Thankful Thursday November 30, 2023, and Christmas decor from the past

The Angel said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”  Revelation 14:7 NIV

   Welcome to Thankful Thursday

 Sweet Friends,

Can't believe this is the last day of November

So.........Good bye November.....

Hello December  Greetings........

Hope you are doing well,  I would imagine

you are deep into Christmas decorating by

now unless you put your decorations up early.

I am in process but not getting anywhere

fast, trying to figure out what to do with

my mantle.  lol  Hubby has been putting

snow on the tree, which is really nice and

I have been printing some new Christmas

cards I made.........in between putting up a

few things here and there.  My creativity

seems to be more towards Christmas cards

than decor the last few days. Hoping that

changes soon.............lol

Pictures today are from past Christmas Decor.

2020 to be exact!  Yea, the year our world

changed...................

So on with my Thankfuls...............

#1

Thankful for a quiet and restful day today, we did nothing

but read, pray, eat leftovers, nap and watch TV to try

and find out about the hostages in Israel, and watch a few

good programs.  After 5 days of a lot of activity this girl

is spent........so as much as we miss our loves.....we needed

this day of rest.  Hopefully tomorrow we will be

rejuvenated again............

#2

Thankful we got a lot done in our shop today (Friday),

and finished up about a half dozen various cards to add.

Have more to go, but hoping to finish all that, so we can

start on doing the Christmas decorations come Monday.

#3

Thankful we got more things done in our shop today (Sat.)

Have a few more things to do, as we are transitioning

from Thanksgiving Cards to Christmas Cards.

#4

Thankful for all the leftovers we had from Thanksgiving

as it has made dinners easy the last few days as we have

been trying to get our shop work  done and to eat all this

food.  lol  That is one of the benefits of hosting!!

#5

Thankful for a good day at church and another good

sermon by one of our young Pastors.

#6

Thankful we got to go out to lunch with our friends to

Cheddars.  It was really good too.  The last time we

went there I did not like my food too much, so was

a lil hesitate to go, but the  food was super good today,

and so was the fellowship.

#7

Thankful for a good Monday with lil darling,

she had just one thing to do school wise today.

So she was a big help to her Grammy taking

down Fall decorations,  they are all down just

still packing them away.  We also got the furniture

rearranged with Grampys help, and did get to

set up our nativity as well.

#8

Thankful that all our Fall decor is neatly

packed and put away until next Fall.

#9

Thankful for our first fire in the fireplace

this year.  So pretty and so nice to have cool

enough weather to burn it.  We are at 42 degrees

tonight,  but we will only have a few days of this

at the most,  if that..........lol   and it is rarely

this cold in November and even December

most of the time.  lol

So we are loving it...............

#10

Thankful we have all our Christmas stuff in

the house, and some of it unpacked, and the tree

is up..... just nothing on it yet.  Now I am

contemplating what to do to our mantle.

#11

Thankful for a nice long phone call with our

Daughter today.  Missing each other and

wishing we could be together,  but that is life.

Have to remind myself that one day when

we get to heaven we will have all the time

together we want............

#12

Thankful for the things we did get accomplished

today, and that we ran to the grocery store

and went to our new fav Mexican restaurant.

It was yummy.

That's all for this week at Cozy Place

Always happy you could come by.

Have a fun time decorating or doing

fun Christmas activities.

Love, Hugs, and

Merry Christmas Blessings,

Nellie

Scripture Sunday

Giving Thanks to God even when you don't feel like it......

is a powerful thing to do.......because He tells us in scripture

to give thanks in all things, (1Thessalonians 5:18) and I

truly believe it is more for our benefit than His...

and when we do thank Him,

we reap the benefits of that.  Giving Thanks to God

will absolutely revolutionize your life, it definitely has

revolutionized my life so much, as it trains our minds

to look for the good instead of the bad, and I would

recommend anyone to give it a try.  Just start off

with thanking Him for just one or two things a day,

and then after you make that a habit, move to

3 or 4 things, until it becomes a daily practice.

That's one of the reasons I do a Thankful Thursday post

every week, as it keeps me aware and looking for things

to be thankful for, and there truly is always something

to be thankful for.  You don't have to feel thankful

you just have to do it, and you do it because

He tells us to......It is a thank offering to God.

I would challenge you to give it a try for at least

a month.

Trust me, you won't be sorry if you give it a try!!

Hugs,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday November 23, 2023, and Anniversary and Thanksgiving table flowers

 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name.

Psalm 100:4 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you all had a delightful and meaningful

Thanksgiving that left your heart full of joy.

We had a great time with our family this week,

and our hearts are full of joy.........Our kids from

S Carolina had to leave to go to her In-Loves

home tonight about 7pm. so everyone left then,

but we had the whole day together which was

awesome, but of course, we never like to see

them go............lol.......but we know we have to

share them.............lol  It is only right!!

Photos today are of my Anniversary roses

Loved the Fall colors and there were so many

I took some and made a small arrangement

for my kitchen as well.  Also, added in our

Pics of Carnations that I used for our

 Thanksgiving table.

So on with my Thankfuls.............

#1

Thankful for a great day schooling with lil darling.

She had a ton of work and a literature project to

do today (Friday).....but was so diligent and on task,

and got almost all of it done, so will only have about

30 mins. or less of work on the Monday after

Thanksgiving. Her literature project came out

really well too.  So proud of her.

#2

Thankful for you Sweet Friends,
all those that faithfully come by to visit  and those
that drop by whenever they can.
Just knowing you visit.....
is an encouragement to keep on blogging.

#3
Thankful I was able to wrap Christmas gifts for our
kids that live in S.Carolina.....so they can take them
home with them when they leave after Thanksgiving.
Since they want be able to be here for Christmas
this year.  Another thing off my do before the kids
arrive list!!  lol

#4
Thankful that it looks like very low chances of rain for
this next week,  which is good since the kids will be here,
and since we had nothing but rain all last week.
It was good to see the sun today (Sat) I have to say!!

#5
Thankful that I found beautiful carnations for
our Thanksgiving table that were the perfect
colors.  Can't wait to arrange them.

#6
Thankful for another great day at church.
It was a beautiful glorious sunshiny drive there
and got to see both young men who I met last week,
one was very chatty, the other one not, but that's okay.
but at least he knows we are a friendly church and
somone remembered his name. Also another great
 message this morning

#7
Thankful for Taco Bell for lunch.  It was so good
cause we haven't had it since we were at my Daughters
in October.  She has one 5 mins from her house.  We
are getting one close to us hopefully soon,  it is all built
and they are hiring but it has been weeks now.
 so looking forward to it............

#8
Thankful our Daughter, Son-in-love, and furry
Grandson Dog Bentley are headed our way and
should be in around 4P.M.  - So Excited!!
Note:  They made it in safe and sound.

#9
Thanfkul that we all got to go out shopping
together for a lil while and to Dinner at
Olive Garden to celebrate our Son-in-loves
birthday which isn't until January but we
want be with him then, and they don't have
an olive garden near by which is one of his
fave places.

#10
Thankful that all the food is prepared for
our Thanksgiving brunch and Dinner.  We
had a easy snack dinner tonight with cold
cuts and rolls and spinach dip, and chips,
and a veggie tray,  and watched a comedian
we all love and watched Elf or most of it,
Had a few things to finish up in the kitchen,
but saw most of it, course, we have seen it
a number of times already.  But it is one of
our favorite Christmas movies.  It was a fun
night............

#11
Thankful that we have had such nice weather
this last 5 days.  It was cool enough to open
the french doors and sit out on the porch.
A perfect 70 degrees for Thanksgiving!!

#12
Thankful Thankful Thankful for the great
time we had with our family this week, and all
the good food we were able to partake of.....
Our hearts are full to overflowing even tho,
we are really tired, it's been a great time and
a great way to be tired...........lol

Scripture Sunday

Does anyone else recognize this version of the Lord's Prayer??
The verses are found in Matthew 6:9-14 just don't know what
version this is that I learned.  Should of looked it up,
Sorry...........maybe King James Version.

Anyway, what a wonderful reminder to the children and the teacher's
to lift up this prayer every morning, so many years ago in our schools, and I feel our Father in Heaven definitely heard us when we prayed and delivered us from evil.......

We sure need to get back to our roots....

 Anybody with me on that!!

Love and Blessings,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday November 16, 2023, and Modern Romantic Fall table from the past

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live Deuteronomy 30:19 NIV

Greetings Sweet Peas,

Hi, hope this finds you having a good week,

ours has been good.....good and rainy!!  lol

and very gloomy, looks like Winter but it

is just a wee bit cooler is all. Hope you are

coming along well with your plans for

Thanksgiving.......I am very happy that I have

gotten most of the things done on my before

the kids come list, so that we can just enjoy

the time and not have too much to do.

Praying that happens for you too!!

Pictures today are from a Fall Birthday Table

from the Past but could also work as a Thanksgiving

table too.  I am still looking for ideas myself, but

starting to get it nailed down.

                              So on with my Thankfuls

#1

Thankful for a new bag of "Caramel Vanilla"

coffee that my Daughter put me on to.....it

is good with just cream and sugar, but it is

especially good when you use caramel

creamer with it as well. Um Um!!

#2

Thankful that I got a # of things off my

before the kids come, Thanksgiving to do list today!!

Got the table settings all figured out now, and

most of the food shopping done.

#3
Thankful for a new book I am reading,
It is a childrens book,  I bought it to read
cause it is a book lil darling is reading
for school, so was missing a lot of her
book as she was reading it at school
as well,  so figured if I had my own
copy that would fix that problem and
make it where I could be more helpful
with questions and stuff she needed to
answer since I had the whole story.
It's actually a very good, cute and
funny book,  and I can see why she
likes it so much now...........

#4

Thankful we accomplished phase 2 of our

porch cleaning adventure.  We have a pretty

large porch, so we decided to try something

new this time, so we didn't have to lug every

thing on the porch outside.  We just put it all

down on one end, and then pressure washed

the other side.  So next time we will move it to

the other end  and do the same.  Think we will

need a phase 4 which will be putting all the

 stuff back in place.  lol

We saw on the weather that we are supposed

to get a lot of rain this next week!! Yikes

#5

Thankful for an impromptu invite from our

new friends on Sat. evening, unfortunately we

couldn't go, but it was sweet they asked and we

will def get together soon, as we have hardly

seen them since they had their new grandson,

as they have really needed to help out a lot,

and they are thrilled to be able to....

#6

Thankful for a good day at church and for

our other young Pastor who brought the

message, and did a great job as always.

Also thankful for meeting 2 young men who

are new to our church.....one was familiar and

said he has attended off and on over the years

and is a new believer growing in his faith.  He

was so sweet,  they both seemed a bit nervous,

and the other one was younger, and knew I had

never seen him before, so welcomed him and

introduced myself, he was quiet and didn't

really know what to say but did respond when

I asked his name and seemed surprised by my

greeting him, and I couldn't help but notice he

had cut marks all up and down his arms, so I am

very thankful  he came to our church as I have

heard that people who cut themselves are in a

great deal of emotional pain, so he is in the

right place, and definitely seems to need

someone to love on him a bit. I think we are

gonna see more and more young people

coming, as I have heard in other places that

the Lord seems to really be moving among

our young people especially Generation Z.

#7

Thankful we got to go out to lunch with our

friends who called in #5, as our other friends

could not go today, so it made it so we could go

out to lunch together. We had a lovely time

catching up. They are really great folks.

#8

Thankful for hot showers when you are

tired and achy, and how rejuvenating

they are........feel like a new woman!!

#9

Thankful for 2 sweet notes we rec'd from our new

friends we went to lunch with on Sunday.  He sent

one to hubby and she sent one to me. Never had

that happen before, so thought it rather nice.

#10

Thankful we were able to finish phase 3 of

our porch cleaning. It has been raining every

day since we started, so we were able to get

out there Wed. and get her done before the rain

started.  So happy to have that finished.

Hopefully, we will finish phase 4 tomorrow.

Putting it all back together, and enjoying

the fruits of our labor!!  lol

Note:  Phase 4 done, porch looking great!

and thankful that our new plan of attack

worked out so well.

#11

Thankful that there were almost 300,000

people who marched on our Capital on Wed.

against anti-Semitism, and our stand for Israel..

I would have never known about it if we did

not watch our news on TBN or CBN.

#12

Thankful hubby had a good report from the

dentist on his cleaning visit. Always so nice

to get a good report from the Dr. or Dentist.

Well, that's it for Cozy Place this week

Hope you have a lovely week ahead!

Love, Hugs and
mid November Blessings,
Nellie
