Thankful Thursday April 20, 2023, Our Easter Table 2023

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let them say among the nations,
 “The LORD reigns!”
1 Chronicles 16:31 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

How are ya??  Hope this finds you doing well
and having a great week. Been a good week
here so far. We were happy to hear from some
sweet folks this week that we love......but sorta
felt they didn't act like they wanted anything
to do with us for some reason.  Anyway, they
wrote a letter to us and to other friends, and
explained they have just been going through
some really horrific things that they did not
have the freedom to talk about, so they were
pretty much keeping to themselves because
of it.
Was so sorry to hear all they have gone
through and are continuing to go through,
but at least we know why they were keeping
away and understand now how we can
pray for them, and hopefully help to
encourage or minister to them.
So important to be praying for those you
know and love because it just seems like
so many people are going thru so many
hard things.

Now on to brighter things..........lol

Pictures today are from our Easter Table this year.
My Inspiration was this cool paper table runner,
that I happened on when I was looking for some
wrapping paper that I might could use on the table,
so it was a pleasant surprise. Didn't even know
they made these.........I am a pastel girl, so
these colors just make my heart sing.

So on with my Thankfuls.................

#1
Thankful for our home.....do you ever just walk through your house and feel overwhelmed with how much you love your home, and feel so blessed to live there with those you love, and to be able to welcome and enjoy
those who don't, into your home.

#2
Thankful for a bunch of cards I finally had time
to make this week.  About 9 I think it was!
Love when I get in those creatives moods.

#3
Thankful that my Daughter and
Son-in-love are doing better today.
 They got some very disturbing
News about their beloved doggie.
Today they have made a plan that
seems good, and hopefully things
will turn out better than they
sound right now.

#4
Thankful that my hubby (my Hero) was
able to get my computer up and running
again.  We lost power for less than 5 mins.
and it crashed our hard drive. and we had
a lot of work we'd done on their this week
that was not yet backed up.  So we are
praising the Lord, that we didn't lose
anything!

Can you spot the tiny bunny!

#5
Thankful, especially  that we didn't lose the
9 new cards I made, and that hubby had put
 in our shop this week.

#6
Thankful for how the Lord knows just how to
hook you up with the right person to talk to,
It was so neat, our new friend called and
shared a medical situation she was having,
and was asking for prayer, and my daughter
had the same situation not too long ago, so
I was able to pray for her and share that,
and think it set her mind at rest.
then I asked her to pray for My Daughters
dog and that story, and she had some similiar
problems with her dog and was able to give
me some information that was quite helpful
and prayed for Bentley (the dog) as well.
Also for hubby to be able to fix my computer
 and for his spider bite.
Love how the Lord does that!!

#7
Thankful for a good day at church
and that one of our students in
missionary training did the sermon
this morning, his first time, and he
did a great job.  He is a very
impressive young man, he and his
wife actually and both are very
 humble.  Thankful for lunch out
afterwards, and a quick trip to
wally world to get a new surge
protector for my computer, so
what happened earlier this week
hopefully doesn't happen again.
We had one on there.....
but guess it was tired!!  lol

#8 and 9
Thankful that a friend of ours brought us
some cream (gel really) for hubby's spider bite,
It's called Medihoney, it's the same thing
they use in the hospital for wounds and
burns. Just put some on so see if it does
a better job than the Manuka honey
 we've been using.
And Very Thankful for friends that
care and have been praying!!

Note:  His wound is coming along and
the honey has definitely helped, along
with antibiotic ointment as well, but
it takes awhile, but we are definitely
seeing improvement and feel like the
infection may be all cleared up here
soon. Parts of the wound are healing
which is good.  We still aren't sure
it was a spider bite, cause he never
even knew how it happened, but
after looking at images of spider bites
we came to the conclusion that must
be what it was..............

#10
Thankful to hear lil darling had a great
time on her Spring break from school.
Now just a few weeks or so till she is
out of school for the Summer!  We
are looking forward to that....

#11
Thankful for a fun day of schooling
and cause we got done earlier, I had
more time to have a lot of fun with
lil darling.

#12
Thankful for the fruit of the spirit that God
cultivates in the lives of Believers.
 Love, Joy, Peace, Patience,  kindness,
goodness, long suffering, gentleness,
 faithfulness and Self Control.
 ( Galatians 5:22-23)
It tends to help make some wonderful
human beings!!  and if we know Jesus
we should all be growing in them
more and more each day.

Well, that's it for today.

Thanks for dropping by
and
Have and Amazing rest of the week.

And Eat some Candy,
it will make you happy!!  lol

Love, Hugs and
Mid April Blessings,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday April 13, 2023, More Spring Decorating in the Dining room

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living
hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1 Peter 1:3 NIV

                                     Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you and yours had a lovely
        Easter celebrating with your family
and/or friends.  We had a great time.
and it's been a good week here.  We
have gotten quite a bit of rain, which
was definitely needed, nice to see our
            Yard looking so much greener!

            Pictures today are of more
                   Spring Decorating in
Cozy Place Dining Room.

    Now....On with my Thankfuls

#1
Thankful for a fun day and night
out.  Went to see the "Journey"
movie in the late afternoon, then
to Sams and Wally World to get
things we need for Easter Dinner.
Then out to dinner at Longhorns.

The scenery in the movie was
incredibly beautiful!!  As was
some of the music,  I am not
too into opera....lol

  #2

Thankful for Benadryl cream....lil darling

had to leave school early because she broke

out with some sort of itchy rash in several

places, so on the way to school her Mom

picked up some Bendadryl cream and it

cleared it right up.....such a quick fix.

#3

Thankful to have lil darling today.

We are schooling but having fun too,

when we take breaks.

#4
Thankful that our Daughter and Son-
in-love got  more good news about
the situation they have been going
through, and we think it will all
be over within the next few weeks
hopefully.  We will all be singing
the Halleleujah chorus for sure.

#5
Thankful for some very useful info
that we have learned this passed week.
That you can have all your credit bureaus
(Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union)
frozen, so they can not give out info
to anyone checking your credit info.
It is a great defense against identity
theft, and you can have them unfreeze
it anytime within a day or so, and it
does not affect your use of your
credit card. You can unfreeze it and
then have them freeze it again from
what we understand. Thought this
was great info to pass on.........
as we have done it and our other
family members are doing it too.
Should you decide you would like
to do that be sure to check it out for
yourself and ask all the pertinent
questions so that you can be assured
it would work for you. Just in case
we have misunderstood something,
altho, I don't think we have, but
you never know these days!

NOTE: We did find out we have to
do it both for husband and wife
if you have a joint account. So it's
was more time consuming since we  didn't know and had to do it twice.
Telling you just so you know to
do it all at once. Cause you have
to do it thru the automated
system, which is quite annoying
and confusing.......lol

#6
Thankful for a great time with the
family celebrating Easter.  Good
Vittles, Good Games and thankful
hearts for all our Savior has done
for us.  We always miss our
 Daughter and Son-in-love tho.

#7
Thankful for a beautiful Easter Service
and then lunch after at Carrabbas
just hubby and me, since we had
the family over on Saturday.
and Now for a nap.

#8
Thankful for Easter candies, jelly beans, malted milk balls, M&M's Plain and Peanut, they are not only yummy they are just the prettiest colors for Easter.

#9
Thankful most of all that we serve
a Saviour who died and rose from
the dead, or we would have no reason
for faith or hope at all....
But He Has Risen!!

#10
Thankful for new things we learn.
I just recently read somewhere about
the correct way to peel a banana, but
forgot to try it, then I was making a
smoothie while on the phone with
my Daughter recently, she told me
about it and said it works, so I tried
it and it works great.  They say it's
the way monkeys peel banana's rather
than peeling from the stem, peel from
the bottom up and most all the strings
come off at the same time.  Cool!
Who says an old dog can't learn new
tricks, as the old saying goes!! lol

The only thing I did in the kitchen this year!

#11
Thankful for a wonderful dish
called "Beef Stroganoff", I was
introduced to it when I was 18
years old by my Mother-in-law
to be. It is my hubbies all time
favorite dish.  I made it for his
birthday but we only got to have
it once, as we gave it away as we
left for my Daughters the next day.
 So had leftover London Broil
from Easter, so guess what we
made.  lol  Don't think I have
ever shared it on my blog,
so will have to do that soon.

#12
Thankful that hopefully we have turned
a corner on what we think is a spider
bite on hubbies lower back. We have
been dressing it and using triple anti-
biotic cream and manuka honey. It
is looking like most of the infection
is clearing up now, and the area
seems to be getting smaller, both
good signs...........
Also, thankful it has not been very
painful for him.

That's  All  Folks............

Hope you have a Wonderful
rest of the week.

Thanks for coming by

Thankful Thursday April 6, 2023, and Spring at our House

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

Psalm 107:1 NIV

Good Morning, Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you doing well, and

hopefully getting ready for Easter.

That has certainly been a part of

our week, and will continue to be

until Sunday.

Picture today are from Cozy Place............

and what I was doing all last week.  lol

So late on my Spring/Easter decor

this year, but better late than never,

as the old saying goes....We look like

bunny heaven....I definitely know that

Easter is all about celebrating what Jesus

did for us on the cross, and His rising

from the dead, to give us eternal life,

Praise His Name!

and not about Bunnies and Eggs but

that lil girl in me just loves how

cute they and they make my

heart happy!!

Do you have a favorite thing or things

you like to use for spring decorating

 that makes your heart happy??

So on with my Thankfuls.....

#1

Thankful for a fun night out with hubby,

had to take some things back that didn't fit,

and bought a couple of others that are hopefuls.

Then out to dinner to celebrate my birthday

to Red Robins.  We had never been there

before, so that was fun to go somewhere

new,  we wound up getting fish and chips

and it is a gourmet Hamburger place.

Next time we will get a Hamburger.  lol

#2

Thankful I have gotten a lot of decorating

done in the last few days, will be happy

to finish up hopefully tomorrow.

A view with the lights out.

Couldn't get a complete shot of the fireplace
cause our treadmill was in the way.  LoL
So here's the hearth!

#3

Thankful for a birthday present that showed

up 2 days late that made my heart sing.

I had seen these hot pink pumps that just

ran away with my heart but didn't want to

spend so much when I wasn't sure if I had

something to wear them with. Sometimes

I am just too practical for my own good. lol

They just kept following me everywhere when

I would go online too.  Anyway it happened

when I was at my Daughters house too.

So she got them for me for my birthday

and at a much better price!!  and I was

just so surprised!!  Just love them!

Wore them on Sunday and felt like

clicking my heels together and saying

Auntie Em, Auntie Em......lol

#4

Thankful for something I read on some

ones blog on Friday.  It is an excerpt

from a book called "Micro Joys"

or something like that.

Very Interesting and I feel very true.

#5

Thankful for a sweet find in my kitchen sink.

It was my first micro Joy after reading

that excerpt from the book I mentioned

above. It was a twig  that looked like a cross

and I have no idea how it got there, but it

was a sweet reminder that my Lord is near.

#6

Thankful that I am finished decorating

for Spring.  Might make a few tweaks

here and there but pretty much done

done done........Can you hear me

singing the Halleleujah chorus.  lol

Not that I didn' t enjoy it, but I was

so behind just happy to be getting

caught up.........lol

#7

Thankful that I can now move on to

others things that need my attention.

#8

Thankful for the lovely birthday card

from my Daughter.  It was later than

expected but cool that it came late

because it was like a gift in and of itself.

#9

Thankful for a good day at church,

and a nice lunch with my Hubby, Son

and Granddaughter, at a new Mexican

restaurant we have been wanting to try,

and then home for a lovely Raspberry

Elegance cake from Publix for dessert

and my Sil Susan joined us.

We played some Charades and Wii bowling.

Had a great time and got the most precious

card from my Son and Granddaughter.

Great Day!!

So I wound up having like a 5 days

of birthday celebration.

#10

Thankful for our churches Easter

program Sunday night, and having

some new friends over for cake

and coffee. Great Evening!!

#11

Thankful that we think we have

caught some situations that are

looking like identity theft possibly.

We have fraud protection, and they

have let us know everyday, for about

5 days now that someone is inquiring

on us at the credit bureau. Think they

are trying to get a credit card. So

they put a fraud alert on it, but that

didn't stop it, so they said we can

freeze our acct. So we have frozen

it now so they hopefully can't give

out any information. This is really

a great safe guard for anyone!

We never knew it existed before now.

This lil lamb has been around since lil darling

was born, "It plays this lil light of mine" in

a childs voice and it's ears wiggle and used

to clap it's hands too.  So cute.

#12

Thankful that I have figured out

our Easter dinner menu, I am going

for Easy this year, cause I am just

worn out......Decided on London Broil

on the grill, Mashed Sweet Potatoes

(with sour cream in them), and my

rendition of a BH&G's Succotash

Salad which is delicious and different.

See the recipe here if you'd like.

Easter table is  now in progress.....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, that's it for Cozy Place this week.
Thanks for coming by
and
We wish you and yours
The Most Wonderful
