Spring in the Foyer

Happy Wednesday
 Sweet Friends,

So how are ya?

Bet you are getting things ready
for Easter just like me..........
Am I right??

I don't typically post on Weds.,
cause I have my lil grandaughter
here all day for a play date, but
got busy doing other things yester-
day and just never got around to
editing pics and stuff till evening
So figured maybe I could do the
post today at some point.  So did
get the pics posted while lil darling
 was napping.......so will finish it
up now.

Thought I would start with my
Spring foyer, mainly cause I am
so happy with it....we have lived
in our home for over 36 years
and this is the first time I have
been really happy with this wall
that has been such an enigma for
me all these years.
My go to Spring accent color has
been pink for a number of years
now, but this year I decided just
to use it in the foyer and living
room for the most part, since we
were really enjoying the soothing
look we had for the Winter, which
was whites, creams, greens and
brass/ gold in the family/dining
room, and have added a lil bit
of pink here and there, not
much tho..............

Anyway......here is a look at
the foyer.  The enigma wall
is on the left.

Now tell me,  does anyone
else have a wall like that???

This is a look from the living room

Here it is as you come in the
front door.

See how we have this narrow wall,
and then it has steps down into the
living room, and one side is a hall-
way going back to the family room,
and the other side is the living room.
I have always had it decorated but
can't say I have ever been like
 thrilled with it.....

you know what I mean???

There are so many things I have thought
of to put under a picture or wreath there
but because the stairs go down it is very
hard to find something to go there,
cause it can't be too wide or too long.
Anyway I finally saw this plant stand
online, which my sweet daughter got
me for Christmas and that definitely
made it much better.....

So when I started my Spirng decorating
I decided to put picket fence floral
creation back up  as it used to be there
 some years back.

Then decorated the plant stand with
a urn with greenery, which helps to
hide another problem with this wall,
a 4 switch light plate. I have tried
many times to find a pretty light
switch plate, but being so large,
they are rare and I have never seen
one that I thought would do any
good, so nice to be able to put
something in front of it to camo-
aflauge it a bit, so it isn't the first
thing you see when you come in
the door........lol

Then I decided to use these 2 watercolor
prints in this room, this year.  I bought
them as a birthday gift to myself last
year, and used them in the family room.
I used the first one on the etagere but
wasn't sure what to do with the other
one, so just on a whim I decided to try
it in this spot, not really thinking it
would turn out necessarily.  So asked
hubby to hold it there for me, and I
really liked it,  and so did he.

Even tho I liked it .....seemed like there
was still something missing and decided
it needed something with height under-
neath it.  So decided on this topiary,
it was not quite tall enought so added
some books which did the trick.

Then added these cute lil birdies
I bought some years back while
 on vacation in Asheville.

Wasn't quite sure what to put on
the bottom but this bunny seemed
like a good idea, and knew lil
 darling would like it.....lol

So after all these years.....
I have to say I am totally tickled
with this wall for the first time~!!

appreciate that you came by, and

  1. WOW! It turned out beautiful, Nellie! I love your big picture on the wall in the hallway rather than over your fireplace! I can hardly wait to see it in person! I love you all, Susan
