Welcome to Thankful Thursday - August 7, 2014 and Part 2 of Asheville NC Scenery

Devote yourselves to prayer,
 being watchful and thankful.
Colossians 4:2

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Now don't die from shock,
that I am on time for once.
It has been awhile I have
to say.........lol

Hope this finds you well,
 happy, and enjoying your
summer with your family
and friends.

I had a nice day just visiting with
my Sil Susan for a good portion of
the day, talked with Dee a few times
on the phone. All I did was make
my bed and clean the kitchen pretty
much, so shall we say it was mostly
a relationally productive day. lol
Oh yea, I did mow the back lawn (only
took about 10 mins. on the tractor)
and we did some more bush trimming
and cleaning up.  So looking good
out there.

Told you I would share Part 2
of the Asheville scenery, so that
is what all the pics are from.

Well, gonna get on with my list.

I am thankful

#1
that my friend Sharon who broke her
foot is doing so well. She has the best
attitude about it all, and I am sure
that is one reason she is doing so well.
Got to see her last Friday and on
Mon. of this week! As of tomorrow she
will have 3 weeks down, 6 to go before
she can put any weight on that foot.

#2
the Lord spared me from an accident on
Friday in the Walmart parking lot.
This elderly man darted right in front
of me because he thought I was gonna
take his wheelchair parking spot I
guess, came very close to hitting him.

I said, REAlllllllllllllly.....do you
think it is worth causing an accident
over a stinkin parking spot!!

Course, I was in my car with the
windows rolled up..........lol

#3
that we discovered that we can stream
some TV series shows from Netflix.
I had always heard about the Heart of
Dixie but never seen it, and we watched
a couple of episodes last night and
really liked it.......We also notice
they had the Duggar family one too.
Have always heard about that but think
it was on cable. Anyway, we can watch
that too. Wed.is usually our TV night
since I have Brooklyn all day and then
we usually do the lawn after.

#4

to have been priviledged to hear about
and see this clip of Joni Erickson Tada
singing for the new movie,
Alone, yet not Alone".  They taped her
prayer and then you hear her singing
and It is truly amazing.............

Just click here to see it.

If that doesn't encourage you
don't know what would.

Queen Anne's lace flower.  I think they are just so delicate,
and beautiful..............

#5
thankful for flowers of all kinds,
they just make my heart sing.......

They grow sort of like a dandelion.

#6
for a coupon from Domino's Pizza,
where they have the best veggie
pizza. We stopped getting it because
they increased the price $4-5.
So tomorrow nite will be pizza
nite here. and it was yummy!!

with a posterized affect

#7
for Dulce De Leche frozen yogurt
from Publix, never had it before
but it is yummo........a great
find as far as we are concerned.

This was a shot off their deck.

#8
for all the things I got done on Tuesday.
I will spare you the list, but I was
delighted!!  lol
I didn't sleep well, so got up at 5,
and went back to bed at 6:30 and slept
until 10:30, and I really hate when I do
that, cause usually I just feel out of
it and I am not very energetic, and the
whole day sometimes seems like a wash,
and I got up feeling like, oh no,
but thankfully, that was not the case
 today.......yahoooooooooo!!

These were taken from the mall parking lot...........seems like
the shopping areas have some of the best scenery.
These last 3 show the weather we had just before
 we left up there..............

#9
for my contour neck pillow. Funny cause
I sort of take it for granted unless my
neck is acting up, as it was Tues. night,
so very grateful for it, as it lines
everything up and my neck is much
better this morning. Thank the Lord!

#10
for oikos greek yogurt, especially the
Lemon Merinque flavor, just discovered it,
and love it.  I put it in a bowl, then put
rice chex's and pecans pcs, and a lil
coconut on top. Um Um......
 Makes for a yummy breakfast.
Tried Key Lime flavor this morning and it
was really good too.  Lemon is still the
favored one tho.

#11
for all this beautiful scenery you are
seeing here. It really is breathtaking
in person, the camera really can't do
 it justice.........
All I know is.....
God creates the best beauty there is,
and it is all around us no matter
where we live............

Again off their deck...........dreary..........but most of the week
the weather was beautiful,  but it did rain all day Friday and
Saturday,  but we had fun anyway.

#12
for a fun day spent with my SIL Susan,
today. Just chatting, drinking coffee
and catching up.  Also for a late
afternoon chat with my daughter, a
 sweet email from my Daughter-in-love
and a fun time with our lil darling
 on Wednesday.

So happy you could visit today
and hope you leave a comment to
say you were here.

  1. Hi, Nellie! I so enjoyed our visit too! The LORD has so blessed me with you coming into my life! I love you with all my heart!

I know what you mean about how good the yard looks after mowing! It took me 2 hrs. yesterday mowing the front and back "forty!" Ha! But it looks so good! The LORD had your invite come at the perfect timing.

#1. I can't imagine the pain when she puts her foot down! I have been keeping her in my prayers.
#2. With people like this the laws of right-of-way go right out the window! I have people cut me off all the time at the red light near my house! We have to truly be defensive drivers!
#3. Netflix is surely cheaper than cable! $8 a month verse $6 an episode!
#4. "Good Life" on t.v. is showing it right now! I had to watch it again! What perseverance she has. Her husband had to help her sing by pushing on her diaphragm. The one man in the film reminds me so much of dad in his younger years.
#5. What awesome designs our Almighty GOD makes in His creations. I also love the beauty of the trumpet flowers too!
#6. I enjoyed my piece yesterday while visiting you!
#7. Isn't it great to find a new healthy food!!!
#8. I know what you mean! I was "tuckered out" yesterday and went to bed and slept for 8 straight hours! I don't even remember turning over in my sleep! (I love your mountain picture! I can only imagine seeing in in person! Pictures don't show the 3 dimensional aspect of it!
#9. I have a foam pillow that helps my neck too! It really makes a difference.
#10. I'm so glad you share these foods! Your flax seed
#11. Amen! He is our Awesome, Almighty, Creator, Savior, Holy Father GOD!
#12. I praise our Loving Father for family! I love you all so much
    Love. Susan

  4. Queen Anne's lace is growing crazy-wild on the roadsides here. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to stop and take a photo as I drive between my parents village and our home...

Your mountain photos are beautiful. Not sure there are many more places more beautiful than N.C. :)

  5. It's nice to read this post and get to know you better. I went for a nature walk today and took photos of every wildflower I saw. It was fun and I saw some pretty Queen Anne's lace, too! Enjoy your weekend! Hugs, Diane
