Thankful Thursday Nov. 5th, 2015, Past Fall Tablescapes

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
 and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him
and praise his name.
Psalm 100:4

Greetings Sweet Friends,

How are ya this fine day??  Hope you

are having a nice weekend.

It's raining and dreary here. Poo!
We are having our last days of R and R,
and will be back in the saddle again by
Monday......Have to say we have had so
much fun and rest we will be raring to
 go.............getting itchy to accomplish
 something........lol  but my first thing
to do when we get home beside un-
pack is watch lil darling....so looking
forward to it, as we have really missed
her, but we did skype and facetime
with her a few times which was great.
Such a great era to be living in many
ways........lol

Today (Sat.) is our 45th Anniversary,
Happy Anniversary to us.....lol
and have to say that I am so grateful
for my sweet hubby, and for all the
wonderful times we have had over all
these years, and for all the up and downs
we have fought our way thru, and thank-
ful for the children we brought into the
world, and for our lil granddaughter
and even our grandaughter doggies,
as well, also for our home, and our
love and relationship with the Lord
most of all, that has kept us quite a
happy, loving couple through it all.
If you would like to read our
story,  Just click here and

Thought I would share a few
Fall Tablescape scenes from the
 past with you today..............

I am thankful

#1 and 2
that we made it to Asheville, N.C.
safe and sound on Oct. 22nd, and
that we got to visit with Dee and
Jerry for about 8 hrs.before they
left on their Anniversary trip, and
then got to visit with them all this
passed week when they returned.
Last yr. I volunteered us to come
and stay with their lil dog Rosie,
because I knew it would be a very
 comfortable and inexpensive way
to vacation here, without a lot of
expense and the inconvenience of
hotels, and mostly cause I knew
hubby needed a vacation and it was
around our anniversary as well.....
so it just seemed perfect.
So we came last year but was only
here one day when we found out
my sister-in-law Susan had fallen
and broken her hip,  and was gonna
have to have surgery (some of you
probably remember) so we had to
turn around and go home, and take
Rosie home with us. So my sweet
 daughter knew how disappointing
that was for us,  so when she knew
they were going away this year
she just mentioned that they were
gonna go away and if we wanted
to come up and stay we could.
So here we are......and we had
9 days here by ourselves and it
has been about as perfect as it
gets this side of heaven.

#3
that the kids are so gracious and
thoughtful to bless us by allowing
us to stay in their home while they
were gone, as she has a friend that
could watch Rosie.  We used to
do this when they were in Florida
too, and it gives us a nice change
of scenery and lifestyle.

#4
for all the breathtaking Fall
scenery we have been seeing, it
 is just amazingly beautiful here.
The trees are incredible....
we always used to see all these
wonderful Fall trees in pics,
but until Dee and Jerry moved
to Asheville just 2 years ago,
we had never actually seen
them up close and personal.
So it is just such a treat for us
Floridians.  Now the trees are
 getting barer and barer this
last week.

#5
for all the cool/cold weather
and we have had rain as well,
but we are enjoying it all....
The cool/cold weather is such
a joyous retreat after all the
hot weather in Florida. In fact,
this week in Florida we have
had record breaking hot 90 +
weather, so happy we are
missing that, and hope it will
be over by the time we get
home.

#6
that our cat, Molly and Rosie
are working out fine together.
We have brought her with us
these last 2 times, and she has
truly been amazing for an older
cat, who had never been on a
leash before.  She has been very
content just staying upstairs in
the bedroom which we are staying
and when we take her out,  she
does her business right away just
like a dog would,  so we call
her our "CatDog" now.   lol
After about a week she would
meow and come down and sit
on the stair landing, if she wants
attention or to go out.  lol

#7
that everything is so conveniently
close here. It was raining all day
  (Tues.,Oct. 27th) and since there
was a movie theatre right here in
the town park where they live, just
5 mins. away we decided it would
be a good day to go to the movies.
We had already seen that they had
a move called "WoodLawn" playing
that we wanted to see,  it is based
on a true story.  It was such a truly
inspiring story........we highly
recommend it..........
I know I already told you a week
or so ago, but it really is such a
great movie, so worth repeating.

#8
that Dee and Jerry got home
safe and sound and really had a
good time on their trip to Hawaii.

#9
that Megan and Brooklyn got
home safe and sound from a
trip to her brothers Halloween
weekend.  Lil darling went as
Cinderella.....she was suppose
to be tinkerbell but she wanted
to dress like her lil friend, so
fortunately her brothers older
daughter had one from a few
years ago.  Problem solved!

Here is lil darling on Halloween,
Doesn't she look like such a Happy Camper,
and Super Man is her lil cousin,

#10
that we got to try a new Mexican
restaurant this time, and I think
they have the best chicken fajitas
I have ever had.  They were really
great.  It is a lil hole in the wall
type restaurant with truly good
food.  It is called "Papas and
Beer",  I think, just in case you
live in or near  South Asheville.
We went back again last night
and got the steak fajitas, and
they were great too, but guess
I am just partial to chicken........

#11
for a really fun Halloween....
now, I have to say I am not
really a fan of Halloween, but
they probably get around 500 or
more trick or treaters here, and I
am not, at all exaggerating, (We
hardly get any at home and always
sort of miss that) so we just sat out
on the porch and passed out candy
and so enjoyed seeing all the lil
ones in their costumes and talking
with the parents and children. Even
Rosie had a costume thanks to her
Mommy, she was a Jack o' Lantern,
and looked so cute. We spent a
fortune in candy, but we had such

a good time it was worth it.

#12
that we got our Christmas
shopping started, mainly for
our lil darling.............

Well, here's to another week at
cozy place...........

Thanks for coming by..............
Always happy to have you drop in.

Love, Hugs and
Happy First Week
of November Blessings,

Nellie

Part 2 - of our 4lst Anniversary Trip

Morning Sweet Friends,

Hope yall had a good weekend and aren't

freezing too death again!  Weather reports
say the midwest and Northeast are getting
another arctic blast.  Bless your hearts if you
live in those areas.   It is cold here for us....55,
but then tomorrow it will go into the 60's, so
we are finally having what we call Winter
weather here!  lol  Have to say it is
delight to us.........

We had a very nice weekend,  enjoyed
Dee's visit,  altho it seemed to fly by. The
baby shower for her friend was really nice,
she did a great job, and did get some help
from her friends family as well,  so that
was nice.
Hubby was off on Monday, so I had a Dr.
appt. so he went with me, then we went to
crack your barrel,  as my hubby calls it......
he was taking off on my son in love who
calls it Crackle barrel.........just to be funny.
anyway, it was a nice lunch and then always
fun looking around in their gift shop.....wound
up having one of the sales ladies in there talk
me into a pretty scarf that matched my solid
green top I got for Christmas,  it really was
pretty and she was so nice it made us both
want to get it.  I really do love the scarf, and
am hoping I can find some other things to
wear with it as well..........that would be nice.
We also decided to go to Home place
and look around  as we enjoy that store too.
I bought a new white pitcher cause it was
a good deal and thought I looked it over
really well, but once I got home and un-
wrapped it to wash it to get the sticker
off, it had a chip right on the mouth of the
pitcher underneath, not easy to see.
So it will be going back,  too bad, cause
I really liked the shape of it.

I happened to come across these pics of
our 41st anniversary trip and realized I
never did share all the pics with you,
( They are over 2 years old)  lol
I would like a nice record of it myself,
so thought why not.........cause I know
yall are like me and enjoy pics of pretty
and unique decorating, and this place
fills the bill.................
Also since I have Brooklyn don't have a
lot of time,  but to upload pictures any-
way. So seems like the perfect time.

These are picture taken throughout the
Wyndham Grand hotel in Orlando.
We got a great deal cause it was that
time of year for Florida residents rates.

All the rest of the pics accept the header are mine.

We totally enjoyed the decor,  so modern and so different

I was fascinated by their lovely and unique
carpeting and chandeliers.

Cutest lil bench chair,  they look like they should
we in an Alice in Wonderland movie.

This is like a grand ball room, for weddings
and convention and stuff, I would guess.

This was a closeup of the lights on the walls.
With the shadows it looks like a strange
 insect,  don't you think!   lol

Loved all these Spherical lights,
very unique and just noticed they had
a heart in the center.

The carpeting seems like it would be like
in an Alice and Wonderland movie
to me too.  lol  Isn't it so different??

This one is recessed but it looks like a gold
circle was painted above it.

A very cool mirror.

Just a sitting area..........when you come in from outside

These pics just don't do this justice, cause it was really
beautiful, and loved this mobile they had hanging there.

This pic and the one above was sort of in
a stair well,  but can you see it sort of has
like a lacy opague shade of something on
the windows.

In another hallway.  Another nice grouping with
 a sharp and modern mirror..............

Well , that is all for part 2,  there will probably be 2
more posts in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.
More fun decor ahead.............

My first post was of our hotel room and off
the balcony at night,  and if you want to see it
Then you will need to scroll down passed
this post. Have never seen it happen like
that before,  but because they all have the
same name, it doesn't pay attention
to the Part 2...for some reason.

Hope you had a fun tour of the Wyndham..........
We sure did.........

Thanks for stopping in............always appreciate
your comments.

Love, Hugs and
Modern Decor Blessings,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday November 19, 2020, Pics of beach houses in S.C.

I will proclaim the name of the LORD.

Oh, praise the greatness of our God!

Deuteronomy 32:3

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and full

of Joy.  We have just been getting

unpacked and caught up on 2 wks

worth of mail, and getting settled

into life at home again!  Loved

being gone but love being home!

A win/win,  I must say!

Pictures today are from some

lovely beach houses we saw at

Folly Beach on our golf cart

 ride.  Hope you enjoy having

a look... there will be more to

come in the next few weeks..

.......and also added a few other

random photos.

#1

Thankful that we got to come back

 to our Daughter and Son-in-loves

 for another 41/2 days before

returning home this passed Monday

 from our Anniversary trip

We are so grateful to Dee and

Jerry for doing so many nice

things to make our 50th

Anniversary so lovely!  They

truly went above and beyond

all that we could imagine.

#2

Thankful for an uneventful and

safe trip home on Monday, and

dinner out at Perkins once we

got into town, and best of all

we met to really nice ladies,

one was 88 yrs. old and we

thought she was alone and she

was sitting near us so we

struck up a conversation with

her, then her daughter came

back from the restroom, I

guess.  Anyway, we really

enjoyed them as we chatted

back and forth., and the Mom

said we had made her dinner,

cause we were such happy

people and she loved seeing

happy people, and we said

us too!!  She was so sweet.

#3

Thankful for a fun time out

shopping.  We went to the same

antique mall in Charleston, we went

to last time that has lots of different

vendors. Such a fun place to go,

we all enjoy it.....

#4

Thankful that we all got in the

mood for Christmas because

the Antique mall already had

a lot of Christmas decorations

and was playing Christmas

music, we so enjoyed that.....

Think they are trying to perk up

every ones spirits, course, Dee

says that she has noticed that

they do Christmas stuff earlier

here in Charleston. Maybe it's

a tradition..  Once I got home

I turned on our local Christian

station and they too, were

playing Christmas music, and

I thought what a great way to

keep our eyes on Jesus, since

most Christmas songs are

after all,  about HIM!

#5

Thankful that we got some

Christmas clothes shopping done

for lil darling as well.  We love

doing that too, and found some

really cute things.

#6

Thankful for just such beautiful

fall weather, and the rain, we had

that too, which thankfully went

away once that TS Theta went

passed us.  Also for the lovely

weather we have had since

we've been home too. Enjoyed

our porch some this week.

#7

Thankful for the fun of working

together on a Thanksgiving table-

scape for them, as her hubbies

Mom and Dad - in-  love are

coming to visit  for Thanksgiving.

Oops, my finger got in the way..........lol
This room is so flooded with light that it is hard
to get a real clear picture.
 Love the ethereal look tho.

Simple yet elegant
It wasn't completed as this was just
test run for later.  She was gonna
put white carnations in the small
copper goblets, but since we couldn't
find any and she might not find any
before the day, decided she could
put the candles inside them, so she
will just put some flowers in the
Gather pitcher if she can find
 some and move the Turkeys
in a lil closer to center, and it
will still look great.............

#8

Thankful, Lord willing that they

will be able to spend Christmas

here with us this year, and it will

be easier for them too, since his

parents have moved back to our

 area from S. Florida.

#9
Thankful that we have found

a new conservative News

station called "NewsMax"

So far, we are liking it, takes

a lil while to get used to but

think it is honest and balanced

reporting hopefully.  Sean

Spicer is one of the news

casters.

#10
Thankful that lil darling and her

 Mom are showing no symptoms

of Covid, as they were exposed

to 2 people who tested positive.

So they are quarantining. We

were able to skype with her

for a lil bit today, am really

missing her,

#11
Thankful for another first.....

I had Hot Chocolate made from

the new fad.....Hot Chocolate Bombs,

it was really good too!  My sweet

Daughter had ordered some from

an etsy shop hoping we could all

have them on a cold night out by

the fire pit, unfortunately, it never

got cool enough, so I had one

anyway..... Just inside....lol

#12
Thankful for the fun of making

 home made donuts with canned

biscuits in our daughters air fryer.

We did it the first week when

lil darling, was there.  They are

really good and  best when they

are warm.  They were actually

another first.....loving all these

 firsts.....  can you tell.  lol

#13
Thankful for pretty hot pink
Toes. Our Daughters friend
sells these paper coated with
nail polish stick ons, and it is so
amazing how they last and look
like you have gel nails cause
they are really shiny, much
more so than the pic you
will see below. They are called
"Color Street"., and you can
just take them off with nail
polish.  My daughter was sweet
to put them on for me and has
had hers on for over a month
and they still look good. Mine
have only been on for just over
2 weeks and they still look good
after being in the pool and hot
 tub and showers numerous times.

Oh my gosh, just realized
this was another first.  lol

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's it for Cozy place this week.
Not sure what happened to the
spacing on this post,  but could
not get it to all match up.  lol
Thanks for coming by
and
Hope you have a great weekend.
Love, Hugs and Mid
November Blessings,
Nellie
