Thankful Thursday February 5, 2026, and Winter Decor from our house #2

“Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.”

Isaiah 12:5 NIV

A Happy Hello to all you

Sweet Friends,

Hoping you are doing your best to enjoy

this Winter Season. We are.....I have to

confess I have been living in my Flannel

PJ's a lot lately, and loving every minute

of it.  So warm and Cozy....

It is still cool here, but we are more in

the 40 and 50's now.  Hope you all are

staying warm and cozy too,

Pictures today are of more Winter

Decorating, this time in and near

the dining room area.

Now on with my Thankfuls.

#1

Thankful my chicken Gnocchi soup came out

great!  We really enjoyed, althought I did

did think it tastes a lil different than when

I made it before, but just thought it was

my taste buds.  lol

Then in the middle of the night it came to

me that I had forgotten to add the parmesan

cheese. So NO wonder it tasted different. lol

It was an Olive Garden Copy Cat recipe.

Thankful I am finally done with the Winter

decorating and I was tempted and started to

tweak,  but I said to myself................

 NOOOOOOOOOO!!  lol

Have to say I have missed lil darling, as

her creative eye for decorating is quite

good, and she helps me resist the urge

to tweak too much...... which is good

for the perfectionist in me.  lol

#3

Thankful that our Daughter has gotten

quite a number bookings already on their

lake house, as she just started managing

it herself last week.

Here is a link again in case you missed

it and would like to take a peek.

Thankful for a sweet coffee mug our

Daughter gave me some years ago,

that has a big heart shape on the front

with all the kids, Granddaughter, and

Grand dogs names on it,  and on the

back it says " We love you with all

our hearts!"

Puts a smile on my face every time I

use it, as I don't use the same mug

every day!!  But I am today!!

So smilin' over here.....

Love this picture I saw and printed from Pixabay and
just taped it to the glass of the frame.  Quick and easy art.

#5

Thankful that my favorite time of year

for cooking is in the Winter.  Just love

being in the warmth of the kitchen

and cooking up some good vittles.  lol

We had Cuban food tonight and it was

so good.  Picadillo and Black Beans

and yellow rice.  One of our

yummy favorites.

#6

Thankful for one of my favorite kitchen helpers, my hubby, cause he chops

things for me, which makes things easier

and quicker for me.  I can be getting the

 ingredients out and  putting things

together while he does the chopping

and opening cans, if need be.

#7

Thankful that we made it thru our first

below freezing night with no problems,

as did our Son, Daughter and Son-in-love

and sister in law.  Our Son had a small

issue because he has a well, but the water

came back fairly quickly.

 Unfortunately our new neighbors

woke up to no water as they didn't leave

the water dripping. Hoping and praying

since it is sunny out that it thaws out

today,  as we have another night or

so left of these temps.

Note: Thankful for the sun today as

our Sons and our neighbors water came

back pretty quickly.   Shew......

#8

Thankful for a good movie we saw on

Angel studio app called "Summersnow".

Really good, but get your kleenex out.

#9

Thankful that after praying, hubby was able

to easily fix my computer.  Was doing some

thing last night and it just sort of shut down

and wasn't working right,  course our first

thought was a virus, cause he couldn't get

in with passwords or anything.  After he

prayed he had the thought it might be the

keyboard, so he changed the batteries and

guess what,  back to normal.

Thankful for my 2 heroes,  Jesus and hubby.

#10

Thankful for just plain ol' Oatmeal, haven't

had it in a long time.  So had it for break

fast this morning with butter and honey,

and the other half with strawberries and

blueberries drizzled with a lil bit of honey.

Sooooooooo good!

#11

Thankful that I woke up in the middle

of the night and my back was hurting,

so I thought maybe I should get up, and

then I thought what are you gonna do?

Computer was down, didn't want to

turn on the TV and wake hubby, and

I was already praying, so read, popped

into my head and I thought oh yea,

I have been wanting to reread a book

I read when I had a pinched nerve

over 30 yrs. ago, called "Secrets of

the Vine" by Bruce Wilkerson.  So

got my glasses and  quietly got out

of our bedroom.  Once out, I realized

the book was on a shelf in our bed

room, so I thought well, I will read

more in my "God Winks" book but

then I couldn't find it in the dark

cabinet where it should have been.

So decided to try to go quietly back

to the bedroom for the "Secrets of

Vine" book.  So read about 4 chapters

and the 4th chapter was on "pruning"

so by now I was sleepy so went back

to bed.  When I got up later and hubby

had the computer up and running

again, I noticed that One of my most

popular post this morning was a post

I did back in 2011, and it was on

adversity, and it was about pruning

and guess what book it was???

but something has already replaced

that post.....but.... coincidence, I think

NO, definitely being directed by the

Lord to read this book again,  so can't

wait to see what I learn this time.

Here is the Post "Help in Adversity"

in case you are there now>

Nah,  too small

Thankful that hubby was talking to our new

neighbor yesterday, the husband, and they

knew I was having back issues a few months

back and both of them were too, and they

were going to the chiropracter too.  He was

better but, she was still having some problems.

Anyway, he told hubby that he had bought

this decompression equipment on Amazon,

so he had his wife send us info about it,

and also told us the chiropractors they use,

as well,  just in case we have to change,

as they don't take medicare anymore.

Course, not sure if their Dr. does either,

but it was all great info especially about

the decompression machine because he

also has sciatica and he says he does it

for about 10 mins every night before

he goes to bed and it has really helped

him a lot.  So good to know and tuck

away in our mind just in case.

Right now I don't think I would need

it but, do get a lil nerve pain at times,

but comes and goes quickly.

So this will work until I think

of something I like better.  lol
