Since it is Veterans Day
I think my
#1
Thankful
will be for all those dear Veterans out
there who have made the freedoms we
enjoy possible. My Father in law was
a WWII Veteran, my hubby and brothers
and a several dear friends were Viet Nam
Veterans and we have had and known
others from the Dessert Storm and Iraq
and Afghanistan wars.
We salute you!! We honor You!!
For your love of God and Country
For your bravery in the face of horrific
circumstances, and for standing with
and for this country, and being willing
to lay down your lives, and we our
thankful for you and your families who
have also sacrificed with you!!
Thank You from the bottom of
our hearts!!

I am thankful
for flannel jamies to lounge around
in when the weather is chilly.
I just love they are so comfy/cozy!!
#3
I am thankful
that a dear friend that called today
sounds better than she has in a long
time, she has been under a lot of stress
and under the heap, so what a delight
to hear her sounding so good, in fact,
they are coming over in a bit, and we
are really looking forward to it.
They came and we had a great time.
So happy she is doing so well!
#4
I am thankful
for answer phones because we get a bazillion
solicitation calls a day or so it seems anyway.
Even tho we are on the National don't call
list, go figure!!
I really don't like to be rude to people cause
I realize it is their job, but some of them
will just not take No for an answer, so the
answer phone solves that lil problem for me!!
#5
I am thankful
for toothbrushes and toothpaste!
Can you only imagine what our teeth would
look like without them. ewwwwww!!
don't even want to think about it!! lol
#6
I am thankful
that we have indoor bathrooms, imagine
having to go outside in the cold, with
spiders and critters during the night!!
No Thank You!!
I am thankful we are blessed so much
with indoor plumbing for the bathroom,
but for the kitchen as well.
#7
I am thankful
for leftovers because I haven't had to
cook all week, so that was a fun 5 day
Anniversary present!!
Hey, it works for me!! lol
#8
I am thankful
for the discovery of Hobby Lobby stores and
for a fun day out on Tuesday enjoying it!!
#9
I am thankful
for pretty pictures, and home decor
accessories to decorate our homes with.
We could live without them, but I sure
wouldn't want to!!
Cause I like feathering my Nest!! lol
#10
I am thankful
that Publix supermarkets have a lemon
crunch cake that is okay for us to eat,
it has healthy oils and no hydrogenation
oils. It's so delicious, like a pound cake
with powdered sugar drizzled on it!
and Yum,
we just got one for our company!!
#11
I am thankful
for music because it can really put you
in a great mood and be so encouraging
and uplifting. I love to listen to
contemporary christian music, but also
I love music that sometimes comes from
movies we have watched. Typically,
I am not crazy about music on blogs, cause
I find it distracting while I am trying to
read unless you have access to shut it
off quickly, but there is a blog I go to
that everytime I go there it immediately
cheers me up because it has music from
the movie "You've got mail", and we
love that movie and the music.

I am thankful

I hung it on a drawer knob from a ribbon.
Looks cute!!

Goats milk soap!! and it smells
soooooooo good!! It was purchased
from someone's etsy shop.

Wanta share your Thankfuls???
Hi Nellie
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle about the indoor plumbing. When I was in country school 7th & 8th grade we had outhouses. This was in Nebraska where the winters are so cold. I am so thankful for indoor plumbing.
I am so thankful that we did not have to put my 15 year old kitty down. She has really bad mouth problems.
I am thankful that I work with with such wonderful people.
I am thankful that I we have extra blankets and heat because it has been turning cold.
I am thankful for telephones so I can talk to my family and friends.
I am thankful for beautiful colors of fall.
I am thankful that I can see the smallest thing and it makes me realize how blessed I am.
I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Have a great weekend!
Blessings & Hugs
Janet
Hi Nellie,
ReplyDeleteI was here earlier and then left half way through my comment as I wanted to send you this blog address about gratitude. Here it is:
http://aholyexperience.com If that doesn't work, let me know. This woman had a great idea and I am taking the challenge to make a list of 1000 gift I already have (since this is traditionally the time for list making and gifts!)
I have tried setting mine up on my sidebar under the place where it says pages. Check it out and see how you like it. I'll just keep adding my gifts as I think of them, hopefully one a day or more. I am excited about it.
I am glad you are doing well. Cannot believe it is almost time to think about Christmas decorating. I am actually starting already even though we are having a small group over for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, part of the same group, is coming over for a Christmas dinner the Sunday before Christmas so they will get a preview. I'll tell them I am trying to kick off Black Friday for them!
So I am actually putting my fall stuff away expect for a couple of things for the centerpiece on the table. There seems to be a lot coming up and then Christmas in Utah and if I am going to go to the trouble I want us to have time to enjoy the week long effort!
I am still behind on getting the New England blog posts done. I really do not like posting on the past...but I will finish it because there are some fun places yet to share.
Tonight is date night and here I am. It counts technically as we are in the same room and Jim is watching Harry Potter in preparation for the new movie coming out next week. I am not a fan but he likes is so I am trying to pay attention. He is such a little boy at heart I think.
Well have a wonderful weekend! I have a church leadership meeting tomorrow morning for 2 hours and then more work to do in preparation for Jim going in the attic tomorrow to get the boxes and boxes and boxes of Christmas stuff up there. Oh boy I am tired already. Thinking good thoughts and trying to encourage myself to just get in there and "Do It!" I know it will be fun, it is all the preliminary things we have to get done just to get into the attic to get the things. Ugh!
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN INVICTUS, DO! IT IS A GREAT MOVIE!
Love, B
#1. I'm so Thankful for all American Veterans from the start of our country, now, and future. Without them we may not be here now.
ReplyDelete#2. I'm thankful to lounge every moment I can get! This year has had much work being brought home. The only problem when I have time in the evenings to lounge, I find I have been asleep for an hour or more! Ha!
#3. Keep me in prayer. Some days I feel just great while others, I feel totally overwhelmed.
#4. Since I got on the "No Call List" I very rarily get any calls. My answer machine probably helps. I also have my phone through Bright House now (much cheaper) and the caller comes up on my t.v. screen.
#5. Yes, and especially the nylon floss picks!
#6. Uncle Clarence had outhouses. Everytime we would visit, I hated using it! Remember, Jim!
#7. It's always great when you don't have to cook everyday! I don't cook much anymore, it's mostly microwaved dishes!
#8. I love places like that, but I never visit because I don't have it budgeted; so why tempt muself, ha!
#9. My nest is feathered all right; Jerry, Cuddles, Max......
#10. I love Publix too! Not just because of the great food they have, but they know me since I come in 2-3 times a week (for the past 10 years or more.) With the store I go to that is smaller than most, it is like a small church; they know most of their customers.
#11. I'm listening to Susan Boyle now! She's singing, "Amazing Grace." I'm listening to it through my DVD surround system and the orchestration behind her songs sends chills up and down and out through your finger tips!! She was found by singing on one of the t.v. talent shows. Homely, overweight; but when she sang, the judges mouths fell in awe and wonder at her beautiful voice. God has truly blessed her and those who listen to her.
#12. Thankful surprises are wonderful! It makes me want to give to those I work with so much in appreciation of their love and friendship. The group of teachers I work with in kindg., we are like family doing for one another out of the love we have for one another. I think this is what the LORD means: giving is much more than receiving. He shows it also when you give more than your 10%. He has so blessed me since I started doing that a couple of years ago!
I love you all very much,
Susie
I was just thinking this week that I'm glad I don't have a Hobby Lobby close to me...I'd be in trouble:) We were in one on Thursday and I wanted everything!
ReplyDeleteI got home from Florida on Tuesday night and I'm trying to catch up with my friends here. I hope you have been well and things are good for you!
Nellie, I am thankful for you and all of your nice comments! Yes, I am excited about another cute baby boy! Mother and baby are doing great!
ReplyDeleteLove that soap!! So beautiful! And like you I'm very grateful for all the men and women who sacrifice so much for us to have our freedom!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. Thank you for sharing your stories. And, thank you so much for visiting My Cozy Corner.

Isn't that just the cutest gift yet...and pumpkin pie soap??! How wonderful:) Had to giggle with your thankful heart for toothpaste and brushes and indoor potties!! Right there with you! But I was especially with you when you mentioned Hobby Lobby - we just got a Hobby Lobby not too terribly far from here. As far as know, it is the first one in Virginia. If there is another, I have no idea where it is but I'm pretty excited to know one is close. I've been to one once in Tennessee and I hear about them all the time - so I can't wait to visit!!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed a great weekend - and a nice week planned ahead. I'll be checking back in soon:)
Hi Nellie,
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for our Veterans! GOD Bless them all!
Our church choir sang the wonderful anthem "Song for the Heroes" that they often do at church, at the Banquet on Veterans Day and we acknowledged the many heroes among us.
It was special.
I too am thankful for toothbrushes and toothpaste. I'd add my gratefulness to whoever invented floss! =)
Happy Thanksgiving Sweet Friend ~ Jess
