Thankful Thursday - December 14, 2017, Christmas 2017

Suddenly a great company of the
heavenly host appeared with the angel,
praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom
 his favor rests.”
Luke 2: 13-14 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this has been a good week

for you.

It really hasn't been one of my best
weeks, but I have had worse.......lol

Woke up Thursday morning with
my throat burning so bad I was
sure I had strep,  but surprisingly
I didn't....you will read the rest
of the story below.

Tired and just want to get this
posted before I turn in.........

#1
Thankful I was able to keep our
invitation for breakfast with 4
long time friends on Saturday,
as by Friday afternoon I was
feeling bad again.....

#2
Thankful for a really great time
with these 4 friends. Fellowship
was sweet, food was delish, table
was gorgeous, as was all the pretty
 Christmas decorations...the
hostess is a very sweet and very
talented gal, and her home is truly
warm and inviting and a visual
 delight, and she definitely knows
how to make others feel special.
Love her and always love time
spent with her anywhere, but it
is an extra special treat going
 to her home.
So thanks Carol if you happen
to be reading...........lol

#3

So thankful for all my hubbies
help this week, he has helped
to get lots of things knocked
off my list and it is only Tues.
So thanks honey!

#4

So thankful that their were
not any really bad injuries to
 innocent bystanders during
the New York attack
on Monday.............

#5
Once Again....
So thankful for Policemen,
first responders and FBI agents.

#6

Thankful for journaling....I don't
do it as much as I used to, but had
an opportunity to look back at some
of my writings yesterday and they
are always inciteful to me.

#7
Thankful for some empty white
boxes I found that I bought last
year to wrap for a table center-
piece. Underneath our tree it
is bare as we haven't had time
to wrap any gifts yet, so when
I found the white boxes I knew
exactly what to do with them.
Put some pretty bows on and
under the tree they went!  It
really looks beautiful............

#8
Thankful that I got a lot of
cookies baked today even tho
I was feeling terrible.

#9
Thankful for CVS minute clinics.
I decided I should go cause my
throat was burning so badly and
I have almost lost my voice, so
was concerned I might have strep
throat or maybe an ear infection
as I was running a slight fever.

#10 and 11
Thankful it was not strep or an
ear infection, but a sinus infection
instead, so had to get antiobiotics
which I really do not like to take, but
gotta have them, and so thankful that
they are available to take when you
really need them.

#12
Thankful that we are pretty much
ready for our Christmas party tonight
other than getting dressed and I can
even get a lil nap in........which is
much needed.  Opened the windows
and aired the house out and sprayed
the house with lysol,  so hopefully
there want be any germs for anyone
to pick up............

Well, there you have it.....
another week at Cozy Place ........

Have a lovely weekend.

Love and Special
 Christmas Blessings,

Nellie

How to make your own Vintage Glass Christmas balls

Happy Tuesday Sweet Friends.

Hope this finds you well and rested!

I was well and rested yesterday....lol
I was sick over the weekend and was
feeling so much better yesterday and
tried to pace myself and just do easy
things, but I feel like I must of over
done it again,  as I am back to feeling
achy and tired again.  If you feel so led
please pray for me as I have lil darling
tomorrow and we are having a Christ-
mas party here on Friday night and
every time I think I am over it...
it seems to rear it's ugly head again.

So on with how to make your own
Vintage Christmas balls......hopefully!

Was just using these vintage looking
balls on a wreath centerpiece and
thought I would share how I made
them vintage looking, quite by
accident!!  So rather than do a
tutorial I am gonna just walk you
thru how it happened.....it really
doesn't get much easier than
this folks....lol

I started out with your typical Gold
 shiny glass and white frosted
 semi shiny glass christmas balls
when I purchased them.

So I was struck with an idea to
make a pretty centerpc. for my
guest bath.  I had these gold star
ice things you freeze to put in
glasses or punch bowls, and some
floating candles and the Christmas
balls I was talking about above.
So I floated them all in a big
bowl of water and lit the candles
and they looked lovely, but after
being in water for over a month
I realized when I took it apart
that it has really changed the
finish of the Christmas balls.

They now  were a bit duller in
shine and the color was a lil
different as well, so they took
on an old Vintage look which I
 sorta of liked.....which was odd,
as I am not much of a vintagy
person...........lol
and honestly I thought the
shine would come back once
they weren't water logged
anymore, but it never did!!

Anyway, just thought I would
share my experience so you
could try it for yourself if you
so desired to have some aged
looking ornaments.  Actually
they are even a bit duller now,
some years later.....but if you
are into the vintage look you
will love them. Can't guarantee
they will come out the same
way mine did but there is a
good chance, so you can just
test it out on one ball....and
see what happens, and if it
works you can have vintage
christmas balls!! You probably
just want get to use them till
next year....but who knows.

This is the same tray as above just
moved it to the living room after
I used it for a New Years table.

Just for fun this one has a posterized affect!

Thanks for coming by......

Hopefully will see you on Thursday.

Love and
Merry Christmas Blessings!

Scripture Sunday

God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth,
 a town in Galilee,

to a virgin pledged to be married
 to a man named Joseph,
a descendant of David. The virgin’s
 name was Mary.
The angel went to her and said, “Greetings,
you who are highly favored!
The Lord is with you.”
Mary was greatly troubled at his words
 and wondered
what kind of greeting this might be.
But the angel said to her,
“Do not be afraid,Mary; you have found
favor with God.  You will conceive and
give birth to a son, and you are to
call him Jesus.  He will be great and
will be called the Son of the Most High.
The Lord God will give him the throne of
his father David,  and he will reign over
Jacob’s descendants forever;
his kingdom will never end.”
“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel,
 “since I am a virgin?”
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit
will come on you, and the power
of the Most High will overshadow you. So
the holy one to be born will be called
 the Son of God.

Luke 1: 26-35 NIV

Thankful for the lovely Memorial
Service we went to on Sunday.
It was for a dear friend of mine's

a legacy that people will want
to remember with joy.

Thankful I am feeling better
today.  Yesterday I awoke to

 ears.....and alsowondered if it
was just being overly tired.
So just rested all day yester-
day (Thurs.) and I feel much
 better today,  the dizziness
and whoozyness seems to be
all gone.......so hoping it stays
that way as I get into the day.

#9
Thankful hubby is able to
work home today as he had
to go into work all week, and
was pretty tired and the traffic
on his commute is awful.

#10
Thankful for Pres. Trump
and his commitment to Israel
and the Jewish people, who
are God's chosen people, and
that decision will put the U.S.
in a position to be more blessed
 by God.

#11
Thankful for Christmas Music.
Just love listening to it all
season long...........

#12
Thankful for an old recipe from
a friend I grew up with, it is called
Coca Cola Salad and it is a jello
type salad that is awesome.
Making it today to take to a
breakfast tomorrow at a long time
friends house.  I am very excited
to see our friends as well as to
dig into this delightful salad.

Glad you came by......

Scripture Sunday

Thus saith the LORD,
Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
neither let the mighty man glory in his might,
let not the rich man glory in his riches:
But let him that glorieth glory in this,
that he understandeth and knoweth me,
that I am the LORD which exercises
 lovingkindness, judgment, and
righteousness, in the earth: for in these
things I delight, saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV

Happy Sunday Morning Sweet Friends, Have a Wonderfully Blessed Day! Hugs, Nellie
