Thankful Thursday March 31, 2022, And Chronicling My 70th Birthday

I thank my God every time I remember you.
Phillipians 1:3 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends

and

Happy 70th Birthday to me!!  lol

I hope you indulge me on this post,

I am truly not trying to be braggadocios,

just wanted to chronicle this in writing

and pictures for later remembrance for

myself, and my Sweet family, and knew

it would take you along for the ride.....lol

The header picture is of me and my sweet

hubby and you will see the rest of our

family throughout the post.

Me,  My Daughter, DeeAnna, and  Granddaughter Brooklyn (AKA lil darling)

So on with my Thankfuls..............

#1 and 2

Thankful that our Daughter and Hubby

were so sweet to drive here to celebrate

my 70th Birthday with me this weekend,

especially since we just left SC last Monday.

Thankful They got in on Friday afternoon

safe and sound, and back home safe

 and sound on Sunday evening.

#3

Immensely, Thankful for all my family and

all the sweet and encouraging things they

did to make it so special for me.  You guys

rock......and I love you all too pieces!!

#4

Thankful we could all get together on

Friday evening, and that we were able

to be outside on the porch as the weather

was perfect, and we ate and later played

a game of "PIT".  If you have never played

it, you should get a Pit game, it is so much

fun, a bit noisy but really fun.

#5

Thankful that we had a lil time to have

breakfast and just hang out on Saturday.

Could not have had better weather, cause

Thursday it was storming really bad, and

we all love the opportunity to be outside.

#6

Thankful for dinner out at a location of a

restaurant where we used to go all the time

when the kids were younger, not the same

restaurant anymore, but it was a nice blast

from the past. The background in the picture

is a tile mural of manatee's, (which has been

there all those years ago)

Manatee's are native to our area.  It's a neat

place you have to go downstairs to get to it,

and pass by this lovely mural to get inside.

I had Risotto for the first time and really

liked it.  Liked everything but the scallops.

I think I will probably never order scallops

out again because they are not cooking them

the way they used to for some reason, as

they are translucent rather than white

inside.  This is the 2nd restaurant that

has happened at, so I will cook my own

 from now on. lol

Daughter and hubby on the left, hubby and I, and Son and lil darling on the right.

                                #7

Thankful for a beautiful yellow cake with

chocolate butter cream frosting made by

the same gal that made lil darlings cake.

It was not just beautiful but sooo

delicious!!

#8

Thankful that we have a beach vacation coming

up this Summer in honor of my Birthday.  That

was the only gift I asked for, as we have not

done that in 9 years.

#9

Thankful that they have fully equipped me for our

beach get-a-way with a hat, sunglasses, bathing suit

cover-up, sunscreen, Beach towel, sandals, rafts

and pool noodles and an adorable beach bag to

put it all in.  So thoughtful and creative.

So I am read to go!!

My daughter dressed me up!  lol

#10

Thankful for a beautiful silver bracelet from

all of them, and the bracelet is so pretty and

she got it from an etsy shop and the present-

ation was just amazing, (unfortunately since

it's been opened I couldn't show you that.)

Wished I had thought to take a picture of

that.  So fun and So pretty.

Now every time I wear it I will think of

 this  Sweet and Special Birthday.

#11

So thankful for the special surprise of  a

"Memory Box" that my Daughter made

for me.  She contacted lots of friends

passed and present to add their thoughts,

comments, well wishes, or whatever they

wanted to write to me for my 70th Birthday.

She typed them all up separately and put

them all in a beautiful silver box.

Wow, I have to say I was blown away.....

I feel so encouraged and loved , and

my cup is truly running over.

If you ever want to do something very

special for someone on a very special

occasion I would highly recommend it.

We did it for my husbands 70th birthday

but we had it made into a book,  but

they aren't doing it anymore,  so she

got creative and decided to do the

Memory box instead.  I loved it!!

#12

Thankful to all of the sweet folks who

took the time to bless me on my

birthday.....in small way and big ways,

it was all so appreciated and you will

never know what it did for the soul and

spirit of this lady!!  I feel incredibly

blessed.....and pray the Lord blesses

each of you for your kindness to me.

#13

Thankful that on my actual birthday,

which was yesterday (Tuesday) the

day was amazing too.  I had 4 people

call and sing to me, and a lot of birthday

 cards, text and facebook messages.

What a fun and enjoyable day.......Just

when I thought it couldn't get any better,

 it did.

Also had a great day with my hubby,

he wanted to take me out to do some-

thing fun but I was just content to be

at home as we have been on the go

quite a bit lately, so we got take out from

a new to us, b-b-cue place we have never

been too, and it was great, I actually

loved their potato salad because it tastes

like Mine (my Mom's recipe). Most of the

time when I get Potato salad out it is too

sweet for me.  So we have found a new

restaurant to enjoy. So it was just a

happy and quiet yet enjoyable day

 spent with my honey.

Thankful Thursday March 24, 2022, Spring table from the past

that my heart may sing your praises
and not be silent. LORD my God,
I will praise you forever.
Psalm 30:12

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you doing well. It has
been a whirl wind week for us, since
we just got home on Monday evening,
but we managed to get everything
done we needed too to be ready for
this weekend.  So looking forward
to it.

Pics today are from a Spring Table from the Past.
The napkin inspired the table..............as you
 can see from pictures below.

So on with my Thankfuls......

#1
Thankful for dinner at our fav Mexican
restaurant as we came home on Monday
evening from SC. Then a quick trip to
grocery store and ended it with a waffle
 cone with chocolate/and vanilla swirl
soft serve ice cream from Jeremiah's.
Both were delicious!  and a nice way
to end our week.

#2
Thankful for children and what a blessing
they are.  We saw this tiny lil one in Publix
with her Dad who was just adorable and
had a personality larger than she was, and
was Just So cute!  Then as we walked out
of Jeremiah's we were greeted by two more  adorable children saying a big loud hello,
and the lil boy who said look, I have my
own ice cream this time...........these lil
ones just brightened up our already good
 day even more.  So Sweet!

#3

Thankful I got to talk to lil darling

for a few mins. on the phone after

school,  and can't wait to see her

on Thursday, and we are having

a sleep over.  So looking forward

to that.

#4

Thankful all our unpacking is done

 and over with today.  (Tuesday)

#5

Thankful to hear from a young

Lady that used to go to our church,

that I have known since she was

a wee girl.  Love hearing from

these kids that are all grown up

now with spouses and families

all their own now.

#6

Thankful that my Daughter's new

client liked her choices for a new

sofa and new carpeting.  Dee

worked really hard collectinlots

of pictures and fabric swatches.

Her client is 5 yrs. older than me,

and I have a hard time with some

of the new styles and can't find

the color of blue I would like either,

and she is looking for blue too!

#7

Thankful for our sleepover

and dinner out to Olive Garden

with lil darling.  We made the

best of the time we had.  No

staying up too late tho, as we all

had to get up early as she was

going on a field trip to SeaWorld

the next morning.

#8

Thankful we had time to have

her fav breakfast before she

left at 8 A.M.  It takes over

an hour to get there, especially

with traffic these days.

#9

Thankful that her Daddy got

to take her, as they will have

a great day together.

#10
Thankful once again for the "Better
Together" show on TBN.  I am always
edified and uplifted by this show every
time I watch it,  which is most days
Mon - Friday at 1:30 PM.
Such a blessing!

#11
Thankful for being able to see
and smell a flowering Wisteria vine
we saw in SC while out on a golf
cart ride. Was just reminded as
hubby sent me a pic he took of me
as I was trying to enjoy it's fragrance.
Wisteria was my Mom's most favorite
flower.  Haven't had the opportunity
to enjoy their fragrance in probably
close to 50 years........They actually
reminding me of Jasmine vines.
Lovely!!

I quit smelling too soon!  but he tried.  lol

Well, that's it for Cozy Place
this week.

Glad you could stop by....

Have a Super Duper rest of the week.

Love, Hugs and
last of March Blessings,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday March 17, 2022, Spring decor from the past

For God is the King of all the earth;

sing to him a psalm of praise.

Psalm 47:7 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

I am a bit late because we were away at my

Daughter and Son-in-loves for a week.

Just returned last night,  so can post it now.

This post will be a lil longer than normal

but next weeks will be shorter!!  lol

Pics today are from a Spring past,  as I

still have Winter and Valentine's decor up

at the moment.  lol  Didn't really have time

to take it down before our trip and  figured

it would give me something fun to look

forward to once we were back home.

Pics before Easter

#1

Thankful that hubby was able to fix a problem

we were having with our website pretty quickly,

which is always good!!

#2

Thankful that hubby was able to counsel

and encourage someone who was having

difficulties with their teenager.

#3

Thankful for a good day with lil darling,

Got all her schooling done,  and had some

time to play too in the afternoon,  and

her lil friend from next door got to come

over for about an hour or so.

#4

Thankful that I have most of my packing

done, and we are heading to our daughter

and Son-in-loves house in S.Carolina.

#5

Thankful we are about to leave for South Carolina,

and very excited about it I might add.

#6

Thankful we made it to Charleston safe and sound

Took us 1 and 1/2- 2 hrs. longer cause of the traffic.

We got rerouted twice, but was actually a lil fun

adventure, as the interstate does get tiresome.

Pics after Easter

#7 and 8

Thankful for Salmon that my Daughter made

us for dinner.  I do not like Salmon  typically,

too fishy for me,  but she buys Salmon with the

skin taken off,  and she puts in tin foil with a

spoon of chicken broth and olive oil, garlic,

and cilantro and cooks it 12 mins.  in a 400

degree oven and it was absolutely delicious.

Can't wait to have it again.  Also thankful

for her wonderful cream cheese and straw-

berry coffee cake she always makes for us.

It's the best............

#9

Thankful for a fun time out shopping at "the

at Home store" and  dinner at Carrabbas,

our daughters fav place.

#10

Thankful that Dee and I were able to go get

a pedicure to get our tootsies ready for Spring.

Always a treat!

#11

Thankful for our traditional St. Patricks day

dinner  of Irish Colcannon.  It was delcious as

always.  We finished it off for breakfast this

morning.  I even love it cold.

#12

Thankful for a fun golf cart ride around our

Daughter's charming and lovely neighborhood.

It is just such a visual feast and so much fun.

#13

Thankful for 2 ceramic bunnies  we found

at TJ Maxx, that I got while we were out

shopping again on Saturday. Which was a

real score, as I am only seeing Ducks and

gnomes for Easter this year.

Wierd to me.....

#14

Thankful for all the dinners we had  out or

as take out, so we didn't have to spend a lot

of time cooking.

#15

Thankful for a great time together as always.

We are all bummed when it comes to an end,

but such is life and we are grateful for the

time we do have together.......

#16

Thankful for a safe and uneventful drive

home.  It was a gorgeous sunshiny day

with no traffic delays or rain.  Perfect

traveling day for sure.

#17 and 18

Thankful we slept well  and thankful we didn't

over indulge in goodies,  so that we kept the

weight off we lost before our visit.
