Happy Sunday Morning
Sweet Friends,
Hope this day finds you well and happy
and
that it will be a quiet restful day for you.
I was reminded of this quote this week
due to a comment someone left on my
blog.......and I think it is a quite good one
as well. You may have read it before too,
but it bears repeating especially at this
time of the year, when everyone seems
to be in such a rush, and hopefully we
will carry it with us through the
New year and beyond...............
"Be Kinder than necessary, for every-
one you meet is fighting a hard battle."
(or at least some type of battle even if it is from within -
that part is from me) lol
one you meet is fighting a hard battle."
(or at least some type of battle even if it is from within -
that part is from me) lol
I was trying to find the author of the
quote and below are my findings.
It’s a great quote, but it’s unclear who
said it. It actually seems to be an
amalgamation of two separate quotations.
Author James M. Barrie, of Peter Pan
fame, said “Be kinder than necessary.”
But his advice stops there. Plato is
quoted as saying “Be kind, for everyone
you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
Whoever pushed these two together
actually created a more thoughtful and
salient point. It’s worth remembering
the next time you find yourself about
to be ungracious with someone.

Note to self......
We can all act out in our problems,
pain and stress at times.....and when
we do we want someone to give us
Grace.........We sometimes need to
remember to give others grace when
they are acting out in their problems,
pain and stress...............
Happy Pondering!!
Love, Hugs and Blessings,
"Growing more to be like Christ" is the result of remembering those with kind words, prayers for their needs, and sharing the love of our LORD Jesus with them. I've found in the last few years that no matter what my situation, I am thankful. There are so many others that are in worse conditions of this fallen world than I am. All the more your words are true about us not acting out when there are so many who would gladly "trade places and situations" with us who are in more need than ourselves. Thank you for this "pondering" thought. I love you all, Susan
ReplyDeleteHI Susan,
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by and for your comments..........
Even when growing in Christ we all have temptations to deal with, we are forgiven, but not
yet perfect.........lol Sometimes wish we were tho!! lol
Merry Christmas,
Love, Nellie
I adopted that advice when I was 21 and right out of college. I was working in a doctor's office and some of the patients (many had cancer) were not very nice. But, I reminded myself that they were hurting and went out of my way to be kind to everyone. It has served me well.
ReplyDeleteMorning Carol,
ReplyDeleteWow, you had a tough job right out of college. Yea, think people are typically at their worst when they are feeling bad or overtired.......
I agree it does serve us well anytime we are kind, but I think when people are hurting they
so appreciate the kindness more than they or we will ever know.
Appreciate the comments and your visit.
HOpe you have a Merry Christmas.
Blessings, Nellie
