Tablescape Thursday - last winter tablescape - Happy Birthday Susan

 Hello Sweet Friends,

So what cha up to today??  Anything fun??

I decided to drag out my spring stuff and
get decorating, got the mantle and fireplace
and a couple of shelves and 2 walls done,
so it is looking a lil more springy,  really
don't like to start until it is spring, but since
Easter is so early this year, I wanted to use
my Easter stuff, so decided it was time,
plus it has been like spring since Feb.
anyhow, so might as well look like it
inside too..........lol

Well, this is my last Winter table for
2013,  it was for Susan's Birthday.
We celebrated on March 1st, the night
before Megan went to the hospital.

So here it is..............

Was trying to figure out what I wanted to do,
had decided to knot the napkins, but wasn't
sure where I wanted to put it.

So tried on the plate and on the table.

then thought maybe I should use bowls for the
salad and the salad plates for dessert.  So tried
this.............

Then just for fun I used one of these plates that
I use on the wall just to see how it looked.  I only
have 4 tho................

I was having trouble coming up with a centerpiece
so I went online to look at tablescapes done in red
hoping to get some inspiration....and lo and behold,
I came across my own centerpiece, I did 2 yrs. or
so ago, with this crock full of fruit.  I thought that
was a riot................
So this is the new rendition !!

egg cups can make nice tealight candleholders

This is the backside of the vignette

Decided just to use the plates only
as it is just easier when we do buffet style,
which is all the time really............
then I just put the salad bowls by the salad
and we used the salad plates for dessert
this time......................

and use the napkin differently at every place

didn't use this one

cause I liked the rim of the plate showing better.
It is definitely prettier when I use the salad plates
with it tho..................

This is from the right side of the table

Well, hope you enjoyed your visit,  and hope your
spring decorating is coming along well..........

Takes some time,  but well worth the fun of it all.

Guess I best get busy making probably my last
batch of beef stew until the Fall at least...........

Am linked up to Susan
over at Between naps on the porch,
so if you want to see more tablescapes

See ya tomorrow!

Hugs and Early Spring
Blessings...........

Warm Fuzzy Tuesday

Howdy Sweet Friends,

How was your weekend??  and how has
your week been going thus far??  Great,
I hope....................

Our weekend was good, sorta quiet, in fact, I don't even
remember what all we did............but I do remember that
we got to see BROOKLYN and her parents
on Sunday!!  lol

So that was definitely My Warm Fuzzy for the week.

Ya know, I am not even really a baby woman, Oh,
I love babies and think they are cute and sweet,
of course, but I mean I am not a woman who goes
OH, a baby, Let me hold it,  ya know what I mean??
I tend to like them better when they are more
mobile and talking, and I really like teenagers,
I know....I'm wierd like that!

But my own babies and now this beautiful lil
sweetheart I am now grammy too,  that is a
 whole 'nother story.
As I was holding Brookly on Sunday and
carrying her around and watching her, all the
fascination I felt with my own children just came
flooding back like it was yesterday,  I was and am
totally captivated by them, I love  holding them,
watching them, looking at their lil feet, toes, hands
and fingers and their lil ears, nose, lips and her
beautiful soft baby skin, and love to hear their
 lil stretching and grunting noises.
(sigh ~ be still my heart!)
A lil bundle of Joy... so full of God's handiwork,
such an Amazing Miracle &Blessing!!

Everything else just seems to pale in comparison!
I just can't quit thinking about her and looking at
her pictures, and hoping that she feels every bit
of all the love that I and her parents and other
grandparents feel for her.....................

Guess this is what all my already grandparent
friends have been trying to tell me.

Can anyone else relate???

Guess I have definitely been bitten by the
Grammy bug, huh!!  lol

Tomorrow,,,,,, I promise not to say too much
about her,  as I plan to do a tablescape Post.

So see ya tomorrow!!

Thanks for coming by.......and saying Hi,

Have a great evening,

Love, Hugs, and
Warm Fuzzy Blessings,
Nellie

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - March 7th, 2013

  For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
 Psalm 139:13-14

Morning Sweet Friends

How are you today??  I hope your
week has been one of Joy!

I can definitely say it has been one of joy
for me and my family for sure.  Altho, we
are tired and catching up on sleep and
rest our hearts are full to overflowing.
This wee one has quickly captured all
of our hearts...................
I know that some of these thankfuls
might seem redundant,  but these are
the things that are filling my heart,
and you can never thank God too
many times................lol

So here we go.....................

#1
I am thankful
of course, for this brand new lil treasure
God has given to us, thru Scott and Megan.
Brooklyn Jade

In Case you missed it Just click here!

#2
I am thankful
 to my sweet daughter-in-love
for including me and inviting me to
be present for my first granchild's
birth.........it was an unimagineable
 experience of a lifetime!!

Thank You so much,  Megan!!

#3
I am thankful
that she arrived safely, and without a
c-section, even in the midst of the trying
 circumstances.

#4
I am thankful
for all the answers to prayer that we saw
in the midst of those circumstances.

#5
I am thankful
for all of those that prayed for Megan
Scott, Brooklyn and us while the process
was going on.  Thank you so much....
that was priceless gift to all of us.

#6
I am thankful
and very excited about this new role
as her Grammy, and am having a hard
time staying away from her!   lol

I hear that is totally normal.........lol

but know the kids neat rest and
time to meld as a new family.

All pics on this post are from

#7
I am thankful
they are all home from the hospital
and doing better after getting a lil
more sleep.

#8
I am thankful
they saw the Pedicatrican yesterday
and he said all is good with our lil
cherub, and also thankful that Mom is
doing better every day too.

#9
I am thankful
for the lovely hospital and the staff
that took such good care of Megan
and Brooklyn.  It was really neat
that the whole family could visit
with her while she was in labor, not
that we were in there the whole
time, but at least we could see for
ourselves what was going on, and
not just have to hear it from some-
one, and think it was a comfort to
Megan and Scott as well, course
at times they needed some peace
and quiet which is totally natural.

#10
I am thankful
we had a nice time out for my sweet
hubbies birthday, he turned 65 yester-
day, Dee and Jerry took us out to dinner
and then we had cake and yogurt at
their house after............so that made
it more fun than just having dinner and
 coming home.............and we will get
together as a family once Scott and
Megan get "Their new baby in the
 house equilibrium" down pat.

#11
I am thankful
for what a wonderful gift hubby rec'd
for his 65th birthday, Brooklyn Jade
of course.  What a blessed gift!
He will surely never forget this
birthday, and  it sort of takes the
sting out of those 65 years!! lol

#12
I am thankful
for my hubby and what a great man
of God he is, and what a wonderful
husband and father he has been and
he is very excited about his new role
as Grampy. It will be lots of fun to
watch I am sure.................

#13
I am thankful
and so excited that I just heard from
a young lady that used to be in our
bible study way back when she was a
teen, she is my son's age now, 35, and
they have been having trouble conceiving
a child and my hubby and the elders prayed
for her,  a few months back,  and she just
called to say she is with child. So excited
and happy for her and her hubby of 5 years.
She is gonna be a great MOM, as she is
just a lovely lovely young lady, and sure
her hubby will be a good dad, even tho
I don't know him well,  I do know his
parents, and her parents well, and they
both have had great role models.....

Well, there you have it folks another
weeks worth of blessings............
always feel so great when I finish this
post.......always makes me realize how
blessed I am....no matter what else
is going on.........

Thanks for dropping by and I look
forward to hearing from you.

Thank you so much for all your lovely
sentiments and well wishes for our
family, they were so appreciated and
added even more joy
to this wonderful experience.

Love, Hugs,  and
and Sweet Grammy Blessings,
Nellie

She has arrived!!

Here's the new Mom and Dad...megan's not frowning she is crying
because she is so thrilled to finally be able to hold her baby, cause
she had some difficulties right after the delivery, so she had to
wait a while, which was like torture for her I am sure.

Evening Sweet Friends,
(Started this last night, but was just too tired to finish.)

Hope you are all doing well......

I have wonderful news.............
and that is our lil darling has finally arrived.

She came Monday Morning, March 4, 2013
 at 6:09 a.m.
She weighed 7pd. and 5 oz.
and was 20" long
and her name is Brooklyn Jade
and she is a precious lil beauty and
bundle of joy for sure!

Here she is just moments after her birth.
All I can think is about that song by Stevie
Wonder........Isn't she lovely, isn't she
wonderful................so true every word.

It was a long and arduous experience for all
of us, but especially for Megan, Scott and her
Mom.  They went to the hospital on Saturday
at 2 p.m., and they decided to induce labor
due to her having high blood pressure.

There were some very scary moments,
and it seemed like if it could go wrong it
did.....and a long wait... but Mom and Baby
got through it all, and are doing as well as
can be expected, for all they have been
through.  Megan and Scott are both just so
exhausted, as they have hardly had any
sleep at all since Saturday.
We feel so badly for them, but hoping
once they get home and they don't have
someone coming in every hour or so to
check on her and the baby maybe they
can get some much needed sleep.
Course, we are very grateful and thankful
the hospital staff are watching over them
so well too.

Megans mom and I got to be in the delivery
room and I just made it in time.  I got to the
hospital at 6:01 and she was born at 6:09.
Jimmy dropped me off in front of the hospital
and I ran as much as I could to the 2nd floor...
What an amazing experience!  Wasn't too
sure about it at first, but am so very glad she
asked me.  What a sweet experience to see
your first grandchild come into the world.
Am so thankful we were able to stay at Dee
and Jerry's as they are closer to the hospital,
cause I would not have made it in time, other-
wise.  Megans mom, God Bless her, stayed up
there and helped them the whole time.
Megan is such a trooper and did an amazing
job of weathering all the storms, bless her
heart, and she went thru quite a lot, and
Scott did great job of guarding her and
trying to comfort her as best he could. We
are so proud of them, and so excited about
this adorable lil cherub and our new role
as her grandparents and last but definitely
not least, we are thankful for God's watch
care and keeping over them, as we saw
him answer a number of prayers through
out this blessed event.

Daddy showing his girl.....her first sunrise!

Yours truly.......with our new sweetie.............
if we all look a bit ragged out,  it is because we were. lol
all these were taken just moments after she was born.
Can you tell I had been crying as well!!  lol

She was so alert and looking all around and sort of smiling at times

Here she is with her new Grampy

These were all taken about 3 hours later when
they moved them to their room. Mom was feeling
much better after some food in her tummy

Daddy admiring his lil precious one.

Sleeping sweetly and peacefully in Mommy's
loving and long awaited arms.

Quickly getting into my Grammy role.

I heard this quote once but have no idea
where or who wrote it, but it says:

A baby is God's opinion that life
should go on............

Just found it online and it was written
by Carl Sanburg, and I couldn't agree
with him more, cause there is no
sweetness like that of a baby.......

Well, thanks for coming by today....
and thanks for sharing in all of our excitement
and blessings with us.  It was truly a day
we will probably never forget.....

Have a lovely day,

Love, Hugs,  and
Sweet Baby Blessings,
Nellie
