Welcome to Thankful Thursday - December 16, 2010

Suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude
of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
"Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men
 with whom He is pleased."
Luke 2:13-14

Welcome Sweet Friends,

Hope your Christmas Season and
 Spirit are alive and well!

Know everyone is busy preparing
for the Big Birthday Celebration
of our Lord!

My...... I have seen some Lovely
 and Delightful decorations that just
add such Fun to this time of the year.
You all are truly a chip off the old
block (no disrespect intended at all)
but..........so creative just like your
Father in Heaven and having such
sweet spirits that He so desires for us!!

Which would lead me to my
#1 Thankful.

#1
I am thankful
for each of you and the sweet and
creative spirits you posess because
of your relationship with the Lord.
You shine for Him through your
blogs of creativity, compassion,
ideas and testimonies for Him, and
friendships and I just love it!!

#2
I am thankful
for a nice day out today.  We
needed it,  we had cabin fever
and it was just a delightful day
to be out,  perfect weather,
about 58 degrees.

#3
I am thankful
we had enough $$ left on 2 gift
cards to go to Outback steakhouse
for din din, and it even covered the tip!!
and the food was..............
so awesome!!  lol
and we even got to visit with friend
of my daughters who works there,
she is such a cutie and a sweetie.

#4
I am thankful
for the appreciation that times like
these afford us.  We tend to take
so many things for granted,  like going
out to dinner for instance, but when you
don't have that freedom all the time........
you really savor the experience and
it just makes you all the more grateful.

Just in case you are new to my blog and wondering times
like what??  My hubby has been laid off since the middle
of  May!!  But not to worry........the Lord is taking
excellent care of us, but of course, we have had to
tighten our belts so to speak!!  lol

#5
I am thankful
that I had good results on 2 routine
ladies tests recently.  That is always
wonderful to hear,  and makes me
thankful for my health.

#6
I am thankful
I have an appt. with the chiropractor
on Friday,  cause my neck is acting
up just a lil,  so hopefully, this visit
will take care of that!!  It has really
been sooooooo much better.

#7
I am thankful
for Dayspring free ecards.  I love
to send them,  and I also love to
receive them. They are just a super
quick, fun and inspirational way
to let someone know you are
thinking about them!!
An old and dear friend wrote this poem and gave it to us,
about 5 years ago, It is called the Gift.  It is really a beautiful
poem.and a true gift from the heart!!  You can click on it
to read it, if you would like.

#8
I am thankful
for a quick treat that Bonnie over
at One Designing woman shared
on her blog a week or so ago.
You put a rolo candy on top of a
pretzel, and put them in the oven
for 3 mins. @ 350 degrees, when
you take them out just push a
whole pecan into the rolo.  It
want look all that melted until
you push the pecan in.
Those babies are delicious and
sooooooooo easy!!
We love love love them!!
Of Course, make sure you take
the tin foil off the Rolo first!! lol

Just figured I should add that disclaimer, cause you know....
there are some people who still don't know coffee is hot,  and
sue McDonalds.......so just  want to cover myself!!   lol
Course, doubt any of them would be reading
my blog!!  lol

#9
I am thankful
that we finally got our tree up
and all decorated and it looks
so pretty.  I so enjoy watching
the lights on it at night,  I find
it very relaxing to sit  quietly
with the lights out and just
drink it in!!
( I will show you a pic soon, the tree is now
sitting where this table was sitting,
and this table is now behind our sofa
just like it is minus the lamp!!)

#10
I am thankful
for Scott and Megan's sweet and
generous spirit.  He received a $75.00
gift card for the Honey Ham Store as
a Christmas present from his boss and
gave it to us to use for Christmas
or whenever we wanted.
What a sweet blessing that was!!

We usually have Ham for our New
Year's Celebration....so think we
will save it for that occasion and
also cause they will be able to be
here to enjoy it as well.
They aren't able to be with us for
Christmas dinner,  since we will have
them earlier in the day for brunch,
then they go to visit her family in
the afternoon sometime.

( I loved this Christmas card we rec'd several years
back, it went perfectly with the Gift vignette)

#11
I am thankful
for Christmas Musicals, programs
and movies that just add to the
festivities and warmth of the
Christmas Season.
We so enjoyed our Christmas
musical this passed Sunday,
and have watched a few
+mas movies already:
An old Fashioned Thanksgiving,
not really about Christmas but
sure could have been, it certainly
encompasses the warmth and
love of the Christmas season.

The polar Express is a wonderful
and charming movie with meaning.

A Christmas Carol,
with George C. Scott as Scrooge
a timeless classic.

#12
I am thankful
for the peace, love and Joy that
we can hold in our hearts no matter
the happenings of our life,  all
because of Jesus and His great
love for us!!
What a friend we have in Jesus!!

Well, Sweet friends,
These are the matters of my
heart..................
and I trust you have some too!

Why not share them!!

May you have a Joyous and Peaceful
Christmas
filled with the Love of Christ!!

Table Top Tuesday

Morning Sweet Friends,

How are you today????

I am feeling like this today.......lol

since it was 25 degrees this morning!!
 I know, I know
some of you up North are in much
colder weather than this, and my
heart really goes out to you, but....
this is pretty chilly for Florida and
we don't have a lot of real heavy
clothes for this type of weather!!
But then again,  our 25 degree
weather isn't going to last either,
it will be below freezing tonight
as well, then get a tad warmer!!
I really hope we have some cold
weather for Christmas tho!!
That makes it feel more like
Christmas anyway!!

We had a very nice weekend.
Just worked on decorating the
house and on Christmas stuff
mostly,  then we had our annual
Christmas Musical at church
Sunday evening, and what a
delightful presentation it was.
It really makes you more mind-
ful of what the season is really
all about,  just wonderful!!
Scott and Megan were able
to go with us,  and come over
after for pizza and goodies,
so that was a joy!!

Got to see Megan's Wedding
dress online - She is gonna be
gorgeous in that gown!!

Here is a pic of the Happy couple,
meant to include it when I did her
birthday celebration post.

The Wedding date is set....
May 13th, 2011

Decided to join the Tabletop Tuesday
party today since most of you only
have time for looking at pics anyway.
So thought I would share my fire
place decor with you!!

Sorry for the sequence these are in,
but I have still not figured out this
wierd photo loader. It seems like
it never puts pic where they are
suppose to go!!
So I am just gonna go with it!!

Forgot to put some logs in the
fireplace before I took these shots.
Oh Well........don't have time to fool
with it but it would look nicer!

Love this lil girl,  put her
on the hearth for a change.

This is on each end of the Mantle.

Put a posterized affect on this one.

This one has a paint daubs and
posterized affect.  I like that it
makes it have sort of a
whimsical affect.

Regular Photo!

Same photo Posterized.
Can you tell this is one of my favs.
I love that it gives that
 irredescent quality.

I love using poinsettia's to decorate
our home!! Especially in the years
since our house flooded and the
walls are a blue tinged white!
Am hoping to change that in the
New Year sometime to a butter
cream yellow!!

This has an equalized affect.

These stocking were made 33 years
ago by a lady I babysat for as a teenager.
It was a baby gift when I had Scott!!
They look just as beautiful as the day
we got them!!

This stocking is actually longer
than it looks,  somehow the
camera makes it look distorted.

Hope you are enjoying your
Christmas Season!!

Thanks for coming by.....
love hearing from you!!

Make sure to go over to visit
Marty at a stroll thru life to
see all Wonderfully Creative
Christmas Ideas!!

Have A Wonderful Christmas Season
Sweet Friends!!

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - December 9, 2010

(Compliments of http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/)

 I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart ;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
Psalm 9:1

Christmas Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you are enjoying this special
time of the year!!  I am sure you
are busy,  but make sure to take
some time to really savor the Season!

I am reading a book called "The purpose
of Christmas"  by Pastor Rick Warren.
It's a lil small book and a great reminder
of why we celebrate Christmas!

I have also been working on Christmas
gifts,  and am happy they are coming
out well.   Shew!!  lol
and I am about done!!

It has also been a great week for my
hubby which makes me so happy for
him and of course, this is
my
 #1
 Thankful
I am thankful
that hubbies old boss signed him
up to go to a seminar with him.
They went yesterday and the first
session he learned some really great
info that will help him with his business
he is working on,  and he also learned
other things as the day went on.
Not surprised really!!

#2
I am thankful
for answered prayer....... we knew
they were having give aways at the
seminar,  things like Ipods and Ipads.
So I prayed all day that if there was
something he needed for his business
that the Lord would let him win it!
and He did!!  He won the last and
most expensive giveaway!!

At first, he didn't know what it was
but it turned out to be a drive for
your computer that will protect you
from losing any information should
your hard drive go out on your computer.
Something you would definitely want
if you have a business but didn't even
know about!!  How cool is that!!
God is sooo good!!

#3
I am thankful
that hubby finally finished what he
has been working on and was able
to take the next step the Lord has
directed him to take.
Now hopefully,  the Lord will give
us a new directive!!
I find He sort of unrolls things like
a scroll....a lil at a time!!
That's probably so He doesn't scare
us to death!!  lol

#4
I am thankful
for a surprise package that came in
the mail last Friday.  It was from a
sweet lil gal that I have had the
priviledge to encourage and mentor
over the last 2 years after her
husband left her with 3 children.

It was a really neat lil gadget
designed to make a quick cup of
tea.  You put loose tea inside
and pour in hot water and let it
steep for 3 mins. then just put
it on top of your cup and it drains
a nicely steeped tea into your
mug.  It came with a nice
 assortment of teas as well.
Sweet!!
Been drinking lots of tea!! lol

#5
I am thankful
for another Sweet surprise we rec'd on
Sat. morning.  A gift of Yankee Candles
that we rec'd from the lil couple we have
been working with since last March along
 with a sweet Christmas card.
These special surprises meant so much
to us I guess because of the people
they came from!!

#6
I am thankful
for the wonderful time we had shopping
with a sweet lady at the Toybox ministry,
last Friday. It was truly a blessing to us
and to her.  We know her well, so it was
fun being with her.  We even went out
to eat together afterwards.

#7
I am thankful
that I know how to read and write.
I was just reading earlier about some
one who said they couldn't read when
they were younger and had learned
late in life by reading the Bible.
How neat is that!!

#8
I am thankful
Sam's wholesale got in some more
red velvet cheesecakes.  Hubby had
spied them back at Thanksgiving
but we weren't sure we could fit it
in the freezer with all the other things
for Thanksgiving.........
then went back last week and they
were all gone...........
they got more in this week!! Yeah!!
Hubby was really wanting that
for christmas dessert.

#9
I am thankful
for delightful Christmas music.....
it just makes me happy everytime
I hear it!!  It is just such a blessing!!

#10
I am thankful
for heating and a nice warm cozy
bed during these nights we have
 gone to freezing!

#11
I am thankful
that Becky over at Holday in the Sun
had plastic snow and brought it to
me for my Christmas tree!!
I have been looking everywhere for
some........and since we have a faux
tree I just didn't think it was gonna
look too good without it,  so I am
ecstatic over that snow!!  lol

#12
I am thankful
for all the lil and big ways God shows
me that He loves me and cares about
every detail of my life.
Doesn't get any better than that!!
~~~~~~~~
Thanks so much for coming by
and for your sweet comments,
You are a blessing!!
I pray that you might have a
Christmas Season so full of the
Love of Christ
that it blows your socks off!
Love, Hugs and Blessings,
Nellie
Happy Sunday Morning Sweet Friends, Have a Wonderfully Blessed Day! Hugs, Nellie
