Sunday - Quotes to Ponder #12 - Change

Happy Sunday
Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you planning
something fun for Valentines
Day or maybe even celebrating
early since it will be here before
we know it.........

Here's the quote for today!

“We want God to change
 situations.
God wants to change
us in them.”

     ― Wayne StilesWaiting on God:
What to Do When God Does Nothing

Ewwww......This is something we
typically do not want to hear..........
Am I right!  lol

But...............

I think it is so true....
so many times.....
I call it God's school room.........
He always has something to teach
us in almost every situation, so it
makes sense  for us, to be looking
for what He has to teach us, cause
many times they reveal ways we
are not trusting Him, and they
are usually life changing.

I have another quote that sort

of speaks to this as well,  it is by
 Leslie Gould, The Amish Nanny.

"Sometimes God calms the storm,
and other times God lets the storm
rage and calms his child.
 in the storm."

I have experienced both, and bet
you have too, if you think about it.

So next time a situation or a storm
comes along.....
remember Romans 8:28......and
it will help you to remember that

" in all things God works
for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to
 his purpose."

It always helps me to remind myself
of what this verse says, and then
to look for that good He promises.

Happy Pondering!

Thankful Thursday February 9, 2017, with Pink and Red Flowers

In God we make our boast all day long,
and we will praise your name forever.
Psalm 44:8

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope it has been a good week

 at your house where ever
you live............

Been a good week here but can't
believe it is Friday already.....
My how these weeks just click
off so quickly......lol
Anyone else feel that way??

Since Valentine's Day is just
around the corner thought I
would send yall some pretty
pink and red flowers to cheer
up your Winter days......

I am thankful

#1
that we finally had a phone
consultation with an attorney
last Friday and it was free.
We finally got some answers
we needed, altho, we didn't
really like the options, but
such is life, at least we now
 have answers..........lol

#2
for being able to go out to
lunch with our former Pastor
and his wife, that are down
here for the Winter. We had
wanted to get them over this
past week for dinner, but
couldn't since hubby was
sick, and thankfully they had
no plans for lunch after church
so we got them all to our-
selves...........lol
They are in their 80's and
they are just such great folks,
and we always enjoy our
time with them so much.

#3
for a fun time just hubby
and I watching the Super
Bowl game.....there was
a time I could have cared
less and might sit with him
and just read a magazine,
but have learned over the
years that I need to try to
enjoy some of the things he
enjoys too. Cause I sure like
it when he does that for
 me.............lol
and you know what I have
to say I actually really enjoy
it myself now..........

#4
for another problem related
to my late Mother's home
that seems to be quickly
resolved.

#5
for Sparkling grape juice, the red
or white grape, and now they have
a blueberry one. It is all delicious!
We usually save it for celebrations
but lately we have been drinking
it quite a bit..........lol
Good it is non-alcoholic,,,
cause think we are hooked.  lol

#6
that hubby is feeling much better
but notice he was more tired at the
end of the day than usual, but
now (Friday) he seems to be
over that too.

#7
for being greeted by the lovely
fragrance of a wallflower plug in
from bath and body every time I
walk into our guest bath. Got 6 of
 them for Christmas, all different
fragrances, and just put a new
one in recently and it is called
" Champagne Toast".  Smells
good enough to eat.........

#8
that all my white azaleas are
blooming after all, so the cold didn't
hinder them at all, and now some
gardenias and lantana too.  So it
looks like Spring around here in
some ways or at least the promise
 of Spring.............lol

#9
for getting to watch a beautiful
red cardinal take a bath in our
birdbath this week.  They are
such beautiful birds........

#10
for being able to steal a few
minutes out in the sun on this
Sunny beautiful blue sky day.
We have had quite a few of
those lately....but just haven't
gotten out there.  So today
(Thurs.) was the day!!  lol

#11
for a yummy pot of beef stew
cooking as I write....can hardly
wait for din din......I absolutely
love me some beef stew!!  lol

Note: Dinner was great!!

#12
that the paper mill sent me a
picture of my Mom's house
after they did the clean up.
So it looks good.....and clean
with the yard all mowed too!
So we shouldn't have to worry
about the yard for awhile.

Happy you could stop by for a visit
and hope it made you think of some
things you are Thankful for too.

Would love if you shared

a few too.............

Have a Glorious Weekend,

Part 2 of Winter in the Living Room

Morning Sweet Friends,

Happy Tuesday to you!
Hope you had a nice weekend
and Monday........

Anybody else watch the
 Super Bowl???  lol
It was quite the game,  huh!!

Well, yesterday I worked hard around
here so today is gonna just be a fun day.
So.....Today I am looking forward to
doing some creative things and taking
and editing pictures, as I have just
been itching to do something creative,
but you know how it goes.....ya gotta
do what you gotta do to maintain your
home and family. So with most of that
done, and hubby wanting to get take
out from his fav b-b-cue place tonight,
which = no cooking for me, I can
just have fun all day........whoo hoo!

Figured I would show part 2 of our
Winter Living room, since this was
where I was last being creative.....
and there will be a part 3 coming
up too..............

It all started with this lovely printable I found
over at "How to Nest for Less.com"
Click here to go there if you'd like.

I was looking for a Free Winter printable but
could not find anything that would work in
Blue....well, actually the right shade of blue,
and that was the accent color I was wanting
to use in this room. So really liked this
New Years printable........as it was something
different and certainly fitting at the time I was
decorating the room.

These are all vignettes from our
white Etagere' in the living room.

Mostly used neutrals but threw in a little
 blue here and there.

With photo copy and equalized affect
just for fun.  Love how it came out!

These finials mostly get used in the Fall
and Winter.....really liked them on the
silver tray this time.

This was how I had it originally,
but decided to change it

to this to add a lil more color
and height with the books.

Love this music box hubby
brought me from Germany some
years back, it almost looks like a
 Thomas Kincaide painting.....
After he gave it to me, we were
reading a tiny pamphlet inside
the box, and found out it was
designed in Fort Lauderdale,
 Florida...Isn't the crazy.......

Can you tell I like white pitchers?

Same pic but with Photo copy affect

and I also love creamers as well!!

Here are a few overall room shots.
Love when the sun comes
 streaming in the windows.....

Now you can see where vignettes
 were placed overall............

If you missed part 1, and would
like to see it,  just click here

Thanks for coming by.....always love
 to know you were here...............

Now,  I am off to have fun!!

Hope you have a fun day too!

Love, Hugs, and
Fun Day Blessings,

Nellie

Sunday - quotes to ponder #11 - 2 Nature's

Good Sunday Morning to You
Sweet Friends,

Hope you are having a lovely
and restful day.

Here is the quote for today!

“Two natures beat within my breast
The one is foul, the one is blessed
The one I love, the one I hate.

The one I feed will dominate.

-Anonymous”

This seems more of a poem than

a quote....
but it's meaning is no less true.

That foul side that we hate, can

exhibit itself, as indifference,
selfishness, pride, discontent,
 rudeness, impatience, compet-
itiveness, lack of self-control,
 and worse.....

and

the side that is blessed that we

love, exhibits itself, as love, joy,
 peace, patience, kindness, good-
ness, gentleness and self control.

according to

 Galatians 5:14-24

Don't know about you but as

a Christ Follower.......
I choose the latter of the two,
I want to feed that nature, and
have it dominate my life and
my relationship with others,
and I find that it is best fed,
on a diet of Bible reading,
Bible Study and Prayer!

Happy Pondering!!

Hugs and Blessings,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday February 2, 2017, Winter Vignettes from 2017

“As long as the earth endures,
 seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat, summer and winter,
day and night will never cease.”
Gen. 8:22 NIV

Welcome to February
Sweet Friends,

Can you believe we are already
one month passed the New Year?
Wow!  I can hardly believe it.

Not a lot going on here this
week, accept cooking, hubby
being home all week sick with
a cold, having lil darling on Wed.,
and lots of crazy stuff going on with
my late Mother's home. My Aunt
had been living in it, for almost the
last 12 yrs, but she can no longer
live there, as she has developed
dementia, so the house has been
empty since mid-November, and
I am a co-owner with her, so we
are in process of trying to find
out what to do in order to sell
it......and this week a paper mill
near them had an explosion and
Mom's house and neighborhood
were the most affected, so the
Paper Co. is having to clean up
 the neighborhood, so there were
phone calls and consent forms
to sign and email.....
Then I found out there is a cat
in the house that is terrified of
people other than my Aunt and
the neighbors have been taking
care of her and 6 other cats.
So it has been an interesting
week I have to say!!   lol

Thought I would just add some
more of my Winter Vignettes
for the fun of it.......
and let the post speak for itself.

I am thankful

#1
that our neighbor who had the
motorcycle accident was in
good enough shape to get the
surgery on his shoulder and
is now out of the hospital.
Seems to be recovering well
at this point....

#2
for a great recipe I found on
Lois's blog for French Onion
Soup.  It is absolutely delish
and very easy to make as well,
my kind of recipe!!  lol

It is at Walking on Sunshine
recipes blog.
Click here to go to the recipe
or type in....

#3 and #4
that we found we could play
Pandora on our tv, and for the
beautiful instrumental music
of Kenni G, Yanni and John
Tesh.  They play such
 Soothing and lovely music.

#5
that our new church campus
has added to their number every
week now.  They are up to 94
people already........so there are
over twice as many people as
they started with.....great to hear.

#6

for a heartwarming story I read
about a dog (a golden retriever)
keeping his owner alive and alert
for 20 hrs. after the man fell on
the ice and broke his neck. The
man has recovered from his
paralysis for the most part and
is in theraphy to regain his
strength and such.
What a precious dog......

You can click here to see the

story if you'd like.

#7
tht we found a new series to
watch onTV.  It was on the PBS
station.  It is called"Victoria" like
in queen Victoria. We have seen
3 espisodes so far, and they were
great.  We think we are really
gonna enjoy it.

#8
for a totally unexpected call
that took care of 2 problems
that were a concern about my
late Mother's home.  God is
just so amazing..........

#9
that my son has an opportunity
to go to Holland with his job.
They will be taking classes and
 touring green houses, and that
is green houses like they grow
plants in, my first thought was
envirionmental friendly type
homes....lol....then I realized he
is in the Agricultural field, he
means real green houses.  lol
I am sure it will be quite an in-
teresting trip, as I would think that
 fun as well.....
Hope he gets to see some Tulips,
course, it is the dead of Winter
there, but at least he might get
to see some growing in green
houses, which is better than
nothing...........lol

#10
for a bush full of buds on my
white azalea bush... when the
rest of the yard looks like the
dead of Winter.
 Poor thing is confused and
thinks it is Spring, and I was
concerned the cold snap might
make them lose their buds or
just maybe never bloom.  So
far, buds are still there and a
few have opened so I am
hopeful......it looks like a huge
popcorn ball when it blooms
and is Gorgeous!

#11
for what sounds like a super
great choice for our next
Supreme court Justice.

#12
for these new Peanut Butter
(healthy) energy bites my
 daughter gave me the recipe
 for....they are great....love
them with coffee first thing
in the morning and they can
also be a sweet treat as well.

Here is a link in case you
are interested.  Click Here.
or type it in yourself

Here's to another week at Cozy Place!

Happy you could drop by for a
visit.....and hope you come
again soon

Keep you light shining brightly,

First of February Blessings,

Nellie
