Hope you have had a very good 
week.

Mine has been good, fairly uneventful, 
which is fine with me.  Just enjoying the cooler
weather,  putzing around, and reading a lot.

So on with Thankful Thursday........

I am thankful

for this wonderful true story I saw this morning,

it is so precious it made me cry ....so get your hanky.

  Just had to share it,  would have put a link but since 

it was on yahoo news figured it would be gone quick,

since it is Good News..................lol

Tennessee Homecoming King Nominees Give Crown to Another Teen

  Three Tennessee homecoming king nominees made a unanimous and touching decision that no matter who won, they would give the crown to a beloved student with a genetic condition.

  
  

  Students Jesse Cooper, Drew Gibbs and Zeke Grissom were all nominated for homecoming king at Community High School's basketball homecoming ceremony.

  The teens got together and decided that the winner would turn over the honor to junior Scotty Maloney, who has Williams Syndrome, a neurological disorder that inhibits learning and speech.

  "I've been blessed with so many things," Cooper told ABC News' Nashville affiliate WKRN-TV. "I just wanted Scotty to experience something great in his high school days."

  "He's always happy, so he deserves some recognition for who he is," Gibbs said.

  Cooper won the popular vote for king, but when the official announcement was made at a Friday ceremony, the principal told the crowd what the nominees had decided to do.

  "When they called [Scotty's] name, his eyes got really big and I don't know that he registered exactly what was happening. He knew something was," Maloney's teacher Liz Hestle Gassaway told ABCNews.com. "It was very, very emotional."

  The crowd erupted with cheers and Maloney got a long standing ovation, WKRN reported, as he was awarded his "King" medal.

  "It was just a ton of emotion from everybody," Grissom told WKRN. "I think I saw Scotty shed a few tears. I know Jesse was pretty emotional. We were all emotional out there on the court."

  Maloney is a beloved teen in his school and in the community, Gassaway said.

  "Scotty is fabulous. He is a superstar. He knows everybody. There's not one person that Scotty does not know," she said. "To know him and meet him is to love him."

  Gassaway believes that the nearly 500-student school in Unionville, Tenn., is "one of the best schools in the world when it comes to dealing with special needs children."

  Students like Cooper help out in special needs gym classes and other activities. Gassaway said the boys' gesture toward Maloney sent a greater message.

  "We want people to have more empathy towards people, not be scared of people with disabilities," she said. "We want them to embrace them, more like the boys did."

  Next year Maloney will get to crown the school's new homecoming king. But for now, he is proudly sporting his medal everywhere he goes.

  "He's been wearing his medal around," Gassaway said with a laugh. "He is not here today because he had a doctor's appointment, but I'm sure he has his medal on."

  I am thankful

  that I have been off the Ibuprofen for over a week

  now, and am pretty much back to normal, every

  once in awhile if I bend way over I can still feel

  it isn't completely gone yet, but that is a good

  I am thankful

  that I finally had time to get in my computer 

  room and work on setting up a drop leaf table

  we moved from the guest bedroom after

  Thanksgiving.  I just decided to let it sit until

  after Christmas was over and everything was

  back to normal.  It is now my work table....

  looks way better than it did,  as it still had stuff

  stacked on from the move, we exchanged it with

  an entertainment center.  it is now more 
  organized and useable.  Yeah!! 

  
  

  It is not yet in it's final destination but hope

  I am thankful

  that my friends mother who was taken to the

  hospital on Monday is showing improvement,  

  they are still doing tests,  but things are looking 
  better, and they are more encouraged.

  for God's word, because every time we read

  it there is always something new to learn or

  for soups and stews to eat when it is cold

  outside.  Made a nice pot of Beef Stew last

  that a friends Grandbaby arrived safely

  and soundly.  Mom and baby are doing well,

   and I know my friend is very relieved that

  part is all over with.  That reminds me

  that is coming soon for us too!!  lol

  I am thankful

  that Megan's baby shower is this Saturday

  and that we all get to participate and enjoy it 
  with her and her family, and also that Dee and

   I got to help out with it some.  Also thankful, 
  that she and Scott will hopefully have plenty 
  of time to finish getting all set up. The baby's
   room is pretty much ready now,  just a few
   finishing touches left to do.

  I am thankful

  that a sweet bloggy friend Sue, was not
  injured by an unexpected event, a bottle
  of cherry cordial someone had given her,
  and that she had for a long time all of a
  sudden exploded in her china hutch and
  she didn't even know it till she found the
  huge mess it made,  but fortunately she
  was not injured, and nothing else was

  I am thankful
  for all my friends, whether they are
  living near or far away or in blogland,
  you are all so inspiring and fun to get 
  to know. You all have so much talent, 
  and so much to share, and you bring a
   great deal of pleasure and delight to 
  this lady, and that is for sure, and I 
  appreciate your sweet comments that
   encourage me, and sweet prayers for
   me at times when I have needed them
   as well.

  I am thankful

  for my new hygenist recommended

   oral B braun electric toothbrush. I

  have to say I always thought electric

  toothbrushes were for lazy people,

  but after trying this one,  I have to

  say my teeth do feel so much cleaner

  and it even has a timer so you brush

   for the proper length of time.

  I am thankful

  that DeeAnna is  getting to come out early on

  Sat. to have breakfast with us and visit awhile, 

  before we go to Megan's shower, haven't seen 

  her in a while, so that should be fun, and we 

  are looking forward to it.  Jerry is working

Blissful White Wednesday - Winter Living Room - Part 2

Good Morning Sweet Friends,

Wow, it is cold here this morning,  went down to 40 last

night, so we are excited, as it was cool yesterday too,

about 60,  so it feels wonderful,  today it is suppose

 to go to 71 tho, ..........then tomorrow it is going back to

 74 and on up during the rest of the week and weekend. 

 Now gotta figure out what I am wearing to the shower 

again,  since it is gonna be a rather warm 74 degrees.

So how about you.................

what is going on in your world  today?

Hope it is something fun and exciting

 or sweet and loving.

Hubby is working home today and feeling pretty

good....but he sounds horrible, so very surprised

he is feeling good..........lol

Course, with a cold as the day wears on you feel

 less and less well..............he is already starting to

feel that,  but he just ate breakfast so that should

 perk him up for a lil while.  Isn't that amazing how

 you feel so much better after you eat for a lil while 

 and then it fades away pretty quickly.

Thought I would do a Blissful White Wednesday

post so you can see how I finished off decorating

our white living room.

This wreath and header pic is technically in the foyer 

and is on the wall just in front of the door where you 

would enter my home.  I know you have seen this

wreath before, but I have learned if I love it I leave

it be............just added a new embellishment to it.,

to change it up a bit.

Isn't this the prettiest card.  You can see that in person,

but the pic doesn't capture this cute lil birdie in all his

glory...............lol

Thought this doiley looked like a snowflake so just

sort of draped it over this winter scene.

Isn't this gorgeous,  the road is all done in white glitter,

so beautiful..........and I am into a lil bling this year!

At least in this room.

I am really enjoying all these snowy winter scenes,  

they make me feel cool,  when I am having one

of my own personal tropical waves!!  lol

This is the lower first shelf of my etagere.  This silver 

mercury glass dish was my other great finds at Kohl's

 a few weeks ago.

 and look what is inside the dish.......

a lovely vanilla scent candle.............ummmmmm!!

You have seen all these pitchers before

and creamers.....they have just all been moved around to
different locations....................

Didn't change a lot here,  just added a ....can't 
think of what to call it..........a wax melter fragrance
 enhancer, how about that.  You plug her in, add 
a wax tart and she makes a wonderful
 aroma in your house.   lol

Sometimes because of the way a picture is
cropped I can actually make it really large
if I move it to the left, so that is why you
have seen some larger pics lately.
Just adds a bit more interest!!

Monday Makeover - Winter Coffee Table

Happy Tuesday 

Sweet Friends,

Seems like ages since I have posted..........

course, it really isn't, just 4 days!!  lol

So how in the world are ya??  Hope 

you had a lovely weekend and Monday.

Our weekend was lovely and a bit busier than usual,

Friday night we went to a Sunday School Social, and

Sat. since it seemed like Spring outside we did some

yard work,  and cleaned up the porch, and aired out

the house, it was so nice to be outside and to be
 accomplishing something and having fun at the same 
time and to have the windows open. The house was so 
fresh and clean smelling when we came in..............
We also watched 

"The Chronicles of Narnia", for the 2nd time,  it is

 really such a great movie.

Sunday morning was our norm but Sunday night we 

had a Brass Band Concert.  They come every year in

 Jan. and they are phenomenal,  you may have heard

of them especially if you live in the Missouri area,

"Tim Zimmerman, and the King's Brass",  

they are mostly students from the Grace Brethren

 college I think it is,  anyway, it was so enjoyable.

Monday hubby was off,  and has caught a cold, so

 we didn't do much,  however, I did make this new 

soup I found in a magazine,  it is called

"Lemon chicken soup with spinach" which I will

share with you soon.  We really liked it,  and it

was perfect for hubbies cold.  Please pray I don't

catch it, as Megan's baby shower is this Saturday,

and of course, I want to be there.

Guess I had better get on with Make Over Monday,
since I am a lil late already............lol
Thought I would show you my Winter Coffee Table.  
My header picture was one of  my new inspiration 
pieces this year............and it's place of honor was
 of course, the coffee table.  lol

Dark Reds and Blues, and Browns, with a lil white
 thrown in to brighten it up,  are my typical Winter 
Colors every year!

Had just finished off a box of Gevalia Coffee,  and

thought hey, I should do something with that cute

 box.  lol  (and by the way, that light roast coffee is

 wonderful).

So thought, hmm, what could I do with it, and

decided on some dark red roses , so stuck them

in there and seemed like it needed a lil some-

thing else, so  found a pretty white hanky  and stuck

 it in the box where the pretty embroderiery showed

 and then simple stuck the roses in..................

Can't get much easier than that!!  lol

Decided to use my blue tea tray with a gingham
napkin accent..... and I am really enjoying
my new white artichoke.

Here is the view from the backside, a lil blurry, sorry!

and came across this alabaster heart,  a gift from a
friend some years back,  and thought it was the perfect
finish.......actually I made a sign to go there,  but liked
it better on the mantle,  which I will probably show
you next week.
