Cran/Raspberry Chicken Salad Recipe

Hello Sweet Friends,

How in the world are you??
 Doing well,  I hope.

We are having a much better week thus far!! lol
My computer is still down so can't upload or down
load any new photos from hubbies lap top, so
decided to repost a really great recipe from
 July of 2010.

Does that opening pic make you hungry??

It sure does me in fact,  I might just have to
make it for din din tonight as it really is a
scrumptiously delicious salad, and we
have only had it once this summer.

So thought you might just like to try it
as well.

So here is the recipe!!

Cran/Raspberry Chicken Salad recipe
*
Romaine lettuce
*
Purple onion (or white)
*
Mozzarella cheese shredded or even
better parmesan shredded cheese
*
dried cranberries
*
Chicken breast slivers
*
fresh raspberries
*
pecans, coarsely chopped
*
This is like a whole dinner salad that you
would maybe have crackers or rolls with and
a beverage.  It is wonderful for summer.
Easy,  no heat in the kitchen,  and
did I mention yummy yum!!

Anyway, after preparing and cutting or
tearing the lettuce,  I put it on, however
many dinner plates of salad you want
to make.  Then I add all the rest of the
ingredients in the order in which they
are listed above.
*

*
Now you will need to make some poppy seed dressing.

I know it says Country French Chicken,
and that recipe is on there too,  but scroll
all the way to the bottom and you will
find the Poppy Seed Dressing recipe.
*
The salad that I modeled this after was
a salad from Bob Evans called a cranberry
Chicken salad with feta cheese,  they used
a sweet Italian Dressing, and it was delicious
but since I already had a poppy seed dressing
recipe I just decided to use that,  and we
loved it!!

Well,  Hope you enjoy this recipe,
I will be totally shocked if you don't.
Course, you have to like fruit and
some sweetness to your salad or
you might not like it.

Thanks for stopping in......
Hope you have a great week,

Hugs and
Yummy Salad Blessings,

Nellie

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - April 11, 2011

I will praise God's name in song,
and glorify him with thanksgiving.
Psalm 69:30

Evening Sweet Peas,

Hope this finds you well and happy!

It has been a good week here, a few
skirmishes here and there, but we are all
the better for it.

You will see what has been going on
here via my thankful list.

Here we go...............

#1
I am thankful
that we finally found another car last
Saturday after searching and seeing quite
a few cars these passed 61/2 weeks.
(In case you forgot or didn't know our old
one just died on his way home from work
back in February, much to our shock and
dismay, since we had just replaced our
old van the end of september, thinking the
other car would be around considerably
longer).  Course, that's how it is.....
life happens
while we are making our plans!  lol

#2
I am thankful
that hubby loves his new, to us, 2010
silver Toyota Corollo, that is so great
on gas...........This is his car,  and I am
so delighted for him, cause all our
married life he has always given me
the newer car,  so for once he has
the newer car,  so thrilled for him.

#3
I am thankful
indeed, that the search is over..........
and that is no longer hanging over our
 heads..............cause we were putting lots
of miles on our new, to us van,  and eating
up miles on the warranty.  Plus you just feel
that things are sort of unfinished, as it has
changed your routines and stuff.

#4
I am thankful
that I have my van back now, so very nice
to know that if I want to go somewhere
I can .................or I don't have to wait
till Wed. or the weekend.

#5
I am thankful
we got our taxes done,  and we don't owe
any money.  So that is always great news.

#6
I am thankful
that a little conflict in the family was quickly
resolved and back to normal.
Always a good thing...............

#7
I am thankful
that  Dee found a way for a friend of ours to
get a  much needed medical test at a fairly
reasonable price since she has no insurance.
That is such a blessing, answered prayer,
 and provision from the Lord....................

#8
I am thankful
that we get to keep Brooklyn again on
Saturday,  will be the first time at our house.
Hubby and I both are looking forward to it.

#9
I am thankful
for the yard work we got done this week,
plenty more where that came from, but
grateful for what has happened already.

#10
I am thankful
for some new recipes I found on the
Better Homes and Gardens website.
Some really great looking salads.  Once
I try them out,  if we like them,  I will
share them with you.  I am very excited
to try them.  Earlier this week I made
that Cranberry Chicken salad,  and can
not tell you how much we enjoyed it.
If you are interested,

This time I used strawberries in place
of the raspberries and shredded
parmesan cheese in place of the
mozzarella, it was even more delicious,
I think,  course, it has been a while
since we had it,  so hard to say if
that is really true..........but either way
we  luvvvvvvvvv  it!!

#11
I am thankful
for a dear sweet English friend who told me
many years ago about the movie
"Anne of Green Gables". I had never seen it,
and she said oh my, you must see it sometime,
You would love it...................

#12
I am thankful
that recently, we found out they had a
number of the Anne of Green Gables movies
on Netflix, and we have now watched 2 of them,
and I must  say we concur with what she said.
They are just simply wonderful, and captivating,
clean and sweet movies with very interesting stories,
from another time period. Anne is a great heroine,
coming from a very difficult start,  and turning into an
astoundingly wonderful and loving woman.

If you have not seen it,  don't dally.........as you will
 really enjoy them so much.......
Every time the movie ends, hubby and I just
hate that it is over.................lol

I had to come back for a thankful
 baker's dozen.  lol

#13
I am thankful
for a new food item I just found at Publix,
and you know how I love, love, love finding
new things to eat.  It is called Carribean
chicken Salad  and oh my heavens, it is
sooo good.  A real treat, I have to say.
Don't know who comes up with their recipes,
but they are delightful.

You can get it in the deli, just in case you have
a Publix grocery store near you.  It is made
with mango chutney and roasted red peppers.
I almost didn't get it cause thought what if I
don't like it,  but then thought hubby will like it
for sure, he is like the old cereal commercial,
give it to Mikey,  he eats anything!!  He and
my son are the adventurous foodies in our
family,  me and Dee are bit more picky.

Just had to tell you in case you want to
try it.   Don't think you will be disappointed!

 Well,  that completes my list..................
Hope your have a nice long list of your own.

Thanks for visiting...................please let me

know you were here,  as I am always
delighted by your comments.

Have a Good and Relaxing Rest of the week.

Love, Hugs,
and Green Gable Blessings,
Nellie

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - March 9, 2011

 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonders.
 I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
Psalm 9:1-2

Good Evening Sweet Friends,

What's been happening in your
world this week???  Something
good, something interesting,
something fun, something that
blessed your socks off!

Sure hope so!!

Have to say we have had a blessed week,
with a lil bit of not so good yesterday,
that turned into something great!

So that would bring me
to my
#1
 thankful

I am thankful
for marital conflict - that was our not so good day,
yesterday, that turned into something great.  None
of us likes conflict, do we???.....unless we are...  how
shall I say this.... emotionally not well..........lol,  but conflict
is inevitable in any relationship and quite necessary for
building intimacy and passion in a relationship, and if we
are looking to the Lord to find out what He has to teach
us through it..........we can say we are thankful for the
results of conflict especially!  Sometimes it is like
a purging and just a needing to be really heard by
each other and understand where each other is
coming from.......that happened last night,  and
all is better than well on the western front,  I am
happy to report!!

#2
I am thankful for the sweet fellowship we had
with our friends that visited this passed week.
  Truly a Blessing!

#3

I am thankful
for the healing power of God in the life of our friend
that visited this week, who exhibits no signs of a
stroke whatsoever.
Truly Amazing!

#4
I am thankful
once again for the book Bonnie (over at One Designing
Woman) gave me.  Jim and I are so enjoying it, and it really
spoke peace to our hearts on Tuesday, because we were
a lil disappointed we still haven't heard about the job yet...
but we were so blessed that the Lord kept this chapter we
read just for that day!  The amazing grace of God's
timely encouragement...priceless!

This really is a great book, so thought
I would post a pic just in case anyone
would like to read it!!  We highly
recommend it!!

#5
I am thankful
for a fun day out Tuesday to celebrate Jim's Birthday
and dinner at Cracker Barrel on Jerry,  Dee's fiancee,
 via gift cards for christmas!!
  Sweet!!

#6
I am thankful
for God's divine appointments and his stretching us
 beyond our comfort zone.....
It Equals Growth!!

#7
I am thankful
we finally got over to the mall to get Jim's tux measurements
done.  I know poor Megan is singing the hallelujah chorus,
as the Wedding is getting closer all the time.

#8
I am thankful
Scott is working on reviving our grass, he has fertiilized twice
now, and will do something else this weekend when he comes,
and it hasn't cost us a penny!  The yard is getting greener and
longer by the day...... we will need to mow soon!! lol
But what a  precious blessing from our son, and provision
 from our Heavenly Father!

#9
I am thankful
for my daughter's thoughtfulness and practicalness in
deciding to give her Dad a gift card so he can use it to
pay for his Tux for the wedding.
A precious gift from our daughter, and more provision
from our Lord.

#10
I am thankful
for this time, and the other times we have experienced
lay offs, and all that it has taught us, how it has grown
our faith in Christ, and all the creative ways the Lord
has provided for us.  He is so able.
Truly Awesome and Amazing!!

#11
I am thankful
for Cranberry chicken Salad.... pictured above, which we
had for dinner tonight!  It really is an awesome salad.
and If you would like to try it....... just Click here!

Are you hungry now!!  lol

#12
I am thankful
that our friends (Jessica from Jewels for the Journey,
and her sweet hubby)  arrived safely at their new
destination and are busily setting up housekeeping
as he starts his new job on Monday.
May God Bless every detail!!  and they will sure
be missed,  but they aren't too far away,  so that
is good!!

Well,  Sweet Friends
that's my thankful list for today,  Hope you have
much to be thankful for as well.

Why not share a few of your Thankfuls with us!
Would love to hear from you!!

Love, Hugs, and Cool Weather
