Thankful Thursday May 4, 2023, and our Easter/Spring living room, Part 2

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
 in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults, and with my song
 I give thanks to him.
Psalm 28: 7 NIV

Howdy Sweet Friends,
Hope you have been having
a good week, this first week
of May.  Can you believe it??
We are more than 1/3 of the
way thru 2023 already.
It has been cooler here this
week because it has been
so breezy,  hope that sticks
around a while, it feels awe-
some when you go outside.
We are in the 80's but doesn't
feel that warm which is the
joy of it all..........

Pictures today are part 2 of our living room dressed up for Easter/Spring..........some of
that will be changing soon!
All the bunnies will be going bye bye.
Sad to say!!  lol

Now on with my Thankfuls
for the week......

#1

Thankful for a fun night out to dinner, and then some window shopping at Bealls Centric again, since we didn't really get very far, before we found our chairs last week.  A fun store!  Then a quick run to our Publix.  Works for me!!

#2

Thankful that my son took lil darling to the Dr. this morning cause her tonsils were so swollen, turns out she has strep throat.  Amazingly, only her throat hurts and she is feeling good.  We decided to take our immunity boosting regimen just in case.

Hoping we aren't too late!!  lol

Note: We weren't  PTL

#3
Thankful that I got more done working in my closet this week.
Got way more to go tho!!

#4
Thankful for a few things the Lord
revealed to me this week, that I
really needed to see.

#5  and 6

Thankful that we got to help lil darling with her schoolwork again today and that she had sometime this afternoon to get to play with her lil friend next door to us.  It has been awhile and even tho it wasn't for a long time, at least they did get to spend a lil time together, as they love each other so much and really enjoy playing together.

Note: She has been on antibiotics for 3 days, so she is no longer contagious.

#7

Thankful that lil darling and I finished making a Mother's day card for her Mommy today.

#8, and 9
Thankful for a visit from a friend that I have only seen once in 5 years. Much to my surprise it was to
apologize for something the Lord brought to her mind.  I was very touched by her humility and
obedience to God, and definitely warmed by her love and God's love for me, as that is a very
rare thing she did!!
  Relationship definitely restored.
Awesome!!

Thankful to get to catch up on our lives and what has been going on with both of us, as we
had along overdue 4 hr. visit.

#10
Thankful for the daisies my friend brought to me as well. I wound up making l large arrangement
and 2 small ones.  I have been looking for daisies for awhile and could never find any.  So they
were really an unexpected and
 special treat!!

#11

Thankful that I got all my Easter things taken down, just have to pack them away now, and make some Spring like replacements.

#12

Thankful that a problem with facebook got resolved very quickly. I Was notified late this afternoon that our online Card Shop we have on facebook, was unpublished because I had broken their community standards, with a Mother's Day card, I guess, as that was my last post.  So I wrote about it on my normal fb page, and said I didn't know what community standard it was that I broke, so how am I supposed to fix it.  Was it a scripture verse, the kind words, or that I used the word Mother??,  none of which I would correct. So, if you don't see me on facebook you will know why.

So not long after, I was notified  by facebook,

"Good News,  you have no violations."

So that was a quick fix....Praise the Lord!  Very happy about that!

That's it for this week at Cozy Place

Thanks for stoppin' by......

and

Hope you have a Terrific
 rest of the week.

Love, Hugs and
Happy May Blessings,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday, April 27, 2023, and Easter/Spring decor in the Foyer and Livingroom

For great is the LORD and most worthy
of praise; he is to be feared
above all gods.
1 Chronicles 16:25 NIV

Hello Sweet Friends,

Hope this week has been a blessing
to you and yours.
Ours has been mostly a blessing
to us, even tho, we hear bad news
at times, which keeps us praying,
If it wasn't for the Lord, His word,
and prayers going up, I am sure we
would all be in the pit of depression!

Pictures today are of Spring/Easter
decorating in our foyer and living room.
This picture below is the first thing
you see when you come in our door.
The wreath in the header picture
 hangs in there too.

So on with my Thankfuls.....

#1
Thankful for finding some chairs, finally, that I wantedto go with our new sofa we got back in early December. I wanted something a lil different and cute and not too wide, so as not to look so traditional and had been looking online for awhile now, but I was also concerned about
them being comfortable, and if you buy online, of course, you can't try them out either, so was perplexed and just figured I would keep checking around. Once again, we just happened on them at our new Bealls centric store.  Haven't been there for months but we just went there really for something to do and thought we would just check and see if they had any thing we might like.  Looked at all the chairs in the furniture dept, and saw nothing that would work for us, so decided to walk to the back of the store and look at the other home decor things, and as we rounded the corner there was 2 wicker rockers with a lil round table all for less than the one chair I saw online. We were amazed, no only are they so cute they were very comfortable, and came with chair cushions, they are sturdy as well.  So they
came home with us last Thursday evening. Think we are gonna use the table as a stool,  just need to
get a round pillow to top it with.  The Lord
never ceases to amaze us....

#2
Thankful that we also met a lovely hispanic
couple while we were there, and had quite
a fun time talking with them.  We had a lot
in common with them altho they are about
30 yrs. younger than us. We always enjoy
talking with people when we are out.

#3
Thankful for laughter. Little darling and I were
reading in one of her childrens books for school,
think it's called "The Moffats"  Anyway, this lil
girl had a doll with a certain name.....It's not a bad name..... it is just a very unusually funny
name for a doll.... and it just tickled our funny bone, so now every time we hear it,
we bust out laughing.

#4
Thankful that I got my linen pants hemmed
that I got for my birthday.  Now I can finally
where them, cause they were very long.  lol

Note:  I wore them to church today and felt
so comfortable and good in them.  Got a few
compliments as well, and it was just so nice
to have a new outfit, as it has been quite
some time, years really, as I just have a hard
time finding things I like and also that are
not made of polyester fabric, as it is just
way too hot for this girl, who has her own
personal Summers!!  lol

#5
Thankful that My Daughter and Son-in-love had
an opening at their beach house this weekend,
which rarely happens, (as it is a rental property),
so it was nice they could go their and relax
and enjoy themselves and get a change in scenery
as they have had a rough couples of weeks with
their doggie. His digestive problems seem to be
better and he seems to be back to normal as
far as the digestive issues go, but they still
don't know anything for sure yet,
about another serious issue the Vet found.

#6
Thankful for a good day at church, and then for
having lunch after with our friends we haven't been able to go with for a couple of months now due to both our schedules.  It was great to finally be able to catch up with them.

#7
Thankful we went to Cracker Barrel, as we hadn't
been there for months either, so the food was great
as always, and we had a lot of fun looking around
in the gift shop before and after.  They always
have the cutest things.  Such a fun and
 reasonably priced store!!

#8
Thankful that my daughter went for a 2nd opinion
about their beloved doggie, and she got much more
hopeful news today.  They are gonna recheck him
in 4-6 weeks.  Which was their original plan but
one vet thought they should do it sooner, and the
Vet that did the 2nd opinion did an ultra sound
for free and the nodule has not grown at all, and
is much smaller than they were told as well.

#9 and 10
Thankful for God's word, the Bible, which
is His love letter to us and teaches us how
He wants us to live and more.  Also, thankful
we still have the freedom to own a Bible
and read it anytime we want......

#11
Thankful that I got started in my closet
today, a project I have been wanting
to work on for awhile. Which includes
trying on clothes to see what works
with what, and what doesn't fit any
more and what does.  lol  Planning
to just do a lil bit everyday since it
is a large project......Getting started
is always the hardest part for me.

#12
Thankful to see lil darling for a few
hours and to visit crumbl cookie for
a treat today, since it will be our
last day to pick her up from school
for the year.  She gets out in 2 wks.
So summer vacation begins............yahoo.

Isn't this the cutest pillow,  it was a
birthday gift from my Daughter this
year.  I just love it.  Then flip it over
and you can just have it all white.
Really liked that feature too.

Well,  That's all for this week!!

Thanks for visiting
and
Have a Beautiful rest of the week,

Love, Hugs and
End of April Blessings,
Nellie

An Easy Peasy Fun DIY Bowl you can make........

Hello Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you all doing well and enjoying
April.........Wow, just another week and we will
be into May already!!  Shocking how fast this
year is going!!

I told you while back about a fun project
my Daughter and I did when we went to
visit her back in March.  So I am gonna
finally show you what it is.....

They are bowls made of coffee filters.
I saw these supposed stoneware bowls
somewhere in blogland, and they were
 $54.00
and thought Wow, they look a lot like
coffee filters to me, so decided to try
it out myself, just for the fun of it.
Here she is all finished up....................

#1

The first thing I did was take some

coffee filters (About 15 or 20) from

my kitchen but you can use anamount

you want (for the thickness of what

you want your bowl to be, or you can                use white ones....we had the  brown so                since I wanted to experiment to see if

what I thought I could do was                      even possible...........

Note:  At this point you might

decide if you want to shape your bowl

a lil wider or differently.  I wished I

had thought of that afterwards. lol

P.S.  If you want to see how it looks
in white scroll all the way to the end
of this post.

#2
I got out a small paint brush and some
elmers glue all, then painted around the
rim to make sure all the edges were
covered and would stick together well.
I did 2-3 coats of the glue, cause
I didn't have any Modge Podge and
didn't have time to go get any, and
decided this would be a fun project
to do with my Daughter as well.

#3
Once you get some Modge Podge,
Set you bowl to be... upside down on
a can that it fits.  Like in the pic
below.

#4
Cover the top of the bowl with the
Modge Podge, then do the sides
you can put as thin or thick a coat
as you like, just know that the thicker
the coat the longer the drying time.
Then set it aside till it dries.

#5
Once it has dried, turn it right side
up and paint the bottom and sides
of the bowl.  Then set aside once
again till it dries.

#6
I put about 4 coats on the inside
and outside of the bowl, of course,
letting it dry between each coat.
and it made it quite sturdy.
You will be able to tell when
you think it has had enought
coats.  May daughter put less
cause she put it on thicker.

and That's it......
now finds something
cute to put in it, a few examples
below.  Only dry things I might
add or you might have a thicky
mess.........  I don't really know, but
probably best not to try it. lol

faux Strawberries

Poupourri

 maybe a bird nest.

or

Easter Eggs

and my Daughter said she was gonna
put shells in hers since she has a
coastal look.....................

Oh, and once I got home I happened
on some large cupcake papers in my
cabinet, so decided to make a smaller
one to see how it looked in white.

Had these lil stick on rabbits,
so just popped one in.....

The cupcake size could make a nice
earring or ring holder.

This would be a fun project to do
with your kids over the summer......
or anytime,  I am just thinking about
lil darling since she will be out of
school soon.  lol

Also, just thought about how craft
Stores have those pretty cup cake
papers that are in prints and flowers
and stuff,  so that might really
be pretty.  Just looked online and
oh gosh they come in so many
different colors.  This would be a
fun thing for kids to make for their
Mom's for Mother's day as well.

Well, hope you try it out and have
fun doing it......nice project so you
can talk and paint all at the same
time.  I like that!!

Have a lovely rest of the week,

Hugs,
Nellie
