Thankful Thursday February 27, 2020, Our Winter living room 2020

Let the message of Christ dwell among

you richly as you teach and admonish

one another with all wisdom through

psalms, hymns, and songs from the

Spirit, singing to God with gratitude

in your hearts. And whatever you do,

whether in word or deed, do it all in the
name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks
to God the Father through him.
Colossians :16-17 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and happy!

We are well and had a good day. Talked
with my girl for awhile, went to get my
eyes tested and picked out new glasses
and then did a lil window shopping,
and went to dinner at our friends house,
and what a great dinner it was.....
so delicious.  So been a long but good
day.  Gonna watch an episode of Doc
and then turn in, just thought I would
get this posted first, since it was ready
other than this opening paragraph.

Pictures today are from our Winter
Look Living room, I went with green
and white in here as you will see.
Now the whole house looks the same
since I took out all the red this week.

So on with my Thankfuls......

#1
Thankful that we got our sidewalk all
cleaned up and our bushes all trimmed
back and it looks so much better.
Just need to add some new mulch and
some sidewalk lights and we will call
it a day.......once we do that!!  lol

#2
Thankful that one of our dear friends
that we were suppose to be getting
together with today (Tuesday) has
such a great attitude and is thankfully,
having very minimal pain. She called
on Sunday and she was exercising and
using one of the rubber resistance bands
that exercise guru's tell you to use for
strength training and it broke, and sent
her flying like a projectile into the
door where she hit her head and then
fell and hurt her knee, and was having
bad pain and after having to go to the
ER and have xrays, she has a hairline
fracture and they had to put her in a
full leg brace and she is not suppose to
put any weight on that leg. So this is
quite a challenge for both of them, as
her hubby has been having some
problems too....but she has the most
amazing attitude and is doing her
best to look for the blessings in
all of this.

Note:  This is the 2nd time we have
heard of someone getting hurt with
those things.  My son-in-loves co-
worker was using it and it snapped
and hit him in the eye, and they were
afraid he had a detached retina, but
praise the Lord it turned out okay
but if you use one be very careful
or maybe find another way to do
your exercise.

#3
Thankful for the ways that God directs
each of us and uses each other to bless
the lives of others.
A neat example this week was my hubby
was headed off to talk with another man
at church on Sunday but had the thought
to go talk with a dear lady who lost her
husband last year, she told him to please
pray for her as this was gonna be a tough
week for her as their 50th anniversary
was this coming Friday. So he prayed
with her that day and the next day we
were watching that program I have
told you we love on TBN called
"Better Together" and they were talk-
ing about grief and this one young
lady who had lost her husband to
suicide (and it had been about a year)
was talking about how things like
birthdays and anniversaries and
special holidays were so hard but she
made the decision to embrace them
and celebrate them instead of dread-
ing them.  So my hubby felt led to
call her son and tell him about his
talk with her and what this young
lady said, and the son and his wife
were very grateful he called and
said they had never even thought
of that and that they were celebrat-
ing on of their childrens birthdays
this week, so think they are gonna
do something for her as well,  and
we made a card and sent it to her
as well.  Hope she is so pleasantly
surprised that it will take some of
the pain out of it.

Loved these lil pine branches I found
after Christmas....perfect for Winter.

#4
Thankful that I was able to make
5 new cards this week.  So we
are up to 105 now.....

#5
Thankful that the antibiotics they
gave me for the UTI seems to be
working and has caused me NO
problems.

#6
Thankful that I have decided what
food I am making for my Sister-in-law
and hubbies birthdays which are
coming up soon.

#7
Thankful that our son started his new
job last week, and he was in training
for the week but said it was going
well.  Looking forward to hearing
more when we see him on Sunday.

#8
Thankful I have an appt. to have
my eyes checked tomorrow and
to get new glasses.

#9
Thankful that I have been getting
so much good sleep in the last
months.  Such a blessing when
you are used to being sleep de-
prived for awhile.

#10
Thankful for the Peace that only
God can give us, in this crazy
crazy world we are living in.

#11
Thankful for a neat idea that we
heard about on "Better Together"
today, and if you don't watch it
you really should try it.....we
have really been blessed by this
show.
Anyway, the story was Lisa Harper
and a friend were traveling together
for a speaking engagement and
nothing was going right, their flt.
was cancelled or late, they didn't
have their rental car ready when
they arrived at the airport, and
other annoyances of just a bad
travel day, and Lisa was starting
to get frustrated and made some
sort of negative comment to her
friend,  and her friend said
"Stop and give me 10" and she
knew what that meant...It meant
stop and give me 10 things you
are thankful for right now.
Boy, wouldn't that change our
outlook in a hurry if we prac-
ticed that everytime we started
to go south............just some
food for thought!
Hubby and I tried it out after the
show just to see how it would
work, he did 5 and I did 5......
we weren't really going south
today, but we do have those
 days sometimes......and think
this could be a great tool to
change our thinking and a very
good habit to make.

#12
Thankful to have my sister-in-laws
 Birthday table all planned and
partially done and waiting for Sunday.

Well, That's it for Cozy Place
today.......

Thanks for dropping by

and

Have a Beautiful Weekend

Love, Hugs and
End of February Blessings,

Nellie

Valentines Breakfast Table

Hello Sweet Friends,

Hope you had a good and productive day.

Ours was that......worked on a table for my
Sister-in-law Susans birthday and then
decided it was time for all the poinsettias
and the red to go from the family and
dining room, so did that and added green
and some white it it's place, leaning
a lil more toward Spring but still have
Winter accents too.

Hubby got a lot of bush cutting done out
in our front yard today which was great,
and needed doing. We try to cut them
way back every other year, so that they
don't grow too tall.  So we are making
progress.....and I love to see progress
on any project, it just spurs me on.....

Thought I would show you our break-
fast table on Valentines day.  I set it
pretty for breakfast cause lil darling
was here with us in the morning.
That lil sweetie loves her some bacon
and eggs and usually orange rolls, but
I gave her a choice between orange
 rolls and Valentine mini cupcakes,
since we didn't want to sugar her
up too much! She chose the cup-
cakes, as she loves those too.

Just threw this together with pretty much
what I had....other than the plates and
napkins...

Hubby gave me this beautiful dwarf
azaleas. They are pinky peach,  but they
look very peach in the pictures.
They are so pretty whatever color
they are...........lol

Picked these cute plates and napkins up
at the dollar tree.

A few overviews

with a Posterized affect

Had this Dove candy box from a few
years back that hubby gave me, (their
chocolates are really good, by the way)
so just added it in with some hearts
and candles, of course.

We had a nice enjoyable breakfast.
Hubby does our bacon and eggs
all the time now.  I love that!
Cause other than grilling that is
the main cooking that he does,
but he does help out as my
Sous chef a lot!  Think that's
how you spell it....lol

Believe it or not I just found out what
sous chef was from a movie about
a month or so ago.  Always heard
of it, but never knew what it meant.

Just in case you don't know, it is a chef
that chops everything for the head chef.
Makes cooking a lot faster and easier
for sure.  My Dad was a Chef but he
didn't have a sous chef but he did
have a lot of people to clean up
after him which was nice, as he
was a great cook but messy!  lol

Well, hope you have a lovely day,
and Thanks for coming by.

Love, Hugs and

Nellie

Scripture Sunday

Happy Sunday
Sweet Friends,

Here is the verses for Today!!

Even youths grow tired and weary,
 and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD

 will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:30-31 NIV

Have a lovely Sunday,

Hugs,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday February 20, 2020, Our Winter Family room 2020

But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy. Spread your
protection over them, that those who
love your name may rejoice in you.
Psalm 5:11  NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you have had a really good week.

It has been a really good week here,
just getting some things done that
needed to get done.  Been working
outside some and really do love
doing that when I am in the mood,
and I have been in the mood...lol

Pictures today are from our
Winter Family room this year.

So on with my Thankfuls.

#1
Thankful for a fun time with lil
darling over the weekend, as we
had several days and sleepovers
while Mommy and Daddy were
away.

#2

Thankful that we did some tree
limb cutting today (Monday)
that really needed doing. Lil
darling motivated us over the
 weekend as she was lamenting
about how much she missed her
swing. We used to have it on our
tree in front of the house and last
Spring we had to have the tree
taken down, cause it was causing
drain field issues, so we had a tree
in the backyard so hubby finally
put it back up today.  She will
be thrilled when she comes
on Thursday.

#3

Thankful that our kids all had a
good time together at the beach
house you saw on my blog on
Tuesday.

#4
Thankful for the signs of Spring
cause I love all the new green leaves
and how everything just burst forward
into the newness of life....which is
such a reminder of Jesus' resurrection
from the dead,
but have to say I am not as Thankful
about the heat that comes along with
 it....... not complaining,
Just being honest!

#5
Thankful for my easy peasy clothes
drying rack.  I wear a lot of cotton
and I don't like to put it in the dryer
due to it shrinking my clothes, and
it is just so easy to store and pull up.

#6

Thankful that we got more yard
work done, this time in our front
yard.  We had white Lantana all
along our walkway and it looks
so pretty when it is blooming but
it grows so quickly we are con-
stantly having to cut it back off
our walkway and it also causes
our walkway to get mildew and
looks icky, so we decided it was
time for it to go. Gonna do some-
thing that is much easier to deal
with.....just have to figure out
what now??

#7
Thankful for some fresh mixed
veggies we found at our Publix
market in the produce dept.... it
had onions, mushrooms, red and
yellow peppers, and broccoli.
So all I had to do was throw it
in a bowl and add some salt
pepper, granulated garlic and
olive oil, mix to cover it with
the oil, and we cooked it on
the grill in a special veggie
grill pan and it was delicious,
and so easy..........love that!!

#8 and 9
Thankful I have a Drs. appt.
today for a physical, cause I
have been having some issues
and hoping Dr. can get to the
bottom of them.  (Thursday)
Thankful that my Drs. appt.
went well and he gave me
more antiobiotics cause they
think I have a low grade UTI
still.  Now have to make appts
for all those other things they
have to check, bone density,
Mammo, blood work, and
more.   It's like the never
ending story every time we
go for a physical.  lol  but
I am sure most of us feel that
way, but I am thankful our Ins.
covers all that and that we
have all those things avail-
able to us.  Not everyone
does.

#10
Thankful for the bible and
our lessons we have each
week that teach us so many
good things from God's word.

#11
Thankful that lil darling was so excited
about having her swing back up, we
spent most of our time with her on
Thursday outside swinging. Grampy
got a  work out swinging her....lol

#12
Thankful that we got our birthday shopping
done for lil darling as her birthday is in early
March. I have so much fun buying her clothes
and she loves clothes.....so it is a win/win
for both of us......and I found so many cute
things today.  Very happy about that and
can't wait to see her in them!

#13
Thankful for a trip to our favorite Mexican
restaurant and we so enjoyed our food.
I got a taco salad tonight and it really
was scrumptious.   lol

Well, that's it for cozy place this week.

Love having you drop by.....

and

You have a splendid  Friday and Weekend.

Love, Hugs, and
February Blessings,

Nellie

Folly Beach House - Redecorated

Afternoon Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and
enjoying life.

It's a beautiful day in Florida today,
but will also we a hot day of 85.....
Looking like it might be a mighty
hot Summer....sure hoping not!!
Just not ready yet......

Thought I would show you the ad
for our Daughter and Son-in-loves
charming new look at their Beach
Cottage. Wish I had the before pics,
so you could really see just how
much they have done and what a
great job of redecorating they have
 done.  So proud of them.
I would say it went from cute to
classy coastal.

Right now I am just showing you
the inside because the outside is
still in progress but should be
finished in the next few weeks.

They have actually been staying
there for the last 3 weeks and will
stay at least 2 more weeks.
They are absolutely loving every
minute of it and meanwhile they
rented their normal home which
helps to pay for some of their
renovations.  They are smart
cookies........

Below is the link to the listing,
hope you enjoy it.....
will post it again once they get
all the outside pictures in a few
weeks.

I will tell you about the changes
that were made since I posted it
last year.  see that post here.  They
had already made some changes
at that point but not too many.

In the Living area:
 New comfier hide-a-bed sofa,
new chairs, new pillows, new wall
 accessories, new rug, new banquette
seating in the dining area, with a new
round table and cute chairs, new light
fixture and new pictures and cushions,
and they also added tray tables, that can
be used anywhere. New shades on
front and back door.

In the Kitchen:
It's totally equipped
and nicely decorated with all that
you need, like glasses, cups, dishes
and flatware and kitchen tools,
toaster, coffee maker, pots and pans,
towels, and of course all your normal
 kitchen appliances. They also added
an additonal cabinet for more space.
(not shown in the pictures)

In the Bath:
All new wall accessories to add
some color, (it  is a very pretty bath-
room but definitely needed some color
to match the rest of the cottage.)
Also added a new cabinet for
 storage,  and a new shade.

Bedroom #1:
New Queen bed (doesn't look that
large in the picture for some reason)
with a Purple mattress, New Boho look
 headboard, New bedding and pillows,
Beautiful closet doors (there weren't
any before) New chair and mirror,
 new shades,new hanging lamp.
and new wall accessories.

Bedroom #2:
  New picture and new shades.

Well, that's all I can think of for
now, more to come in a few weeks
of all that was done on the outside.

Hope you enjoyed the post and
who knows maybe some one
might be trying to decide where
to go for vacation this year!  lol

Thanks for stopping by and
have a great week,

Love, Hugs and
Blessings,

Nellie
