then  you do these things, as if
you did feel loving towards them.

To be honest, when I heard that

I was thinking isn't that a bit
hypocritical or phony......but I
am just dumb enough to try
 things, especially when It comes
from a good source.  So guess
 what I found out??
I found out...that as I did those
loving acts I began to have lov-
ing  feelings toward my spouse
or  whoever once again. This is
really what you call living by
faith and not your feelings.
God tells us to love others....
and if we are obedient to his
call.......then sometimes we
might have to fake it till we
make it..........but I believe
the Lord honors our faith in
doing what He tells us to do,
and that is why our feelings
begin to line up with what
we did as an act of obedience
to Him. We can all have fickle
feelings depending on our
circumstances, hormones or
when we might not be feeling
great physically and the like...
so this is a great way to take
care of those fickle feelings.....

Happy Pondering!!

Love, Hugs and

Special Sunday Blessings,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday Feb. 23, 2017, Lovely Camelias

The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever.”
Isaiah 40:8 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well

and happy.

We just got home Tuesday
evening from a trip to our
daughter and son-in-loves,
which you will read about
in this post.......
It is always wonderful to see
those you love and to take a
break from the normal every
day routine of life.....

Hope you enjoy all the
beautiful camelia's as much
as we did.......
It was funny.... this Camelia
tree/bush had these buds since
 last September when they
moved in and we saw them
when we were there in mid
Oct. and none of us thought
 they would ever open, but
much to our surprise they were
opening every day while we
were there, and there are still
more buds yet to open.
So what a great crop.......lol

Well...... on with it.....

I Am Thankful

#1
for a safe and uneventful trip
 to Charleston and back, and
that my hubby likes to drive,
and does all the driving,
which is nice for me!!  lol

#2
that our son got back safely
from the Netherlands last Friday
and had a much better trip home
than when he was going there.

#3
for great, really perfect weather the
whole time we were in Charleston.
We spent a lot of time sitting outside
in their backyard since the weather
was so lovely, as being outside is
so enjoyable to all of us.

#4
for a really great time with our
daughter Dee and her hubby Jerry.
We had breakfast and/or lunch in,
but only cooked dinner one night,
we got take out and went out to
dinner so a nice cooking vacation
 for us girls.

#5
for fun rides on their newly acquired
golf cart.  Most of the people in their
area ride around in golf carts, and it
is so much fun.....cause you get to
really enjoy seeing all these pretty
houses, but at a much slower pace
than if you are in are in your car.
Great view............and just fun to
have the wind blowing in your
 face and hair.  lol
Hubby said, hmm, maybe when
I retire if we wind up selling my
car we might want to get a golf
cart.......it really would be a lot of
 fun....know our lil darling would
like it for sure and who knows
 maybe we could turn our
neighborhood into a golf cart
neighborhood.   lol

#6
that they know their way around
the area much better this time.
They are still making fun dis-
coveries all the time.  Dee and
I found a new neighborhood
within their neighborhood that
they had never seen before and
of course, they are finding more
restaurants and stores that they
like as well.

Here are some white camelias in her
neighborhood, they had tons of buds
but not that many were open yet.

#7
that Rosie, our first Fury grand-
daughter dog is back to normal.
Thank goodness .  She was sick
with some type of stomach and
intestinal issues and she got sick
right after having her toofers
cleaned so they didn't know if it
had anything to do with them
putting her to sleep or not, but
she is lil 7-8 pd. chijuajua, so
they can dehydrate very quickly
and she was feeling pretty bad
for a few days there.

#8
for a fun trip to their Home Goods
store, they had tons of really cute
stuff, it was like Happy land.  lol
and another cute new store I have
never heard of called "Palmetto
Moon".  Reminds me a lil of
 "Altared State"
that we used to go to in Asheville.
Accept they have lots of cute
T-shirts.... rather than adorably
cute clothes that are too young
for me!! lol
and they also have some cute
home things too, like Altared
State too. Also, we took a quick
trip to a Whole foods market,
which was way nicer than the
one we have been to in the
 Orlando area (actually it was
quite a disappointment to us),
course, I think we have a new
one closer to us, just haven't
gone there yet.....so now I have
the incentive after seeing the
one in Charleston.  Also, we
found another neat store that
had furniture but also lots of
other home decor things that
were very reasonable, always
fun finding new places

Pink ones  too, from the neighborhood.

#9
for the stunningly gorgeous
camelia tree in their backyard,
and all over the neighborhood
there, Dee and Jerry's are a deep
coral color, but there are white,
red, pale pink or peach and some
varigated ones that are red and
white. All so beautiful...
hence the pictures.

#10
for good conversations, playing
 cards and music, watching TV
and just time spent together.

#11
for a refreshing break from our
regular routine and a nice change
of scenery, which is always in-
spiring in a number of ways
when we come home.

#12
that we got to see lil darling,
Megan and Scott the next day
after we got home,  and got
lil time to hear about Scott's
trip to Holland.  He got to see
some hydroponic greenhouses
which seems to be the way
they do most of their growing
over there.

Well, This was our week at
Cozy Place......

Hope you loved the Camelia's,

we sure did.......
We are thinking about where we
might have a good spot for one.
Wanted to put one in years ago,
but they have to have a lot of
sun......and we were mostly
shade at that time,  but then
after hurricane Charlie hit
about 11-12 yrs. ago we have
lots of sun now cause it took
down all the pine trees in our
yard and our neighborhood.
So the time just might be right!!

Have a lovely weekend with
those you hold dear.

Love, Hugs and
last of February Blessings,
Nellie

Part 3 of Winter in the Livingroom

Hiddy Ho Sweet Friends,

How are you today??
Hope you had a great weekend.

We had a really good one, as we have
been in Charleston, SC visiting with our
daughter and Son-in-love since last Wed.
night, and having a really great time.
This is our 2nd visit here and they
are much more settled in than on our
first visit (which was right after they
moved in) and they have done so many
cute things with their new home. They
have a coastal/farmhouse theme going
on.....and I asked if I could post some
pics of their home on my blog so yall
could see and she said yes,  so that will
be coming up in the next week or so.

By the time you read this we will
be home.....but already had most of
it done before we ever left home.

Remember this picture???

This will show you where the next
few pics are located in the room.

This is the 3rd and final post
of our Winter Living room.

If you missed Part 2, just click here

With Omni affect

As you can see I had been playing
 with photoshop again....lol

All of the rest of these pics are directly
across the room from the ones above.

Table next to the chair

Tried to use photos that had a Winter
look and any snow scenes I have
came from pics of when my
daughter lived in Asheville.

This one was especially
meaningful as it is my daughter
making her very first Snow Angel
a few years back.

In case you can't tell the other
lil thing hanging with the cream
 pitchers is a sled ornament.

Polar coordinates affect, just for fun.....
I call it a modern art affect...........lol

Thankful Thursday Feb. 16, 2017, Our Valentines Table 2017

Devote yourselves to prayer,
being watchful and thankful.
Colossians 4:2

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you all had a Lovely
Valentine's Day!

We did..........
I didn't do any Valentines
decorating to the house this
year, as I was just so sick
of red this year for some
strange reason,  but I still
had a red checked table
cloth on in the kitchen, so
thought I will just set a nice
Valentine's table for two
in the kitchen.  Then did
not like the checked table-
cloth so decided on white.
So drug out a few things
and set a nice table and
now I am in love with
red again..........lol
Oh, our moods and likes
are the fickle or what??
Anyway, thought I would
let you see our table today.

So will get on with Thankful
Thursday...........

I am thankful

#1
for more yard work that was
accomplished on Friday and
Saturday in our back yard.
More to go tho......but we
are slowly getting there.

#2
that my son finally made it
safely to Amersterdam Holland,
for a work related trip....altho it
was quite an ordeal, long lay-
overs, cancelled flights, lost
luggage and sitting on the
Tarmac In Paris for 3 hrs. only
to be taken back to the terminal
because the plane had problems.
But best of all.... he got there
safe and sound.

#3
for a trip to Michaels crafts,
which is always a fun place
for me,  love the decor items
they have.....altho I didn't buy
anything decor right now, I did
get some craft type things for
lil darling for Valentines day
so we can do them together
when she is here.

#4
for a nice time with Megan
and lil darling on Sunday
evening. We spent some time
at their house and had dinner
with her, after hubby put up
some wood blinds for her.

#5
for finding out that Race Trac
gas stations have frozen yogurt.
Our fav frozen yogurt place
closed a month or so ago....and
left us wondering what happen-
to the sweet lil oriental couple
who ran it.......we are hoping
and praying that are okay.

#6
for Medicare.....only need the
Part B right now,  but very
thankful we have that and the
rest when we need it.

#7
for a very quick trip to the
Social Security office, I was
10 mins. early and they called
my name as we walked in the
door, and we were out 5 mins.
after my appt. time......great!!

#8
for a very nice Valentine's Day
with my Sweetheart of 47 years.
We got take out from Carrabas
and celebrated with Blueberry
Sparkling juice and a pretty
table, and lovely cards and
a surprise box of chocolates.
Then watched a really great
movie.

#9
for Hallmark Hall of Fame
movies, they are always so
heartwarming!  We watched
one last night and it was
called "The Lost Valentine".
It was so good.....but you
will need some tissues at the
end for sure, but it was a
 really excellent movie and
we highly recommend it.

#10
that I saw my neighbor out
walking around this morning
and he looked like he was
doing pretty good. (this is
the one that was in the motor-
cycle accident back around
New Years.

#11
that I had a revelation about
myself this week.....I just love
Valentine's Day, and love to let
everyone I love know that I love
them, even tho I know I love on
them and they know that, but
go way out of my way on
 Valentine's day, and most people
I know act like it is really no big
 deal..........but just in casual
 conversation with my hubby this
week I was telling him how that
was on thing my Mom always did
was give me a Beautiful heart
shaped box of chocolates for
Valentines day, and as an after-
thought said guess it was the
holiday that she celebrated
the most really, and I said guess
cause she was always working
overtime on all the holidays to
make extra money (since she
was a single Mom) and then
on Valentines Day it dawned
on me that is the reason I love
it and celebrate it so much.
Funny how you can have
something be such a part of
you but never think about the
why of it.........so found it
very enlightening in many
ways......that I would only
understand.

#12
for the great time we had yesterday.
I will tell you about it next week.

Well, there you have it for another
week at Cozy Place.

Hope you have a lovely rest of

the week.

Love, Hugs and
Blessings,
Nellie
